I had 4 wisdom teeth removed 2 years ago and it was the best experience I’ve ever had. They helped answer all my questions from the procedure to the financial questions. I felt like I was in and out and after the procedure I felt fine other than drowsy. 2 years later I feel great and no complications and most importantly no pain! Absolutely amazing experience

I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed at once and was terrified. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They answered all my questions and made the experience smooth & easy. The office is very nice and clean, professional setting and comfortable. I was instructed on procedure and closed my eyes. Next thing I knew, they were wakingme up and I had no idea it was already done! Would definitely recommend! My healing time was quick and painless. I only dealt with the numbing for a few hours. Im writing this review 2 years later, everything healed just fine. 👍🏼 I actually looked them up again for another visit and realized I should have left a good review of their services!

Dr Won did a bone placement and (2) dental implants on my wife. After going to (3) different dentist to put the bridge in, I was told that Dr Won put the implants in the wrong spot. The implants are above the gum line, so if the bridge is installed the teeth would be above the original. I have called many times to his office and I was told that we need to get a another opinion. He does not want to make an appointment to see what is wrong with his work. His office has told us we need to go to a bone specialists to get this fixed. I asked if his office was going to cover this procedure and the receptionist said no. I have asked numerous times for him to look at it. In my opinion, I understand mistakes happen, but if it does happen the surgeon that makes the work should be fixing it. I wouldnt recommend going with this surgeon. In the picture you can see that the implants are way above the teeth there and you can not put a bridge in without leaving it sticking out from the gums and having food stuck in there and probably very uncomfortable.

I went to this place to take off my wisdom teeth, I am really satisfied with what they’ve done. I didn’t feel any pain at all, it was like nothing happened. The dr and assistants were super nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place.💚

I was very nervous and dont like going to dentists, but they took great care of me. I couldnt believe when they woke me; even asked if they had removed the tooth. I gladly rate Dr. Won and his medical staff 5+. Dr. Won has what I like to call a magic hand when it comes to implants. He performed an implant for my broken tooth and I swear the thing looks just like a real tooth. The coloring of the implant is exactly the same as my natural teeth. I can finally eat normally and can even crunch down on almonds and other nuts again. By far the best oral surgeon in Raleigh IMHO.

Spent less than 10 minutes in the room with me. Told me my TMJ was from the muscles. I broke my jaw when I was eight and had multiple TMJ specialist/dentist say that it was bone on bone not muscle related at all. Dr. Won suggested Botox injections (which wouldn’t do a thing for a legitimate bone issue). When I told him I could not afford it he just suggested a soft food diet. I drove over two hours to see this quack. Do not waste your time or money here.

I had a wonderful experience with everyone in this office, from the receptionist who answered all my questions on the phone and scheduled my appointment, Anna, Ashley, Nancy the nurse, Michael and Dustin, and of course Doctor Won did a fabulous job. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed and everyone I knew was telling me how much pain I was going to be in. The whole procedure took 20 minutes. I followed all of the doctors instructions and didnt really feel anything more than mild discomfort. I was back to work the very next day, I had no swelling and felt pretty good , it was the best overall outcome! I would definitely recommend POMS!

Its been a little over 3 weeks since I had 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Won and his staff and I have been very satisfied with the whole experience. He took time to explain how the procedure would work and described to me detailed x-rays showing my teeth with surrounding nerves and how the procedure was going to work. I had two wisdom teeth under my gums, so I knew I would be in for some pain afterwards, but the quickness and expertise of the procedure made sure I didnt suffer from too much pain post-op. Best dental experience Ive ever had. The oral surgeon I was supposed to see had to cancel last minute. I called this practice and they were able to squeeze me in. I had to wait a while but understood since it was a day of appointment. From the assistants who were comforting and pleasant, to Dustin who handled the paperwork and insurance details everything surrounding the experience was professional and seamless. And the procedure itself? Dr. Won had state of the art equipment which I appreciated since the extractions I needed were verrrry close to my sinuses and Dr. Won himself was a whirling dervish in the room but with reassuring confidence. And best of all...painless dentistry! I highly recommend this dental practice.

I had my two bottom wisdom teeth removed. They were impacted in the jaw, so I had to be put to sleep. Was very nervous about this, but Dr. Won was very compassionate and professional. The surgery was very quick and pain free. I would recommend Dr. Won and his staff for any oral surgeries.

Great experience with my first tooth extraction. The entire process and procedure went extremely smooth and the follow-up care has far exceeded my expectation. This is not a procedure you want handled by anyone else, Dr Won and his excellent staff are fast, efficient knowledgeable and most important caring. I arrived shortly before my 11:00 am appointment had numerous opportunities to discuss the procedure with his staff, all of the eager to answer all the questions I had and be sure of my well being. Despite facing a difficult extraction I was out by noon, well cared for and all questions answered. Even received a follow up call at 7 pm on a friday to ensure there will no lingering problems.

Ive known Dr. Won for 15 years. I moved from Cary to Atlanta in 2010 and have trust issues when it comes to major surgery such as what Dr. Won has expertise with. I drove 6 hours to have him do the work I could trust no one else with. Dr. Won and his team did a wonderful job. Everyone, Dr. Won, Cameron, Dustin, Mike, Samantha, and several other staff members were tremendously professional yet down to earth and simply made me feel comfortable. I was taken back on schedule and everything was done just as Dr. Won said it would be. I couldnt have been more pleased. I stayed in town and visited family for 2 days and traveled back but each day for almost a full week Dr. Won checked in on me personally! Samantha even took time to go out of her way to drive a friend back on my behalf when he picked me up and drove me after surgery. I know this isnt typical of most practices but this service deserved such notice. H

I have been a patient since 2006 or so and had multiple Extractions and Dental Implants. Dr Won is a Medical Doctor in addition to being a Dental Oral Surgeon and his credentials are impeccable. Dr Won and his staff are professional, friendly and concerned about their patients treatment. All of my implants have been successful and with little pain. I had 6 teeth pulled (5 of which were deeply impacted) and in hindsight the scariest part was contemplating not going Dr. Wons. After consultations with 3 different specialists Dr. Won was the only one that had confidence in doing the operation quickly without permanent side effects. After the surgery they stayed in contact and helped me through the most difficult parts of my recovery. Its been about 2 months since the surgery and I couldnt be happier with my progress. Through it all its the staff that really stands out, they really make you feel like family and they make sure youll get your smile back one way or another :).

Worst experience ever! John Won is uncaring, dishonest and unresponsive. He installed an implant that failed causing severe infection and inflammation. After repeated visits, he advised that everything was OK and it just needed time to heal! Meanwhile, the area was infected and damaging the adjacent tooth due to the hole he drilled in the bone! Another oral surgeon was seen and advised the implant needed to be removed immediately and that extensive damage was done to the bone which would need to be repaired. Won was paid in full for his extremely poor service and promised to pay a new oral surgeon for new treatment to correct his error. After many attempts for reimbursement, there has been no response. Not only did Won cause 3 years of dental agony, he is now not even standing by his word!! Please, for your sake and the sake of your health, do not use John Won!

LICENSE REVOKED!! Good news John Won’s right to practice dentistry has been revoked! Too bad it took the death of one of his patient and Medicaid billing fraud to take his license away. I just hope he can never get it back. It’s a bit hard to find on google, but there is an article The News & Observer wrote about him, and if you go to the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners, click on License Verification and type in his name you can read the charges and see his license has indeed been taken from him. I can’t say enough negative things about this man. I unfortunately had the displeasure to be one of his victims. I developed the worse infection after my procedure. I went back to him multiple times but he would not admit he had anything to do with it. John Won caused me a lot of pain and a lot of money. The pain was so bad I ended up going to and paying another doctor to clear the infection and rebuild my jaw bone.

My son as well as myself have been to Dr Won several times. I have always been petrified with any dental procedure. That has all changed since becoming a patient of his. He and his staff are amazing! Dr Won is very compassionate and understood my fears. He spoke to me and explained everything before the procedure they even checked in on me the next day! Amber specially was too nice to accomodate my request for immediate consultation due to excruciating pain. Dr. Jon Won and Staff are an Exceptional, Caring team! Dr. Mayes from Preston referred me to have one sideways wisdom tooth and three impacted wisdom teeth extracted. While I was in Dr. Won’s office I asked if he could take care of that little extra skin under my tongue that made me Slightly tongue tied. I could never stick my tongue too far out my mouth…but now I can touch my cheek!!! Pronunciation was not bad beforehand, but I did lack a little bit of clarity at times. I Love the way I speak now and the way my tongue moves in general. I was concerned about adding on as some doctors don’t like that. But he did not have any problems! Perhaps because I paid right away with credit, or he saw it as a simple thing, I don’t know.The entire surgical procedure seemed as if it happened with a snap of my fingers after I sat in the chair. In fact, after I awoke, I asked if Dr. Won was going to come in and do the surgery now…and was told he is already done! Then I realized the gauze. Yet, I did not have pain. Recovery was not complicated, and the staff was very helpful with any questions I had at any time. Thanks again Dr. Won and staff, I HIGHLY recommend you!!!

Awesome oral surgeon. I was extremely nervous about going under and having three wisdom teeth removed. However, Dr. Won and everyone in his office put me at ease. Dustin made dealing with the insurance aspect of things extremely easy, and the rest of the staff made me feel taken care of. Dr. Won was extremely fun, confident, and most importantly, competent. He removed one tooth that was impacted to a point of being under a long, complicated nerve. Thankfully he did such a wonderful job that I recovered quickly. Like another reviewer, I had heard horror stories about having wisdom teeth removed; especially as an adult. I was, and continue to be very pleased with my experience. In fact, Dr. Won did such a wonderful job, that I took my son to him as well when he needed pre-orthodontia teeth removed. And, not surprisingly, we had another great experience! I highly recommend Dr. Won and his entire office! Some other important things to note: The office was clean, modern, comfortable, and there was a great waiting area for family and friends with drinks, tv, good reading materials, and comfortable seating. The post-op instructions were extremely thorough, too!

My experience with Dr. Wons practice was excellent from start to finish. I was in a huge amount of pain and was treated accordingly. I was seen the same day as Dr. Wons office was called, the extraction procedure was done early the next morning. Everyone was extremely professional and caring. Follow-up was done appropriately and made easy. I would absolutely recommend the practice and come back to Dr. Won if ever needed again.

I went in on a Friday to get four wisdom teeth removed. I was beyond nervous to go under for surgery but they talked me through every step! Customer service was amazing! When I woke up I felt nothing, almost like I hadnt had surgery at all! lol. No swelling, or problems with healing. Dr. Won is truly outstanding

I had three wisdom teeth removed about a week ago and Ive had VERY MINIMAL PAIN AND DISCOMFORT since!!!!! Dr. Won is exceptional I was terrified going into it but I didnt need to be, I was concerned b/c having lupus my immune system is compromised and I was afraid that I wouldnt heal from it correctly but I have had NO problems and I recommend Dr. Won and his team HIGHLY if you need to have your wisdom teeth removed or any other procedure on his website that he DOES do please do NOT hesitate to visit Dr. Won!!!! Underwent a procedure to remove impacted wisdom teeth. The procedure as well as the pre- and post-operation dos and donts were explained clearly. Everyone at the clinic was very friendly and followed up through text and calls. I felt very well taken care of and had a great experience!

Just returned from my third visit. Office is a disaster. Each time there were waiting people sitting on the floor, standing in hallways. Discourteous front staff. Insurance clerk was supposed to call me, never did. Today I waited a full hour past my appointment time and the doctor spent 30 seconds with me. Would never return to this practice, nor would I recommend it to anyone I know.

Had an oral surgery and the doctor never spoke to me after the surgery, it has been more than a week now. I did not even know what he did exactly in the surgery and how things went. he did surgery and disappeared, I had to get information from the nurse through the phone, she told me that I had stitches in my mouth .after a week from the surgery I felt a pain and hard tissue appeared next to the surgery area. I could not not get an appointment to see the doctor again because the doctor was not available for 5 days. how come a doctor leaves his patient suffering with the pain and not having any other doctor to take care of the patients while he is not available all this time. I felt sorry I had the surgery in that office in cary. still waiting for the office to open with no help. they only help the nurse offered is that she told me she could get the doctor prescribe antibiotic for me and she recommended taking Ibuprofen. can`t the doctor talk to me ? are the patients less important so only the nurse who talk to patients. by the way , on my first appointment I noticed 2 red flags about this office. two patients on the raw seemed to be unhappy. a black lady came out of his office almost yelling. the second white lady said he is so mean.I was not sure who she meant by that. This doctor does not seem to have time for his patient. when you do the surgery just pay the fees and and go home. if you have any problem go to the emergency room.

Dr. John Won has committed numerous counts of insurance fraud and caused the death of a patient in 2010 due to negligence. Did a great job with my teeth but I was virtually traumatized reading the record of his hearing by the medical board after I got word that he had marks on his public record from my dentist. Would not recommend.

To be honest I was terrified of heading to a dentist much less an oral surgeon. Im 25 and havent had go to a dentist in 15 years (no cavities until recently).From the consultation him and his staff already made me feel 100x better. They were very accommodating took the time to answer my myriad of questions and are just super friendly while being straight forwardFast forward to today 1 day after having 4 wisdom teeth removed and my #31 molar. The procedure went great and it was excellent I have a really small mouth and was worried about a lot of jaw soreness or collateral damage since its hard to work in but soreness was minimal.The worst part of the procedure was waiting for feeling to come back to my lip which full feeling returned within 18 hours which is remarkable considering it can typically take weeks (my wifes did take 2 weeks). This says a lot for Dr. Won and his skill. 24 hours after my procedure I have 0 pain just some slight throbbing in my jaw due to the swelling which is to be expected with surgery.These reviews helped me determine who was right for this procedure and everyone is right Dr. Won is awesome! I dont know why people say he was impatient on some because I asked him AND the nurse 20 questions each and he was very patient to put me at ease which made me feel very comfortable for the procedure. I hope this detailed review will help make their decision because I have heard so many negative things about wisdom teeth removal but clearly SKILL is clearly the leading factor. I also had one wisdom tooth NOT erupted which had to be removed and my bottom two grew in sideways facing the side of my 2nd molar while the last one was decayed below the gumline. Even though it seemed more complicated it wasnt a problem and the decayed tooth got pulled out in one piece without it being shattered (it was 50% gone probably).With all that said I have only been needing to take over the counter ibuprofen for pain management he did so well! A huge thanks to Dr. Won and his awesome staff which I had the opportunity to work at both locations with a consistent experience.

Not a good experience after having 2 wisdom teeth pulled. Three weeks later I have C-Diff which is a terrible and serious intestinal condition caused by the antibiotic that Dr. Won prescribed as part of this process. This is even potential deadly and very spreadable condition. Why would he prescribe this particular medicine with such terrible side effects that is potentially fatal ???? Thought I was doing a smart thing removing 2 teeth but not if it means I have months of this terrible condition and possible lifelong pain and embarrassment.

If i could give negative five stars, I would. I had surgery June 24th and ended up with nothing but trouble. I went to the office many times complaining of pain and headaches. Dr. Won pretty much blew off my concerns as I was old to have wisdom teeth removed (43). The first time I went in after surgery with concerns, he did not even look inside my mouth. I ended up having surgery done in another office to repair the issue he ignored post surgery.

I had a really great experience here! I would 10/10 recommend.

Being a very nervous and jittery patient, Dr. Wons staff had me COMPLETELY at ease from the moment I walked into their door on Ellstree Lane! Aside from such a beautiful office, the bedside care before AND after my procedure was outstanding. I will recommend ANY and EVERY one to go to him ( he is also not bad on the eyes!!!!) Great surgeon, but I hate waiting in the office. He is hardly ever on time. We are currently at a 45 minute wait to see him. Maybe worth it, but book a first thing in the morning spot!

Egomaniac. I went to Dr. Won for a second opinion and his opinion differed from the other oral surgeon, which was fine. However, my dentist reviewed his notes and came to the conclusion that he looked at the wrong spot in my mouth so I went back for a second visit. During that second visit, when I asked him a few very simple questions to confirm that he looked at the right spot this time he got very defensive and downright hostile. He appeared to be insulted that I would even question him. It was for something that could potentially cost me my tongue or even my life but he complained about me taking up ten minutes of his time to ask him questions. I dont recommend him at all.

Absolutely horrible experience, from the office staff to the doctor himself, who I met for maybe 5 minutes, to fraudulent billing practices. The communication between doctor and general dentist on the plan or care is non existent. The person in charge of insurance and billing., dustin, is condescending and obnoxious. Do not recommend this practice to anyone. And whoever had surgery there check what you or your insurance were billed for anesthesia.

I got removed my wisdom tooth from here. They did a great job.

Worst experience of my life, they turned me away without any answers because my insurance would not cover surgery, they didnt care or try to give me a alternative, just cold...but if I had money they would have treated me w respect. Preston... the guy that handles the insurance is just so rude, and snobbish. I left in tears, not knowing if I had a cancer... !!!!!!!!

I would give 0 stars if I could.
