I am writing this for my grandmother. I would like to let everyone know how disappointed I am with Home Instead. Without any notice, they called on Friday afternoon and said they would not be coming anymore and that day would be my last with their help. I need help with my husband, getting him out of bed and help bathing him. Leaving me with no help, and difficulty finding someone over the weekend. Am I wrong thinking they should have given me more notice? Or is consideration not in their policy?

Our family feels very grateful to have found Sharon, Sarah and the rest of the team at Home Instead. From our first interaction over a year ago through the ice storm of yesterday, our mom has received timely, dedicated, consistent, and compassionate care. Sharon checks in regularly to ensure things are running smoothly. She is always available to answer questions, act as a sounding board, and help us with our moms changing needs. She is genuinely kind, caring and empathetic while being professional in every regard. And, we have grown to consider Sarah a part of our family. We know that when our mom is with her during the day, she is in good hands. We thank Home Instead for helping all of us navigate this journey.

We’ve been using Home Instead for about three months for my moms care and we’ve been extremely pleased. The caregivers are knowledgeable, efficient, caring and compassionate people. Sharon, the client coordinator is just exceptional. She quickly addresses each and every issue we might have in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend Home Instead for their caregiving services.

Our client care coordinator, Sharon, is very responsive and understanding, and has been quick to resolve issues we’ve encountered. The office has also been good communicating, as well as adapting the schedule and adding care as we’ve needed it, at times on very short notice.

Our family has been using Home Instead for nearly 3 years now for my elderly parents that live in the North Hills. Their care is comprehensive, compassionate, and very reliable. The communication between our caregiver as well as administration has been an easy road to navigate. I have been particularly impressed with their attention to detail during this time of crisis in the community especially with elderly guidelines. We began using Home Instead Senior Care in September 2019. My dad is in his late 80s and lives alone. I had been helping him over the years, but it was getting to be too much. They came in, did an assessment and matched him with a caregiver, who is still with him today. They help him with the everyday chores, cleaning, laundry, meals, errands and keep him company. They have added structure to his days and have given him a reason to get out of bed. I would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone looking for this type of service.

Overall, this was a very good service that met our ever-changing needs due to Moms complicated care situation. The original call, and then meeting, could not have gone any better. Sharon answered my many questions and was beyond professional, but more importantly kind. This put my Mom at ease and let her know we were in good hands. Sharon was there on the first day when my Mom came home and was always a constant presence. Sharon would call and also make visits to make sure the everything was humming along as smooth as possible. Home Instead also made sure that, as the primary caregiver, POA and point of contact, all of my communication needs were more than met.

This office is a family. I am thankful to be working with these people who care for me as much as the clients. They are always attentive to my schedule needs, and requests. My fellow caregivers also care about each other, and are great sharing pointers to help our clients. If I am ever in need, I know my co-workers and my Home Instead office has my back!

Our family was in a crisis mode as our Mom was hospitalized twice in the span of 2 weeks. It was necessary to find and provide 24/7 care upon release to keep her safe and secure. Home Instead and all the professional and compassionate team members rose to the occasion to onboard and provide the consistency of a permanent engaged and caring team of caregivers to meet her needs. We are really pleased and would highly recommend Home Instead.

For the past 7 years we have used Home Instead Senior Care from the Perrysville office in Pittsburgh, PA for my elderly mother. They have been wonderful. My mother has dementia and they take care of all aspects of her care which has enabled mom to stay in her home. Her caregivers are trained in memory care skills and over the years have kept mom active outside of the home as well as help continue moms interest in her house plants and other home activities. Moms caregivers have been warm and caring. We consider them to be a part of our extended family. We have peace of mind using Home Instead.

My experience working with this office has been fantastic,due to covid19. Ive been pretty busy. With steady work.The administration staff has been very informative about clients and assist me with helpful items such as gloves, thermometers etc.

Homeinstead is a great place to work! The staff are extremely kind, generous, and heart warming people. They are extremely flexible with schedules and time off. Lastly they have an excellent group of staff members who take great care of there seniors. I absolutely love homeinstead

They say they drug test everyone but they do NOT!!! They blow employees phones up to cover shifts daily. Part time means overtime to them. A fellow employee told me they actually came to her home when she didn’t answer the phone to cover a shift! They pay employees less then half of what the client pays for their care. And even when diagnosed with the FLU they want you to go care for these seniors and expose them rather then calling off! They will fire you even with a medical excuse! Way understaffed and terrible company to be employed with. I would NEVER allow these ppl to care for my loved ones!

I enjoy working with the clients. Home Instead provides a great quality of services to the people they serve.

Every staff member that we encountered was caring and professional. We couldnt have asked for better over the many years we used this service. Well worth it!

From January 2014, when we brought my mother home from assisted living with help from a CCM, through March 2015, when my mother was committed to a nursing home following a sudden illness and a subsequent bout with c. diff, the North Hills Home Instead office consistently provided my mother with the caregiving support she needed to remain at home. Then, after the three months that it took her to recover from c. diff, the North Hills office arranged for the caregivers that my mother had come to know to be with her on a daily basis at the nursing home where she is now confined-- all three of whom treated my mother with respect and compassion.Having seen how a lack of continuity in caregiver support has impact others who have needed to assume responsibility for their parents has given me an appreciation for what Home Instead has provided for my mother.This office, moreover, has been very good about communicating with my brother and me with regards to exceptional events that have necessitated episodic changes in caregiving duties. Most recently, this included a follow-up to an unsuccessful attempt to intervene on our behalf, following the homes decision to deny access to all non-staff personnel, and a promise to resume care if (argh!) and when the prohibition on visitation is lifted.This pretty much sums it up, except for saying that my brother is also pleased with the service that Home Instead has offered.

This location and its staff deserve not only thanks for their service but for OUTSTANDING professionalism, caring and financial operations! Sharon was my 1st point of contact and she immediately handled the services needs for my elderly aunt faster than I thought possible. Serena gave me a complete overview of the work schedule for aides assisting my aunt so I always knew when and who would be providing care. The aides were wonderful ladies and even though it was a short-term service assignment while we worked on placement in a personal care facility, my aunt found a special friend in Ginny who was so thoughtful. On the last service day, when I was moving my aunt from her apartment into the new facility, Angie helped set up a farewell lunch when several neighbors showed up to say goodbye. It was so touching! If you have a loved one who needs special assistance, whether for short term like us, or a longer time, DO NOT hesitate to contact Home Instead. GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PROFESSIONALS!!!

THE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A SENIOR AGENCY!!HOME INSTEAD CLAIMS TO EMPLOY KNOWLEDGEABLE, TRAINED STAFF TO CARE FOR DEMENTIA PATIENTS. NOT AT ALL TRUE!HIRING HOME INSTEAD WAS TO HELP ELIMINATE SOME OF THE DAILY STRESS & WORRY WE HAD WITH A LOVED ONE LIVING HOME ALONE WITH DEMENTIA.ALL WE GOT WERE NON-STOP PHONE CALLS FROM HELPERS WHO DID NOT HAVE A FREAKING CLUE HOW TO DEAL WITH SOMEONE WITH DEMENTIA. DEMENTIA MEANS A PERSON MAY HAVE NUMEROUS MELTDOWNS, BEING EXTREMELY CONFUSED, ASKING THE SAME QUESTION 20 TIMES IN A ROW. WE WERE CALLED BY HELPERS ASKING THE SAME QUESTION OVER AND OVER, WHAT SHOULD I DO?. WE TRIED TO KEEP OUR LOVED ONE IN THE COMFORT OF THEIR OWN HOME BY HIRING THIS AGENCY.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SENIOR AGENCY SERVICE FOR MY WORST ENEMY LET ALONE TO CARE FOR A BELOVED FAMILY MEMBER. HORRIFIC.

CAREGIVER HAS BEEN EXCELLENT UNDERSTANDS OUR SPECIAL NEEDS AND HAS A GREAT TENDER AND CARING APPROACH. THE ORIGINAL EVALUATION OF OUR NEED WAS THROUGH AND THE FOLLOW UP ON TARGET.

Great Place to Work! I have been with Home Insteads North Hills Office for 13 years, and enjoy the working with office staff,who are caring and available for the CAREGivers. The CAREGivers we work with have gone through orientation and been trained, but they have more than skills, they have kindness, loyalty and a desire to really care for our Clients physical and emotional needs.

I worked there for 5 years. My consumer passed away. The family mailed a bonus check to the office and I never got it. The company kept it. Then shortly after I was let go.

These people really care. So responsive. Couldnt recommend them more highly.
