Having had several family members who needed assisted living services over the years, I speak from experience. All of the senior living facilities out there are beautiful, but the Grand Residence at Upper St. Clair is , simply put, a cut above. The place is beautiful. The food is exceptional. The apartments are the most spacious that I have seen. At the core of this place, most importantly, are management and staff who have a genuine passion for what they do. When you want an answer to a question or you have a concern, you get it and you get it quickly from people who understand and care . Being somewhat of a foodie, if the Grand Residence was a restaurant, it would have Michelin Stars. Most importantly, they really care about your loved one!

The Grand Residence is a real standout. These places all look outstanding when you walk in. How do you choose one over the other? I couldnt exactly put my finger on it at first. I now attribute this difference to the fact that the Grand is not owned by some long distant corporation but rather is owned and operated by a long time Pittsburgh family. If you have a question or an issue, they are there to address it. Many of the employees have been there for over 10 years. High employee turnover is the norm today. Staff stay at the Grand long term and it shows. Everybody there takes your family members care personally. The Grand is a real value in todays world providing the highest quality at a fair price. It really is like family taking care of family.

I have been a resident of Pittsburghs South Hills and a practicing attorney for many years. In my practice, I have had a number of clients who moved into various assisted living facilities in the Pittsburgh area. Consequently, I have had many opportunities to visit various facilities, and discuss their services and financial issues with their management. When asked to recommend an assisted living facility, I always highly recommend the Grand Residence at Upper St. Clair. The Grand Residence has a solid reputation and an experienced staff, and the building is beautiful. The dining room not only serves delicious food (as I was served during several meetings), it provides a “restaurant” style atmosphere unlike the cafeterias maintained by other facilities. As a family-owned business, the Grand Residence has “hands-on” management that promotes an open discussion between the staff and the residents.

My parents lived at The Grand Residence. After a period of acclimation, they loved living there. The staff made them feel “at home.” They loved having choices at meal time, the quality of the food and being able to choose where they sat for meals. My mother’s needs were easily met by the nurses and aides employed by The Grand Residence. They said it was the best decision they made.

I would just like to share my experience with the Grand residence in upper Saint Clair Pennsylvania. It’s the worst feeling when you have to put a parents into a assisted-living or a nursing home. Had my mother in Havencrest and it was just abuse after abuse broken toe bedsores so awful. Then my mother went to the Grand Residence I see why they call it the grand this facility is beautiful from the library’s to the antique furniture to the beautiful room that my mother had. The grounds are beautiful love the flowers. The activitys are always fun something to do they take you everywhere to the track farm,Shopping ,sightseeing ,Sunday drives, To the doctors and Other appointments. There’s a doctor on hand all kinds of nurses, therapist they even have a beauty parlor . All the staff is excellent they will stop whatever they’re doing to assist you. It’s always a special place at the Grand for holidays they have a baby grand piano they bring in musicians they have parties they have balls and the chef is just that an excellent chef. Everything is made from scratch Three amazing meals a day plus snacks or whatever you’re hungry for ask and they’ll get it.All kinds of flavors of homemade gelato and the desserts are always amazing. So if you’re looking for a happy, safe ,beautiful place for your parents The Grandresidence is where you want them to be

My mom lived at The Grand Residence for years. Although she was resistant to leaving her home, she quickly made friends and loved everything about The Grand Residence. She loved the food, activities, staff, and her apartment. The food was so good, she never wanted to go out to eat so we would go eat with her in the dining room. She especially loved their homemade soups. When her memory started to decline, the staff were kind and patient with her even though she could be really difficult at times. The staff knew just what to do to help her and care for her. Eventually Mom needed hospice and they came right in to the Grand Residence and helped care for her.I am so grateful for The Grand Residence and all the staff because they provided the best quality of care to Mom around the clock and made the last years of her live better than I could have imagined. The nurses, aids, activities, front desk, servers, driver, housekeepers, chefs and office staff knew Mom and her needs so well ...it gave me real peace of mind. At The Grand Residence, Mom lived her best life! Later in life if i ever need help, I want to live at The Grand Residence.

My grandmother lived at the Grand Residence for over 10 years. She loved her life there, we enjoyed the community as family members and we were so grateful for her years of care there. At first she was reluctant to give up her freedoms of independent living. All those worries were quickly dismissed as she settled into her new life at the Grand. She made new friends, loved helping others who needed assistance, meeting other guests’ families, befriended staff who assisted her daily, going on the shopping trips and other adventures, having daily meal specials to look forward to, her weekly hair appointments in the salon and so much more. She enjoyed hosting family and friends visiting in the dining room without any prep or clean up on her part. It was like she enjoyed showing off her new home & community to her visitors. It was a lovely community to visit and bring my kids (her great grandchildren). She enjoyed showing off the grandkids and they enjoyed meeting the other guests who lived there. On warm days we’d enjoy sitting on the back patio where we could lunch, the kids could enjoy the fountain and see what was growing in the garden. Sometimes we’d stroll down to see the creek and my grandma enjoyed watching the kids explore. The monthly family nights were a nice anchor for our visits. The entertainment was varying and fun and the monthly themed desserts were amazing! Other special events through the year were such a joy for my grandmother such as the Firemen’s Ball or Trick or Treat with the community coming in. We were grateful for the kindness & respect my grandmother was given by the staff. There was a lot of comfort in knowing she was safe and well cared for. The environment was always clean and well cared for. It’s a gorgeous building decorated beautifully which we appreciated compared to more institutional settings we visited. Such care and thought from the fresh flowers on each dining table to the seasonal decor. It was the perfect fit for my grandmother to spend her last decade of life living in such a thoughtful community. She so enjoyed her life there and we enjoyed becoming part of the community there. The Grand Residence gave her the quality of life she was accustomed to and the support she needed as her needs grew greater. We were grateful to have the peace of mind knowing we could trust in her care.
