My parents were admitted to several hospitals over the last 3 years, and this hospital, by far, was the cleanest, most professional hospital we have been to. He was specifically in the stroke ward, and they were so patient and kind to him, and took the time to know exactly what was happening with him, unlike other hospitals where they dont even bother to pull up his chart or take any type of precautions. Excellent experience here.

My husband arrived at the emergency room with mild chest pains that quickly escalated into a very serious heart attack with 100% blockage. It would not have been survivable if not for the quick actions by the emergency room team and heart surgeons. They rushed him off into surgery and saved his life, and he has recovered completely. We will be forever grateful to Advent Health. Our whole experience there was positive from beginning to end. We felt so much better, knowing we were in good hands. Everyone we dealt with there was wonderful. We are so grateful... Thank you, thank you!

Do not come here for accurate Covid Testing. I scheduled a covid test online, nobody asked if I preferred a Rapid or PCR. I was given the rapid test (negative)- again without letting me know or asking which I preferred. Also didn’t ask if I wanted a flu or strep throat test to rule those out.My symptoms worsened and when I went back two days later they said a PCR test wasn’t “medically necessary” because my rapid test was negative. Also told me the PCR would cost $200- or I could wait 10 days and come back for a free test.Do yourself a favor and go to the free testing site at Barnett park OR Guidewell on Semoran. They ask you exactly what you want and don’t just try and rush you through!

This place is downright awful. Was there back in April experiencing a high viral infection that was affecting some of my organs. The doctor and nurses were very rude, went as far as to yell at me for asking questions about what I had. The nurses just casually walked around talking about their weekend plans while people are seriously sick and in pain. I’m sure this can’t be said about all doctors and nurses working there since it is a large hospital that is a state of the arc facility. However, the doctor and nurses that day were some of the worst people on earth who should NEVER be trusted with people’s lives.

My god. What an absolutely abysmal experience. Had a broken wrist, sat in the ER for hours with no painkiller, no anything. Just holding my broken wrist up in my hand. Then once I was in the emergency room, another series of hours transpired. Finally, after sitting there writhing in pain, an ER nurse finally took pity on me and provided me a pain killed, knowing full well I was sitting there holding a broken wrist. After a multitude of xrays, I finally was returned to the office. The coordination was so awful, the Ortho tech finally came and wrapped my arm, and then the doctor walks in thirty minutes later with the same materials to wrap my arm not knowing it had already been done. Then, I asked them repeatedly to send the prescription to a specific pharmacy, they acknowledged this. I get to the pharmacy, and nopeeeeee, they sent the prescription to the old pharmacy I specifically asked them not to use. At this point, I had no idea where they actually sent the prescription and the CVS pharmacy closed so I had to go a full night without any painkiller with a broken wrist. I woke up the next morning to a text from CVS halfway across town (the one I specifically asked them not to use) informing me that my prescription was read there. Then the billing came. At the hospital I was told by the billing specialist the total bill would be $1,300.00 and I paid $300.00 towards the bill then and there. Then, I get a bill saying the total I owe is approximately $1,400.00, despite being told something completely different, not to mention the extra unknown bill I received from the ER physician. When asked to provide a response as to how the bill miraculously became inflated, no one could provide an answer. Terrible experience.

Worse surgery experience ive ever had in my life. Starting with sitting there in complete pain, because they took 4 months so schedule me. Finally get a day, they call at the last minute to reschedule for a further date. I finally get there and when I do I have to wait another 4-4 1/2 hours until they take me to the operatoration room... Surgery went okay I guess. Wake up in recovery room hurting so bad I couldnt even move I couldnt do nothing by myself. I proceed to tell the surgeon and drs that Im still in severe pain which they do nothing about. I wouldnt recommend going here if you were dying...

For both procedures everyone I encountered was friendly, professional and explained everything to me. Even the Doctors were joking and friendly, very encouraging putting me at ease. What stood out for me was the two nurses Ramon and Ofelia at CIE. Ramon was joking and spoke to me like a brother would. Meanwhile Ofelia made me feel like my Mother seeing about me..😁😁

I took my daughter to the Advent Health ER clinic in Lake Nona. We were checked in by 2 receptionists, we interacted with 1 security guard at the front, we interacted with 1 RN who conducted a quick assessment of my daughter for no more than 5 minutes. She used at most 1 glove, looked at my daughters injury and said she did not recommend any treatment. That was the total extent of our visit, no testing was done, no medicine was given, we did not even use a bandage for her injury. At most my daughter sat in the bed in the hospital room so you could say they needed to clean the sheets and sterilize the room. We were in the building for less than 1 hour and given absolutely no treatment, just 4 employees worth of time for less than 1 hour each. Advent health has subsequently charged us $1,500 and climbing for no care whatsoever. I have attempted to follow up with them to resolve the overcharges and have received no feedback other than “that is how it works”. This is not acceptable and is a disgusting abuse of a perverse medical system where there is no accountability to those of us needing medical care. Their attitude is to utilize our emergency, like our fear for our daughters health and extort us after the fact for every penny they can squeeze for it. They are not forced to proved a statement of care and costs that we can verify. It’s simply, get them through the door and charge whatever we please. This company is an atrocious, despicable institution perpetuating all that is flawed in the American health system. Anyone seeking medical assistance should never consider Advent Health, you would be better off not getting medical attention then going to this place that will exploit your vulnerability for pure profit.

I was admitted up to the transplant floor of Advent health and can genuinely say that I’ve had superb treatment. I’ve had THE most considerate nurses. I feel like in a time of anti-intellectualism as an immune compromised person it’s hard to know if people will appreciate the urgency of your needs, but they never fell short. My nurses and the staff that made this possible, namely, Andrew, David-Paul, and Nickesha went out of their way to not only provide treatment, but compassion and comfort. I love that they were drawn to this profession because they have all the skill of proper bedside manner in addition to always being on the ball; they saw me as a “whole” person and gave me “whole” care. It takes a special kind of person to work in the house where sick people live and spirits are always down.

Don’t go here they will charged you excessively for unneeded treatment that you will have to pay later. My symptoms were stomach pain and vomits. I think it was something that I ate. I went to Advent Health urgent care but it was full so they send me to another one near. Once there, the receptionist told me that I needed to go to Advent Health Hospital which was also near to receive treatment. By that time, my pain was gone but I needed Rehydration. The first thing that I ask was how much they were going to charge me but couldn’t say until the doctor saw me. They never explain what they were doing to me or about the charges. When the doctor ask about my pain I say a 3. For being there less than 4 hours they charged me $17,640.00 and never did the Covid -19 testing. Beware!

Please note that the pediatric surgeons did an amazing job on my sons surgery. The nurses did a great job caring for my son after the surgery. However, I am highly displeased with the way the parents are catered to during the whole process. Parents are not provided with meals during the stay which forces you so spend a ton of money in the overpriced cafeteria downstairs or leave your child at the hospital to get food elsewhere. They provide a parent bar which is almost always empty besides some sugar free cereal and milk. To my dismay do not even provide us with a cup of coffee. They provide one couch for one parent to sleep so the other is just left to sit in a chair the whole night. We asked if they had another chair that possibly reclines or something the other parent could sleep on and they could not remedy the situation. The door to the bathroom was broken and the toilet paper dispenser was broken as well. My advise is to choose a different hospital if your child has to stay for a few days. To top it all off we used valet parking and went to the car the next day after our sons surgery to grab an item and found our back window slightly down and the doors locked with the keys sitting in the cup holder, luckily it didnt rain and we knew the code to open the door and retrieve the keys..very sketchy. We are so exhausted and ready to go home!

They say they are accessible but deliberately give you wrong phone numbers. They move the patient and change the care without explanation. They break your cell phone, lose your hearing aids and misplace your ID and credit card. No one takes responsibility for anything. They deliberately use their Byzantine bureaucracy to confuse the patient and family. They offer no clarity on progress or next steps for release. You call the # they give you and it rings 15* minutes without answering and then it disconnects you. If this is a Christian faith based outfit - that is a lie straight outta the pit of Hell. One was in training but them working as a team made it hard to know which one was in training. These two ladies came in to check my vitals but they also talked to me as if they knew me. They made me laugh and always popped in to check on me. Yavel was my night Nurse. He was full of energy and on top of his game. His work habits are on point, never skips a beat. His smile is warming and his voice is soothing. David was my night Tech. Although he was not a man of many words, positive energy was all around him. He checked on me as needed. Always checking to see if I needed anything always with a smile. Awesome group of people taking care of me. Thank you Guys for a job well done. A star for each of you.

Had to call this hospital 3 times yesterday due to their lack of care towards my fiancé. It took them over 5 hours to fulfil a request for simple pain medication, over 4 hours this morning to get Apple Juice, and over 50 minutes yesterday to fulfil a request for ice; in fact the ice issue was fixed by the lady at the front desk within 2 minutes of the second request...what the nurse was doing in that timeframe is completely unknown. It should not take anywhere near this long to fulfil these simple and basic requests; especially when someone is in the hospital for a medical emergency. On top of this, when she finally got pain medication (5 hours later) it wasnt in a form that she could ingest. She had nausea and had not been able to keep anything down. So, of course, she immediately throws up the medication and it does nothing. Then she gets denied any additional pain medication after this. Apparently this hospital doesnt have liquid forms of pain medication? I saw them use it in the ER, when we were there, so the ER has access to things the hospital doesnt? Im not a RN or a DR, but that seems off to me.After having to call multiple times yesterday, just to ensure that the staff here would do the bare minimum, I was told all 3 times that I would receive a call back when the issue was resolved. Im not sure if they were too embarrassed to call or what, but Im still waiting on a call back from 3pm yesterday. They obviously didnt fix any issues either though, as the care continued to be extremely sub-par. So much so, that my fiancé had to AMA herself out of the hospital; as she felt like she was being severely neglected and would be more comfortable just dying at home than staying to receive any sort of treatment at this horrible facility. In addition to this, different nurses and Drs told her different things. Tuesday night, when she was omitted, she was given a diagnosis of an issue that required immediate medical attention (surgery). Last night, a different nurse confirmed the diagnosis. Today, when the Dr arrived to see her, he saw absolutely nothing (how?) and was going to discharge her and schedule a follow up in a week. My fiancé cannot get up or walk, and is in severe pain. How is she supposed be home for a week when she cant eat, drink, or take any meds orally? I really think that they were discriminating against her based on her insurance (Medicaid). They just wanted to keep here there, uncared for, for as long as they could until the insurance ran up. At that point, since theres no $$$ to be made, they just stop caring. Well, stop caring is maybe the wrong turn of phrase, as it seems they never cared at all; based on the treatment she received.TLDR: The staff doesnt care about the patients. You are better off dying at home surrounded by loved ones, or getting your surgery done in a back alley. At least the back alley person will most likely give you pain meds, something to drink, and ice.

The care received from Advent is superior. The communication between Nursing staff and between different floors when a loved has been moved is less than desirable. There needs to be one registration when a person is admitted to gather information needed. Not 2nd day and 5 phone calls within 30 minutes from 5 different people. Nurses need to be trained on how to address the family as well as the patient. When it should say on a chart notify daughter of any testing than they should be notified not find out about it a day later then when it was ordered and having the procedure being done when they get to hospital. Let me just start by saying that my negative review is in no way geared towards their care , it specifically refers to recruiting and how applicants are treated.I had applied for a position at the Orlando location and received a call right away from Alexander Hudson to set up an interview with leaders of that team. I accepted and was excited at the possibility of being able to finally become a part of the AdventHealth mission. However, neither participant listed for the Microsoft Teams meeting were in attendance. I sat there for 30 minutes waiting for my interview, which never began. I called the recruiter to follow up and to inform him that maybe there were issues with the meeting but I NEVER heard back from him. I left 2 voicemails following this ghost interview and an email but no response at all. Frustrated with the situation, I decided to call in to HR to see if someone could be of some assistance and ended up on an employee line with a woman named Sharon. She claimed she was trying to be as empathetic as possible although it was clear she wasnt fully listening and she proceeded to tell me this happens all the time because we have so many applicants. A whole week later, I finally see the applicant portal has been updated to let me know that I am no longer being considered for the role.I completely understand if another candidate was selected and they decided not to move forward with me, as thats just what happens. What I cannot understand is how this happens all the time simply due to the volume of applicants. Seeing as I worked with a specific recruiter, the least he couldve done was let me know that the meeting/interview would be cancelled because another candidate was being selected, instead of leaving me hanging. I find it to be completely discouraging to aspiring applicants and completely unprofessional. If this had been an in person interview and the applicant was the only participant to show, I would think that reflects poorly on the recruiting team. Applicants time is just as important as that of the recruiters and there is no justification to have someone set up for an interview that was never to happen or to simply not attend a scheduled interview without providing some kind of notice.

After I gave birth one of the nurses went out of her way to make me a sex on the beach w no alcohol, its made with orange juice ginger ale and cranberry juice. So freaking good! Highly recommended!!

If any of you guys need an operation, this place will be sure to take of you... Within 7-10 business days, my wife needed an operation for her gall bladder and all they did was keep her there for a week, jack her up in morphine and discharge her because she was smiling, literally 2 hours at home she felt excruciating pain and we had to go to Orlando health. Screw this hospital and everyone in it!!

Ive been to this location several times. Dr Acccola did my valve replacement in 2019. Dr Mondal(the best Cardiologist/Electrophysiologist EVER) has treated me here several times for this stubborn Afib. I was just here on May 27, I cant remember the name of the unit(its like the transition from the ER). But who I do remember is Bennett(RN) she was AHmazing!! There were a few others too but I cant remember their names. I was prepping for my 6th cardioversion and I almost fainted in the shower. Bennett along with the other nurses were excellent in the care for me. My only complaint is the bathrooms in the patient rooms SERIOUSLY need an overhaul.

Went two nights back to back, that says enough, but on top of being very dismissive, I was very upset with the efforts given between super bowl night and the following night. The second night started with some of the same dismissive behavior by the nurse taking my blood pressure. Even if you (nurse) feel nothing is wrong with me, thats your opinion, but you shouldnt make a patient feel like theyre bothering you. The fact that the initial nurse I spoke with before the blood pressure, showed some type of compassion, lets me know what I saw from the second nurse was unacceptable. Also nurse( blood pressure) if you dont like your job you should quit. I understand working 3rd shift may even be a strain on some, but as I stated before not my problem, you should quit sir. I know that nothing will be done about this (maybe a Google response if Im lucky), but I know any corrective action will not take place. Thats fine as well because I rather die than getting back to that place. Have a nice day! One star is to much to give here by the way.

If I could rate this place a -5 I would. When my dad was alive, he stayed her for a few days while he was terminally ill. During his stay someone that worked there stole his wallet. He had everything in there! Cash, cards, ID! Somehow after me and sisters raised hell and stated we were going to the media about this, the wallet mysteriously appeared, but no cash! How heartless are these disgusting people to steal from a terminal sick and dying man. Dont take your family here unless you want to be robbed!

How come other hospitals teach you how to wash your hands, put on gown, and mask to go visit your family member thats positive for covid however adventhealth does not? Theres nothing worst than having your love one in the hospital positive Covid, in critical care, in the ICU bed and not being able to even see them through a glass door, not being able to video chat with them except for 15 to 30 mins per day? Research shows having family and friends help with the healing process so why is that being taken away instead of figuring out a safe way to involve them in the care?

My son with Autism was pre-scheduled for a 23 hour EEG. Received a call from Janet the scheduler at approximately 12:30pm; stated the bed was ready for my son. Arrived and checked in around 1:30. Checked in the Walt Disney Pavilion around 1:40. We were told to wait for someone to call for us. The receptionist called around 1:50 to see what was going on. Then again at 2:10. This time I spoke with to a female who was rude. At the same time I had my sons epilepsy office on the phone. I explained to them what was going on and how upset I was. Receptionist told me that someone would call me back; they never did as of this email. I called the scheduling office to cancel the bed. That rep acted as if it was her child sitting in the lobby of a hospital during a pandemic with underlying health conditions for over 30 minutes.Since March my family and I have been in self isolation due to my age and my sons health conditions. Doctors appointments and grocery shopping only. We have eaten carry out maybe 5 times since March. Thats how serious we are taking this pandemic. I was hesitant about my son doing the overnight EEG because hospitals are notorious breeding grounds for germs, bacteria, and viruses. Intuition never lies. As trained medical personnel, disregarding the health and safety of patients during a pandemic is reckless and insensitive. Moreover, it does not reflect AdventHealths mission and ministry of Christ. If they cant coordinate patients stays and visits, how can they be trusted to administer reliable testing, care, and medications to their patients? I dont feel confident in AdventHealths ability to carry out its medical mission. I gave 2 stars and not a negative 2 stars because back in July my son had a MRI. The receptionist, nurses, anesthesiologist, and radiologist were very gracious, professional, and assured me that my son was going to receive the best care.

I was in the hospital here at Advent for 10 days. This is the secong Advent hospital I have been to. I came to this one by choice because my first experiance was very good. Overall for a hospital it is the best I have ever been to. Having many different surgeries there have been many stays. Advent by far has been the best. It is not perfect, as any place of work you have a few not so good ones.

Advent Health employees at Amway Center needs more training in diagnosing covid19 test, they also have faulty products and equipment. Or maybe they just dont know what they are doing. Day 1 you are Negative, Day 2 you are Positive, Day 3 you go to another testing sight for a 2nd opinion and get a Negative result. Its day 8 and I have no covid19 symptoms. When they mess up on their diagnose it interferes with your other employment your finances and your entire household. Dont let Advent Health treat you for an illness they diagnose get a second opinion. They will put your life and health at risk. Amway Center did nothing to investigate why so many employees were tested Positive and was Negative. That shows me that they dont care about their employees.

I cant express enough my gratitude for this hospitals staff from the ER, Cardiology, CT and 2nd floor Nurses (especially RN Jila). The professionalism, thoroughness and kindness that each person I dealt with displayed was beyond impressive. Terrible place! I used their web inquiry to find the appropriate doctor. I was recommended to Angel Rios Gonzalez. I described the exact situation I was having. Take time off work drive there only to be told he cannot help. He recommended a treatment said they were getting the meds and someone would call. It has been almost 2 months and I have not heard a word. On top of this they charged my insurance nearly $700 bucks for nothing and they charged me $89. All that for nothing! Absolute waste of my time! Luckily I found a doctor to fix me at Cleveland Clinic.

I want to express my thanks and gratitude for the midwives/nurses/staff in L&D for making the delivery of my first child as comfortable as possible. Every person I came in contact with at this hospital were so nice, accommodating and caring about my stay. Last week, I had heart valve replacement surgery at this hospital. I have already thanked the doctors and his staff, but I felt it was my duty to thank the nurses in the ICU for their help and my care. I want to especially thank Hailey, Christina, and Izzy for their courtesy, knowledge, and professionalism. I also want to thank all of the other nurses in this unit as well. The service was horrible. I would call 3 time for a nurse to come in and they wouldn’t. They left me in a room for 2 days with no fluids but gave me medicine to have me go to the bathroom every 20 minutes (I was getting dehydrated). They discharged me and sent me home with pain meds that didn’t work. Before discharging me they asked me if I wanted to leave and I would let them know that I want to stay because I am still in pain.I had to go to another hospital to find out I had pneumonia after being discharged. When shift change happened at 7 I didn’t even know who my nurse was until 9 when I was crying for pain medicine and they finally came in after calling for a while. I felt abandoned and lost.

I went to the Emergency room today 9/14/20 at AdventHealth for obdominal pain and other symptoms and a few other things i was sick with, within mins of getting there the nurse brought me to a room, got me changed in a hospital gown, everyone there was so polite and nice. The doctor came into the room 10mins or less and exam me, i had to do a few tests, the doctor found out why i was in so much pain and discomfort and treated me with the right medications right away, i was hungry because i felt so sick i didnt ate for days and the nurse got me gingerale and a sandwich which i thought was so nice of her. Dr Paul Obrien is such a very nice, professional, intelligent, patient, understandable doctor, he listen to what i had to say without speaking over me, he made me felt at ease and comfortable, he spoke to me with care. Im feeling much better. The nurse that tend to me, i forgot her name but she was so nice as well, im sure they will know who she is, both she and Dr Paul Obrien are AWESOME, great hospital. I gave birth to my daughter at this hospital 5 years ago. Everything was good except when one of the doctors came with his group of interns or students to tell me that my daughter could have Down syndrome because of the shape of her eyes. Besides him and all his crew we also had the photographer in the room (service offered by hospital). I don’t think that conversation should’ve happened in front of so many unknown people... I was devastated and could not say any words I could only cry. My daughter’s pediatrician did not see any signs of that condition and after taking a DNA test she tested negative.
