Dr. Updyke and his staff does a wonderful job with their patients. They really take of us.

I had my bi-annual check up this morning and was very pleased with the steps taken by staff to ensure our safety during the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff was super organized and prepared. Allie performed a few initial tests to ensure I was healthy enough to be there and answered any questions I had. I’ve always enjoyed my experiences at South Temple Dental and was pleased to see their efforts during these difficult times. Thank you to Sarah, Spencer, and Allie for taking good care of me! I appreciate your hard work and professionalism! :) I’d recommend this dental office to anybody who asks!

I usually dont write reviews but, the service I received from Dr. Updike and his staff was so exceptional that I needed to tell everyone how great they really are. A big THANK YOU to them for all they did for me.

I’ve historically had bad experiences at the dentist but Dr. Updike and his staff are so warm, friendly, and helpful. Both the doctor and his assistant have wonderful chair-side manner that make going in for appointments anxiety free. Plus the fillings that he’s done for me have been seamless and pain free!

Everyone at S Temple Dental was gracious and welcoming, making me feel relaxed and not at all like I was in a dentists office! Cleaning and tooth exam was highly thorough, with everything (I got to see x-rays and detailed pictures of the cavities I have in my back teeth, very cool!) being explained before and throughout my appointment. I highly recommend! :)

My husband and I have been going with Dr. Updike in the past 6 years. He provides excellent and professional dental services. Never have I felt he was overcharging us or recommending services that are not needed. In fact, in all his visits, Dr. Updike provides personal and patient-centered services. He is one of a kind. Soon my son (toddler) will have Dr. Updike as his main dentist.His new office location demonstrate his attention to detail and providing a full service that is patient-focused. Each room is equipped with flat screens and speakers to watch your favorite Netflix show or listen to some music. From the front desk to the dental hygienist, all staff is professional and friendly. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Everyone is super friendly and you can tell that everyone really enjoys working there. They have Netflix for us to watch while were lying down in the chair which is great. And they must have the logistics of patient scheduling figured out because there is no waiting for them to call you back after you arrive.

Ive been going there for quite some time now and the crew that runs that ship is great. Ive referred most of my coworkers at our start-up company to go there and as our company grows more of us keep referring the new people to Spencer. As a consequence, he has now become our unofficial official company dentist. My kids started going there as soon as they were old enough to warrant going to a dentist and they have a great time (well as good of a time as one can have at the dentist). You wont be disappointed... well that is unless he tells you a root canal is in your future. :-)

I am very please with Spencer Updike, DDS and staff. They are patient, compassionate and made sure I was comfortable. It took me a long time to find a dentist. He has a new patient for life. The staff was awesome too. Thank you, for my smile.

Dr. Spencer is---in my view---the best Dentist I have ever used. He explains things, all work has been virtually painless, and his new Office is not only classy & professional, but it has the most amazing views of Salt Lake City there could be. Ive been to this office several times. I always felt like my oral care was the staffs top priority rather than feeling like a number. The hygienist showed me spots that I was missing when brushing and even recommended a toothbrush that would help me be cleaner. I have never been taught what I could be doing for better oral health.

I appreciate that South Temple Dental sees me at the time of my appointment. I am always in the chair within 10 min of my scheduled time.Also, Dr. Updike is thorough in his assessments, but I am in and out in a very reasonable amount of time.Great care by the whole team.

This is really the most pleasant dental experience you can have. Great dentist, friendly helpful staff. I love the text reminders for appointments and Ann could not be more pleasant to deal with for administrative stuff.I wish every business worked like this.

I really enjoyed having Spencer as my dentist and I enjoyed the fact they always sent me text messages when my 6 month visit was due, but I did not like the high turn-around they had for their hygienists. I felt that while the dentist was great and the customer service was superb, the time the dental hygienists spent on my teeth was too short. I would have stayed at this practice if Dr. Updike had more experienced dental hygienists.

Down to earth, flexible, genuine, affordable. After receiving a temp and permanent crown I got a call from Dr. Update to see how I was doing. Did a great job on the crown. Really great place - highly recommend.

Best dentist I have ever been too. Highly recommend. Dr Updike is conservative, does not recommend work that does not need to be done. Friendly staff, well worth the drive downtown!!

Kind, personal, attentive dental care. South Temple Dental is a small practice, but a very modern and skilled clinic with very personable and friendly people. I highly recommended this clinic.

When I first went to South Temple Dental, I hadnt been to the dentist in years, so I was really nervous about things--but they did everything they could to put me at ease, and helped me get my teeth back in order.Spencer Updike is a great dentist and I love the office staff. I would recommend them to anyone.

The staff and Dr. Updike were friendly and courteous. I was feeling a little tired, but they didnt take it personally or push me to talk too much. They provided me with a gentle cleaning, an extra x-ray to be safe, and pointed out areas I need to be diligent with. All in all, everything I expect from a dentist.

Ive been going to Dr. Updike for years. I drive in from an hour away because he does exceptional work and the whole staff is very friendly and attentive. Five stars.

I have the typical fear of the dentist but the staff and Dr. Updike always make me feel calm and welcome. They really make the experience as pleasant as possible for me. They work well will my insurance company so there is never any guess work or hassle. I refer them every chance I get.

I stalled and stalled for nearly three weeks before finally deciding to have the cavity in my tooth checked out and fixed. But after my visit to south temple dental, I realize there was no reason to stress. They did a quick, efficient job of filling the damaged tooth. The procedure wasnt a big burden on the wallet either, though I had no dental insurance.

The staff are very kind and friendly. Sarah at the front desk is very courteous and helpful. Kylee, my hygienist, was also very friendly and was good at her job. A good experience.

I called at 5am because I had toothache pain that kept me up all night. By 8am I got a phone call that they could have me in at 10:15am THE SAME DAY!! I decided to take the 2:15pm appointment, and they had me in at 2:10 and out by 2:30. Though everyone may not have that experience, it was very efficient!As for my experience, the hygienist was friendly and the doctor was very careful while he was trying to identify the source of my pain, which was very nice compared to most dentists Ive been to!I had the option to watch Netflix while I was being worked on, but didnt need it. He was able to explain the source of my pain by pointing out specific spots on my xray, versus just telling me what was wrong. Its nice to know whats going on with your body, and I think he gets that.If you take anything from my review, just know youre in good hands with Dr. Updike and his team. Keep up the good work!

All of the comments share my views exactly. Dr. Spencer Updike is an excellent dentist and I have gone to many dentists in my lifetime. We have been going to him since he opened his office on 5th East.

So, nothing exciting about goint to get old fillings drilled or replaced. However, South Temple Dental did an awesome job of getting me in on time, making me comfortable and really making it an effortless appointment. I was out of the chair and onto my workout and had forgetten all about the experience by the time I got a follow up call to be sure everything had gone well. Thank you!

I have severe dental anxiety and have had terrible experiences in the past with dentists. This location has friendly staff, professional assistants and dr Updike did a great job on my cleaning and fillings. They were very accommodating and sensitive to my anxiety. They have Netflix to watch while they do the work and are very considerate

I love going to the dentist just as much as the next guy, but as usual, Dr. Updike and his staff made my visit pleasant and virtually painless. I like the atmosphere in the office there and I appreciate the timely manner in which I get in and out.
