After a morning of abdominal agony, I went in to the WakeMed ER on 8/31/21 to have my appendix checked and sure enough it needed to come out!Everyone taking care of me was wonderful from start to finish during this unprecedented time of hospital overflow.I met Dr. Ndidi Azikiwe soon before the surgery and immediately felt at ease that it would be fine. At midnight, they took me to the OR. Later in the morning, after I was awake, she came to sit with me and my husband for a bit, explained everything and answered all my questions. By 8:30am I was discharged! There was very little pain after surgery and by one week out the incisions were healed.I’m so thankful that Dr. Azikiwe was the one available for my surgery! She was a very calm presence, knowledgeable and skilled, and I know I was in good hands.Thank you Dr. A!

Im 29 years old and have never been put under before. I ended up having to have gallbladder removal a few days ago. To say I was nervous was a understatement. Dr. Ndidi made me feel so at ease by the time I was being wheeled in for surgery I had 100% faith in her and the whole team working on me. From the bottom of my heart thank you so so much to Dr. Ndidi and the entire staff at WakMed north yall are amazing.

I was so nervous going into the office. Dr. A and nurse Alice made me feel so at ease. Took really good care of me. If you ever need a general surgeon she’s the one.

Dr. Azikiwe is an amazing doctor. I recently had an inguinal hernia repair. I was worried about using mesh. She answered all my questions clearly and put my mind at ease. She is kind, compassionate, and informative.Every WakeMed employee was professional, kind and thorough.She did an amazing job.
