I had an amazing experience at San Diego Smile Center! The dental hygienists were so nice and explained everything that was happening. Dr. Cortez was welcoming and made me feel comfortable. He explained everything well and I could tell he really enjoys his work. Everyone at this practice values patient education which is extremely helpful when deciding what’s best for my own health. Highly recommend!

First timer! Everyone was so welcoming and if I had any questions they did not hesitate to answer. I use to dread getting the X-rays done for my teeth but the lady who help me was so gentle. I also like how through they were with my teeth and also gave me recommendations with not feeling pressure. Best of all you can break down your visits to smaller ones if it’s too pricey. Can’t wait to come again to get my issues taken care of!

Im a nervous wreck when it comes to my teeth. Im terrified of the dentist and everything about it. But I want to smile again so I put on a somewhat brave face and made an appointment with them.The dental hygienist is such a sweet person. She cleaned my teeth and made sure I was okay during the process, she also gives great advice.I made an appointment last Thursday for my wisdom tooth because it was bothering me. I was getting cold feet and I was going to cancel on getting my wisdom tooth extracted, I was told it was only going to take 30 minutes and would be able to head back to work afterward, so I went for it because I know I wouldnt follow up on it if I didnt go through it.I was nervous and shaking, but Dr. Cortes and his team made sure I was comfortable and okay every step of the way. He let me know what to expect and also informed me of every thing he was doing during the procedure. I honestly dont know what I was expecting while getting my wisdom tooth extracted, but he got in there and got that out with ease. I was like... What thats it!?! I was relieved. Dr. Cortes is very good at what he does and his actions show it.Everyone was friendly, kind, respectful, and efficient. The office is clean. The whole experience was great from start to end. I highly recommend this place.

Person dealing with Appointments is very rude and inconsiderate who talks in a very condescending manner.Doesnt entertain any requests to help customers, cancels appointments and hangs the phone on you.Very disappointing experience.

This place was not only respectful, clean, and courteous, but also super friendly and helpful. I do not like going to the dentist in the first place, but they made super to make you feel comfortable and answer all your questions. Definitely excited to have found a place that I actually enjoy going to and feel like they care for my dental health without rushing me or treating me like just another number for them.

Honestly, best dentist experience Ive ever had. The staff are extremely welcoming and kind, attentive to your needs and very helpful. The facility is also very clean and has the required precautions for a safe visit. I was extremely satisfied with the cleaning I had done, the staff and Bianca were very careful and gentle and I experienced no discomfort whatsoever during my cleaning. I starting going to Dr. Cortes a year ago when I had a concern with my molar. I used to avoid the dentist for my life, but meeting Dr. Cortes completely changed that around for me.He explains the concerns with my dental health clearly and suggests a treatment path professionally while addressing any personal concerns I have.What I enjoy the most with my interactions and appointments with Dr. Cortes is his passion towards his line of work and his dedication to the betterment of his patients dental health.I started taking my mom to address her dental concerns, and she raves about Dr. Cortes attention to detail and the high standards he holds for the crown fitting. I was unaware of the pain my mom was dealing with regarding her dental health, but with Dr. Cortes treatment shes let me know shes able to eat once again! Dr. Cortes knew exactly what she was feeling as hes had his share of subpar dentistry, and he makes sure that his work is superb. And it most definitely is! My crown fit perfectly and looks amazing (by amazing I mean it looks like the rest of my teeth!).The staff that works there are superb too! Highly friendly, understanding, supportive and helpful! First interactions with Dr. Cortes wife, Anaissa, put me at ease for my treatment as she was able to address my concerns (especially around dental insurance) which set the course to where we are now with my mom.This place is really the whole package!

I had an overall good experience. Staff was very friendly and created a welcoming environment. The dental work seemed to be top notch based on the little that I know. I do wish I was given more information about products before I was encouraged to pay for them, however.

I am the biggest baby when it comes to the dentist so when I heard I needed a shot for a procedure I was terrified. But this dental office put ALL my fears to rest. Everyone in the office was so patient, kind and understanding. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable offering my a blanket, a fan and taking all the time I needed without rushing me once. And the shot I was worried about was literally PAIN FREE. I couldnt feel it AT ALL. I didnt feel a single thing during the procedure. Everyone in that office is so cheerful, funny and SO NICE. I will never go to another dentist EVER again. I have found my dentist for life. If I could give him 100 stars I would. He put up with me being an anxious, nervous wreck and i am forever thankful for him for that.

I had a great experience here. They are very knowledgeable and accommodating. It was right before places started shutting down due to Covid. SD Smile Center was not taking routine patients, but the doctor was willing to see me because I was in pain. Fixed me up and Ive been good since. Even the two times Ive been in for teeth cleaning, the hygienist has given me great practical advice for better teeth care. The front desk is also very welcoming and efficient. I would definitely recommend.

The clean atmosphere was refreshing, but the kindness and attentiveness of Dr. Cortes and his staff were exceptional. They communicate each action, explain in detail, and offer options. They ensure you are comfortable (details such as sunglasses and a headrest that accommodated my ponytail!). it is obvious the staff respects and relies on each other - they were eager to discuss and learn from a unique situation. I had my one chipped tooth fixed and it feels as good as new. I will be returning for future dental needs, happy knowing I am getting most excellent care. I cannot recommend Dr. Cortes and his practice highly enough.

Absolutely amazing experience from the moment you walk through the door. They’re very organized, efficient, and friendly. They check up on you a lot if they send you on a referral to make sure you were taken care of. They really came through for us when our previous dentist wasn’t picking up and my husband and I had a dental emergency. Now, we go to them and I will be taking my toddler to them as well. A+ across the board and the fact that they’re a family-run business is a plus for me. I see how they interact and care for their family and they treat their patients the same way.

I had a good experience with my initial visit and first deep cleaning.I received cleaning on half of my mouth today. There is a little pinch of discomfort in the gums here and there when they clean between teeth, granted it has been a couple years since I’ve received cleaning. The discomfort subsides quickly. I can see/feel the difference between my clean side and my other side. Bianca was rather friendly and did a good job in cleaning my teeth. I’m getting the other half of my mouth done in a couple of days.

Dr. Cortes is extremely personable and caring. I avoided coming to the dentist for years, because Ive had some dismissive and even rude dentists in the past. Im so glad I was recommended to him. The dental hygienist I have is really kind, too. They always do great work, and between them all, including his wife as office manager, they are attentive and have gotten to know me and my needs. I really appreciate it. Theyve helped me navigate insurance, alternative approaches, etc.

Dr. Paulo Cortes is just simple awesome! He is very nice, patient, easy to talk to, and personable. His office is very nice and clean, the staffs makes us feel welcome everytime we come in. Everyone there are so good with my kids who are 5 and 10 years old. We recently had two teeth extraction and some fillings done for my 10 year old, and Dr. Paulo Cortes did an amazing job! He also does orthodontic work inhouse, which we are ecstatic about because my daughter will need to get braces soon. We are very happy we found them and we will be coming back!

I love coming to this Dentist Office. It has a family environment and they practice safe COVID-19 protocols. I am able to call and schedule appointments at my convenience which was a hassle with other dentists in the past. This give me confidence that I remain on track with my Invisaline service. I am always able to get the information I need to make an informed decision in regards to my process.I started off with very noticeable gaps behind my canines (the vampire teeth ha). And now only 3 months in my treatment, they are practically closed.They do such a great job at this location.I have gotten fillings that look natural and white, instead of the old silver looking ones.I have had my teeth cleaned and whitened at this location. Every-time the I arrive the staff greets me by name and are consistently professional.Thank you for helping to keep me and my family safe.

I always have a great experience here. I have been coming to this office for over 2 years now and have 0 bad things to say. Always friendly and welcoming. Also love the music that they play. Every time I find my self rocking my feet to the jams. :)Edit 11/10/20 - I missed my appointment today and apparently they charge a $50 missed appointment fee. Ive personally never heard of a place charging money for a missed appointment. Sadly I will be taking my business elsewhere. Good luck to them.

Just scheduled my appt. online and received a call to confirm within 20 minutes. I spoke to an Anaissa (sorry if I butcher that) and all the anxiety and stress of finding a new Dentist disappeared in seconds. I havent even gone for my appointment yet, and I feel so welcome and at ease. If the Dentist is as great as the customer service, I know I have nothing to worry about.

My daughter had a traumatic experience with a dentist years ago, and has been terrified ever since. She had a tooth ache and I told her to try Dr. Cortes if she became uncomfortable at all we could leave. I want to tell you she said this was the best experience she could have had at a dentist. A poorly done crown from my previous dentist that had left me in discomfort because there was still a cavity underneath the crown that was not filled. He replaced my crown and filled in my cavity. After we experienced how good of a dentist Dr. Cortes is, we moved our two young teenagers under his care. He is extremely thorough and he takes pride with what he does for a reason. He never settles for an okay job. He only wants perfect results. Our family has had multiple dental works and was always happy with the outcome.

Prices are to high, you pay $6000.00 and then dentures don’t fit right. Then they want another $3000.00 to fix it. They seem to be learning when it comes to dentures. Very disappointed in follow up.

Dr. Cortes and his staff provide excellent dental care! My experience with the hygienist, Alison, has been top-notch! She is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She is very thorough in my cleanings, but also gentle and she continually checks in to make sure I am doing okay. Alison also takes the time to explain what shes doing and why and she explains/demonstrates the proper way I should be caring for my teeth at home. Also, I have 2 dental implants that need special care and the staff has always made it a priority to help keep my implants in perfect condition (cleaning, x-rays, etc). Ive also noticed that Dr. Cortes and his staff are not too quick to jump in to do fillings and other invasive treatments (if not absolutely necessary). For me, they suggested a watch and wait approach for some potential cavities, while recommending I increase my cleaning regimen at home to see if the cavities would restore themselves--I am so thankful for this approach! Finally, the front office staff is very friendly and helpful as well! Overall, this is a fantastic dental office and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

I had severe tooth pain. This place had amazing reviews, so I came in for a check up. I haven’t been in awhile so my slight fear of the dentist came into affect as i sat down. But quickly was distinguished by how nice and pleasant they were! This place is very professional and they have superb teamwork. I guarantee you will love going here. They are extremely fast and they have a passion for what they do. I honestly hated going to the dentist as a child. But I love it here. -Roman

He was honest with me and didnt try to sell me on additional care. Great job from beginning to end! I actually switched over to them full time since I had such a positive experience.

So thankful that my family has found Dr Cortes’ office and his excellent team. They quickly helped identify problems with my daughters teeth, helped with a referral and provided excellent followup. She said she likes going to the dentist now. For myself, Dr Cortes identified and fixed issues with a chipped tooth and took time to figure out why it was a repeating problem and fixed it when my other dentist told me I’d have to live with it!! He also repaired some old fillings and made sure they were done right. I have high confidence in his skill and trust his recommendations. They presented exactly how much services would cost at the time I set up the appointment. His team of assistants are very careful and thorough. Dr Cortes’ office will impress you too!

Great service, very accommodating with scheduling and the hygienist that worked on me was very gentle. My mother worked in a dental office when I was a kid and I remember how easy and common it is to be rough during dental care. If you are looking for a dentist I would certainly recommend this office.

Ive been very happy with the San Diego Smile Center. The dentist, Dr. Cortes, does a good job, the receptionist is friendly and the dental hygienist is very thorough and always does a great job cleaning my teeth.

Finding a good dentist is hard and after procrastinating for over 3 years my husband and I tried Dr. Cortes. We were both pleasantly surprised at the warm and caring staff. Our initial visit was the routine check with x-rays. There was no condemnation for having gone so long without dental care. It was a great visit. Then we both went back for specific work. I had 4 cavities that needed fixing. Dr. Cortes was very knowledgeable and gentle. Didnt feel the numbing shot at all. The work was done in a professional manner. We are very pleased with our new dentist.

My Family Dentist. The staff is always helpful and courteous. I have been going here for years at this point. I love the little things they do, like text messaging about appointments. I couldnt think of going someplace else. I would say if you are in the market for a Dentist, you should try here.
