We are extremely pleased with the service from American Medical. We were in a rush to have a power chair delivered to our home, and they helped us expedite delivery through another service. I came to the American Medical Equipment store on Union Ave., San Jose, to buy a product on a Saturday, and realized that the store had closed at 3:00 (It was about 3:30 at that time). The nice woman who worked there--Shelly?-- was in the parking lot and saw my disappointment, and told me that if I had only one quick purchase, shed be fine with me coming in. What a blessing! Its almost impossible for me to shop on weekdays, so I was so glad for her compassionate offer to let me come in after hours and get what I needed. Thank you for your great service!

Great customer service from the young lady behind the counter who was not a family member. She gets 5 stars. Also receiving 5 stars is the inventory. The 3 star is ti the owner. They do not give any Military discounts. Being a disabled veteran, I usually will not shop a business unless they do. But, because the need was urgent, we had no choice. We spent $475.00 and didn’t even get help to the car. Also, when I asked if they gave a Military discount, the owner played dumb and let a the young lady behind the counter tell me. So in the end, if you are in a pinch and can’t find any other places, then go there. Otherwise seek Military friendly businesses like these.

When I first started inquiring about the rental of the recliner I received immediate and through responses via their chat function/text. Placing the actual order was also super easy. The delivery guys Jay and Ray arrived at the time I was told and were very helpful in explaining the chairs functionality and wore masks. Pick up by Jay and Ray was equally timely and easy. I recently had a mastectomy and needed to get some Abdominal Pads and Vaseline infused gauge. My dad, luckily, remembered a medical supply store on Union and it was American Medical & Equipment Supply! As soon as I walked in (they are following COVID19 protocols correctly), they were so helpful on finding exactly what I needed. I was in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes. Even better, I got those two items for ~$20. They were super friendly and I will definitely be back!

I was so pleased with the service level. American Medicals response via text let me know that had the product I needed in stock and ready for pick up. It happened to fast too. I got a text and within minutes I knew exactly where to go to get what I needed (and at a good price). When I arrived in the store, if you know me I dread going to the store, I was greeted immediately with, Hello, we will be right with you. Within a minute a young lady approached. Quickly she escorted me to the item I was seeking. The same young lady escorted me to the register and completed the sale at the register. I felt like a VIP. They made a pretty awkward experience so very pleasant for me. Its worth the trip to go to American Medical!

I needed to purchase adult diapers for my grandparents, so I came here today after calling in my order for curbside pickup. Super helpful staff, very efficient, was only parked there for less than a minute! They were thoughtful enough to ask if I preferred the packages to be left next to the car or in the trunk. All though I was very happy with the service and products, they don’t work with any insurance carriers such as Medicare to charge your medical equipment back to. They lied to me when I bought a lot of equipment for my surgery, saying I would have to bill them myself, then not knowing I needed a Medicare participating number from them, so now I can’t get any money back from Medicare. Very disappointed.

I live in Indianapolis and my 86 year old Mom lives in Los Altos. My Mom was having trouble getting out of her old recliner so I searched for a suitable lift recliner online. Hours and hours of research and only mediocre results and none of the potential stores could assemble and deliver to my Moms senior living community. I stumbled onto American Medical and Equipment and was immediately impressed with the quality of their chairs...WAAAY better than anything I could find at Amazon, Wayfair, Overstock, ebay...etc.I called and spoke with Agnes and she helped me figure out the best chair for my Mom, based on her individual size and needs. Agnes patiently answered all of my questions (multiple phone calls) and she arranged for the delivery of the chair to my Mom. Covid added more challenges to the delivery but that didnt stop this store from getting the job done! From start to finish, Agnes and her folks provided excellent communication, exceptional customer service and prompt delivery. My Mom LOVES her new chair and I had an excellent customer experience. I would highly recommend American Medical and Equipment.

I went in to get a support sleeve for my calf. Had no idea what I needed, but never fear the two gals that work there are very helpful. Measured my calf and ankle and got me what needed and will call when they get another colour in my size. They are very nice and knowledgeable.

We have rented a scooter and medical recliner from this company and both times, all staff were courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. Dealing with emergency medical needs can be overwhelming. They made getting the right equipment easy and delivered it exactly when we needed it.

Yesterday my client and i went to this store to get a few things he badly needed. Agnes, a staff member, was absolutely excellent in helping my client get what he needed. This store has so much great stuff and more than i expected. I would recommend going here if you are in need of medical supplies. American Medical is an awesome family owned company. They’ve helped me select a power recliner and a powered bed for elderly family with mobility issues. They’re courteous, knowledgeable, and eager to help. We’ve been to nearly every medical supply store in the South Bay, and this is the one that we keep coming back to (sometimes every day for a week).

I am so happy with the customer service and personal attention I received with the rental of a lift chair from American Medical. The owner was very understanding when I expressed concerns about the delivery window (10-2) as I had a doctors appointment at 2:30pm. He said not to worry, mine would be the first delivery. Ray and Jay arrived at 9:45am and delivered the chair without a hitch. They explained everything I needed to know and took me through the operation of the chair. All the while they were polite and courteous. This is a fantastic company!

They demonstrated the chairs various features and after confirming I understood everything, made their exit quickly and politely. Super responsive: I had spent a few hours looking for a particular product online and came across American Medical & Equipment Supply online. There was an option to do a live chat or text. I texted and got a response immediately at 8:30 pm on Friday night, way after hours. The associate was very helpful and sent me a link and a picture of the produce she recommended. The next day (Saturday) I went to the store and was greeted very warmly. The same associate introduced herself and remembered exactly what I needed.Very impressed!

The staff is compassionate, knowledgeable and extremely helpful, considerate of the issues we faced and provided suggestions about supplies that would make caring for the patient much easier for the patient, AND easier for the family caregivers! Plus equipment was available to rent or purchase immediately, was of good quality, and was promptly picked up when no longer needed. We return to them time and time again for the assistance they provide as well as their competitive prices, and their suggestions on how we can help keep our patient both comfortable and safe. We would not have done half so well without American Medical Supply.

Just bought a lift chair here. Jay was very helpful and patient, answering our questions and making suggestions. I hadnt thought we would buy anything right away, but the experience was so reassuring and convincing that we went ahead.I wish we had visited American Medical years ago, when we first started having the need for special supplies and equipment. They have a good selection of quality products. I kept thinking - gee, thats what we needed last year.

We were looking for a special kind of walker for a stroke patient and we called American Medical and they were incredibly helpful! We had ordered a hospital bed for my uncle who was being discharged from the hospital. This was a very stressful time for the family emotionally and we had a lot to get done to get ready for his arrival home. The bed was delivered by American Medical & Equipment during the promised time frame. The 2 delivery men were very polite and courteous. They were very careful while bringing the bed into the house and setting it up. They also took time to instuct me on how to operate the bed and answer any questions I had. Definitely would recommend this company!

Excellent customer service. We were greeted at the door and led to the items were looking for. We were given good advice on which item was correct for me. After that we wandered up to the 2nd floor and Jay showed us the luxurious furniture they carry. I have never seen a massage chair like the ones they have.

I went to the store to help my spouse purchase Gloves for his employees. His company is a medical transportation provider where all employees are required to wear PPE. With facial masks, hand sanitizer and gloves hard to find during this COVID 19 crisis, the ladies at the store were able to help us. They sold us Gloves. Their customer service were superb! Purchased floor model product, received (all sales final no exceptions) store receipt then told the clerk our delivery man is on the way to pick up the item and deliver to us. We went home to prepare for placing the recliner we’d purchased for over 2000.00. 30 to 45 minutes later, we received a call that a mistake was made and we would need to pay 700.00 more before our man would be able to load the chair and make the delivery.Businesses never require a customer to pay for their own mistake after customer has paid and left the premises with verbal agreement of pickup and delivery. Needless to say, we refused to pay such A ridiculous request. We’re waiting to be credited and will make sure others know about American Medical and Equipment Supply Business practice. Still contemplating as to what kind of legal procedure may be taken. We do know what the law states regarding this act. It isn’t in favor of the business.By the way, the 1 star is questionable. The employees were very helpful and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The managers were able to assist with finding supplies that fit my economic budget as well as ordering them so I can get them before leaving the country! When I ordered the supplies they were cheaper than other medical supply stores I had visited in San Jose. Definitely recommend to check them out if you’re ever in search of medical supplies!

I was pricing a lift chair. Jay waited upon me. It was an impressive presentation. He learned my price range and only showed chairs in that price range. I got to try out everything in every position. He described the advantages of each. It was very pleasant.I am not sure of the warranty yet. On the Golden website there is a limited lifetime warranty on the build and the lift mechanism. Jay did not mention that, even when prompted to do so. I havent bought yet, I am doing my due diligence by checking ratings and reviews. I shall make up my mind shortly. As for the store, American Medical is really the place to go. The prices are good and competitive. Will be shopping there again.

We rented a recliner chair on April 4th 2019 for one month. Chair was very comfortable and clean and on the first days the UP feature really helped me stand up.There was a confusion about the pick up time at the end of the rental period that was quickly resolved by their manager. Shelly provided me with great customer service.

This store now has a brand new furniture showroom! It is gorgeous! All of the products are there because they promote health in some way. For example, massage chairs to promote relaxation. Recliners that get into a zero gravity position to help decrease swelling. Pillows with chamomile spritz to promote relaxation. Adjustable bed frames to help ease back pain. For sure going to purchase a massage chair and all my bedding and furniture from here now!!

After visiting a couple different medical equipment stores, this store had the best showroom and variety. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I purchased a zero gravity lift chair (made in USA!!), four wheeled walker, some ice packs, and biofreeze. I would highly recommend this place for all your equipment needs. I was visiting from Texas to see my grandparents so I took them too this place for their medical supplies. Had one of the greatest experiences with customer service for any store. I got them multiple items for their home. I got a lift chair, Scooter, rolling walker, ramp, and bedroom/bathroom safety equipment. It was my gift to them for an early Christmas. They have a HUGE showroom for all type of medical supplies and I would recommend it to anyone who needs any type of medical equipment.The delivery was quick and fast for all the items since I didnt have a van to put all the items in. They came to their house to drop it off and help do the install.My grandparents loved all the gift especially the lift chairs. The zero gravity feature for the chairs is amazing. They love taking their midday naps on the chair.
