Mission Hospice has been a very good company for the longest time I’ve worked with them. They are very caring, nurses goes above and beyond all the time. They have supported my community over the years and families, staff and residents are always very satisfied. During the most difficult time, they make it easier for all parties. Their reps will help out too when needed regardless. If anyone needs Hospice services, they will be a great choice!

Justin, Mission Healthcare Liaison is very reliable when it comes to our residents needs. He is quick to respond, friendly and helpful. He always check on our residents and very concern to them. Joan Harrison, one of their case manager is very compassionate and she listens to our concerns and needs. She is also quick to respond and always follows up. If there is a concern, she does anything to correct it immediately. She is friendly and attentive as well. Recommend them highly.

Hands down the very best Hospice. Starting with the Hospice liaison Justin who is the kindest, most compassionate, caring, empathetic and reliable human ever! Mission offers continuous home care, general inpatient care, and respite care. All top notch. Every staff-team member that I have interacted with is kind, knowledgeable and caring which I believe is some of the most important things to have when you are in need of a hospice for a loved one. I whole heartedly recommend Mission Hospice to anyone in need. Thank you for all of your support throughout the years. Keep shining!

The staff from Mission Hospice was OUTSTANDING! My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer that had spread to his pelvic bones. Mission Hospice made the last days of his life more comfortable. A nurse was with him for the last 48 hours of his life. He was in severe pain and the nurses had to give him Morphine every 30 minutes. The nurses updated us on an hourly basis telling us what to expect. The entire staff, nurses, clergy and social workers were great. This is a type of service no one wants, but if you need it they are there to help when needed.

Mission hospice was God sent for my mom and for my family. My mom was sick for a couple of years and during one of the many visits to the hospital we decided to place her on hospice. Mission was there from the start and was beyond accommodating and kind and helpful through the last year of my moms life. I am grateful for the nurses who in my eyes and my families eyes were angels and they adored my mom. Erin and Tracie, I cant thank you enough for what you did for our family and my mom! Thank you Mission for your services.

My Mother was at a facility and Mission Hospice came in to take care of her. They were always so caring and kind to my Mother. They tried their best to make her as comfortable as possible. They bathed her very well and kept her clean. (Thanks Vicki). Since I lived about an hour and a half away from where my Mom was staying they would call me to check in and let me know how she was doing. I appreciate everything they did for her. I would use them again! Thanks for all that you do!

Im the owner of a non-medical home care agency here in San Diego. We do not offer hospice services, so when my clients need that level of help, I rely on Justin Rahn and his team at Mission to deliver with personal attention and compassion. The quality is great and they are kind and honest with how hospice can help and what to expect. I wanted to say Thanks through this review for helping the families that I have sent his way. Thanks Justin!

I was so impressed with Mission Hospice during the time they helped us with my Grandmother. They were always there to answer questions and assist us, plus they always followed through on making sure we had everything we needed. They not only took great care of my Grandma but great care of us while we dealt with everything that was happening. So grateful for them.

I owned and operated a care facility in Vista Ca and experienced just about every Hospice Organization working with my residents. By far Mission Hospice stood out with their level of care and love. I had to make the very hard decision to have Hospice help me with my mother who just passed away and I called Mission Hospice. They were so loving and went the extra extra mile to be with us and come out immediately when she started having problems. They were there at her house with us with their arms around us when she passed. They have continued to reach out to me even weeks later. Mission Hospice and their staff are special and the best medical professionals you could ever ask for. Thank you Mission Hospice

We called Mission Hospice when my father-in-laws medical care became more about comfort than about rehabilitation. They were sensitive to everyone in my family as we processed and accepted that he was entering the last chapter of his life...the end. First of all, I commend them for the speed they achieved in getting care and equipment in place. Secondly, the skills, medical knowledge and communication demonstrated by Justin, Autumn, and EVERY person with whom we interacted was better than ANY caregiver we had encountered. We immediately felt we could trust each one of them. More than their competence and professionalism, they were SOOO caring and each Mission Hospice person seemed to lead with his/her heart. Every time, without exception. This was my 4th experience with Mission Hospice. I cannot say enough about how much they helped my father-in-law and our family during our most difficult days.

Absolutely the worst experience of my life. Stay away from this organization. They failed to provide a comfort kit for my dad. This kit contains all the medication to provide comfort to the dying patient. Morphine, anti-anxiety medication etc..The most important job they were suppose to do and they failed miserably. I had to watch my father die a horrible death. He was on Mission hospice for over 3 weeks and no onemade sure that the comfort kit was at the facility that he was at. Once the hospice LVN realized there was no kit she left my dads room to never return. She was on the phone the whole time while I provided the care to my father. My father died without any help from hospice what so ever.

My husband was being treated at the La Jolla VA for lung cancer. Last year in early Jan. they told us that treatment was unsuccessful and he had only weeks to live...WEEKS! 😢The VA refered him to hospice. The discharge planner refered us to Mission Hospice and a rep from Mission Hospice came to speak to me. I had just been told the love of my life had weeks to live and couldnt stop crying. The rep was perstistent and insensitive, continued his sales pitch as I bawled my eyes out, and handed me company brochures instead of tissues. When the discharge planner called me the day my husband was discharged, I told her I preferred someone OTHER than Mission Hospice. She snottily asked why, and when I told her I felt their rep was insensitive, she became defensive and insisted that Mission Hospice came highly recommended and tried to change my mind! Gosh, and here I thought the decision was mine and my husbands.

I would give this hospice a minus 100 if I could. The experience we had with this company was a nightmare. Starting with unable to get ahold of nurses. We would set on hold for up to 8 minuets lessening to their recording before you could talk to someone, or in most cases leave a message. Left waiting for a return phone call that would never come. This place became a horror story the day my son passed away. The best I can say is do not believe one thing they tell you they do when they come for you to interview, or when they set your loved one up in their system. Once you sign up then you see how incompetent they really are, especially on the last days of your loved ones life.

We placed my uncle on mission hospice approx. 1 month ago. We started in Hemet and moved him to San Diego. The Hemet team was good, however the San Diego team was a big disappointment from the very first day. The day he was transferred to his new home in San Diego, mission hospice came out to evaluate his needs and left. They left him without any supplies on a Friday night. They were supposed to make sure he had briefs, disposable pads, barrier cream, a urinal, etc. They left him with nothing and the facility he went to was not a skilled nursing facility so they did not have these items. Additionally, they did not follow bm protocol or ensure that he had basic equipment such as bed pans, a complete bedside commode etc. Nurses left him in the highest position in his bed, didnt ensure he had his call light etc. I was told various things like it was against company policy for lvns to check O2 SATs, and that ear protectors for oxygen tubing were not available to order etc . I expressed my concerns with the director as it was a daily struggle with this company ensuring my uncle got basic nursing care and supplies, things did not improve and I planned on transferring to a different hospice, however my uncle passed away,*alone*, before I could. I was told that when transition appeared to be starting and his needs increased that we would have an increase in duration of staff at bedside. This did not occur and I pleaded with staff to increase his duration of care as I felt he was in transition , his vital signs changed to critical, he stopped producing urine, he had temp fluctuations, stopped speaking, stopped eating and drinking, and was uncomfortable and I asked them what else did they need to consider him in transition and increase his care times ? He was clearly in his last days of life and they failed us during this time .He even reached a point where he could no longer swallow pills and I expressed my concerns that I felt they should either crush the pills or get him something liquid for his pain, and what did they order ? A pill Ms contin that cannot be crushed. How appropriate is that for a man that cannot swallow pills ? They did not have a grip on what he needed and there was zero follow through and it was a daily struggle to fight for basic things until the very end of his life and where were they ? I waited with my uncle for well over an hour after he had no pulse for hospice to arrive to pronounce him. There was one nurse in particular and I would like to praise him for his service and his name is saul although he was only able to see my uncle twice, but I do feel that he made a difference and I appreciate him for that.
