Ive been seeing Dr. Henry Matthew for a few years now and he is the absolute best. I have never had a doctor seem to really care about me as a patient and as a person. He always listens to everything I have to say, talks through his proposed treatment plan (and why he thinks its best to try) and will work with me until we figure out a solution. Not only that, but he takes into account how I feel about the treatment plan - whether I prefer no medication, a certain type of medication, etc. Im so thankful to have found a PCP that truly cares about me and my health!

I’ve been seeing Jessica Allyn for several years now. I was referred to her for my PCOS. I HIGHLY suggest you see her if you have this issue, or any issue really. She’s the sweetest, kindest, and most understanding medical professional I’ve ever worked with. She helped me manage my symptoms and the condition in far greater ways than any other has (and I’ve seen many!). It’s my understanding that she is highly sought after by women with PCOS and I can see why. I can’t say enough good things about her and what she’s helped me with.

My fiancé and I see Henry Matthew and we have had great experiences each time we have been. He is great about taking his time during each visit and addressing our concerns. We have always felt supported with this practice. He also is really helpful with working around our insurance coverages to get what we need. I also had the pleasure of meeting their new nursing student intern a couple weeks ago, who was also super helpful and kind.

Dr.Van Pala is amazing! I had my first visit with him today and he took an entire hour to explain to me in depth everything . He is not only professional but has an amazing personality. His staff is nice and helpful. I look forward to my relationship with this practice. My insurance is out of network but he is worth every cent!!!! He put my mind at ease and gave me light at the end of a dark tunnel!

Dr Van Pala is by the far the most thorough, intelligent, and caring Dr. Ive ever had! He doesnt just seem interested in what is going on with your health but actually is interested, curious, and tries to get to the bottom of it. After all the years he has spent practicing medicine and seeing patients; he still genuinely cares about his patients health, and educating them on their condition. He asked me questions no other Dr ever has around specific symptoms. He spent an hour on the phone with me trying to help me and educating me when I was having a flare up. He also spent a significant amount of time reviewing/researching my past history, old test results, procedures, etc. By viewing that info, he suspected and predicted my underlying condition and what eventual procedure I would need to resolve it. He was right on the money and 6 mths before it was confirmed by a procedure! My past issues are no longer a problem due to Dr. Van Pala insight & suggestion on the next steps I should take with a Specialist. Hes a wonderful Dr.! His time & dedication to his patients is unmatched and not the type of Dr you come across very often (or ever for me). THANK YOU, DR VAN PALA! YOURE A BLESSING TO THE UNIVERSE!

Ive seen both Dr. Henry Van Pala and his son, Matthew Van Pala, and they are both excellent providers. They listen to you, validate your symptoms, and will try to help you out in any way possible. More importantly, they are holistic in their approach and clearly stay up to date with new medical research. The front desk staff and phlebotomists are nice and Ive always had fast appointments, too. Very grateful for this practice.

Just had a wonderful eleven minute conversation with Deb regarding scheduling an appointment. I called about five minutes before they were scheduled to reopen from lunch and was surprised to have someone answer. I was even more pleasantly surprised with the time she took to work through helping me with working out whom I needed to see. The encounter was Just really thoughtful and caring—as if I was talking to someone who cares for me. Pretty special.

Henry and his team are amazing period! When my previous primary care physician retired I literally searched for 20 months and tried three other offices before I found my new primary care home for life. With North Hills Internal & Integrative Medicine I literally receive concierge medial care and they do not even charge me a fee for the concierge level service. Henry takes the time to treat the whole patient. He actually communicates with his patients to gain an understating of the patients life which ultimately leads to unmatched clinical excellent. As a Leader of one of the largest health services companies in the US I can tell you the care is top notch.

The receptionist at this office is literally the worst customer service rep I have ever spoken to at ANY doctor office. She is snarky, rude, disrespectful, and should NOT be the first person you encounter at any office. When I called to reschedule because of a family emergency with child care, she let me know that I would be charged a same day cancellation fee. I brought up that they called me the day before to see if I could move MY appointment to a more convenient time for THEM and I was not able to. She let me know with complete attitude that it was not MANDATORY for me to move it - just a request, so NOT the same thing. Well, needless to say, I will be dragging all my kids to their office today for my VERY LAST appointment. There are too many doctors in the area that actually CARE about their patients.I also want to add, I really like Dr. Henry, but nothing is worth being talked to the way she talked to me. Life is too short.

I recommended my friend and now this is her new favorite doctor.

I tried two other internists before going to Dr. Van Pala. I scheduled an appointment with him for my husband, and I was so impressed with how thorough and helpful the doctor was that I started seeing him myself. He takes time to listen to your concerns and is able to explain complex medical concepts in a way that is easy to understand without being insulting. He also doesnt get annoyed when you ask a ton of questions you got from Googling your symptoms. He is neither stingy with medicine nor does he throw pills at every problem. He is good doctor who seems to genuinely care about his patients. I highly recommend!

Dr. Vanpala and his entire practice is a rare find. He takes his time with me, comes up with a plan for whatever I’m in for, and is extremely knowledgeable. He has a very friendly staff, and the entire practice makes you feel like you have a concierge doctor available to you.If you want an MD that cares, takes their time with you and isn’t rushed to cram in the next patient, then this is the only practice to visit.

Ive been seeing Sally Joseph, NP for 10 years. I used to drive to Chapel Hill from Raleigh to see her. She is great at what she does. She helped me finally get my thyroid under control. But the practice itself has some issues. Every time my RXs run out, it becomes an issue and hassle to get them refilled. Every time I have to call and talk to the woman who manages the practice. She is always very quick to make it VERY clear that 1) I do not matter, 2) Im a pain the butt and 3) she doesnt want me or any patient to call the office for help with refills or anything else. This last time, my pharmacy had been sending a refill request for over a week. I had been out of a RX for over a week. I cannot go weeks at a time without them. When I go without them it affects me, my work, my family... Its not as if Im trying to get some elicit narcotic. I just need my thyroid medicine! So, after multiple attempts, I finally had to get another doctor to call this RX in for me. It was ready in an hour. That is responsible patient care. What is happening with the management at this practice does not make for good medicine.

Updated: 7/3.Received a call from my provider at this practice asking me if i was pleased with how things were resolved. I told him I was going to a new practice, because I didn’t feel comfortable. After the conversation I was asked twice to take this review down. I was not asked to remove the review due to authenticity, it purely for image and business purposes. The entire experience with this practice surrounding the issue has been upsetting, and that just crossed the line. Patients should not be asked to remove or alter their reviews for the image of a clinic. Instead of attempting to pressure patients into changing reviews, they should focus on improving based on feedback.I was not going to write this review, but after today I felt like it was the appropriate thing to do.Two weeks ago I caught the stomach bug that was going around. I called the practice to see if I could get an appointment or speak to the triage nurse. I had been vomiting for over 11 hours, and it was not stopping. When I got someone on the line and explained what happened she said well I dont know when asked about an appointment. I asked if they had a triage nurse and she huffed and puffed. At this point I was starting to get agitated with her responses. I told her I was just going to call someone else. She said well I guess I can leave a message for the nurse and someone will call you back. I waited for another hour and ended up going to an urgent care and getting fluids, because I couldnt hold anything down. After three days and getting no call back I called the practice and spoke with the office manager. I explained that situation and that I didnt feel comfortable coming back there. At that time she did not know anything about my call or this message. As a token of good faith she offered me a free protein shake. I was touched that they did care and thought maybe it was a one off. When I went to go pick up the shake today I was again hit with the dysfunction of this clinic. They had the wrong patients name on the shake and I had to explain the entire situation before they would give it to me. I told her I dont need it and I was just going to go, but she wanted to talk. In the room the office manager proceeded to tell me that Its a team effort and if I dont hear back I need to call them back. I was also told about same day appointments, which I was not offered at my 8:05 a.m. call i made the morning I was sick. She then tried to say she remembers now after over two weeks that she had called, which never happened. I smiled and told her that didn’t happened and she folded quickly, because it was false.I work in the industry and I call my patients back. The issues of not being offered an appointment, no call back, a gift and then I have to prove my case again ( when I didnt ask for anything), and then being told I need to call them back and its a team effort (that I am paying for...) has led me to write this review. They fell below par many times on the phone and in person, and dropped the ball again when they attempted to make amends. I will not be going to back to the practice, and feel like some training in medical and customer service needs to happen.

Dr Van Pala is amazing and one of a kind but his front office staff led by Deb is awful. She is one of the most difficult and rude people I’ve dealt with in the medical business. I don’t want to look for another doctor but I can’t stand working with Deb any longer. She made me inactive within the patient portal because I was unable to come in due to not having a job and my insurance ending the next day. I called and told her now that I was locked out of the portal and she told me that she didn’t do that. However, I was using the same saved log in credentials from Friday until this morning prior to her deactivating me. Now the message says my email is not associated with the portal. I don’t know what kind of business you are running over there but you need to get organized and learn how to treat patients.

My son referred me here. The staff and physicians were friendly and helpful. I really appreciated their focus on overall health and the all the lab work they did to pinpoint any potential problems. They did an allergy panel for me since I struggle with seasonal allergies. Ive never had a doctor offer to do that for me before when Ive come in for allergy issues. Sally Joseph went over all my Labs with me and answered my questions and made recommendations. She suggested supplements & dietary changes instead of meds and that was a breath of fresh air for me as I have so many side effects from medications. I had a small issue with them forgetting the time of my rescheduled appt, but they were so nice and squeezed me in to a very busy day. Will definitely recommend to others!!!

I was referred to this place and called twice to make an appointment. However, the front desk made the process difficult and unpleasant. Ive never ever had been told to call my insurance to check if their facility was in network; Ive never ever been told that they cant set up my appointment without the phone number of my emergency contact ( I did not have that handy); I was also told that I could not enter that information later through the portal and thus she could not set up an appointment. The front desk person was rude, unenthusiastic and made it seem like she could care less if I make an appointment. I decided not to proceed further, as this poor attitude says a lot about future interactions and attention a patient would be getting. I called a different provider who was accommodating, nice, and informative. Had my appointment set up in 5 minutes.

Unfortunately, leaving this practice as a patient. The quality of care for their patients has greatly diminished. NP Jessica Allyn is wonderful. This practice though suffers from some seriously shady practices.I scheduled an appointment by calling them, asking for an appointment on a Friday. They asked me if Friday, March 15th would work at 1:30 PM. I agreed to it, assuming that it was a Friday, as requested.Fast forward to today. Thursday, March 15th. I receive a call from the office stating I missed my appointment, and that they would charge me 50 dollars for no showing. Then had the nerve to ask if I could come in for an appointment Friday, March 16th at 1:30PM. But I would be required to pay the no-show fee, and the normal co-pay to be seen. If I couldnt it would be considered a need to reschedule with another fee. I have a serious chronic illness that has blood coming out of places it shouldnt, but that doesnt matter. Money is more important than human life toDoctor Van Pala..I will be taking my health and insurance to a practice that actually cares about its patients wellbeing.
