Dr.Colson and all the staff that works have always been good to me. I’ve been coming here ever since I was a kid and never had any problems. The people that work here are nice, they always make sure that I’m taken care of and my teeth are clean healthy. They always get the Job done and there service is one of the best. I appreciate them all the time and thank them every time I come here. If it wasn’t for them my teeth would’ve fell out.

Great dental office, all the staff are cool and the the lady at the front who greets you is super sweet. The office is very clean which is really why I like coming here. I just want to thank Dr. Colson and his wonderful staff. I had a horrible toothache that kept me up all night. They took me right in and did a Root Canal on me. I felt no pain during my procedure. My Root Canal was done at no time. Not to mention that you can watch your favorite movie while you are having your dental work done. If you are in need of a dentist please give them a call. Weve always heard that dentists visits are supposed to be scary, full of pain and suffering, but that isnt the case at the Colson Dental Group on Sunnybrook Road, in Raleigh, NC.I have been coming to the Colson practice for years and I have been impressed with the dental treatments I have received from both Doctors Senior (initially) and Junior (currently), as well as the professionalism and courtesy of their staff.The office is always clean and I appreciate the old school R&B (and jazz) music which is played in the waiting area, as it is very soothing before a visit.

I was seen on November 4, 2020. It was the worst day of my life.I went in for a Crown on my tooth.. I had the Impression made by the assistant.After that. I received two shots of Anesthesia from Dr. Colson, and about 20 minutes later I began severely swelling in my face and my left eye swoll completely shut.Dr.Colson gave a prescription of Motrin said it would reduce the swelling.But, did not offer any additional help such as EMS.Because of the condition he left me in my daughter took me to the ER and there I was admitted in the hospital.I do not want this to happen to anyone else.PLEASE!! Let this be a warning....

My first time there as a patient. My daughter went there twice and her first experience wasnt too great because she was scared of the machines. But, they worked with her. The staff was super nice and the Dentist was very informative. However, they had a travel dental hygienist that was not warm or welcoming. She dismissed my daughter who is 5 years old that joined me on this visit. She was very rough when cleaning my teeth. Ive experienced many dental hygienists in my lifetime and she was the worse. If I go back there, I would hope not to get her again.

My first cousin was seen on 11/4/2020 for a crown. After receiving two shots of anesthesia, her face and left eye began to immensely swell. As her face began to swell Dr. Colson did not bother calling EMS,. Dr. Colson sent her home with a prescription for Motrin and stated it would reduce the swelling. I received an emergency phone call stating that she was in the ER do to Dr. Colson’s neglect. Later that evening she was admitted into the hospital. Needless to say her family and I were distraught to see her in such critical condition, especially since she’s always been the picture of health. Dr. Colson is an awesome dentist. I had complications with tooth on right side of mouth, so I had root canal and no more problems. I also had a bridge done on left side of mouth. I am really happy with the way it turned out...they look and feel like my real teeth!!! Also, the receptionist, dental assistants are very friendly, and helpful. Dealing with the VA paperwork can be a lengthy process, but they got me set up to take the x-rays, deep cleaning, and other dental work very quickly. My daughter also had x-rays, cleaning, and all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. She felt comfortable.... no problems!!! Highly recommend this dentistry!!!

Excellent dentist and staff. I am always satisfied with my entire visit. The staff is always very warm and eager to help. Dr Colson is very calm and considerate, very mild mannered and that means a lot to me. He also provides me with the sound/solid advice needed to make decisions regarding my dental care and up keep.

The receptionist was great! Wish I remembered her name, an African America lady who put in my insurance. But I did not care for the Dental Hygienist that checked my teeth nor the Dentist. They told me I had cavities and that I should get them filled in. I found another dentist office and got told the opposite. The other dentist I found actually wanted to save my teeth that were decaying before immediately resulting to fill ins that would give them more money. At Colsons I felt rushed and felt like not enough preventative information was given to me. But I did go to them back in the middle of 2019....

As much as I hate to go to the dentist, this place is amazing! Receptionist will treat you like a king or queen, staffs are professional. Doctors are incredible compassionate and know what they are doing. One of them is Colson! Few names in my mind during my multiple visits that took good care of my teeth are: Britney and Tanisha .... you got to meet them!My teeth used to bleed each time I brush them, a year later it is totally the opposite. As a Registered Nurse, I will Highly recommend them to your family.

I went to the Dentist with a hole in my tooth. He looked at it, without touching anything and then told me he would reschedule. Charged me a $40 copay & charged my insurance and he did absolutely nothing. Never got a call for a follow up appointment. I found a new dentist. Sad part is his father was my dentist since I started growing teeth. Over 25 years I never dreamed of going anywhere else until now. I was in pain and I was livid!

I had the privilege of working with Catherine, she was excellent with her customer service and made sure I was comfortable with everything I had worked on. I would recommend this office to anyone, I will be back.

Ive scheduled an appointment online for something that was seriously bothering me, nobody called me back to confirm the appointment. Its been almost 2 months of trying to get in contact with them. I had to go with another dentist, and they are so much faster and better. But I can say the staff their is wonderful.

My daughter came in March 18, 2020 for an annual check up... Received one filling daughter informed me she had discomfort, pain and couldnt chew right due to the filling. I called and spoke to James Colson about my daughter issues. James Colson informed me he was close, I asked if he had anyone on call? His response was come in on Monday and hung up on me.... Being seen at Dr. Colsons practice is always a great experience. I started seeing his father (before he retired) well over a decade ago and he and EVERYONE in the office has continued the same excellent service. I must say I was a bit disappointed. I am new to the area and needed a new dentist and I always try to find a culturally fitting healthcare provider. I arrived at the office 10 minutes prior to my appointment to find the office had not yet opened. It was not until 5 minutes before my appointment that the door was unlocked. The receptionist was very nice, however due to not having requested me to complete my new patient paperwork prior to my appointment, I waited another 20 minutes for healthcare to be verified, making it almost 30 minutes past my appointment time by the time I was seen. Im assuming I was seen by a traveling hygienist as she told me she was filling in for someone. She had to ask the other hygienist for instructions on everything she had to do, which is extremely off putting for a new patient. Nevertheless, I decided to still give it a try. She was very rough, and almost oblivious to the other teeth in my mouth, she wasnt working on. The tools banged against the side of my mouth and other teeth, plastic fell in my mouth from one of the tools, I was poked in the tongue with the scraper. The cleaning was very fast and rough without so much as check in with me to see if I wasnt in excruciating pain. The polishing of my teeth happened within about 4 minutes flat. I do not believe a thorough job was completed. When the Dr. came in, he seemed very pleasant but only poked at about 3 of my teeth and said we can take a look at those at your next check up. I was quite displeased with the lack of advice, counseling or even information on my xrays, cleaning, or overall condition of my oral health, so I asked if there was anything they could tell me or anything I should know, suggestions, anything...I was simply told no and that I was good to check out. I asked about teeth whitening and straightening my bottom row of teeth and I was told I could only be referred to an orthodontist for consultation and the receptionist could give me info on teeth whitening. There was no personalized information by looking at my X-rays or the color of my teeth, nothing. I believe in very personal service in healthcare, I do not want to feel like just another insurance provider number. If you are looking for a fast food type of dentistry visit, I highly recommend this as that is the type of service I received. If youre looking for a dental visit that will give you personal service and share information with you on how to maintain or attain oral health, Id suggest going elsewhere. Maybe Im just used to a different level of service and professionalism.
