Our father was a resident at the Roosevelt Rehabilitation Center several times. We are very grateful to the entire rehab staff for everything they did to make his stays as comfortable as possible. Besides taking care of his medical needs, the nurses and other staff members were also able to provide social support to him. The latter was especially important and very challenging since our dad could barely understand English and visitation was not possible at some point due to the COVID restrictions. Later, when the pandemic situation got improved, we found out that the center was very accommodating in terms of visitation and willing to address needs and requests of both resident and family. For us, crossing the language barrier, ability to communicate with and to visit our dad were the primary concerns and they were fully resolved by the rehab workers. Thank you so much for all you did for our family.

A friend of mine is here. The staff is horrible. They refuse to clean her, brush her teeth. They tell her they are too tired to care for her. The tell her that they dont like to care for her because she is too slow and too much work. People here really sick as being compassionate and caring.

I would not recommend this place. They are understaffed which means poor care for the residents there. This is true especially for the residents that are bed ridden who cant get out of bed and get food for themselves. They are stucking laying in bed 24/7 without proper care and meals.

I’m here now so everyone has been nice except one person had a attitude downstairs.. The situation the first night I was here I went downstairs to get my walker and some lady behind the desk yelled at me and telling me I was not supposed to be downstairs and made me feel like I was in some kind of freaking prison prison.. I wanted to leave here but the manager Josh talked me out of it and to give them one more chance. But everyone has been very nice!! I’m going to update this daily until I’m outta here.2/22/21Today makes two weeks that I’ve been here meet a lot of great people Chris, Ethan, Christina, Kevin.. There’s actually too many people to mention there’s a couple people here on the second floor I can live without but I keep a distance from them.. made friends with a few other patients.. this is a nice place I will highly recommend it for anyone that has issues like I came down with.. If I ever had to come back here I would.. someone is supposed to give me a sweatshirt with their name on it so that will help advertise this place and I will give a added recommendation.. Too bad I can’t give them 10 star rating.. I would guess I probably have another three days to a week here and then I’m out of here..

My grandmother is new to the facility. Weve had so many bad experiences. First conversation with the staff here was so reassuring. Its been a few days and she hasnt complained once. Im looking forward to her new journey here. Thanks to everyone involved in advance🙏🏾

I became the Food Service Director at Roosevelt on July 1st 2020. I was greeted with open arms by all staff members and residents. Since working at This facility I have noticed something I haven’t seen in any other facility I have worked in and that is the staff enjoy coming to work and the environment and atmosphere is positive and extremely friendly. I look forward to being here for a long time and increasing the positive feedback we have been getting about our food and level of care for our residents. Great place to work and I am grateful to be a part of this family.

My uncle was recently at Roosevelt Rehab. We were really worried about having him go to a rehab because of COVID but the staff there quickly made us comfortable.He could barely walk when he got there but at the end of 4 weeks, he was back to his normal self, walking and being pretty independent.The therapy team was fantastic, he said the nurses were really nice and helped him whenever he needed it. It was tough because we couldn’t visit because of Covid but the staff helped him with FaceTime calls so we could see him.Sometimes it would be hard to reach someone to check on him but they have something called a guest services line that we could call anytime and get a call back within a 1/2 hour and get to talk to Chris or Brian who would get us any answers we needed.Roosevelt Rehab cares about patients and their families.We have had experience with a couple other places and it was terrible.Roosevelt is the only place we would use in the future.Thanks to everyone!

This place is a disgrace to the medical field. Disgusting behavior of staff. Not giving my mother her diabetic medications, not completing wound care, and asking her the patient what to do.

The only good thing is that they provide therapy and rehab, but otherwise the cnas and kitchen staff are horrible. My mom has been there for a well and no one wants to change your linens, they dont accommodate from the kitchen when asking for any hot drinks. You they dont do the laundry even though they say they do. Their staff needs to care know about the people who are there and since there are no visitors to see their families and to help them. Hire more staff of you cant accommodate people with being comfortable.

I really enjoy working at Roosevelt Rehab. During the COVID -19, Roosevelt ensure that all employees were provided with adequate PPEs, in direct communications with family regarding their loved one once visitation was restricted. Staff members are really supportive of each. Staff provide excellent care and really care about the wellbeing of the residents.

Im not sure who is publishing these false reviews, but my grandmother had the worst experience. She was healthy the last time I saw her, but when she returned, she looked pale. I assume she was neglected and was not well cared for. Never, ever recommend this location to others. Unless you are willing to take a chance.

I loved everything about Roosevelt from the moment I walked in the front door. I was previously a patient at another nursing home and nothing compares to calling this place my home. Everything I wished for. Its a beautiful building with a beautiful staff. They just really take care of me.

Took my dad to Rosevelt rehab after a terrible experience to another rehab and it was a good decision . They took good care of him during the time he stayed. The therapist were amazing and very helpful. They try to do the maximum and please everyone! I would defenetly recommend Rosevelt Rehab to everyone!

Therapy is by far my favorite part of Roosevelt. After only working with my physical therapist Tim for a few weeks I felt confident walking around with barely any help. I always recommend Roosevelt.. Actually, my neighbor asked me if I knew a good rehab and I let him know of Roosevelt. He actually ended up coming here and being my neighbor down the hall

The quality of the food here is on par with some of. The better hotels I’ve stayed at. For a SNF facility I feel like I’m treated very well, and it challenge the overall standard of nursing homes. It raises the bar for other facilities to compete!

I am pleased to announce that our cardiac program is doing very well for the month of July not one of our cardiac program residents went out to the hospital for any cardiac related issues nor did any of them have any difficulties that our cardiac rehab doctor could not resolve. I am very proud of this program as I assist the cardiologist with focused cardiac assessments. The cardiac assessment is performed thoroughly to assist in identify significant factors that can influence cardiovascular health such as high blood cholesterol, cigarette use, diabetes, or hypertension. We have an EKG machine that we utilize to identify any risk factors for heart disease such as high blood pressure, or symptoms such as palpitations or chest pain. We also work closely with resident with pacemakers. Pacemakers are used to treat arrhythmias with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. I am ACLS certified with a telemetry background and this program allows me to enhance my nursing skills to assist the resident to have a higher function of independence. Great job Roosevelt I LOVE WORKING HERE!!!!!!!!

My father had Covid in august 2020. He was in a horrible facility before coming here. He beat Covid, but they told him he would have to have assisted living for the rest of his life and would never be able to live on his own. We got him out of there brought him to Roosevelt, where they had amazing physical therapy. From being there, he is completely back to where he was before having Covid. Yehuda was his personal concierge and he was absolutely amazing. I can’t say enough about how awesome this man was. He went over and beyond to make sure my father was happy and comfortable. My mom lives here now. The care she receives is amazing. The staff on 2 south is wonderful. They all “get” my mom and know how to take care of her. Not being able to see her now is rough but we talk daily and the staff sets up FaceTime calls. I am beyond happy that we found this gem for my mom! Thank you!! And thank you all for what you do to keep our families safe❤️

My dad was there and had a really terrific experience, therapy was top notch, gave my dad back the independence he hadn’t had in a long time. The staff truly care about their patients. My Father was here a few months ago. I was really impressed from what I was able to watch. He really enjoyed the therapy and to me this place had a nice “family” feel to it. Very friendly and welcoming staff. I would suggest to others!

I came in wheelchair, but now I am able to use a walker. I was a zombie in bed with broken ribs but the staff encouraged me to do therapy . They walked me through it and turned around me around. PT &OT is fantastic.

I trained at Glendale for environmental services. Mark and Anthony are great at what they do. I enjoyed working with the staff. They are personable and the residents put a smile on my face. My grandmother stayed here for her rehab and she had the best experience. She has a bad hip and has several surgeries and stayed other places before.. Glendale Uptown Home treated her like family. The staff was attentive and caring and communicated with my family the entire time. This place is great!!!

My grandmother is currently here and our experience as a whole has been great. Brian the administrator really cares about meeting the needs of each person and their family. The nurses are very compassionate and dedicated to their profession. One of the Registered Nurses/Unit Managers Kathryn was so polite, helpful and understanding the amazing part was my grandmother wasn’t even on her unit but she still went above and beyond, that’s what you call a team player. We received numerous updates concerning my grandma and everyone was so pleasant. I would highly recommend Roosevelt because Nursing is a team effort you can’t just have good nurses and bad cnas and vice versa. To give the best care everyone has to give their best and Roosevelt has exceeded that. It’s a great feeling to know that your loved one is in great hands especially at a time like this (covid 19) when you can’t physically visit. But yet you are constantly updated and your family member is happy and constantly assuring you they are being well taking care. Thanks again to the real life super heroes who don’t wear capes but wear scrubs.

If you are looking for a nursing home for a loved one who is confined to a bed you can give this place a try. If a loved one needs therapy its fine, however if you would like to walk with a loved one for their exercise its forbidden. The therapy room is extremely crowded and under staffed.

When I first came here I was completely out of it. I came a long way. The nursing staff pushed me to keep going and get better. The therapy program is great.

I showed up unexpectedly for a tour of Glendale yesterday and was so surprised at how clean it was. Anne Rumsey the Marketing Director took so much time educating me on what to expect since I was just basically thrown into having to find a place for my dad to go to rehab after her had been independent his entire Life. He is 93. We have never been through anything like this. Our world was turned upside down in days. She brought me so much comfort and made me feel at ease knowing that everything I was feeling was completely valid. When we walked around the building I was so impressed that she knew all of the staffs names and patients and spoke to them during our tour.Her positive energy definitely was so nice to see and put me at ease knowing that . The building is big and beautiful. The staff and residents all were kind. My 2 brothers that were with me are impossible to please, and rarely agree on anything.Anne Encouraged us to go check out the competition in the area because only we would know the best fit for our father. However,We unanimously chose Glendale. I have a little more peace now knowing that my father will be in good hands. Just another side note. When Anne gave us her business card she said her phone is on her 24/7 and to call or text anytime. I had a question last night at 9:30 and was anxious,I called and she immediately answered and again put me at ease and answered my question. We are looking forward to being a part of the community and being a part of the Glendale Family. Thanks again for everything!

Though its not shiny and new, its certainly clean and kept up. The staff are mostly very friendly and helpful. They are willing to help and will often go the extra mile. I never had one of my requests denied and was happy to see they get to know and remember the residents.

My 93 year old father has been at Glendale for about a month now. I am pleased with the staff and the facility. The staff are very supportive and caring and my father looks and feels good! The staff always calls me if there is any unusual occurrence going on with my father and keeps me updated. I am closeby so I try and stop by 3-4x per week to check in with my dad.They are currently renovating the facility. That will make it nicer.The food is decent. Probably better than most nursing homes and visiting hours are 24/7.Overall I am happy with the staff and everyone at Glendale and I would recommend them if you have a loved one in need of a nursing home.

I came by to do a tour and was pleasantly surprised with how clean, organized, and bright the place was. The staff was friendly and attentive. I have visited many places in the last two weeks and this is by far the BEST!!!!

As soon as my family walked in we were greeted warmly and felt an immediate sense of relief knowing we chose the write place for her to live. The staff is friendly,caring and genuinely care about the residents and there families. We love Glendale. We would never go anywhere else. Such a clean, friendly, loving place!

Glendale has very attentive staff who greet you upon entering the building and are willing to help. Nursing and therapy provided quality care to ensure my loved one regained mobility and were able to return home. For the last 2 and a half years I have had the pleasure of working at Glendale Uptown Home as the Foodservice Director . I enjoy spending time with my residents and feeding them everyday. I have seen a lot of changes for the better during my time here, and while I know we can not please everyone 100% of the time, my staff and I do our best to try. The biggest reward is seeing the smiles on the faces of the residents. I take great pride in knowing I work with such a caring, compassionate group of people to make everyday special for our residents.

Just today I was looking for a place closer to us to transfer my dad from his actual nursing home in Reading PA, and after some visits to others centers with my uncle, we choose GUH because looks a nice facility, nice rehabilitation gym, our guide Susan from admissions was very nice and pleasant, she interact with the residents on a daily basis. Just giving 4 stars because on upper levels where the residents are, you smell a particular odor like a hospital, thats because the carpet. It would be better without it since carpet keep all odors when spills occurs. But overall, its very convenient for us because its very close, and thats everything for us, we can go anytime to visit or take him out. Hopefully my dad will feel better on this place, starting transfer process.

The therapy is super, staff is fabulous, very clean

My sister has been a resident of Glendale Nursing home for the past six years and we have both found the staff to be very caring and professional. All of the CNAs and nurses are very approachable and are willing to assist my sister with anything she asks of them. I am always informed of a change of medication or any other tests or appointments that have been recommended for my sister. I feel that she is in a safe and pleasant environment.

My grandmother stayed here for her rehab and said that the help was horrible. She sat in her mess for hours no one helps. No one came to give her the medications when she was supposed to take them. She couldnt move on her own and no one came to help her move. You know, do the things that they are paid to do. Lobby looks nice thats it. Patients hanging around nothing to do. Hallways on floors crowded and smells. Staff doesnt even look up to greet you. And the food was disgusting.

The physical therapy there is great!! They really work you properly to get better! I was on the 2nd floor the nurses that had great wrk ethics are Kevin, Stephanie, Preya, Josh.the aides that were helpful & great were Rayne, kathy, Ashley, Carleen, Ronald & Pracy! Dietary wrkers Robin, Margerette admis.Lexus is great! Matt from activities so much fun! Harrison from housekeeping.Thanks to all I met and treated me good ! They did run put of many of my meds..the system they have there is terrible but the employees I encountered most were hard wrkers..You have to speak up!! Cause you will get taking advantage of, beware of ur rights.I never seen a regular dr the whole 3 weeks I was there and was supposed to the 1st week..It is all about the money,, many employees even told me that besides I witnessed and paid attention while I was there..😰😀

I have been an employee at GUH for 8 yrs and I can honestly say there resident care is excellent and the environment is clean and odor free. The staff work very hard to ensure every resident experience is exceptional.

Horrible place! My father had hip surgery so we placed him in this center for one month to do phisical therapy so he can get better. All they were doing is feeding him with strong pain medications when he didnt need them so he can be sleepy. When it was time for physical therapy he was sleepy and didnt want to do anything. Nurses are careless no one helped him even nurse manager was horrible. I told nurse manager to stop giving so much pain medication he is going to get addicted to narcotic medication she said at this age they get dependent not addicted ! We took him home after month with no result of getting better he got worse and now he is depressed and doesnt want to speak. If you care about your loved one dont bring them to this place.

My loved one was there for a few months. The sink wasnt working properly, no one was trying to fix it even when after I complained a few times. The social worker threatened and said my loved one would end up on the street if we didnt provide documents to extend his stay. I only got the notice a day or 2 that they needed documents, why threaten me when I was worrying about my loved ones health. This tell me all they care is the money, no compassion, no love at all. Do not go to this place if your loved one needs a lot of care.

I was very nervous about finding a nursing home for my aunt. I received little guidance from the hospital and felt completely lost as making the right decision fell on me. Thank god I contacted Glendale uptown. From my first phone call to the admissions office I felt at ease as Anne Rumsey listened to everything I said,my thoughts and fears. While touring the building I noticed happy employees and residents.Everyone says hello to one another and the staff know the patients like family. The building itself is beautifully clean and the rooms are bright and spacious. The staff became our family. My aunt spent 3 weeks at Glendale and got her back to her normal active self after she broke her hip. I would highly recommend Glendale Uptown Home to anyone who was in a similar situation as I was. They took care of everything,and most of all took great care of my aunt.

Working at Glendale has been a great. The staff all work extremely hard to provide excellent care to our residents and the interdisciplinary team works together to ensure that all residents are properly cared for and treated with dignity and respect.

Communication is horrible! Staff seems to be uninformed or just dont care about their patients. My mother -in -law went in walking and talking and is now in a wheel chair! If you love your family members do not take them to Glendale. Incompetent is an understatement ! The other one star reviews are 100% accurate !

My family member stayed at Glendale Uptown for short term rehab. I would highly I would recommend Glendale for anyone looking for quality skilled nursing for their family.

We, regretfully, had my grandfather transferred to this facility once he was released fromNazareth Hospital. He was only to be in this facility for 30 days. His clothing and Social Security funds were stolen during his stay! We had to threaten to file criminal charges in order to have my grandfather’s money returned to his bank account. The entire staff was horrendous and argumentative! The only way I can describe this facility is to refer to it as a Hell hole! My sincere recommendation is to NEVER send any loved ones there!! Look elsewhere!

I have positive and negative things to say about Glendale uptown home. 1) Glendale uptown home is squeaky clean and nice from inside and outside BUT NOT INSIDE OF THE PATIENTS ROOM ! I dont understand, isnt Glendale uptown home for patients who needs good care, Glendale uptown home IS ABOUT THE PATIENTS not to impress people from outside. I wish I can post pictures here so that I can show others what im talking about. 2) Theres one or two assistant on each floor, the staff take forever to come because theyre busy with other patients and its NOT the staffs fault. The owner or manager should deal about this but NO, THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR MONEY MORE THAN THEIR PATIENTS. 3) Almost everything in the patients room looks dirty especially the blankets and curtains. They look like they havent been washed for years. 4) Staffs are really nice and helpful, which I really appreciate. At the end of the day, I would never recommend this place for anyones family.

A word about my familys personal experience regarding our loved one who was at Glendale for approximately 2 months.Glendale Uptown Home should be shut down by the State of Pennsylvania. Executive Team lies and then cover up their lies. They are incompetent, dont communicate, ignore requests for information from family, do not follow through on anything and most importantly endanger the lies of innocent residents. If it wasnt for the intervention of a nearby hospital, on two occasions during the family members brief tenure at Glendale, our loved one would have surely died. The one rating is probably generous, however, there were a few nurses who tried very hard to provide an acceptable level of care in spite of the fact they did not always have updated information in the computer regarding medications, specific directions for care of patient and even necessary tools to take a temperature. My Family refused to let our loved one return to Glendale after the last stay at that nearby hospital. The entire experience was a downward spiral from day one.To avoid this level of pain and anguish for the patient and the family, do not send your loved one to Glendale. This is our experience and our truth.
