ATM NIGHTMARE! I went to the ATM in Maple Shade to make a cash deposit before work. The ATM took my money and gave me a slip that said an Error occurred with returning my cash and kept my money. When I contacted PFFCU regarding the transaction, they could only open a complaint and told me that I may get my money back in a couple of days! I spoke to someone in the branch later in the day and was advised that the ATMs work great when theyre working. If the branch is open, go inside. Dont take the chance of having your money tied up for days with nothing but a receipt that says they cant return your money due to an error with their machine. ALWAYS GET A RECEIPT WHEN USING THEIR ATMS! Its the only thing I have right now to prove that I tried to make a deposit. For now Im still waiting to get my money returned......Frustrating...

I was waiting for a down payment from a new tenant. He went inside to get the funds and called me asking for my full name to be issued a cashiers check. He came back out with the check and receipt for payment. I was waiting in the parking lot and asked their banking policies for cashiers check and was told I can walk-in to cash it. The branch told me I must deposit it although it’s just as good as cash and just was issued from the exact same branch less than 6 minutes ago. I refused to deposit ( I do hold a savings account with pffcu as well). The customer service Staff told me that since I had a an old charge off they wouldn’t honor the cashiers check issued to me from them unless I paid the balance of $1100 from a secured credit card. I then went to check cashing service and customer service told me I must contact the person I received it from to have him contact them to verify my identity although my full name was printed on the check and refused to verify it unless I paid the $1100 old bill. I went to another check cashing service and everything was approved immediately without even contacting pffcu. Pffcu is terrible trying to make me pay an old balance because a tenant chose to pay me buy cashiers check instead of cash.. Cashiers check should be able to be cashed without incident especially if it’s from the same branch that issued it less than ten minutes ago. It was under $8000

I have been charged several times for transferring MY OWN MONEY from one account to another! MY OWN MONEY!! Come to find out that if you process more than 2 transfers in a given month you are charged $10 for each additional transfer! $10! Apparently, they were gracious to waive the fee during COVID (so sick of COVID being an excuse for everything) but reinstated the fee in March 2021. Shame on PFFCU for charging people to transfer their own money to another account! These are tough times, regardless of COVID. So many people out there are struggling so to be charged $10 each time they exceed the 2 transfer per month quota is absolutely disturbing. Good to know my money is filling their deep pockets.

My experience has been the worst and from reading the reviews of other valued members i see they have had issues as well.My mother past away and the end of June I called to see what I needed to do to get access to the funds in her account. This account has less 5han 4000.00 I was told that I either needed a letter of administration or letter of executor. Keep in mind my mothers account is under three thousand dollars. I schedule appointment with probate Court which was in August and paid for the letter of administration. I go back to the bank and I am told that I need a copy of death certificate and a copy of the funeral bill. Have no idea how much her funeral cost was a factor of her account. I needed to deposit a check in her account to be cashed so I did. I come back to the bank for the second time now I dont need the letter of administration but i had received another check and deposited in her account. I went back to the bank after the check cleared to close the account gave them copy of death certificate and funeral receipt and letter aof administration and was told I had to open up an estate account. Also that I did not need the letter of administration which I paid 281.00 for and if I just would have given them the death certificate and funeral receipts that would have been enough.. Since I gave it to them I need to open up an estate account and they want my social security number. I have to deposit 5 dollars of my money into this account get an ein number that they will fill out for you then they will put the money into the account. This is just the start I can go on.

I, unfortunately after my experience with several call center members today, do not agree that PFFCU values its customers and raised this message to Sr. Leadership only to have it fall on deaf ears. Unless they rectify this ..I will actively advise friends and family to bank elsewhere

Please DO NOT GET A LOAN WITH THIS BANK. My parents have a car loan here and my father unexpectedly passed away. First of all Cheryl Brady in collections was absolutely heartless and pretended like I didnt even say that he is gone (the woman I talked to before her was just as bad and said oh my father passed away too. Is that supposed to make me feel better?) I proceed to explain to Cheryl that we need to transfer the car into my moms name and that we already went to a branch with the death certificate and it was uploaded. She proceeds to say that the loan cant be transferred and they dont refinance at the bank so we either give it back to them or go to another bank. For your own sanity go to a bigger, better bank that cares about their customers or at least can help during a tragic time. I cant wait for my mom to fully cut ties with this bank and never have to deal with Cheryl Brady again.Also the bank account was frozen so that the car loan is resolved, but as you can see above no one is willing to resolve the loan. They sent the car loan to collections for no reason; the loan is always paid on time. They are holding my moms hard earned money hostage even though they claim they cant transfer the car to her so why are you taking HER money out??? This place is a FRAUD! RUN FAR AWAY.

I bought a car in October and used Police ans Fire Credit Union because the interest rate was slightly lower than my credit union. It has been the absolute worst experience. I am going to Refinance with my current credit union, Freedom Credit Union, even though my rate will be slightly higher. Trying to pay my bill has been a nightmare. I used online banking like I do for every other bill I have. When I noticed that the bill wasn’t paid, but the money came out of my bank account, I tried calling P&FCU. Customer service was awful! They blamed me and said I did not pay my bill. It wasn’t until I showed them my bank statement that they believed me. Then they blamed Covid for the 3 week delay. I asked during that phone call in NOVEMBER to sign me up for automatic payments. They said it would go into effect the next billing cycle. It’s April, and it’s still not happening! Every month I need to call and make a payment over the phone. I need to wait on hold for an average of 20 minutes until finally I am transferred to someone that can take my payment. I cannot believe how absolutely awful this credit union is. How can it be this difficult to pay your bill each month?!? I don’t care how low the interest rates are (and they weren’t significantly lower) there is no interest rate worth this kind of aggravation every single month! Don’t choose this credit union!

Do NOT use this credit union. I didn’t have a choice when my dealership at Honda picked this because of the interest rate. However, I’m so annoyed that when I try to make my last payment for my car loan, they won’t take the payoff amount over the phone, electronically. Apparently I have to mail a check for the payoff amount but first call them ahead of time to get the updated payoff or contact my bank to do the transfer. Why? I don’t know! None of this makes sense and it’s just more hurdles for you to go through and more time for them to buy off from your money with interest per day. It’s super frustrating because I am ready to pay off my car loan. It’s very inconvenient. They should be clear about this and also I cannot access my account online. They switched things around and now I’m stuck. This place is shady.

Recently the Credit Union Branch on Baltimore Pike in Springfield received a package addressed to my daughter and delivered to their offices in error. They went to all the trouble of researching to find my daughters phone number and called her to let us know it was there. They even registered their concern that the package may have been opened. Steve who left the message even offered to deliver it to my home if necessary. We are not members of the credit union . I cant thank them enough for their care and concern. They could have just sent it back but chose to go to the trouble of finding the rightful owner. If you ever need a credit union I would recommend them highly. Fran Gordon

I have been a member all 36 years of my life, from when my father opened an account when I was born. However, there have been too many coincidences that make me feel less than appreciated as a member. A couple of years ago I asked for a loan and was denied even though I had a high credit score (score was in the 700s). Just recently one of the representatives transferred all of my personal funds to another account that was not authorized by me. Also, on more than one occasion I have been charged twice in one month for late credit card fees even though I have only missed one credit card payment and keep my card usage extremely low. I’d love to be optimistic and say this has nothing to do with my ethnicity and that these are just “mistakes”, however I’ve been alive long enough to see how the color of my skin means I don’t and won’t receive the same care and treatment as my white counterparts. I wish I could give them a quarter of a star since they treat me as a quarter of a member.

Do not open up an account with PFFCU. There are third party companies involved and its a headache to speak to someone about fraudulent charges, or to get an idea of whats going on with your account.

I recently joined PFFCU One of the best decisions I have ever made. I officially closed all of my accounts with my previous bank today. I plan on using PFFCU for all of my banking needs from now on. I’ve always enjoyed working with this bank for the last 5+years until today! I called about some information on charges that I know are incorrect, and got the most unprofessional representative named Lee. After Lee cut me off from speaking several times, Lee told me “you cannot do math, and maybe you need to learn the online system”. First off, who speaks to customers like that, maybe Lee needs to learn a lesson himself, until then I will consider taking my business elsewhere.

You cant use your card after hours!! Been out many times after 9 and my card declines. They should have a limit that you can use in order not to get declined such as atleast 100$!! But you cant even with draw after hours!! They turn your card off

Went here when I first moved to the South Jersey area and I was with my parents. The wait was long but there were a lot of customers so it made sense. They had amazing customer service and the employees were super nice. They were just overall amazing.

I am a member at this bank I applied for a loan and got denied I asked why and was told because of my credit score was to low. I found this to be a red flag because I have credit monitoring and the information they gave me was not the same information I have on my credit Report. I have Credit monitoring which is experian and also Identity IQ. I was even told that there is no such thing as a credit score it just a estimate what my score should be. I ask to speak to the under writing department and Kathy refused to transfer me over. lesson learned dont believe the banks make sure you gather all information before you apply for your loan and apply at the bank location. The information they provide is not accurate. They refuse to do their job. The information they give m e should add up to the information I have on my report.

Dey take dey time while handlin patrons as well, expect a long line most days. Didnt even have my info when I tried to make an inquiry before filin a tax return. I have been a member with this PFFCU Bank since 2003. I never had any problems with anyone here. They help me when I needed a loan. They notified me when someone hacked my account. When I needed documents signed for my Mortgage or when I needed a cashiers check. Also when I needed checks or when I lost my Debit card. No problems.The staff that work here are Awesome!They always showed me respect and always showed Excellent Customer Service.Keep up the great work.

I inquired about refinancing my mortgage June 11th. It is now July 10th and I have not spoken to one person about starting the whole process. When I called today I asked if I could switch from B. Hickman to a more responsive advisor. I was told I would have to wait a week for reassignment and then start the whole process over. I never started to begin with. Its been about 4 months since Covid started. This BANK should have figured out how to work around the current situation. They havent. How are you turning away business? This is ridiculous and incompetence at its finest. Dont waste your time and go to another credit union. If you can get into Navy try them. They provide you their mortgage information, rates, plan, etc. over the phone. You dont have to wait 30 days.

The absolute worst bank I have ever done business with. I got a credit consolidation loan from them to pay off credit cards. First they said they sent out checks but none of my balances were paid, so I had to pay all monthly payments and make the first loan payment even though the money was not disbursed yet. After a couple weeks, still no change. They had to send out a second round of checks through snail mail . Again had to make extra monthly payments. It took 3 months for them to actually pay my credit cards. Now Ive been making all my loan payments, put one through on Saturday. What does PFFCU do, take out another payment without my permission. What a disgrace. I will be filing charges against these thieves today.

I am a customer at Police and Fire Credit Union. My first credit union was at American Heritage and I was referred by an employee of yours; by the name of Ivy Reed. I closed my accounts at AMHCU and ha d been telling Ms. Reed I was in seek of a new bank, she suggested Philadelphia Police and Fire Credit Union. My location preference was the one located in the Cedarbrook Mall. Ivy Reed was at this location and whenever I needed assistance she was available; quick efficient service. Thats why it saddens me to see she is no longer an employee. When I learned of this, all I could think was, now who is gone keep me upon the changes and benefits now. I really trusted her. I know that the accusations against Ms. Reed are false and done by willful intent. The man claiming the accusations is a well know figure in Ms. Reeds life. She and her family should not be penalized behind the immaturity of one person who is unable to control their feelings .

5 Stars for Police and Fire there coin counting machine .Police and Fire credit union is o.k. with me I also bank at American Heritage Credit union there coin machine os horrible and it steals your money..Police and Fire machine is amazing it pulls your coins upwards on a moving mini type ramp. Its also very accurate, if it rejects your coins just put them back in. Never been to any bank with such a great machine . This machine counts it all came out with way more money than expected Best machine ever .You have to know someone to become a member. I just use it for basic banking needs.

NEVER refinance a vehicle with this credit union! I wish I could rate lower than a 1 star. I have been over 7 weeks trying to get my car registered and they still have yet to release my title! Poor customer service!! You can certainly look forward to never getting a direct answer or a response when dealing with anyone at PFFCU!

Watch the loans here. They are total scumbags and will not notify you when you line of credit loans mature. I just got billed $389 where $361 went to interest and $28 went to principle. I have never been late and my credit score is in the high 800s. Total scumbags.

First and foremost this credit union is a shake down artist there ATM is always broken. When you deposit cash into atm they place a two day hold as if it’s a check. When I call customer service I get 15 different stories no one can help you. I hate calling in to talk about my account because it seems as if I have to go through security clearance. I placed money into the ATM and it short change me I called customer service and reported the issue and was given a credit that day. I looked at my account today and see funds was taken from my account so I called customer service and went though a clearance they informed me they checked the ATM and found no issues with it and took the funds back due to it wasn’t a issue on there end. This was almost a month ago when I reported this issue with the ATM REALLY you just got around to verify a cash deposit so I informed them I wanted a manager to call me because I’m 100% sure what I placed in the ATM. So the next day I get a call and I didn’t hear my phone so someone left me a message saying I’m not getting the funds back because it’s not there error with no number were I can reach her. Credit union are supposed to be working with members not this one there a average Bank.

Been a member my whole life and no one in this bank knows how to issue me a new credit card since I lost mine three years ago. Whenever try to get a new credit card they blame the issue on Visa and when they transfer me via phone, Visa blames PFFCU. The coin machine is off after 3pm which I dont understand. Im assuming it takes more than just plugging it in but Im hoping someone at PFFCU could explain this in a response.

They hire tellers that dont know what theyre doing. Dont ask for your I.D. Accuse you of endorsing someone elses check, not knowing its your check.Then when you get offended you the customer is being unreasonable. Woman manager behind the first booth, got up and yelled at me and said Im being ridiculous. Who says that to a customer?Thinking about taking my money out of this bank. The staff here are very unprofessional. Even if you think the customer is wrong, which I wasnt, you still dont say that to a customer. I go in there everyday and cash or deposit my check, they decided today to act as if I wasnt coming there.Basically treated me like I was a thief trying to cash someone elses check. Very degrading and racist.

This has got to be the best financial institution ever!! When my application for a mortgage took close to two years to finalize....and please note it was never finalized!! I called PFFCU after the suggestion was made by my accountant. My 1st contact was Bettianne Hitchens, who got me the pre-approval and was just as pleasant and reassuring as could be. After a few days, when she went as far in the process as she could, I then came into contact with Kimberly Armbruster, who was awesome with her great and always timely responses. When I did not think it could get any better, Joanne Dessin brought it all home!!! From start to finish, the process took 32 days!!! That less time than Noah spent on the ark!!! These three ladies could rule the world,and judging by their help, they would do great job!! People, got to PPFCU, you will not be sorry!!!!

Just spoke to one of the most disrespectful employees (named Varnen) that broke compliance on multiple occasions and when a manager was asked for he refused to give his name and he purposefully rerouted the call to the Fraud department. I recently visit this branch to make a withdrawal on the ATM outside like I’ve done in the past with no problem, I am originally a member of PFCU but come to this location to use the ATM from time cause their not many PFCU branches plus their no surcharge when I use this ATM. Well on a particular day I want to the location to make a withdraw from the ATM, and as the money was being counted it never came out the dispenser and I was charge like I received the funds. I went into the branch to speak to someone about the situation that just occurred, I approach the information counter and proceeded to explain my situation to the lady that works there about not receiving my money from the ATM outside. She asked me was I a member of that branch and I respond no I’m a member at PFCU but come to this location to use the ATM frequently, she literally told me their not much they can do that I will have to contact my branch and explain to them the situation and put in a dispute about what occurred. I was so frustrated that no one could had help me resolve this situation and the lady never went and got anyone that could help me, I had to literally go to my branch to put in a dispute immediately and wait 10 days later to be reimbursed. Most likely I won’t be using there ATM again after this situation..

I opened an acct for my daughter in 1988 with her and my name only on the acct. I recently called to check on it for my daughter as she is having financial problems, but somehow someone changed the acct without mine or my daughters knowledge. My former mother and father in laws have banked there for years. Not saying they could change anything legally but something obviously was changed without my consent.

This is a great bank, more often than not I see them offering lower rates on credit and higher returns on balances than the big guys. I have to agree they should replace the atm at the chinatown location and it would be nice if they were open later. I work at 17th and JFK, its tough to race over there after 5:30 when I need to make deposits.

Im not sure if they are paying people to write these reviews but this is the WORSE credit union on the planet. They have horrible customer service, their ATM is always broken, and they dont communicate with each other. I never seen a credit union that if you have a 700 credit score they still deny you with no proper explanation. They treat you like they are the only show in town but they are not. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

The criticism towards PPFCU is a tad unfair. Historically, during a time of increasing fees and greater loan restrictions instituted by the many prestigious banks in Philadelphia, PPFCU was one of a few, member based, credit unions offering free services, plus easier access to loans and mortgages.When banks denied mortgage dollars, traveling nearly an hour to PPFCUs sole location was not convenient. However, the personal attention and successful outcome more than compensated for time and travel.As banks continue to merge or disappear, the number and types of credit unions are on the rise. Most have multiple locations. In fact, another credit union is actually closer than PPFCUs local branch.But lesson leaned when it comes to banks, convenience should not be measured in distance but in services offered and actually rendered.Loyalty is a two-way street.
