Dr. Spector and her entire staff are amazing! They were incredibly kind to me during a difficult situation and Dr. Spector explained my options, letting me know the risks and benefits of each course of action. If you decide to work with Dr. Spector, you will be well taken care of.

I’ve been under Dr. Spector’s care for about 20 years. I was able to witness her skill and expertise as a result of a somewhat complicated hysterectomy performed over a decade ago. I felt confident in the decisions she had to make during surgery. She is skilled, professional and genuinely cares as she always offers suggestions to improve my quality of life as I progress through womanhood. I moved out of the county about 4 years ago, but I drive about an hour in order to remain under her outstanding care.

Dr Spector is a caring and wonderful doctor. After asking questions during my routine examine she found concerning results and followed up with an ultrasound. The results were very seriously and I was referred to a surgical specialist. She kept me informed at every step and called me to check on how I was doing. I felt her concern and was confident in the care I received from both her and my surgeon.

Dr. Spector is truly one of the best doctors I have. She is knowledgeable and takes the time to review my file prior to seeing me before each visit, asking important questions about any changes to my health. She cares about the well-being of her patients and it shows. I value her advice and trust her more than any doctor I currently see. I actually drive an hour away to see her because she is just that good.

I recently moved to the Potomac area (a year ago) and needed to get my “wellness check” up to date. Not knowing where to go, after finding my physician, she recommended Dr Spector to me. I went for my first visit and I’m so glad I picked her. First of all, you are greeted with friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, patient and very accommodating staff. At one point I felt very overwhelmed with all the information coming at me at once but they took the time to explain what I didn’t understand. Dr Spector is extremely thorough and has the best bed side manor. The best part is that I didn’t feel “uncomfortable” during my exam which is half of the stress. Definitely glad I went!!

I had a rocky pregnancy. My blood pressure and blood sugar went crazy. All doctors claim it was preeclampsia— around 29 weeks I started feeling worst and had pain In my abdominal region. 2 other on call doctors claimed they wanted to do surgery immediately without checking things. Dr. Spector wanted to check things out before making a decision— she ordered chest/abdominal scans and then she said let’s check on the baby. After the ultrasound, we found that the umbilical cord was barely working.. which help led us to make the decision to do the emergency c section. Dr Spector even made sure to check with the M&F doctor almost like a confirmation of the what the best decision would be. I really appreciated Dr. Spectors approach of getting the full overall picture before making jumping right in.So ended up having the c section and she goes up and beyond to check in on patients. She even stopped by the NICU to check on a couple moms and babies. In my and my family opinion, we strongly feel that Dr Spector is an experienced and caring Ob. We thank God that we had such a wonderful doctor.I rather not tell you all about her so I can keep her to myself.. haha. She’s truly a gem.

Dr. Spector has been great to see both during my pregnancy with my son, and after. She and Dr. Gurdian both have great bed side manner and answers any of my questions. I really enjoy their practice and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Dr. Spector delivered our second child and throughout the process, she acted very unprofessionally and did not seem to have our care as a primary concern. After having to do a C-Section, they found a complication in my wifes levels that are commonly found in patients who had just had surgery, but Dr. Spector thought there was a chance it could have been COVID. She placed us into isolation and had my wife do a second COVID test. Once my wife tested negative on two different tests, Dr. Spector wanted her to do a THIRD test and refused to remove us from isolation. She also had a endless string of nurses come in and disrupt my wife every hour to draw more blood and run more tests even though we were trying to care for our newborn and allow my wife to get rest after having surgery. None of this was ever properly explained to us on what was happening or what these tests were for. After my wife refused the third COVID test, we heard Dr. Spector shouting at the nurses while standing just outside the door. She was furious and stated that she was too scared to even come into our room (even though we had just passed two separate COVID tests). Once she finally spoke to us, she refused to accept responsibility for our current treatment and said that someone else was in charge with more COVID experience. The very next morning, Dr. Spectors shift ended and it was a telling sign that we were immediately removed from the isolation protocol once the next doctor took over. Our treatment drastically improved and we heard the following things:- Multiple nurses and doctors confirmed that Dr. Spector was the one in charge of our care the entire time, in spite of what she said.- The COVID department considered us to have low chances of COVID and were only acting out of Dr. Spectors requests.- Nurses described our whole ordeal as a waste of PPE.- A hospitalist called Dr. Spectors COVID scare an over-read of the results.Dr. Spector suspected that we may have had COVID and placed us under an intense protocol that was called into question by multiple staff members at different levels of the hospital, yet no one was able to escalate these questions to get us help. At the same time, Dr. Spector refused to engage with us and acted unprofessionally out of fear for her own health. Dr. Spector may have her merits as an OB/GYN under normal circumstances, but during this pandemic, we found her actions to be alarming and perhaps indicative of someone who can not handle the pressure of working in a pandemic environment. If you find yourself under Dr. Spectors care, I would highly advise that you proceed with caution or request another doctor who is better able to work under the pressure.
