This hospital is amazing. I’m about to deliver my third baby here and could not be more pleased. The lobby is beautiful and huge! The cafeteria has great food (that doesn’t taste like hospital food)! The nurses are great and my birthing experiences are always unforgettable. They have up to date technology and beautiful rooms. Very bright rooms and spacious. I highly recommend this hospital!

I love this hospital!!! I was on high risk floor for a week before having a c-section. I was treated so kindly by all the nurses and doctors. I was so scared to have a c-section and the staff were not only understanding but they actively helped me get through my fears. They treated me dignity and respect, and brought my daughter safely into the world. After my surgery the nurses were wonderful at managing my pain and helped me with breastfeeding. They took great care of my daughter. I am so happy I chose to have my daughter here.

I came here to have surgery and was told to come 3 hours early i did got told to walk to the other hospital then got send before asking me what I’m here for. It’s just too much here no one knows Anything. This is the worst hospital ever I’m so disappointed so disgusted.

I don’t know why this place got so many bad reviews. I feel like or I was reeeeeally lucky with my experience, or some girls got wrong team. I delivered my first baby here not while ago. My experience was amazing, I got a wonderful team of nurses who were taking a good care of me, support me on every step of this not easy journey, making a relaxing and funny atmosphere. Couldn’t wish for a better nurses and doctors! Absolutely loved it. Also got all needed supplies for postpartum recovery, what was tough. They also was taking a great care of my son. Only one thing I didn’t really like in hospital - food :)

Had a really bad experience at this hospital when I was 7 months pregnant. I was extremely sick and they had me waiting in the emergency lounge for over two hours then after asking multiple times what is happening they decided to send me to triage. In triage they didn’t do anything but monitor the baby. No medication was given for cough, vomiting, headaches, etc. The nurses very rude and especially the front desk lady from triage. The doctor that saw me said I didn’t have anything when clearly I had something bc I felt awful. Anyways after waiting for sooo long we went home. Never again going here and I highly do not recommend this place!

I was scheduled to be induced and arrived to my appointment. Getting checked in and the process started took several hours. I went into active labor in the middle of the night which had to have been somewhat expected considering my appointment was at 7:30 pm. The anesthesiologist originally got there quickly after approved for the epidural but it slipped because all the meds started going straight to my right leg. The meds started wearing off everywhere else and an anesthesiologist was requested to come fix it. 2 1/2 hours went by with no one coming to check on me. In this time My contractions became one on top of the other and was obviously extremely painful. I was afraid I was going to have this baby by myself with just my husband there in a women’s hospital where all they do is deliver babies! Finally my husband went and demanded that someone come check on me. I was fully dilated and ready to push. Our nurse said she was afraid to come check on me because she knew I was in so much pain! Unacceptable. It wasn’t until that time that an anesthesiologist came in and fixed it. The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 1 is because the midwives and after care nurses were absolutely amazing and took great care of me and our baby.

I chose this hospital to deliver my first baby because my ob recommended them, and I had a great experience. Every staff that was involved in delivering my baby deserves a raise. Tameka did a fantastic job explaining the procedure before getting started. Sandy is an angel she made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole night. Samie did great in helping me get comfortable to receive the epidural. Julia the midwife is another angel that I am grateful to have in the delivery room: she coached me through every contraction, she let me take small breaks to prepare for the next push. Julia listened to my requests and let my husband cut the umbilical cord even showed him where to cut. I was given skin to skin contact which I enjoyed. Also, my baby stayed in the room with me the whole time even when switching rooms and floors. The young nurses in the 7th floor Jezlyn and Emelia did an awesome job checking on the baby and me. They also shared information with me regarding the steps for discharge depending on our wellbeing (baby and me). Doctor Crofoot did an excellent job explaining my situation before discharging me I had a little bit of low iron due to blood loss. The pediatrician was nice she handled my baby with care and explained why she didn’t want to perform a circumcision on my son. Overall, the service at this hospital is great, the facility is clean still looks brand new, the food is alright, and the hospital allows 2 visitors which is great because my mother wanted to be there for the birth of the baby along with my husband. I would choose this hospital again to deliver future babies.

Horrible bedside manner. My sister literally just had her baby yesterday and the nurses were rude and treated not only her guests But her and her baby badly. They were being rough with the baby as well as snippy with her and her guest. One nurse kept rolling her eyes whenever she was asked a question. This is supposed to be the most exciting time of her life as this is her first time giving birth. She’s stressed out and scared to say something. I will be reporting them to the board of ethics once my sister and baby is released. I have names but I won’t let it be known until afterwards.

Horrible, I delivered my baby here the nurses during delivery treated me horribly with the exception of one but sadly she wasn’t there when I actually delivered. The baby was coming and doctor wasn’t there yet so the nurses force closed my legs knowing I had the epidural and couldn’t open them leaving my baby without oxygen and me in pain because his head was already out it was difficult to get him to breathe afterwards he was extremely purple thankfully he was okay. After everything was done I asked for skin to skin right away and to skip testing until after to have golden hour and they didn’t allow me even though it’s promoted during the hospital tour. I reported them to the hospital and was told that they would take care of it and update me in two days it’s been over three weeks and I haven’t heard a word. I never leave reviews but I’m doing this to warn new moms about this hospital.

Even the Dr that came in for the consult was great. I would expect the rooms be more upgraded. You can have as many people as you want in the room while giving birth. The security here is top notch for babies. They will do everything in the room and they support unmedicated births. Food is disgusting I’ll starve before I eat it. I am beyond thankful that my birth experience was at Florida Hospital for Women (Advent Health). It was not planned and I delivered outside of my practice, but it was the best last minute decision for us. Three days before I went into labor we went on a tour (1 on 1) with Heather Collins. From the moment my husband and I met her we knew this was going to be our hospital. She was the reason we changed hospitals and helped answer tons of questions and tie up so many loose ends. Not only did she help before we delivered, but she made a special visit once we had our baby girl, AND she followed-up after and helped me get postpartum care scheduled and approved.Because I delivered outside of my practice (Women’s Care FL, OB&GYN Specialists); I wouldn’t be accepted there for postpartum care. No practice will take you if you deliver at a hospital outside of their network. Heather gained special approval for me to be seen by my midwife (Sabely N. who was by the way - THE BEST ;-). She was a Godsend, I couldn’t have planned a better birth and it was all thanks to her and her team. The atmosphere there was very calming, orderly, and clean. The staff was over the top FRIENDLY, KIND, and CARING. Everyone that cared for us was ‘the best’ - we found ourselves saying that over and over again. We encountered approximately 20 different team members and every single one, from housekeeping, to room service (meal scheduler), to our nurses and midwife to the security and valet; Every point of interaction exceeded our expectations. The L&D room was huge, beautiful and felt like home, not a hospital. The recovery rooms were also very nice. Both rooms had smart TV’s which was really convenient.I wish I could remember everyone’s name! I’d like to send a special thanks to:Heather Collins, Birth Care CoordinatorSabely Nichols, ARNP (midwife)Janika T., RNShelly H., RNDarlene S., RNChristyn L., RNCindy A., RNElizabeth T., RNLiz with Lactation ( I wouldn’t have been able to breastfeed without her)Rose - environmental services/housekeeping

When you tour this hospital they brag that they do VBACs, and thats why some women come here, but dont try to go there for a VBAC, they wont even give you a chance. They will keep you NPO and on a hard gurney in triage, as if it were a sort purgatory, for 10 or 12 hours while they railroad you and brow beat you into having a C-Section. They stop just short of waterboarding you to get you to agree to give birth by surgery. They refuse to admit you, or allow you a comfortable chair, comfortable bed, nursing care, or even an ice chip to chew until you agree to have your baby by c-section, and for hours they told us with great hyperbole about every possible complication in every delivery theyve ever heard of, and they presented surgical delivery as an option without any drawbacks or risks. They further stated that they would not admit us for any other purpose than a c-section, and would not even allow a trial of labor, even though no pathological conditions existed at the time, they refused to follow ACOG guidelines for standards of care. They fat shame you and say you cant VBAC because you gained too much weight, but they fail to mention that gaining too much weight also increases your risks during surgery. Indeed, they entirely understate and negate all the risks to mother and baby of surgery, not to mention the recovery, which can never actually be complete, since there are always adhesions. They absolutely and deliberately misinformed us about the rate of uterine rupture in VBACs quoting 25%, when really the rate is more like 0.5%. It was horrific and they rain on your parade the moment you come through the door, instead of helping you with contractions they say, Oh, see how much that hurts? You dont want to do that for hours, do you? You could have a section and get it over with! They tell you that you are destined to fail, just at the moment they should be telling you that you are destined to succeed, and they wont stop telling you that, or let you have any water or comfort, until you agree to let them cut you open and remove your abdominal organs, because they seem to think thats risk free. Its risk free for them, it earns them more money, its easier for them, and if they ever get called into court they can say they pulled out every trick they had in the bag to help you so the outcome is not their fault. The recovery si so much easier for them too, it doesnt hurt them a bit, and works with their schedule. Lots of pressure to sell the jolly c-section, the doctor wants me to know this is why babies die in Ethiopia, because they dont have so many c-sections. Yes, he actually brought up Ethiopia, as if it were relevant. This was mansplaining at its finest. When I informed him that the maternal/infant mortality rate has been on the rise in America correlating with the rise in the rate of c-sections, he says nothing and walks out of the room. I dont think he likes patients or families who are informed consumers. Their c-section rate is merely an indicator of their lack of confidence in their skills. IMHO This place could close their doors tomorrow and theyd not be missed. Women in Central Florida would be better off. And did I mention how much fun it is parking at this hospital? You literally wait hours for the valet. #BigFail

Plus I have to deal with this horrible fake nurse Named Taheia my goodness this woman shouldnt be working here with pregnant women, she has a bad attitude and if your having contractions Pray for Your Life.... I was in pain for about 2 hrs and this inhumane person kept coming in saying I will give you pain meds as your waiting for epidural injection which was BS she came there to check my blood pressure and other things other than giving me my pain meds to lower the pain, I had to tell other nurses to give it to me, Because the Cold Hearted B**** was Enjoying my Sufferment, my husband had to get a different nurse to do her job.... Other Nurses were professional to the beginning and end. and the Doctor ohh my goodness I couldnt ask for a Excellent doctor her name is Dr.Julia Beth T. She was Excellent and Professional and Understanding and Caring like the other Staff.... After delivery I had this disrespectful pediatrician doctor that came in the Morning to opening my shutters(blinds) without saying hi or introducing himself nothing.. we was sleeping because of people coming in to wake us up for things... but his name is Jason Anthony Fx,Damn Another A****** to put up with in the morning. At 35 weeks pregnant I originally came here to do a VBAC consult after 10years. I came in and met a Dr. Lense (super great guy) very gentle, explained everything fully, discussed options and success rates of VBAC with me. Very optimistic in this procedure. Very patient oriented. Made me fee super welcome and I was given a tour by a gal named Elizabeth- RN, she was great and the facility is beautiful! At 39 weeks I returned with pain and discomfort to be checked to see if I was in labor.During this visit I was taken back immediately which was great and the nurses were polite. After about 10minutes a Dr. Stacey (something, dont remember her last name) came in to do a vaginal exam. I informed her the midwife I see told me the cervix is further back than normal and that I was 4cm dilated last week. She went to do the examination and hurt me so bad I balled my eyes out! Ive had 100s of exams from men and women in the past 10-12years and NEVER have I ever experienced this much pain, not pressure and discomfort like normally expected but serious pain! I dont want to be vulgar but she missed upon entrance of the exam .....and then twisted and shoved vigorously the entire time with stating she couldnt reach it... HORRIBLE!!!(But my midwifes measured me on the inside at 4cm last Tuesday when she was stripping me. And measures every week all the girls there... no one ever hurts me like this and can always reach thecervix. Ive had students at the doctors office do a wayyyy better job.)When shift changed I then got a new Dr. Yessin Ashmaway... great news? NOOOO! This guy was worse. He pretty much argued with me the entire time about the VBAC. He wanted me to sign the papers for c section again and told me ALL the risks with the VBAC. Its like he already had it set in his mind what he wanted to do. (Now before I hear: well hes the doctor he knows best) I want to point out the fact that he hadnt even asked about my c section 10years ago...he didnt ask us anything about what we wanted, our birth wishes, why we wanted that... or how we felt. He was committed to doing what he was regardless of how we felt.We I didnt want to sign the c section form the entire visit from there I was treated like I was just a non compliant patient... when he stepped out I told the nurse that during my last c section my bladder was damaged during the surgery. She told me that I should tell the doctor that. She left to inform him at that point of what I told her.About 10minutes later the Dr came back in with an irrateted look in his face sits down looks and me and says so whats the deal with the bladder, tell me about thatI explained to him what had happened and what I deal with everyday in regards to that surgery 10years ago... and his response to me: well natural delivery will cause more damage to your bladder!!WHAT??!!! Are you kidding me.. its like at this point you are literally going to tell me anything to do a c section ...bags were in hand at this point. I will NOT deliver at this hospital regardless of how clean and pretty the facility is!You do not care about the patients wishes... just another Dr pushing for something easier to make more money for himself with no regards to the parents of the baby.
