Called 3 times spread out over a MONTH and no response. Even mentioned the previous calls. Irresponsible. What if someone were really in need, reaching out and asking for help, and then they just NEVER HEARD BACK? Reckless and unacceptable. I will never go here.

Ive been dealing on and off with H&P for years and have had nothing but frustrating experiences. It is impossible to reach anyone by phone, which makes scheduling problems challenging, they force you to keep a credit card on file and have overcharged me in the past. The therapist I went to was sub par and the psychiatrists are just glorified drug dealers. They spend 10 minutes with you, give you a script and youre out the door. They are not at all flexible with financial difficulties and quick to drop clients. I was very unhappy with the services Ive received through them. Totally inaccessible to anyone who isnt rich and mentally healthy.

Ive been struggling for years about whether to seek therapy for several personal reasons and decided to try my luck here. I saw a psychologist, Melissa Hochbaum (sp?), as their psychiatrists werent taking any new patients at the time. My overall experience is that I feel worse after having seen her. I was late to 2 appointments due to an uber drop off error and inclement weather affecting SEPTA, respectively. At that point it seemed like she didnt really care about anything I had to say. We spent an entire appoint talking about her upcoming wedding and my anxiety to which she then cut the appointment 7 minutes before it was actually over and handed me a piece of printer paper to write affirmations on. Right after she did that she said bye, told me to have a nice day and then started to work on her computer. Bear in mind that she had done all of this (1) before I had even gotten my things together so it was awkward at that point and (2) before she had even explained what affirmations were or how I was to do the homework. Since we still technically had time on the clock I sat there for a few seconds because it hadnt hit me that she essentially asked me to leave. I asked how to do the homework and she told me write one positive thing everyday. At this point, nothing had been said about my anxiety or how to manage it. It honestly felt like she thought I was wasting her time.I decided to not take it personally and figured that she might just have another patient to see after me and wanted a few minutes to prepare. I went outside of her office and didnt see anyone else waiting. I waited until my appointment was scheduled to end and then a few minutes passed and no one else ever showed up, so who knows why she asked me to leave so early. Needless to say it was kinda a depressing train ride home. To this day I still feel kind of depressed about the whole experience and am trying to keep myself from writing therapist off all together lol.If youre struggling with depression, anxiety, or anything thats really sensitive to you please dont see her. I never felt so hurt or uncared for bya mental health professional before and this feeling really sucks. She might work out for you if you just need an evaluation for security clearance or court of something like that.
