Pricing is ridiculous. $15/day passes? Sky high membership prices.What do you really pay for? A nice neighborhood? You should pay for what’s in the gym, not where it’s located. A 10 pound dumbbell is no different in La Jolla than it is in National City, machines are identical in every crunch. Just my opinion. Compare the pricing of this gym to the one in Serra Mesa, just a 10-15 min drive down the road. Price is half for similar amenities/service. Spend your money wisely.

This place is the worst gym I’ve ever been to. Half of every thing here is broken and half of the things that aren’t broken are hanging by a thread. Then come to the gym this morning and they have shut down group fitness rooms unless in session and say it’s for our safety? If you truly cared about our after you’d fix half of the raggedy things that are broken around your gym.

Its too hot in there 77 degrees. (except around the front desk). The manager is very irresponsible and ignoring. I constantly asked her to reduce the temperature, she treated me poorly and finally she gave me the regional managers email!!! This is absolutely her responsibility to follow up not me. Also she tried to fool me with the thermostats, shes like the big number is showing outside temperature!!! Please check the photos and judge.

Love, love, love this gym! Staff is very friendly, its clean, spacious, members are courteous, joining and cancelling membership is SO EASY, like wow, blown away at how simple everything was. Can buy membership online and dont need to come in person to cancel. This place does everything they can to make things easy for members

There are some good things about this gym. It’s kept clean and there’s tons of equipment to name a couple. But I am giving this place a low score because they treat it like a night club and the lack of response from the manager. The lights are usually turned down low. But what’s worse is the deafening music being played. I’ve tried wearing ear plugs but there aren’t any strong enough. I have to deafen myself with my earbuds to drown out their music. Another significant issue was the disrespect and lack of response from the manager of the gym. I attempted to reach out to this person about my issues with the music, but they couldn’t even be bothered with responding to me. If they could address the noise issue then I’d be inclined to love this place and rate it better. I don’t even see any reason for the speakers since everyone wears their own headphones/earbuds anyway. But until then I’ll have to give it one star.Edit: They turned down the volume a little.

75 bucks sign on fee and 10 dollar processing fee along with 80 bucks annual fee after 2nd month. 45 bucks for month to month and they require you to use your bank account and not credit card for your reoccurring fee. Just FYI. Pricey but this is the only gym nearby. Once a competition comes, I doubt this gym will survive.

Im downgrading my rating to 2 stars. Equipment is highly lacking in maintenance. Every other machine seems to be missing screws or is falling apart. I had to try 3 different treadmills before I found one that worked .There arent many options in the area but Ill be switching gyms as soon as there are.

This is a very good gym Ive been going there for over a month now, I gave this a 4 star because when you forget your mask they charge you $2 for a single mask.

Amazing Gym! Professional and friendly staff (especially Gage), clean machinery and workout areas, not crowded at all, there are always available machines. Great location and always available parking. I love it!

Excellent facility, its insanely clean, people are always cleaning, and everybody who works there is really friendly. They are amazing for working all day wearing those masks.

Have been going to this gym for a while, and for the price and location you cant beat it really, way better than driving to 24 hours for a smelly gym or paying out the wazoo for bay club. It was recently built and everything still looks brand new and clean. People are required to wear masks and there is a capacity on how many people can work out at once. Cleaning staff comes by often. For such a big and open facility Im sure the indoor aspect of COVID doesnt hold as much weight, just make sure to socially distance and not touch your face or mask. only complaint is I wish there were more squat racks. Also used to be a no deadlift rule upstairs but they recently changed that which was great to hear. All in all a good gym and have been going here for years and will most likely probably continue to do so.

Finally getting a proper workout in after months of quarantining has been so good for my mental health, i hope they get to stay open because i would not enjoy going back to home workouts and laying in bed all day.

Overall a clean gym with decent equipment. The classes are not great. The real purpose of the post is to comment on the attitude of Management. I had been a member for almost 3 years and called into cancel my membership as Im mostly working out at home these days. They said they cant do this over the phone so send an email. I sent an email and received no response or confirmation that the member was cancelled. A week later my card was charged. I called into see what happened and then said the membership was cancelled but they need a 10 day notice to cancel the membership. Interesting...that was never mentioned on the phone. Youd think theyd let their customer know that or acknowledge when the cancellation was received. As I made a simple request to refund the last charge for a membership Im not using they were basically gave the attitude: deal with it! Having immature, unprofessional people running a gym without any real understanding or committment to real customer service is just a lazy bad decision by management. Get these people the training so they can actually make rational decisions and treat the customer as they would like to be treated!

My favorite things about my Crunch fitness membership are: 1. I can bring a friend for free, which makes working out more fun. 2. Hydro-massage table. 3. Fun classes offered multiple times a day. 4. There is a housekeeping staff working all day. This is the cleanest gym I have visited. 5. Complementary towels. 6. Friendly staff. 7. Modern equipment.

Ive been going here for about 2 years and have always looked forward to working out at this location. Staff has always been nothing but helpful, especially Kloey, going out of her way to help me out with all my questions in this crazy time. Weights are always racked and equipment is always clean. Cant ask for more.

I love this place very clean. They have a huge variety of workouts in the morning, afternoon and evening times. Great personal trainers. They have tanning beds and massage tables. Doesnt get very crowded so you can get a great solid workout!

I loved working out here. Unfortunately I moved and have no Crunch Fitness near me. The one closest is too far north and in a traffic corridor. I would recommend the Carmel Valley Crunch to everyone serious in staying fit. The condition of the equipment is great as well as the trainers and personnel at this gym.

Reasonable pricing. Wide selection of brand new equipment. Not so crowded. Showers, lockers, sauna. Lots of classes.

Awesome two story facility. Awesome staff welcoming when you enter. Clean environment with awesome equipment to pick from. The setup upstairs is great enough room to get around without getting in a persons session way. Everybody is friendly and sharing.

I just want to inform everyone how grateful I am for such a good friendly service that Michael Howard provide for me and each one of the member of Crunch fitness, with his smiling and nice , positive energy welcoming everyone to the fitness. I really enjoy my whole time there just because of his positive energy that he spread the entire time for everyone, as result I like to exercise on first floor since he provide energetic friendly environment with professional , polite manner for each one of the member. I think he should recognize for his professional service he provide for everyone, with his knowledge of customer service caused me looking forward coming to crunch fitness every day and refer the fitness club to everyone I know in my neighborhood. I am thankful for his guide and his recommendation for training. I believe crunch fitness should be proud of him and be honor to have him as an employee.

I had the same problem as others -- check the reviews. The management here is awful. The worst customer service Ive ever experienced in my life. I called well in advance to ask about putting my daughters membership on hold, and the Crunch employee told me that I could do that same day. No problem. Then when I went to do it, they said I needed to let them know 10 days in advance. I have 3 other people in the car who heard them tell me I did not need to give advance notice. I spoke to the GM who was the rudest human being Ive ever spoken with and refused to do anything about it, even though it was his employee who made the mistake. I would be very careful before joining this gym. Terrible management -- total crooks!!!

Great gym. I do weights and cardio. Usually spend 60 to 90 minutes 2 to 3 times a week. Never during peak hours. Been a member for 2 years. Very convenient location. Sometimes I reward myself with a Starbucks or Vitality Tap after a satisfying workout.

For the money, this gym is 5 -stars. Overall it is a 4. It has so much amazing equipment. Very well stocked with weights and everything else you need. But it is pretty spartan. Not much luxury, however the price is extremely reasonable. I wish there were more punching bags however as I like to train my kicks.

The location is very good because this is the only gym that is somewhat near my house. The manager is nice and gave me a discount on my membership. Equipment is often scattered around the gym and not put away. It always feels really warm inside. The worst part is that it is always full of people so you have to work around people to get a workout in.

Awful cancellation process. I called twice because they kept charging me after cancelling. They said it was taken care of but over a year later I figure out I am still being charged and they arent giving money back.

Very nice gym with tons of parking. The membership fees are fantastic compared to other local gyms and the staff is very nice. All of the equipment is new and theres something for everyone there (minus a swimming pool and tennis courts).

Its a large gym, shower pressure is good and there is a lot of equipment, couldnt find a Roman chair or straight pull up bar? Although, I think its priced a bit too high honestly and not being 24 hours when it counts (weekends) is a real bummer. Everyone in the locker room was complaining about the weekend hours. Because of the late to open early to close hours it gets more packed than it should on the weekends and its frustrating to everyone.

I’ve been with them since they opening in Carmel Valley! It’s used be nice place for work out! But in the recent one and two years, they haired lots of incapable and unqualified employees who dragged their customer services to unpleasant level. No matter on the phone or at their front desk, most of time they were rude, unprofessional and unhelpful.

Good rates and location. Yes there are lots of weights... but there is literally 1 free weight rack (squat rack)... two more smith machines but the hell... 1? Only gym is new but the padding on the benches is ridiculously firm, its barely comfortable at all. Lastly, there is a crossfit vibe.. which is fine until 90% of the machines are pathetic momentum based jokes... Please can someone open a gym here with the essentials with their peripheral machines...

This is a relatively new gym. They have tons of classes you can attend, a good amount of free weights and machines to pick from. I appreciate the ample amount of cardio equipment. My only complain is the mens restroom, specifically the showers which need help. The handles for the doors have deteriorated, so most wont stay shut. Not sure why they cant get this right.

Beautiful facility. Staff is very friendly. TONS of exercise options. Hydro massage and sauna are nice benefits. It is near a high school so it can get congested with kids who hog the equipment around 3-5pm.

Filthy and broken stationary bikes multiplied by anemic coaches. Bonus item - when you try to establish membership here - staff will make their best to make you feel like you are at used car dealership. Try something else - save your day.

I attempted to cancel my membership on June 10 and its currently June 17. I walked in to cancel but they ran out of forms so they told me to email my info to them and they would cancel it for me. They still didnt cancel my membership after 7 days so I called them again and an employee told me to email. So basically this entire company is purposefully scamming their customers to suck as much money as possible from each member before they leave the gym. Thanks for the gains Crunch Carmel Valley but you need to fix your operation.

Facility is nice and newer equipment. No steam room or pool. Seems to be crowded usually between 4 and 7 everyday so its hard to workout. Kids/teenagers abound.

I’ve been at Julia’s Zumba classes at this location for ~ 2 years. In the beginning I couldn’t really follow the steps but now I really enjoy her classes. Just need to keep trying (not get frustrated) and keep moving with the music.I was at last Thursday’s class and I thought what Julia was trying to do was to move her from the end of the 1st row to the 2nd row so that she could see Julia better. (The end of the 1st row is kind of hard to follow the instructor because you keep your neck turned to watch the instructor while moving your body.) I hope she will come back to try Zumba classes at Crunch.

Terrible to non-existent wifii! Before you join just want you to consider that almost 100% of the time there is no or extremely slow wifii. That means you cant text, or listen to any music while you work out. I cant even login to my workout program most of the time. On top of that verizon has a dead spot there - not the gyms fault, but seriously put in better wifii. This isnt 1997. Also they dont care, if you tell the staff, it isnt like they dont know.I appreciate that you responded, I really do! Maybe there is something I dont understand but in the businesses in the area, right next door, in the same complex, their wifii is very fast. Cant you add more routers, etc?Also if you workout with free weights. Walk around the gym. There are almost no 5 and 10 lb free weights. People almost fight over them. Get more!!! Every time I do a free weight exercise use I have to rob another station. Just check it out before you join.Update:Thank you for responding but I dont buy it. All the other businesses in the same center that have wifii it is fast and strong, Starbucks of course is at gigaspeed, but the others work fine. Yours is literally a joke, cant even send a text. Maybe you can get some boosters... just warning BEFORE you join, if you want or need internet. Here is what I mean, I use an app to track my workouts, cant access it while working out. Fast reliable WiFi. Amazing staff and awesome equipment. Just do not join Crunch if you can avoid it. They never ever fixed any of the issues I mentioned and never even responded to my requests or even the promises I made. They do make good excuses however. 💪

I was at one of the Zumba classes yesterday and specifically the class of Julia. It was my first time so I was not able to follow all the fast Movments and I was standing at the first line. Julia was so rude she came to me and pull me from the first line and put me in the back in front of all the class. I told her I can’t see her if I go there but she totally ignored me. Later on there was another girl who during the dance went to drink some water and guess what Julia ( the trainer) in front of all the glass told her you can not do that while we are dancing you are destructing me you have to wait till I finish my dance. The girl was so embarrassed she and her mom both left the class immediately. This trainer is not a good fit for a good place like crunch. The Mangment has to do something.

It’s a gym with expensive membership !!The bathroom it’s super dirtyNot the best place to find good parking ever ,parking is a bit tricky!The staff people not everybody are nice some of them are not very professional !! the instructor that work there are not knowledgeable one of them cause me injured in my first session that I had to go to see a dr.There is no pool it seems like no one is really overseeing or organize this place!!The WiFi not working well and some areas not working at all ...If you go early in the early morning sometime people fighting because there is no music and people talking loud on the phones and if there is no Wi-Fi to hear your favorite music 🎵 then people start to argue!!! I see those guys they argue and fight in there.

Reasonablely priced local gym, mid-range equipment, has a hot sauna.The wifi setup is below average and often flakey and has poor coverage.If you are a serious weight lifter, you probably would go to Worlds Gym or Golds; but Crunch can get the job done.

Price is fairly high but the gym is clean and not TOO busy. No pool but everything else you need.

So far so good at the new Crunch. Its provided a welcome and less-expensive alternative to Bay Club -- and unlike Bay Club, whose rates rise annually, the dues are fixed here. More weights and machines, fewer self-absorbed losers, more cash in my pocket. Whats not to like?

When I decided it was time to cancel, I was treated unfairly.

Over priced for what you get. Not sure why they keep putting fliers on peoples cars in their own parking lot, but probably because they are starved for business.

This place is not with OSHA compliance, I brought that to the management of the hygiene of the place , but they did not take any action . Had to cancel my member ship . Tips place should get closed before anyone one get skin infection or any other skin transmitted disease.
