Very happy to have found Dr. Chan & can’t recommend him enough. After my initial visit, his staff had a printout of the work I needed done showing what my insurance would cover & what I would need to pay out of pocket which was very helpful. I have terrible anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist and Dr. Chan & his staff are extremely understanding and supportive of that. Dr. Chan does a wonderful job of making sure you’re aware of everything that is going on and making sure you’re okay throughout any procedure. I did end up needing two urgent visits for fillings - he & his staff were quick to get me in as soon as possible which was very much appreciated. Still not a big fan of going to the dentist but it’s not as bad going to see Dr. Chan!

My experience at Classic Dental Smiles was one of the best I have had in a dental capacity. The staff was friendly and very efficient. They were willing to take the time to answer all my questions and explain their policies.Dr. Chan was not only an excellent dentist but had a very calming presence. Ive been on the hunt for a good dentist pretty much my entire adult life since moving to San Diego. Dr. Chan is the first doctor that took his time to listen to my concerns, and make a common sense approach to addressing my oral health. Finally I did not feel like my dentist was guessing, and I felt confident in my treatment plan. I come from a family with a dental background, so I know doctors like this are a diamond in the rough. I am just happy to finally have landed here after many attempts all over the county. Excellent experience.Dr. Chan took the time to thoroughly explain all issues and gave me a rundown of what needed to be taken care of immediately and what could wait. I liked that there were pictures and x-rays to reference on a large screen as each issue was being discussed.The office is very clean, staff is friendly, and the equipment looks much more modern than your average Dental office. Highly recommend!! I had the most thorough initial exam of my life here plus the most fast and painless fillings! The doctor was kind and answered each of my questions thoroughly. I was very anxious to have a procedure done on a very sensitive molar. Dr Chan was so patient with me answering all my questions, several times. It took me a long time to finally make the appointment; the procedure was quick, painless and he did such a great job! I am so happy! I can now drink liquids that are colder than room temperature! I LOVE Dr. Chan and his team. Sonja always makes me feel welcome when I call or have an appointment. Ive had both Hygienists, Julie and Kelly, and they are both wonderful and gentle.As someone who gets more and more nervous about the dentist as I get older (which I feel like should be the opposite), I really appreciate a team that makes me feel comfortable. They dont even go out of their way to do so, thats just the way way are. Ive had a couple fillings and replacement fillings done, and its never a bad experience. Dr. Chan even calls you to check in on you at night!I had waited a while before I had insurance that would cover my visits here, and in that time I had tried three different dentists. Exhausted, I just paid out of pocket for a cleaning with Dr. Chan, and it was such a difference versus the other dentists. Finally, I got the right insurance, and I havent looked back. Honestly, I live in the area but if I ever move, Ill keep coming here because its such a wonderful environment.You wont regret coming here, I promise you. Its amazing.

I needed to get some extensive work done, and I had to rush due to Covid. Dr. Chan did a fantastic job breaking the treatment into manageable pieces while working with my insurance budget. The office staff is amazing as well. Sonja went through all the gymnastics of calling my insurance and figuring out what was and wasnt covered so we could further optimize the treatment plan. In all the fillings and other work I needed it was the best experience Ive ever had at the dentist. Dr. Chans equipment is state of the art and impressive as well.I would highly recommend anyone to Classic Dental Smiles.

I had a fantastic experience here. I had work on two occaisons and I had a good experience both times. Dr. Chan and Julie were very patient and answered any and all questions that I had. Beyond the high quality services provided here, each and every one of the people working here are quite friendly to all the patients. I think it is especially impressive during this pandemic that the staff are all very committed towards safety and have many safety practices in place to keep the environment comfortable and clean. I was recently forced to quit my childhood family dentist(due to retirement) and definitely was wary about trying someone new. I absolutely wish I would have ventured out sooner. Easily the best dentist I have ever had. I have been looking for a dentist like this for years. Highly skilled and efficient and explains everything clearly. Unlike some other dentists who try to put a crown on your teeth when all you need is a filling, Dr. Chan does not add on additional unnecessary work, but fixes all your dental problems before they get to the point where they get much worse. I enjoyed going to Dr. Chan’s office for dental care. He’s meticulous, patient, and has good bedside manners. My family and I been patients of Dr. Brian Chan for years and have always received excellent care. The office is very modern with all the latest dentistry equipment. Last time I needed a crown, he was able to make it on-site, same day, no more temporary crown or having to wait 2 weeks. More recently I had 2 fillings done and Dr. Chan made quick work of the process and had them completed in less than an hour while still ensuring maximum patient comfort. All in a lunch break:Dr. Chan and his staff are awesome. They are friendly, proficient and fast! I had a painful broken filling and was able to get an appointment fast. Dr. Chan fixed my tooth( which ended up having a good sized cavity under the broken filling ) quickly and practically pain free all in the time of a lunch hour. He did a local block that numbed just a couple of teeth and afterwards I ate my lunch ! I’ve never had such a great dental procedure experience. Thank you Dr. Chan and staff!

Dr. Chan was excellent in his dental care. I had to have 2 fillings recently and even though Ive had trouble with numbing agents working well for me, and other dentists starting their work before it started working, Dr. Chan used a new numbing injection agent to make the process less painful and helped me to feel at ease much faster. The fillings themselves were quick and Dr. Chan made sure to shape them in a way that enables me to bite and chew normally right away. The whole process was much faster and painless than expected.The front office and the general process of working with the staff here has also been great!

Luckily my oral health wasnt in shambles, but Dr. Chan recommended I get work done for the few things he did notice, most notably a filling. Dr. Chan and his team are amazing. Ive been putting off going to the dentist for a few years do to multiple bad experiences with a previous dentist. I forgot my headphone adapter at home but Dr. Chan had that covered too! From digital impressions to printing the crown in the office in 30 mins. He also has the latest 3D imaging technology to ensure that all problem areas are found. As an engineer, I truly value someone that invests in these technological improvements!!!I am so grateful that I found him and have told everyone at work to go him. The best dentist ever! I went to my previous dentist for over 25 years and when he retired he recommended Dr. Chan. On my first visit Dr. Chan did a complete review of my teeth. He was very patient and thorough and was able through technology and in calm normal language explain and show me everything about my teeth. In the last two years I have had a crown, a root canal and a filling from Dr. Chan. His confidence and knowledge gives me great comfort. When discussing an upcoming procedure I especially appreciate when he says – “If this was my tooth this is what I would want done”. Going to the dentist can sometimes make me anxious but I was happy that there was never a negative change to an office I had come to trust for so many years. I like this Dentist since day 1. Everybody is friendly, respectful and you feel very welcome. Ive been seeing Dr. Chan for over 3 years. I recently had to go in to have a filling re-done. At the end of the appointment, he wanted to run some x-rays to see if I may need a root canal, since he spotted something suspicious. Sure enough, results came back showing that I needed a root canal.A few things regarding the root canal...1) He called me that same night (8PM?) walking me through it along with the pictures. Ive had another doctor do that with me in the past, which I thought was above and beyond. Point being, I thought it was above and beyond that Dr. Chan took the time to call me when he was off the clock to walk me through it. It wasnt even a quick hey, you need a root canal - have a good night! It was a decent-length conversation because I remember running on the treadmill for a good 15-20 minutes whilst talking to him. He was helpful in managing my expectations regarding the root canal.2) Prior to this, I just remembered cringing every time i heard the word root canal, because it sounds horrible albeit knowing nothing about it. I was concerned that it was going to be a brutal experience. Honestly, it really wasnt. There was zero pain and discomfort during the operation and post-operation, despite him advising me that I may need to take some painkillers (please note, though, that your mileage may vary here). I just felt like I was going in for a normal procedure that lasted a long time haha. To mitigate that, he did offer me some Beats headphones so that I could listen to music to help the time go by, which definitely was nice. I think the next step he can make is mount a TV on the ceiling so that we can watch stuff (one can dream, right?)3) I was concerned about the cost since it was discussed during my phone call with Dr. Chan. Sonja was super responsive via email regarding the pricing of it. I did read the negative comment left by someone on Yelp regarding the lack of clear communication from the front stuff. I can sympathize with that individual and can agree that it would have been helpful if the front office clearly communicated that I am in or out of network. I wasnt blindsided by the cost, though, since a fellow coworker had advised me that Dr. Chan is considered out of network. (shouldnt it also be the patients responsibility in determining which provider is in or out of network?)All in all, I like Dr. Chan and his staff. Theyre very warm and friendly. I liked that he was playing Christmas music when I went in in December. He also seems to have some pretty cool tech for his dental equipment/devices. He seems pretty family oriented, too, given the entertaining and cute pictures that are posted in the office. Lastly, as a fan of interior design, I like some of the other artwork and the double sliding, frosted glass barn doors.

Our family loves the level of service and care from Dr. Chan and his team. His approach is very comforting and informative. Our 5 year old son (at the time) was able to have his fillings done by Dr. Chan, and I attribute that to all of the staff gently reassuring and helping him understand what was happening. Dr. Chan and his staff are exceptional at what they do! I have no complaints from the front office to the back office. They all are very patient and understanding. Which these days is unheard of. Everyone in our household goes to this dentist office. From child to adult. I love how calm and relaxing their office always is. Sonja and Andrea are the front office gals who are always happy to help. The hygienist Julie and Kelly (hopefully, I spelled their names correctly) are very thorough. For over a year I have known that my crown has not been solid and may possibly have decay underneath. I am the worst when it comes to anesthetic, but knowing how calming and relaxed they all are, put me at ease. I had no issues with the injection, in fact I never even felt it! I was all worked up over nothing. Thank you Dr. Chan for making it painless and enjoyable. Everything else was a breeze from there. The Cerec machine also sped up the process. Instead of having to wait 2 weeks to have my crown made in a lab, then delivered and cemented - my crown only took 45 minutes total! Thank you again Dr. Chan!

I just started with Dr. Chan. Ive been into the office several times in the last few months and theyre on time. My time is valuable to me and they started at the time of my appointment and they finished when they said they would be finished. They use the latest high tech equipment. Its cool and it is efficient. The entire staff is nice, approachable, friendly and professional. Dr. Chan explains everything in laymans terms and I felt like I was responsible for my decisions. He gave me alternatives to my treatments. Also, and this was important to me, he and his staff have a great touch. It doesnt feel like Im just a piece of meat; theyre firm but gentle. Going to Classic Dental has been a great experience. I would recommend them without condition or reservation. If you need a dentist or hygienist in North San Diego county, this is where you should go.

Dr. Chan is very friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive to his patients needs. I recommend him to all my friends and family. Dr. Chan is meticulous and gentle with his work. I recently had an old filling replaced and Dr. Chan was very thorough in explaining my x-rays, the procedure, and the potential risk of having a root canal (the filling itself was deep and close to my nerve). The whole procedure went smoothly and I barely felt any pain; thankfully, no root canal was needed. The staff was also vey kind and patient with explaining my dental insurance coverage. As someone who avoided going to the dentist for 14 years, I was surprised at how good of an experience it could be. The entire staff here is very friendly and caring, the office is very modern and up to date with impressive technology, and everything from cleaning to crowns have been fast and painless with great results. Absolutely the best dentist and staff I have ever been to. I was so lucky to have found this office. I had a lot of problems on my teeth. I needed crowns, filings and possibly root canals. I knew I was going to be spending a lot of money in getting my teeth taken care of so I wanted to make sure it was well done. I was very intimidated to actually go to a dentist and have to hear everything that I needed but Dr. Chan was always extremely professional and he never made me feel judged. He has top equipment and top quality products. I truly feel like I’m getting top quality everything. I have been there about 4-5 times in the last few months and I am so extremely happy with every procedure. I drive all the way from Chula Vista to RB to see Dr. Chan and I haven’t regretted it once. Multiple positives and zero negatives...each person in the office is excellent at their job and kind, which makes the whole experience easy. I like that Brian (Dr. Chan) uses state-of-the-art tools and processes, including 3-D modeling of your head and teeth. These tools enabled him to create a perfect-fit, partial crown for me while I waited! Pretty amazing, not to mention cool. No one on the staff tried to sell me services or unnecessary upgrades, which seems to be common now in dental offices. Finally, Brian was precise yet gentle - enabling me to have a pain-free experience and healthy, nice-looking teeth. I am moving my daughter over to his care.

As many others have commented Dr. Chan and the Classic Dental Smiles team are thorough in their expert care, while having you in and out in no time. I really appreciate how they are able to make the office feel professional and friendly all at once. The biggest barrier for regular dental appointments is often just making the appointment; but the CDS staff makes that easy by scheduling the next regular cleaning before I leave and allowing me to change the appointments via email to fit my schedule. The text and email reminders as the appointment nears help too.

After an accident, I needed a have a tooth redone as it was publically noticeable so I wanted to get it done as soon as possible, and was referred to Dr. Chan by family members.The tooth was redone surprisingly quick, but I found out my childhood fillings also needed to be redone, so began the new process.His professionalism from the onset has remained throughout the repeated treatment, giving a constant reminder that if I have any questions or concerns that I should not hesitate to contact him, and has checked in with me after hours.Even at an hours commute, his exceptional standard of care reduces it to a minor inconvenience.

Excellent service! The dentist and hygienists anticipate your needs when looking at your teeth. They could tell I was nervous just by how my hands tensed and this is the first place Ive been offered headphones during a filling to drown out the sound of the drill (also the first place Ive EVER been so relaxed I almost fell asleep while on the chair). Ive had some excruciating tooth aches in the past and am usually nervous when it comes to drilling but Im never worried with Dr. Chan!

Ive only been to visit Dr. Chan twice, but both times its been an incredibly positive experience. I normally live in Chicago, but came to the studio when I was visiting my parents over breaks. The first was just a routine checkup and teeth cleaning, but my cleaning was incredibly thorough; Ive been to a couple of dentists in the past few years (by virtue of moving around a lot), but this was by far the best one Ive had. The second was to have my fillings redone; I had to get four (or six? A good sign that I couldnt feel every single one of them) fillings redone, and Dr. Chan let me put on headphones and listen to my music the entire time. In fact, it was so easy and painless that I almost fell asleep in the end - something that I didnt know could happen at the dentist! He also called later on that evening to double check (after the anesthesia wore off) that my fillings were even and that everything felt fine.Since I live in Chicago, I also asked Dr. Chan for some recommendations to dentists in my area, and he was extremely helpful in providing a couple of names there too - for sure goes above and beyond in all services.Would recommend this studio to anyone and everyone!
