I was referred to Dr. Von Walter Gonzalez thru Dr. Lord. She has been more than what I expected, extremely intelligent, excellent communicator, gives beyond excellent patient care. I have been her patient for nearly 6 years and due to some serious OBGYN concerns, I have always felt cared for from the very best of medical doctors. :)

I see her for annual checkups and she is always thorough and her bedside manners are excellent and comforting.definitely recommend her.

Dr. von Walter Gonzalez is a lovely, polished, professional who held a dialogue with me vs. being paternalistic and condescending. She was very thorough, explained things, was a good listener and answered all my questions.The pace of the office in general felt a bit hurried, but overall, I felt good about being there as a new patient. It would have been nice to have received a warmer welcome as a first-time patient, but I addressed that with the doctor.Its nice to feel safe and confident with your gynecologist!

I I searched DC, MD and Virginia for the best Ob/GYN services. My health issue was complicated. There were a few with great reviews. However, Dr. Gonzales had great reviews and her actual patient testimonials were impressive. I was convinced that it was the right practice by how the staff answered the phone. I was on point 100%. This practice is wonderful! I saw Dr. Gonzalez for the first time and she was very thorough! She answered all my questions in terms I could understand and gave me great advice about what I could do to be healthy. She went over all my records from my previous doctor and understood my situation and what tests I would need. The office receptionist was very friendly and helpful with all the questions I had, especially about insurance. I would highly recommend this doctor!

Dr. Astrid is the best gynecologist that I have ever had! She always take the time to go over every single detail. She is precise, Professional, caring and when she needs something done by other person she gives clear instructions of what she is looking for, even when the person who is doing the work (ultrasound) is someone who specializes in the matter. I love doctor Astrid and I wish there were more gynecologist like her.

The only reason Im giving this practice any stars at all is because the nurse practitioner, Tosha Lutchefeld is fantastic - she performed my pelvic exam with the utmost care and could not have been more tuned in and empathetic while I trudged through my medical history of the last year that brought me to the office. If youre looking for a practitioner to perform routine annual exams, she is excellent.Astrid von Walter Gonzalez on the other hand, was the polar opposite. After a cyst showed up on an ultrasound, I was scheduled to have a surgical consult with her. She could not look more like she hated her job and any more disinterested if she tried during my appointment. After a year of chronic every day pelvic pain and painful periods, I felt like I wasnt taken seriously. After telling her the laundry list of symptoms Id been experiencing, she told me it didnt sound like endometriosis and placed me on continuous birth control (which doesnt cure endometriosis or make it disappear, if it is there, it just acts as a symptomatic bandaid). Then, she couldnt even get my name right after I almost fainted in her office. Happy to say I found another physician who took me seriously and after a laparoscopy earlier last week, diagnosed me with endometriosis. If you have chronic pelvic pain issues, look for another doctor who is a specialist. These problems have impacted my daily personal and professional life, and to not be taken seriously and talked to like I was a child was demoralizing. Dr. Gonzalez could use some remediation in bedside manner and education of pelvic disorders - her lack of professionalism and compassion was enough to make me never want to return to this practice again.As others have commented - the receptionists are also pretty rude and act like youre bothering them whether youre checking in/out or trying to schedule an appointment.

Dr. Gonzalez is probably the best GYN Ive ever had. Even when I moved a little ways out of the area I traveled the extra hour to continue to see her. Good GYNs are hard to find. Rockville GYN is the has the best staff and best doctors around!
