Came in for a mens cut. Had attempted to schedule it online, but the website wouldnt load for appointments but once I downloaded the app it worked flawlessly. Had my cut with Des, who did a great job. Very professional and quality cut. Gave great feedback and suggestions based on some questions. Great balance between some casual conversation and focusing on cut. Included light massage and full washout. Looks great and is much better than what I have been getting at some chain locations for roughly the same price.

I went to Five Senses for a deep tissue massage and pedicure! My first ever professional massage, I have to say Angela did not disappoint! She was amazing is amazing. Her detail to making you comfortable and feeling completely relaxed is a talent in its own. However, I would not Recommend the pedicure service. Not worth $40 let me tell you! Libby hands down is not pleasant she seems bitter and uptight. The worse pedicure (if you call it that) I ever had.

Five senses is a wonderful place to visit for any type of spa service you might need! The staff is very friendly and kind throughout the entire visit. I felt very safe receiving service from them during the pandemic. They made sure I had the required documentation and they were following all protocols necessary to keep our community safe and healthy. I appreciate the time and effort they clearly put in to make me feel comfortable during such a scary time. The ambiance of the facility is very relaxing and just what I was looking for. I received a massage from Angela, and she was everything I needed for my massage. She was so kind, respectful, and gave a fantastic massage. I definitely recommend Five Senses for any spa needs!

I took a last minute booking with Keri online for the next day, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. I had to fix some dye that I had done in my hair throughout the last year at home, wanted to go closer to my natural color and add in some highlights. I went in expecting to have to bleach my hair and destroy it to get the result I wanted, but Keri immediately came up with a solution that didnt involve any really damaging work. I absolutely love my hair, I feel so confident with it, and she introduced me to a super great heat protectant Ive used consistently since then, as well as a plan to get the end result I want before my wedding in the fall without damaging my hair. Cannot recommend Keri enough!

My last 3 appointments here have been scheduled, confirmed, then Five Senses calls day of and says they must cancel on me. Incredibly bad service, lack of care for their customers. If you do get a service here, it is great, but good luck getting in. Even if you get an appointment, expect it to be cancelled day of.

Despite having Doctors notes on surgical clearance forms exactly stating “provider is clearing the patient for massage therapy” from a practicing orthopedic spine surgeon as well as listing diagnoses with clear indications for massage therapy we were denied service due to the fact that our doctors notes did not state “deemed necessary.”When shown other notes from other clients these notes also did not demonstrate the “deemed necessary” that they stated was required. Staff seemed uneducated and unwilling to work with us and abruptly cancelled us, likely because they are double booking patients. Our appointment was originally scheduled earlier in the day and was moved because they were “double booking because they didn’t think people would have doctors notes” it was very obvious that our notes were orders for massage therapy.Perhaps if they were to educate clients on the specific verbiage they wouldn’t have wasted the time of ours and their own massage therapists.

I called asking for an appointment for a cut. I explained I was having chemo treatments and was losing my hair. I have very thick hair, but it’s probably half thinned out. It’s about 4 inches long, and I’m tired of dealing with it. The first young lady put me on hold. The second lady came on and in a very unfriendly voice said “we have nothing available.” I said thank you and hung up. As a nurse for 20+ years I’m glad I never felt that I wanted to choose the patients I cared for.

First, I should say, Lyssa was great in terms of relaxing service. Me writing a 2-star review has essentially nothing to do with the hair cut itself. Also, I’m not the person that leaves a review on anything, ever. In fact, I’m not sure I ever have written one.I’m writing the review bc I feel pretty ripped off walking out of there. My hair cut began around 3:40, and $47 later, I walked out at 3:59. From the service description, I thought I was signing up for a $25 hair cut. When I went to check out, she said it would be $35 with an added $5 sanitation fee, unless I wanted to buy some of their products.....I told her I thought it was $25, and she said that the hair stylist I received was a “master stylist” and their rate was $35. If that’s the policy, fine. No biggy. Though it would be good to verify that with a prospective customer before they think they’re signing up for a $25 haircut. It’s 10 bucks, not the end of the world. Would just be nice for clarity. The sanitation fee that was dropped on me at the end really kinda bugged me (I get it....it’s only $5, but that’s not the point). And especially the part where they’d credit that fee for purchasing additional products. That policy is disingenuous and lacks efficacy. If the business needs some extra help paying for sanitation equipment in the light of COVID, we get that. We’re all in this together. But making it an either/or to purchase more of your products takes away the efficacy of the policy. It’s annoying and disingenuous. In any case, Lyssa certainly deserved a 20% tip. There was a haircut, shampoo, head/shoulder rub all packed into less than 20 minutes, which says that she was pretty effective in her domain.I spent $47 for 19 min of service for a men’s haircut, when I thought I was going to spend $25-30. Again, we’re talking about $17 here....not the end of the world. I’m writing the review bc I found negative value in the execution of management and policies in regard to the “sanitation fee” and the lack of verification about a master stylist.I might go back someday. Not sure yet.

I went here for the first time in 2019 and Melissa was cutting my hair - she was great and friendly every time I went to get a haircut. The place itself was good at first then quickly went down hill for me. The management and staff, besides Melissa, are very rude and not considerate of their customers. They might want to hire someone to train customer service for everyone including the owner and managers.I referred 4 people to them at the beginning when I was happy with the place. One was for a manicure and pedicure, one for massage, and two men’s haircuts - every single referral I sent there called me after their experience and said how disappointed they were with the rude treatment and the two that went for manicure and pedicure and massage said it was a poor service.Today, I decided to give them another shot. I went in and got a barber cut from Libby. I asked for a simple LOW fade and tiny TRIM off the top. What did I get? A HIGH fade and a cut off the top rather than a trim leaving my head/hair not looking at all like I wanted. Then, when it’s time to pay I find out they’ve changed their cost and it’s substantially more than I ever paid in the past.I’m forever done with this place and will not recommend anyone ever again.Five Senses, you need to check yourselves and put some thought into how you run your business.

I got a beautiful cut and color, but I think you could sit in her chair and tell her to do whatever she wants and it would look amazing. I did not have any issues like other reviewers did with timeliness and lack of professionalism. She took good care of me and my hair. She is very talented, so if you dont have a go-to for hair check her out! I just moved to Peoria and Im happy to have finally found someone I can trust with my hair.

I recently had a pedicure by Tasha at Five Senses. Tasha has helped me with 2 pedicures in the past and her work is top notch. She seems to take great pride in providing an excellent service. The atmosphere was relaxing and the pedicure was fear free (no worrying about what sharp tools were going to slice my calluses). I paid $45 for the elemental pedicure, which I believe is a great price for a pedicure plus a hot towel treatment, walnut exfoliating scrub, and foot massage. My toes look great! I highly recommend Tasha and Five Senses!

I used this salon for my wedding day beauty last fall. I would definitely recommend them for hair and make-up, but will never again go to them for a manicure or pedicure. The chairs for the manicures and pedicures are not very comfortable, and they are not massage chairs like other nail salons. The day after we got our nails done mine started chipping and one nail completely peeled off during dinner (note: I was being *very* careful not to do anything to chip my nails before my wedding).I absolutely loved the girl that did my hair. She really worked with me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted.I also loved the girl that did my make up. She did a very light and natural, but elegant look that was perfect for my wedding day. My only complaint about having my make-up done there was that the make-up station is right in the middle of the front waiting room/sales room. It would have been nice to have been taken to a private room, rather than feel like I was on display for all to see.

I have never been more impressed with a local Spa. From the very sweet staff to the amazing service there was nothing more I could have possibly asked for. Even when I went to go pay I could not believe the cost. I did not pay any more than I would have for my usual place. The services I received left me feeling like a million bucks...but I sure did not have to pay that. I dare you to compare...I truly thought this would be a one time treat for myself and I would not be a regular...but the cost is exactly the same as my normal place. On top of that while processing they didnt just throw a magazine at me they offered a complimentary hand scrub that left me so relaxed. I cant wait to go back!!!!

I went here when I got married last june.To start, the girl who did my hair was incredible. I am a hair stylist and many of my friends and family all complimented my hair. She did exactly what I wanted. The girl that had do my makeup seemed inexperienced and unsure. She made me pick everything out and made few suggestions. The other artist had to help her. She didnt spot treat any blemish or dark spot and just applied a thin layer of concealer so my skin looked far from flawless in photos. I also did not like the powder they sold me, but it got me through the night. The girl who did my sisters hair was very unfriendly and irritated with her when she gave her creative artistic ability to do whatever she wanted...The other makeup artist did a great job on my sisters makeup.

Second time at this salon. First time with this stylist. She is not a personable person. It was our first time she didnt shake my hand or say nice to meet you. She didnt talk at all through the entire thing which made it really awkward.I wanted to go from shoulder length to pixie. I had a picture from Pinterest. It was 360 picture: front, back left and right side. She messed it up. The left side and the back she did good but the right side was terrible. Completely NOT like the picture. She went around my ear instead of going over. I specifically told her that what I liked about that cut was the right side. -_-This is supposed to be a higher end salon and it looks like the stylist cant even take a picture as a model/reference. I spend 50 bucks to walk out unsatisfied.I gave it 2 stars cause I went there once and I was pleased with cut and experience but it was a different stylist. The salon is also really nice.

I recently had the hot stone focus as part of my massage and it was lovely. The hot stones really helped my muscles relax and were a great addition to the aromatherapy massage. It was a nice treat going into the holiday season.Unfortunately there were a few hiccups during my visit: my previous masseuse (Julie) is no longer there and she was missed; they asked about the favorite part of my last massage but clearly did not take that into account when performing this massage; the chocolate fountain was out for service (understandable but disappointing); they initially charged me for the hot stone focus when it was supposed to be a complimentary service (as part of a promotion from when I had my last massage) -- it was successfully resolved but it diminished my experience.

I was at the spa to get full hair color done with my hair. I was really excited for this place because of so much that I have heard about it. Unfortunately I was really disappointed with my visit. Beginning with, right when I walked into the spa the staff didnt seem that friendly at all. They didnt direct us well either as to where to wait and how long will it take. Once I was introduced to the hair stylist, She matched my color and did complete opposite. She changed my whole color level to two shades darker. The ambiance didnt seem that comforting as well. My hair feels rough, really rough. There is color all over my head, you could tell that they didnt do a good job at taking it out. Over all I was unhappy with the service. I wouldnt go there again.

Customer service needs ALOT of work. One one occasion they let me wait > 30 minutes without any explanation for the delay. It was the stylist that called and told me that she had to help another stylist only after I walked out. Why couldn’t she have walked around the corner and told me this when I was there? I probably would have understood and waited. Additionally, they have a policy that if you call to reschedule less than 24 hours from appt., they will charge you for the full service. So, in other words, don’t get sick or held up at work if you plan to obtain your services from this salon. I have spent thousands of dollars at this salon over the years and will not go back. There are other Aveda salons out there.

I dont think the women who provide nail services are trained to work at a spa. Five Senses advertises as a high end spa...but I found it to be more of a well decorated beauty salon. I could have had the same experience at Wal-mart at half the price. It has potential, but they must teach the people who work there how to create a peaceful, quite, relaxing atmosphere--no one wants to hear about the pedicurists nasty break up, hear about ones ex-husband or listen in on how horrible the last client was. Very unprofessional and immature staff.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit leery about getting a massage here, but the poor reviews couldnt be more wrong. I had an hour massage with Julie (Swedish aromatherapy) and it was fantastic! In the last 15 years Ive had a lot of massages with about 10 different masseuses, and she ranks right in the top. Her massage even rivaled a massage I received at a top ranked spa in the Caribbean which was three times as expensive. Julie did a phenomenal job - from the pressure in her hands, to the atmosphere in the room, to allowing me to choose the oil which appealed most to my olfactory sense. Thank you Julie!!At reception I was greeted immediately and warmly, and was ushered into their waiting area for just a few minutes where I was given a beverage of my choice and also got to indulge in their chocolate fountain (a nice touch!). Needless to say I will be visiting this spa again!!

I love this place. Ive moved around a lot and have almost always gone to Aveda salons and spas because I trust that they have a level of expertise above other types of salons and spas. When I was in Atlanta, I went to a Aveda School to get my hair cut once - and I know the training is rigorous. I feel like Five Senses goes even beyond my expectations of an Aveda Salon. When you walk in, you immediately feel relaxed. The salon has a scent that automatically makes you calm. Then the decor is absolutely gorgeous - especially the nail room. You cant help but think how beautiful everything this is in the room from the wall to the comfy pillows. The staff is amazing - they seem to really care to make you feel at home and relaxed. Ive taken advantage of their hair, nail, and massage services. I will try a facial next time because of a recommendation by the lady who did my nails there.

I just want to let all my Peoria friends know the poor experience I just had at Five Senses Spa and Salon. My daughters and I made reservations a month before we would all be home together for the holidays and arrived for our appt to find out that our reservation had been lost. The girls at the desk acknowledged they had a computer glitch and had lost about 4 days worth of reservations without knowing how to contact these people to let them know, and still they had no plan in place to compensate for their error. Unfortunately, they were also fully booked and therefore could not help us. Their only solution was to book another day (however two of us were from out of state), or to come back an hour and a half later to have pedicures (however we had originally booked massages and pedicures). When asked if these would be done at a discount, the manager told us they would not. So, for losing our reservations----we were offered a chance to have half of the services we had made reservations for done at FULL PRICE and later in the day. NO THANKS!!! I will certainly not be giving them my business and would hope you know to do the same!
