I loved how nice the staff was, and how comfortable they make you feel. Everytime I have gone here I always fall asleep by myself due to the amount of comfort and care they put in during treatment. I used to be really scared of dentists but now I actually look forward to having naps while I visit. Thank you :)

My opinion is based on my first visit at this location. I give 5 stars because everything went well. The associate who took my X-rays was excellent and the Dr. and her assistant were also excellent. After extra time for signing up as a new patient, and then X-rays and exam, I was hungry, so my Dr. suggested that I eat a small lunch and return for a few repairs. I found this very caring and respectful. I am not a Spring chicken so this break was much needed! Thank you to all at Gentle Dental Sorrento Valley! Ill be back!

Hello, I think there was some sort of mistake. I came to fix a crown a back tooth and it took almost a year to fix it. I had a terrible toothache for almost two weeks. they gave a crown that didnt cover my whole tooth and they told me that I need to make a new appointment. Also, I think the manager was saying unkind words to me. They have very bad customer service 😕terrible 😕😞

The best dental clinic I like how the make us so happy and best result. And I’m so glad that I chooses Gental dental sorreento valley. Hanen and Katy assistant with all love and respect. I like how they treated us. Thank you again.

Incompetence is the main word that I would use to describe this office. My daughter had her teeth cleaned a year ago at another Gental Dental while she was on vacation & found it to be a good experience so she decided to go to a Gentle Dental close to her home. First of all, her x-rays, etc were to be transferred and werent. Then after that was settled, her appointment was changed 4 times by that office!! Granted, 1 of those times was because of Covid-19, but the others werent. At her appointment they insisted she have a deep cleaning. $$$$!!As a retired Dental Hygienist I am aware of what a cleaning entails & am horrified that theyd recommend that for someone who has a couple of pockets. She has her teeth cleaned regularly & has never had that prognosis. I couldnt let this go unreported as its a travesty that dentists get away with this all in the name of money!!

If I could give no stars I would. I do not recommend going to this dentist. I did not get a sense that they actually care for their patients. I originally went to the La Jolla office and while the experience was OK the x-ray tech looked up my name and tried to add me on Linked In after my appointment. I thought that was super strange. I went back for a cleaning 6 months later and when I went to their office they were closed and/or moved locations (to Sorrento Valley). They did not call me to remind me of my appointment and tell me THEY HAD MOVED. I wasted so much time that I missed the appointment completely, they wouldnt answer my call and I had to go back to work. They then sent me a bill for that missed appointment and now wont answer my calls to try and resolve it. The staff at the Sorrento location also was not helpful in trying to get my records so I could visit a new dentist. They were suppose to call me back and just dont. Just dont bother with this place.

Great service with the team! I went it for a cleaning and the staff was accommodating. Valerie was very easy going and helpful on my plan for the day. Would recommend to anyone looking to get a brighter smile!

Absolutely NO STARS!!! from the beginning they did not do a good job my tooth ended in a root canal with a new Dentist. they close la Jolla office and they did no call me o send any notification a year after that I got a bill for the services it was pay from 2 different insurance , I call so many time to this office they wouldnt not answer and went they did just to tell me they were call me back..... they never did, I try to resolve the problem after 5 months and the manager office did not want to answer the phone but a could hear her telling to the nice receptionist what to say to me VERY PROFESSIONAL. I just call the billing department and de Corporate office to solve de problem and complain about the bad service in Sorrento office, they dont care about patients justo to collect money . I Absolutely do not recommend going to Gentle Dental

Dr. Negrete and his team were so kind and gentle. I’ve seen a couple drs at this location as my teeth needed some TLC this year, and he by far was the most gentle with shots and the over all procedures I needed. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and Valerie was so helpful and thorough when going over my dental insurance and coverage. You can tell that this office has a high volume of business but everyone is all hands on deck and it makes me want to return! Thank you all for your help!

Overall the staff is friendly and I have had a great experience in house with the dentists but the billing is a nightmare. I have repeatedly tried to remove a false charge they have charged me with for the last 3 months and every time I talk to someone they say it should be fixed. I am tired of staying quiet about it and I feel a 1 Star might get some attention to my issue.

I had such a terrible experience with their customer service rep. it was a male and I forgot to ask for his name. He was so rude and did not help me with anything. He kept changing all the facts about my appointment and their hours. I got sick of the back and forth and just cancelled my appointment.

Absolutely terrible business practices. I have been waiting over 6 months for a refund of overpayment even though the office manager promised my funds in 4 -8 weeks. Not a small amount. Over $1300 is owed me. I have spoke with the office manager only once and thats because I told her I would come to the office. She is always with a patient and never returns my calls.Manager blames corporate but the corporate dispute recording,thats all you get, refers me back to the manager. I am going to the office today with the law in hand to get my money. Stay tuned to here and Twitter for the outcome. According to california law I should have been refunded in 30 days.

Very nice services

I have an ongoing hate relationship with the dentist. After going to my usual dental office (Gentle Dental Del Lago) I was told my normal dentist (Dr. Feldman) had switched locations to Sorrento Valley. After the new dentist told me I had 6 cavities and that I had to be knocked out completely for her to do the fillings because I was such a mess, I decided to go back to Dr. Feldman in Sorrento Valley. After she confirmed I only had ONE cavity and not 6, plus 1 filling that needed to be redone because it was lifting, I was relieved but still anxious. Today was the day and let me tell you....they were the easiest fillings Ive ever had, and ive had a lot! In & out in an hour, not too numb after (which is my least favorite part). And I didnt feel a thing. She is so amazing and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a dentist who is nice, takes care of you and your needs, and puts you at ease.

I experienced an extreme facial trauma and lost several teeth in a fall during the night. The next morning the search for an emergency dentist was complicated. Once I found Gentle Dental Sorrento Valley, the complexity and confusion were alleviated.They got me into the office ASAP to assess the damage and begin a plan of treatment. Dr. Negrete was extraordinarily informative when laying out my options and open about what could/could not be done in the office.At most dental offices, this would be the end of it... Youd get a referral to an oral surgeon and that would be that. Not at Gentle Dental. The staff called around to local oral surgeons to see which ones could re-implant teeth and get me in that day. It turned out that re-implanting wasnt possible, but getting in that day got me well on the road to recovery.Dr. Negrete, Valerie, Ko, Leslie, and Mirabelle went above and beyond the call of duty... And their bedside manner was phenomenal. Going to the dentist is often traumatic for me, and going in with these injuries was especially problematic. Their bedside manner was perfect, though, and I felt comfortable, engaged, and informed during the whole visit. They really care about the well-being of the patients and worked with me at every stage to make sure I got everything I needed. Its refreshing and theyve beyond earned my business on a continuing basis.This is now my new dental office and I couldnt be happier. Its the first time Ive ever felt excited about getting a dentist. They were a bright ray of sunshine in what was a very dark time for me, and I simply cannot sing their praises loudly enough.Thank you all.

My husband and I both see Dr Tu as our regular dentist. She is the best. We both love her and hope shes there as long as we need dental help. She is a wonderful dentist and has a very kind manner. Yesterday I went in for a cleaning with Dr Tu. My husband, Michael, recently had to see Dr Kaolos for gum surgery too. We both like Dr K as well. His assistant, Jose, was great in helping us in several ways. He made sure my husband was seated in a room with a window since Michael is claustrophobic. I also want to mention the others on staff. They are all friendly and caring, especially Jonathan. Hes great.

I will be seeking a new dentist. Between being made to wait and being pressured to schedule services not paid by my insurance, I do not recommend Gentle Dental. They are aggressive salespeople and critical of prior dental work. Be very careful when you first schedule a cleaning because you will not get one. Instead they do xrays and give a proposal for all the work you may or may not need. You have to go back to get your free cleaning but when you do, there will be added charges if you are not careful.

I had to switch to this dental office due to my new insurance policy in 2017. It was not a very good experience overall. First, when making the estimate for my 11 yo daughter’s treatment they “forgot” to include my insurance policy pricing resulting in ~$500 amount instead of ~$250. And then when preparing my estimate the hygienist included all sorts of absolutely unnecessary treatments that are not covered by my insurance policy. And, of course, they recommended absolutely necessary crowns (with root canals, etc.) which can be replaced by fillings. And finally making an appraisal for orthodontic treatment the amount somehow skyrocketed by ~$500 in comparison to the previous appraisal made by the same doctor, mostly thanks to intermediate paperwork. And, of course, they insist to start the treatment right away before you have a chance to check your paperwork. So if you hear that the doctor is available right now and can start the treatment immediately, its a good sign that you can save yourself a few hundred dollars if you take the paperwork home, check it carefully and maybe ask for the second opinion.The office appearance is pretty outdated. The walls need fresh paint. The carpet in the reception area has coffee stains and needs some deep cleaning. The Xray equipment looks very old and some plastic details turned yellow with age. It emits 10 times more radiation than the new digital equipment.The only good thing about this place is that we never had to wait in the reception. The only time they contacted me to reschedule my appointment because the doctor was leaving for a vacation.

I am very pleased with my progress in two visits with Dr. Young. The hygienist did a great job on my polish, very gentle. Dr. Young is very friendly, caring and did a great job on peri care. Gave me wonderful feedback.

I cannot recommend this clinic. Doctors and hygienists here had a very unpleasant tendency to try and talk me into treatments and procedures I would not need. It felt like they were trying to cash in on my dental non-expertise by trying to sell me unnecessary (yet fairly pricy) extra treatments. I absolutely despise doctors trying to abuse their power like that. After seeing a different clinic, I found out that I do not need any of those sophisticated and over-frequent cleaning treatments because my teeth are actually fine. Avoid this place!

Dr. Delgado and staff are so great - this was my 1st ever deep cleaning and it was super easy. Not painful at all, and only took about 30 minutes all together.

Dr. Tu is a great dentist. She is honest with you and concerned about the health of your teeth and not inflating her pocketbook by recommending unnecessary procedures like a LOT of OTHER dentists.

Had an awesome experience at gentle dental! They definaltely live up to their name . I met w Dr Negrete who was super professional and attentive. He explained his treatment planning thoughrally I was very satisfied with his chair side manner. The hygienist Rosalie is so friendly and nice. I enjoyed my visit and will refer anyone to go is seeking a great dental experience !

Its not a great experience to keep getting appointments cancelled near the appointment date. Had difficulty getting call back after repeated phone calls.

On two separate occasions Gental Dental called me asking to reschedule my appointment due to the dentist not being able to make it last minute. Then this last time I showed up in their office at my scheduled appointment time, and they said the dentist had to cancel. They offered to just do my cleaning, and not xrays or the exam as I should have gotten. This is the last time I will ever go to this place. They wasted my time and I am busy just like the dentist. Their service even before this was just okay.

Dr Tu and the Hygienist are excellent. All the staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable.

They are amazing, helpful, and friendly. My faves are Robert, Sochi, and Caesar. They make my experience worthwhile every time I walk into their office, and Im there every month, sometimes twice a month. They make such a great team!I drive 20-30 minutes in the opposite direction from my home and work just to go to this particular office, because of them. If they werent there, I would definitely find a closer Dentist/Ortho office.I hope they receive the recognition they deserve, because they work really hard at making an uncomfortable experience comfortable. They are patient with my questions, accommodating with my schedule, and personable and kind with every visit.
