Shae H. is a checkin registrar and has the patience of a toddler. When a person is not feeling well the last thing that they need/want is to be rushed and made to feel as if their visit is not important. She is extremely rude and should not be the first face you come in contact with. Is this the best WakeMed has to offer? Horrible customer service! Everything was a “huh” or “what”… Common sense tells my nine year old that in order to hear what a person is saying through a mask, you may need to open your window for a better understanding. I will sick with Duke.

Went to the doctor & thought the care was great until it wasn’t. I received a call several days later regarding lab test results. I had no idea they had run anything. Neither doctor said anything about running this lab at any point during the visit. Nor did they express any concerns about it. They wrote me a prescription for a diagnosis that I knew going in I had & that had nothing to do with the test they ran. When I requested a call back from the doctor for an explanation I was told it was “standard of care” since they weren’t sure what I had. There was no apology. However, during my visit they confirmed my self-diagnosis (it was pretty obvious) & wrote a prescription for it. So I’m not sure how they were able to confirm a diagnosis & write a prescription at the visit but turn around & say they weren’t sure what I had so they ran additional tests. The nurse delivering the lab results agreed it should have been discussed with me. I’m not a child. I now have a bill for labs I never consented to & did not need & could have told them would come back negative. I don’t understand how this is ethical & do not agree with this as a patient. I don’t believe this was an accidental slip of mind, I believe they had no plan to discuss it with me at all. I went to the Urgent Care

It feels odd to rate a hospital but I felt compelled to share how impressed I was with the level of service we received at this urgent care facility. Over the years Ive been to several other urgent cares in the area (Duke, Rex, and other WakeMeds) and all had the same lack luster experience and take a number type of feel. This facility was different. The receptionist was pleasant and welcoming, the nurses were attentive, and the doctor was informative and compassionate. My wife ended up receiving fluids, which I didnt even know was possible at an urgent care facility.Although no one looks forward to needing to visit an urgent care, Im comforted in knowing this facility exists.

My family member was seen at this horrible place for a simple sinus infection, and they proceed to attempt to educate her and lecture her on other health issues, which she has a specialist for and is completely under control. They then tried to accuse her of other things, and all she had was a simple sinus infection. They spoke to her horribly like she is irresponsible and does not know what she is doing. This is so unprofessional, and if the “professionals” at this facility are this uncaring, condescending, and unprofessional, maybe they should not be practicing medicine!

Avoid this location. Im not one to leave negative reviews as a rule, however, I took a friend here with an eye infection severe enough that she could not drive. We arrived 30 minutes before closing time. After receiving a prescription and being told that medication needed to be applied every two hours because the infection was so bad, THEY DID NOT CALL IN THE PRESCRIPTION BEFORE THEY CLOSED. This left the patient without medication for another 12 hours waiting (in pain) for them to open the next day.Of course we all want to leave work at the end of the day, but when dealing with the health of another human being, this lack of care is unacceptable. And she paid $200 for the privilege. I would go elsewhere.

WakeMed...its a big system. So, you would think they could do standard things required by big insurance companies that a majority of their patients might use. But you would be wrong. Apparently, the urgent care does not do ANY pre-authorizations for prescriptions if one is required. And their ONLY option is to go to a different part of the WakeMed system, WakeMed 360, schedule a whole new appointment (and payment!) and get the prescription all over again so that the pre-auth can go through them.

Had a sinusitis the doctor wouldnt give me a Zithromax which has been prescribed and worked very well for me in the past. All she cared about was giving me the covid vaccine. She said it was safe even for pregnant and nursing mothers. As a nursing mother I wouldnt dare put my baby at risk to take something that is not even FDA approved. Shame on her. Avoid this place at all cost. Its all about money not your overall health and safety.

I managed to fractured both elbows and take a small chip out of my wrist in a fall at work. My husband took me to WakeMed urgent care, and my experience was as good as it could have been despite the pain I was in. In particular, Christine Williams, a PA, was fantastic at not only assessing and explaining my injuries, but also in helping me get through the trauma that I was processing. The receptionist and nurses were also efficient and helpful, and they made the physically painful experience less painful overall.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.I asked for blood work that I didn’t end up getting and the doctor had a VERY dismissive attitude. It was very clear to me that he had not read my chart before trying to fix the problem. When I asked about my blood pressure which was 169/111 (as a 24 year old woman very concerning) I was dismissed yet again and told to make an appointment upstairs with a primary care physician..Overall terrible experience. As a woman AND a person of color I was disappointed but not surprised by the care..or lack of care honestly. The receptionist and the nurse were lovely but the actual doctor made my experience a negative one. Absolutely no bedside manner.

I thought I had broken my toe and went here for medical attention. They took an x-ray and saw that yes I had in fact broken my toe and told me to stay off it for a while as if that was not the default option. I paid my nearly $200 and went home feeling empty and a fool. Several weeks passed and I was suddenly harrased by their collections dept because evidently the doctor forgot to bill me for the x-ray hed taken. Allow me to emphasize that he allegedly forgot to charge me for the only thing he actually did. I called the collections dept to dispute the claim and they told me to call the urgent care. I called the urgent care and they told me to call collections. Ultimately I ended up simply paying them after they threatened my credit score. I will not be using them again as theyve effectively crushed my faith in the competency and ethics of their employ.

The apathetic receptionist said we are closing and would not take me. She said too bad and good luck as I told her I wasnt able to stop the bleeding. I have occasionally been brought back immediately and then left in a room for a while, but Id rather sit in a room by myself anyway.Today the paperwork seemed a lot lighter, I was brought back quickly and hardly spent more than 5 minutes by myself between the nurse and doctor stopping in to take readings or run tests. The doctor and nurse were both friendly and helpful. Tests were done, diagnosis and prescription within 40 minutes of walking in the door.I avoid doctors in general, but this urgent care seems pretty good.

I went to WakeMed Urgent Care two days ago and found the office and medical staff to be extremely professional, kind, concerned, and helpful. Dr. Page did an exam, gave me a breathing treatment, and did a lung X-Ray, which my PCPs office didnt do. He put me on stronger medication than my PCP did, and mentioned that I could take Pedialyte since I seemed to be getting dehydrated. My PCP never mentioned that. Im finally starting to fee better and truly believe that if my PCPs office had provided me with the same medication and information that Dr. Page had done that I would have been feeling better a week ago. Excellent service and a great staff! I didnt get the name of the woman at the front office that I saw when I first came in, but she was terrific and kept coming back to check on me. I do not want people like that in charge of my medical care. I immediately left and drove .2 mile to UNC Rex Urgent care where I was promptly greeted, checked in, and seen. They need a sign-in sheet because they put someone in front of my sick son. Never apologized when I complained just basically told me to sit down and wait. Because of that I had to leave my son there while I picked up my other son. They made my sick son (with a fever of 104) leave the office when he was done in the rain until my return as the office closed at 8pm even though other people were still in the office after him. Then, we called to get a doctors note. Nurse dont know what she is talking about. Said he didnt have strep throat because the test results came up negative. Even though the Doctor said he had Strep Throat and that the test for Strep Throat are not always 100% accurate. I was happy after the first visit but I will not return if I can help it.

We called BACK to WakeMed for them to call the scripts in...waited at pharmacy, 10-15 minutes later called WakeMed AGAIN... She apologized for delay, said she would call them immediately. When scripts were ready we went to the counter and only TWO of the FOUR were there and the pharmacy said that was all that was called in. Called WakeMed AGAIN and was told all the physicians/PAs were busy and theyd call it as soon as one was available. ANOTHER 15 minutes later and still no call to the pharmacy and now theyre 20 minutes from closing. Called again to WakeMed to see if there was a HUMAN who could simply call in the REMAINING prescriptions, got same explanations about them getting busy, bla bla bla. I cant be exposed to someone whos recently had a flu shot much less actually has the flu.Having spent many years in the health field, Closing hours should mean the time you lock the door and no longer accept new patients.

The wait was incredibly long, and it wasnt due to the ammount of patients. I was in the lobby since 12:45, got into a RN station at 2:30

When i got my first day of injury Dr. Dont stitches and told me to come back after 3 days for stitches. 24 hrs of open skin you cant stitch it anymore. Dr. Should know better when a skin flap open . I waited 2 hrs for the first visit and 3 hours for my 3rd visit And they put me in the room for another 30 to 45 mins. I thought it was an urgent Care it was really frustrated for the whole Time of my treatment. They doesnt do the right thing i suffer for contusions and inflammation, infection, pain and suffering for 2 weeks cant able to sleep well for my pains, cant able to work and do anything in my left hands. I keep coming back over and over again but it seems like my injury havent been fix or heal, its getting worst. And Nurse blame me for not letting them touch my injury, i swear i dont said that words. Im only a patient they are the care providers they knows the medical field and should do what is right for the patient. I have a serious cut and infection is not even funny. It was a nightmare for me until now. Also front desk employees are not friendly.

The physician and office staff are very friendly, the wait time was minimal, and they were able to adequately address my needs. What I have a problem with is the billing practice! I paid a $35 copay up front, and my exam required an X-Ray. About a month after the visit, I got a bill for $35 from WakeMed Specialty Physicians, whom owns the practice. I called my insurance company and was informed that WakeMed billed me separtely for a radiology reader co-pay for the xray, and that it was technically legal for them to do so, even though it was the same onsite physician that looked at the xray! Im in the process of challenging this bill, so beware of the shady billing practice of WakeMed. They will stick you on the back end! Update: the folks at WakeMed fixed the bill and canceled the additional $35. that being said, I wonder how many folks just pay the bill with out asking questions. I know that the hospital had issues with false billing statements/practices and thee was a lawsuit that they settled regarding such practices. Lets hope thats all in the past!

Staff was good...about 35 minute waiting time.I saw dr. terlonge...i had bad poison ivy -allergic reaction and started getting worse when i was at work. i started getting blisters all over my body and thats when i decided to go to urgent care. i told him that he need to me give me something that would stop spreading it -like prednisone. but he gave me antibiotic instead. he didnt suggest any strong antihistamine or anything for the itch either. i took the antibiotic that night and next day twice.. it got worse by next day night. some of the blisters got so big and got plenty new. i went to my primary next day and the doctor there gave me prednisone and antihistamine and thats when it stopped getting worse. I think the reason why people goes to urgent care is to stop the condition getting worse. i could have waited until next day morning to get antibiotic from my primary doctor. i ended up taking 6 days steroid and 14 days antibiotic just because i took too long to start steroid and the condition got worse in 2 days without it.dr terlonge decided to treat the infection and not worry about it spreading i guess.overall, my visit didnt serve the purpose of going to the urgent care.

At first I was having a great experience. They stayed late to care for my wounds and very friendly staff. Then the follow-up appointment came. They charged me a co-pay to write a perscription and their reasoning was because a doctor evaluated me, which they had to do anyway to remove my stitches. They told me on my initial appointment when my stiches were put in that on the follow-up i wouldnt have to pay anything additional for my stiches to be removed. However because there was a little infection she noticed, i was charged a co-pay for the dr to write a perscription. Thats not appropriate in my opinion and seemed like a cheap way to get more money.

Went there because Id been feeling faint and had a heart rate between 110-130 for hours and was told Id been having a panic attack and that all my physicals were normal (which I was not and Im pretty sure tachycardia isnt normal) and I had to talk the doctor into running more tests because this had been happening regularly for MONTHS and got sent home without so much as a painkiller for the associated chest pains
