The Dr and Staff are top notch. They take the time to explain any questions. They care and are so respectful. After a few unpleasant experiences trying to establish vet care in San Diego, after a military cross country move, I read a military spouse post on this establishment. I couldn’t be more grateful. We had a unique situation with our dog and it went from being stressful to knowing we were in good hands. This establishment is the vet care you want at a very affordable price.

They always take great care of my nervous pup! And I don’t feel like they are charging me an arm and a leg. Fair pricing for excellent care! 10/10 recommend!

One Saturday morning our little puppy got sick.We called everywhere and were unable to get an appointment. Even the Vet Emergency Rooms were at capacity and wouldnt see our puppy.Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital made an exception and saw our puppy right away without an appointment.They have been kind, patient, and much more affordable than other vets weve visited.They are now our go to vet and were so happy to have found them.

I had an appointment with another veterinary hospital that misinformed me and cancelled my appointment last minute. I found Tierrasanta and it literally felt like a gift from above! They didn’t hesitate to get me in that same day and I had the best experience. I wasn’t sure how my dog would handle going in alone with people In masks, but they made her comfortable and were so sweet. Real, down to earth people and phenomenal care. I also paid significantly less than I’d expected to pay. This will be my dog’s forever Vet. Thanks loves.

Its so refreshing to have human to human (for the pet mamas and dads) interaction and feel like your fur baby is getting the same love at the vet as they do at home! I have been meaning to make this post since the first call I made to this vet office. The staff is incredible! I can’t express the amount of help they have been for my German Shepard and his anxiety dealing with vet offices. They planned my visit quick, when there were no other dogs coming in, they helped me walk him in and they even had me come in for a visit just to get to know him for free. My dog did so poorly at the previous vet we went to and was so scared but he slept during his appointment here and let them examine him no problem. The office is clean and the doctor was so knowledgeable as well as all the other staff. I also had to call because I dropped the ball and ran out of a prescription for my dog and they wrote one immediately for pickup without any problems. My records were transferred from the previous vet by them so I didn’t even have to deal with that. I highly recommend this office! They go above and beyond 100%!!! I’m so mad it took me so long to sit down and write a review. The prices are also pretty great! If you are going somewhere else I highly recommend changing to this office :)

Was frantically looking for a clinic in order to get my pups health certificate to fly and they managed to squeeze us in and definitely saved our lives! Would definitely recommend to my family down here

Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital is amazing. i have so much trust in the staff there, and the doctor is absolutely amazing. they’re fair and honest, and really great with my dogs.

Dr. S and her team were AMAZING with our big, anxious boy. They lent us a scarf with calming pheromones before we walked him into the office. The exam room had a calming plug in, a calming oil diffuser, and a basket of different treats to coax him with. They fed him the baby carrots we brought for him. Dr. S was able to take him back to the exam area to examine him and administer his shots without any problem. They also go over the bill BEFORE doing anything, so you’re not surprised by it at the end. So glad they’re close to home.

I bring my two yorkies there, after having a terrible experience with another vet. They are always nice and really show the care that they have for your furbabies. They are gentle and soft spoken. They tell you how to care for your kids so they will feel and get better soon. I would recommend this place if you want the care for your family member.

My first experience with Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital was wonderful. My rescue feline CJ needed attention and Dr. Schexneider and her staff were there to provide help immediately. This veterinary hospital is absolutely wonderful. The receptionist is very kind and has a cute dog that likes to sit up there and greet as well. The nurse that assisted me and my kitty was so sweet, she answered all the extra questions I forgot to ask the veterinarian herself. Dr. Schexneider was wonderful, hands down the best vet Ive ever taken my kitty to. She was very honest and straightforward about prices, she was so sweet and loving to my little kitty. 5 stars, I highly recommend them, theyre the only place I felt comfortable leaving my cat overnight.Added Edit: they have these cute bandanas you can use for your doggies to help ease anxiety.

My pets are always first and are always provided the best care. And my babies love coming here. I 100% recommend bringing your fur babies here because you’ll be rest assured they are taken care of. I boarded them here and they had a great time and were cared for so well.

Dr and staff are very nice. I would love to continue to use them but I feel they run to many unnecessary tests that are taken to often.The longer she practices I’m sure she willbe able to answer these questions with out costly tests to support a simple diagnosis.

After months of internet searches and tearful research, I called Michelle’s office to ask about their pet euthanasia services. As difficult as the decision was we set an appointment. Immediately after entering the staff were friendly. They gave us a private exam room where Michelle went over our dogs history and recent concerns. She detailed what the euthanasia process. This was one of the most difficult decisions my family has ever had to do. There was no pressure, no rush and they all offered words of comfort when everything came to an end. We received the most beautiful hand written card with an ink paw print and laminated nose prints.I would recommend Michelle and her staff for any pet owner. They will treat your pet like their own family 💕

My fur baby Anastasia got a check up today and she was a little nervous. Thankfully the staff and Vet on site were helpful and came to the rescue! The staff gave her a Fear free bandana that has pheromones which relaxed my fur baby. All of the staff were so friendly!!! 🙌💜💜💜 My fur baby is well taken care of and we have a follow up appointment next week! Yay!

Just moved here abt a month ago. Went here and got X-rays and pain Rx and allergy Rx. I have to say that after just 2 doses I notice a HUGE improvement with my dog due to his allergies! The vet was very informative about my dogs medical needs and provided information on the surgical location. I am very happy here and will be using them as my regular vet. 🙂

Right now I am on a walker after back surgery, and yesterday two staff members went out of their way to help me get my cat carrier back into my car. Dr Luke and her staff take excellent care of my furbaby! From the time you walk in, you feel like family. Dr. Luke recommends only what is needed to keep your loved one healthy. I have never felt pressured to buy something, In fact she is always upfront with costs. Youre given a treatment plan with a itemized quote. When my baby was getting her spay surgery, I was given a beeper and kept up to date. I even got calls from both Dr Luke and staff checking on us after Hollys surgery. We love this family vet care. You dont find many places who treat the whole family so well. I highly recommend Dr Luke and this staff.

We were having some separation anxiety with our dog after moving cross country, and I was able to get a Saturday appointment, which was great. I saw older reviews about Dr. Luke on here and it made me nervous. However I can guarantee you that this doctor no longer works here as the new vet, Dr. S bought the practice in July 2016. She is great and we felt very optimistic after our visit. They even have choices for them to keep our dog during the day that definitely beats the prices of other doggy day care places.

When I was traveling with my dog and he got sick, I brought him into this veterinary clinic. They were very accommodating and took care of him even though I did not have an appointment. I was impressed with the staff who were very friendly to my dog before we saw the doctor. After some tests, the doctor reassured me that he was fine and gave me some medication to take home. I appreciated that he took his time to answer all my questions and explain exactly what was going on. True animal lovers at this place and very knowledgeable doctors.

It was my first and last visit to this veterinary hospital. The nurses were all outstanding and extremely nice. My german shepherd had been itching her ears so I made a next day appointment. The doctor I saw (the lady) walked in with a list of roughly $500 worth of things she wanted to do to my dog, and would not even look at my dog before I approved of the list for her. It was infuriating. She wouldnt even look at my dogs ear prior to me giving an answer to her crazy list of items that she was trying to sell me. I finally looked her in the eye and said I was leaving. They ended up charging me the $65+ cost just to walk through the door, and they never once looked at my poor dog.--Edit-- Dr. Schexneider, after quickly looking up your name, I instantly recognized you as the doctor with whom I had my bad experience. Im sorry, but I will not be rescinding this review. You spoke to me about various costs without ever looking at my dogs ears, and after I was in tears, I got up, walked to the front desk, you awkwardly stared at me as I checked out, and the nurse looked frightened. You never provided me or my dog with services, and only spoke of the ever increasing cost of potential services you could provide to my dog, without previously identifying what was wrong with her. I went somewhere else the next day, and my dog was well taken care of, the people were wonderful, and I ended up paying only $150 total for the medicines and visit, as that was all that was required to help my dog with her issue.

I listen about this hospital from my friends. So i visited this hospital with my pet. They offer great service. Now I am member of this hospital from quite long time. I know Doctors very well, they all are very experienced doctor and handled every case very seriously. I am really satisfied with their service and will recommended this hospital to all of you.

We have had two experiences so far and both have been excellent. After having our 2 year old husky only about a month, she stopped eating, totally, for about 2 1/2 days. We were very worried. The doctor discovered that she was full of gas. She gave her something for the gas and, at our request, ran a full series of tests to rule out anything serious. Once the gas was gone, our baby started eating right away at the vets and continued on with some special food. Everything turned out fine.A few weeks later, she got stung by a bee and, since she was very new to us, we didnt know what her reaction might be. The doctor wasnt there at the time, but the tech helped us enormously, getting on the phone with the doctor and discussing what happened and what was going on. It turned out to be fine but it was wonderful having a place to go where we were welcomed as the most important people and dog in the world.

Your pet will be in good hands! Top notch customer care and service! The staff and Dr. Schexneider are thorough and professional! The office is very nice and has plenty of parking. I am so glad we found this place!

This pet hospital was great. Recently though my pet had a pretty bad injury to his paw. They got him in right away and gave me a few options for treatment depending upon my budget, which was really practical.He ended up having surgery with follow up meds and has done great.I appreciate The entire staff was really friendly and knowledgeable.I recommend this Hospital if you want someone whos patience, and has great idea to help with your pets to get better!!!

Such an excellent animal hospital where I took my pet dog a couple of times. The staffs were very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The veterinary experts took good care of my dog. After the treatment, she started behaving like before. It was a pleasant experience with them. I will highly recommend this veterinary hospital for any kind of emergencies.

The staff at Tierrasanta Vet Hospital are very kind and nice, I feel like they are a part of my family. I know all their names, and can even pronounce “Dr. Schexneider” sometimes, ha. I chose this office over other offices in the area because they have later hours. I like the office itself, there is cool animal art on the walls, and calming scent diffusers in each room. Some services there are cheaper than quotes I’ve received from other offices. I feel like this office genuinely cares about my doggie and provides us with better care than I would have ever imagined.

Dr. Luke is great. She saved my dog. She saw us walk in and in the process saying she noticed his gums werent the right color. Long story short, he needed his spleen removed. The surgeon said he wouldnt have lived a few more days like that, if we hadnt brought him into her we probably wouldnt have figured out until it was too late.

Excellent vet. I have been using them for years for all my pets and I wouldnt go anywhere else. We love Dr. Luke!

We are new puppy owners and wanted to check out the two Veterinary Clinics here in Tierrasanta. Dr Schexneider and Jan Cizik at the Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital spent an hour and a half with us answering all of the our questions. We were so comfortable with them and the program they laid out for us we looked no farther.

I have a big lab who likes to eat weird things like blankets and bathrobes. We were on vacation in San Diego and my lab ate something in my car that made him extremely ill. Since we are from out of town, we had no idea where to go. The hotel suggested that we go here and it was awesome! It was just like if we were at home. The staff loved on my dog and the doctor was really nice and gave my dog excellent care. I am so glad they were there and could get us in on such short notice. Thanks so much!!

I had my dog micro-chipped here and it was a much more pleasant experience than I had imagined. The staff was very friendly to both me and my dog and the process of putting the microchip in was very quick and my dog didnt even wince or whine so there was little to no pain in it. Incredibly helpful staff! I visited Sand Diego last year, with my dog - Lori. As with every cocker spaniel, she loves to eat everything and she got into trouble after eating some piece of garbage. I took my dog to Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital (the one near Haagan.) During my visit I was left waiting for over 2.5 hours. I strongly felt that Dr. Luke was making sales on me, and not considering treating my dog, but adding additional unnecessary costs to my bill. She even pressured me by saying I would have to sign a form stating that I was going against doctors orders (a form which they never brought) and the worst part was when I got home I found that they didnt include two of the medications I had paid for. I called the next day to ask for the medications at which time I was told that since I left, the price of the medication had gone up and to receive the medicines (that I already had a receipt for) i would have to pay an additional $88 dollars for it. After four days, 7-8 phone calls, and arguing I finally got the medication. Worst customer service experience I have ever had. Not to mention the office was filthy. I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM TAKING THEIR PETS HERE.

Dr. Luke and her staff are by far the best in San Diego, I have been to many other clinics in the San Diego area that try to just take money from you. I will never take my dogs anywhere as but Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital, the quality of medicine and customer service separate them from any other animal hospital in San Diego County.

The staff here is very polite... HOWEVER, I will never go back here OR recommend this vet to anyone. We took our puppy in to have her spaying incision re-sutured and we bought their Puppy Package which was supposed to include ALL vaccines our puppy would need for her first year. Yet every subsequent time we took her in for her vaccines, there was ALWAYS some new (hidden) fee or vaccine/service that she needed that we hadnt already paid for. Even after having complained over the phone for the better part of an hour about their lack of communication about what IS and is NOT included in their packaging, the very next time we took her in, there was yet another estimate for over $130 just because our puppy had an ear infection. We have only had our puppy two months and we have already paid close to $1050 to this vet. They are completely over priced and I feel they take advantage of people who simply want their animals healthy and cared for properly.

So I recently moved to San Diego. I work as a F18 electrician in the Marines and tend to travel a lot. My husband and my dog moved in with me in military housing and are just settling in. Within 2 weeks of moving to San Diego I noticed my dog was always whining as if she was in a lot of pain. I wasnt familiar with the San Diego area and I didnt have any friends or family members to give me any recommendations on Veterinarians so I took to the internet.On google reviews people said this place was amazing and very loving to animals. I wouldnt say I am on a super budget but I also dont want it to cost me an arm and a leg. On my appointment I spoke to the technician about what needed to be done to my dog and prices. They told me we could get my dogs ears cleaned for $300 . My dog also needed to get her teeth done but that would be $600 plus the $300 for the ears. She worked with me a bit more and said if I did the ears and teeth at the same time that it would be $600 for both. I told her I would call my husband and ask first.Within half an hour I got back to her and told her I would do the $600 for both teeth and ears. Since I was also active in the military I asked if they offered a military discount? They said yes they had a 5% discount. I thought that was unfair. I go shop at Lowes and get 10% for being in the military. 5% doesnt even cover tax. But I got over it fast . Who cares about military discount, my dog wont be in pain for much longer.When I finally got the bill I was shocked! They charged me a little over $900!!! I spoke to the girl Dee who worked there because apparently Dr. Luke wasnt in. Dee told me that because I waited half an hour to give them an answer that they had already put the appointment in as a single ear cleaning and the dental separate instead of together like the technician had told me. Dee had the nerve to say, Well your dog is taken care of right? Isnt that what really matters? Oh..she is lucky I didnt go off. On top of that I didnt receive my military discount. I have been trying to get a hold of Dr Luke for weeks now but she is either always Too busy or not in to take my calls. If you dont want to be scammed do not come here!

This place screwed me over. They overcharged me by a TON!!!!!! My dog had fleas and they told me I couldnt take her home until I sprayed my house. I could have lost my job because I had to be into work soon. They also cleaned her teeth and come to find out they did a bunch of unnecessary testing just to get more money. The vet bill was HUGE for these two things. They didnt care about my dogs or me.

I went here due to an emergency situation from bee stings with my dog. 1st. they wanted me to pay $400 upfront without even knowing what procedures they needed to do!! when i told them i didnt have a whole lot of money to dish out today, that i could pay some and the rest nexy week, they were VERY firm on NO PAYMENT PLANS and guilted me into applying for their credit card telling me that its the only other way to get him treated! which i was declined due to no credit! so when i asked them if i could just take him home and give him benadryl and keep an eye on him they told me they cannot legally let me take my dog home without being treated!!! (i was just gonna leave and go to another vet, not really take him home) then when i told Dr. Luke i needed to run out to my car and get my cell phone to call my mother for some help she told me that i couldnt leave and that she would get me their portable phone to call her! my dog sat there not being treated for an entire hour because we were trying to figure out how i was going to pay them! so basically, my dog couldnt be treated without over-priced payment, i couldnt take him out of the office without being treated, and i couldnt leave the building to try to figure out a payment method! i ended up having to write a check for money i didnt have just to get my pet back! i was held against my own will, and broke down in tears in the pet room. i was emtionally, and financially inconvenienced and their main concern was NOT my animal, it was their money! yet they make you feel like a bad pet owner if you simply dont have the kind of money they were asking for. so i came home and filed a complaint with the better business bureau. after i filed the complaint, i was curious to see what they BBB has said about them, and turns out they arent even BBB accredited!!!! figures! Dr. Luke is pushy, selfish, money hungry, arrogant, a liar and a straight up B@$CH!!!! she treats her staff like dog meat. ONE receptionist had compassion for my situation and wanted to help me out and Luke snapped at her for doing so!!! never ever again will i take my pet here again and neither should you!!!

They will charge way to much and make you feel very bad if you dont pay for the stuff they suggest, even though you know you cant afford it and most likely your pet does not need it!
