We had a wonderful experience at RM Ferguson Funeral Service for my father. As this is the first passing in the family that we have had living down here we had no idea where to turn to and although we had many reservations at first mostly because of the distance it was from our home, we quickly felt at ease the moment we went there. Mr. Ferguson stopped what he was doing and hugged us in the parking lot to console us, everything we had questions of he took so much time to help answer including what happens afterwards and where to turn. I highly, highly recommend them.

I give this a 2 star because of the lack of communication is terrible I understand that I takes time to do funerals I get that l! But the communication for the director isn’t my ideal of how I director should be! First I did even get a call that they had came and got the body and had it at the funeral! I feel that should be automatic especially when someone is grieving, I have to call to see if the body is there?? Why?? That’s should have been the first thing they did after they identified her or whatever they do! Then after that, the director doesn’t really explain the process( mind you I’m taking care of this funeral for someone else) so I’m asking people and googling to get about how long it takes, again why should I have to ask! His response is a if there isn’t no special request then pretty much he a get done when it’s time! Then he gets the occupation wrong and the gender wrong of the persons who has deceased daughter! Had to email him back and tell him that well I called, then when I called I said sent you the email back he gone say I haven’t even checked it! Like what are you doing??? I don’t want to come off wrong but this what happened! Like I said I get it takes time but at least inform me on where everything stand so I can have at least so clarity so I can calm my spirit! That’s all I ask! Then he said he was bring the obituaries to me never showed up neither did they call! That’s all I have to say! I had my experience with them now I’m done! Will not go back nor refer anyone! God bless!!

Even though there were a few hiccups, they went ABOVE and BEYOND to make things right. Even making a 2.5 hour one way trip to deliver the ashes and urn. I hope to never use them again (for obvious reasons), but if the need arises I would not hesitate to use them. They were beyond gracious and kind to our family.

My experience with R.M Ferguson surpassed any that I ever expected. Everyone there was incredibly helpful and sensitive to the fact that I lost my mother and wanted the very best for her. I can’t believe the value, either. It was better than any I’ve seen before. My cremation jewelry and my mother’s urn are both beautiful. I couldn’t have asked for better service and value.

I called several places when anticipating a direct cremation for my mother. Mr Ferguson offered an efficient and cost effective service which allowed me to spend my time being with my mom and family. Delivering the ashes back to me at my home was an added service and time saver. Later, I compared notes with a friend who also recently lost her mother and opted for a direct cremation. She paid 4 times the cost at a local funeral home.

As someone who works in the industry, I didn’t appreciate the funeral director not only messing up my friends name, but also his date of birth and his nephews name during the reading of the obituary, nor did I appreciate the commercial given by the younger director (I assume an apprentice) during the committal and recession. Any funeral home that feels the need to have a pre-written speech regarding ministry and an honor to work for the family is only presenting a commercial for further work. The fact is, we do it because we love what we do. We don’t need to make a public announcement. The family should know from our actions with them and the reverence we pay to their loved ones what an honor we see this as. The funeral was unorganized, barely chaperoned with no one directing visitors to the guestbook or into the chapel and quite frankly, nothing more than a mess. The directors had far too much participation without allowing the pastor/celebrant to lead the funeral. Any funeral home that advertises cremation only prices on their website for only $795 and doesn’t have a physically listed contact location on their site is to be strongly avoided. They may be licensed, but they are freelancers who lack actual experience in a high end funeral home. Unfortunately, you do get what you pay for.

There are few people truly special enough to work with families in their time of greatest grief, and the Ferguson family are those people. At the loss of my mom, Mr. Rumeal Ferguson showed great compassion and patience and was always reachable to answer questions or help me. And when his family came to pick up my mom from hospice, where she passed, his aunt hugged my sisters in the hallways as if they were her own children, because she could tell they were hurting. That gesture meant more to me than words can express.

As others have stated I was worried that all the 5 star reviews were too good to be true, but they weren’t. Rumeal couldn’t have been more professional, compassionate or attentive. He made a difficult time so much easier than it could have been. Don’t let the reasonable price scare you. Even the urn was nicer than I expected.

Mr. Fergusons reviews were all 5 stars, which seemed too good to be true at first, but after the first phone call it was clear why people have such a good experience working with his service. He is patient, clear, knowledgeable, and family-focused. Like another reviewer said, the only time payment or price came up was when we mentioned it. Thats not his focus. He remained this way throughout the entire process and made things as painless for us as possible, which is what you need during loss. I would highly recommend this service.

Ferguson Funeral Service keeps its cost low by not having a funeral home, and instead working directly with a licensed crematorium in Raleigh. He even gave us the address and contact information of the crematorium so that we could check out the facility for ourselves.The facility checked out, and we decided to go with R. M. Ferguson.Let me tell you, Rumeal was wonderful. So kind, so caring...he made a very difficult time in our lives so much easier. Everything was done promptly, correctly, carefully, and at the promised price. I was able to inform her with confidence that we were in good hands; that upon meeting Mr. Ferguson he had clearly explained exactly what we were paying for, that there had been no hidden fees (he even gave us a military service discount), and that he had every intention of supporting us in every way he could to make this process as swift and as easy as such a thing can possibly be. That peace of mind, and the fact that I was able to give my wife the same peace of mind, was invaluable in such a tumultuous period. I hope not to require his services again for a long time, but when I do, I know who to go to first.

The experience of a love one dying is always hard and traumatic but they made it so much more bearable. Customer service was beyond excellent and it showed in their actions that they truly care. The price was the cheapest that we found in the area as well. While it was awful we needed the service at all I am grateful that we chose to use R.M. Ferguson Funeral Service. He came out on a Saturday and personally delivered my husbands ashes. He was actually a little late because he noticed the coroners office still had my husbands wedding band. He actually made a special trip to pick it up for me. I cant express just how greatful I am for everything they did for our family!!
