Nurses and staff were great. Food was decent. Doctors will explain things but sometimes you dont remember what was said so I suggested a solution. But anyway I was treated with respect and a person. I wasnt just another patient. Just watch out for the beeping beds. They basically keep you in laying down position. You cant just place all weight in one spot or alarm will go off. Did not enjoy that part. Had to call nurse to go to bathroom. Finally got them to agree to turn off bed alarm as long as I promised not to get off bed. I kept my promise and was able to sit comfortably in my bed rest of stay.

My mother is receiving excellent inpatient surgical follow up care at this hospital. Due to her special circumstances I was able to stay with her overnight and have witnessed these positive encounters firsthand. Every single person we have encountered has been kind, concerned, and sincere from security to cafeteria to professional medical staff at every level. She has enjoyed delicious meals and has been cared for in the way I would hope someone would care for my beloved mom. I have been amazed by the consistency of utterly amazing, respectful patient care and will specifically request this hospital if surgical care is needed again in future.

If you value quality care stay FAR away from this place. They left me lying in a hallway in pain strapped to a stiff board for HOURS after arriving in an ambulance. They did scans and sent me home saying I was fine. After several weeks in pain, I get more scans and my own doctors find multiple fractures and damage. This hospital does not do what they need to do, no matter how simple the task. Not one of my open wounds were cleaned or covered. Please learn from my mistake and avoid this place. Now Im having to play catch up, but Im happy to be getting quality care elsewhere.

Please choose another hospital for your loved ones. I will say some of the nurses in the ICU were nice and truly cared, however some just do not care and it shows. I can go on an on about the details of neglect my mother endured from this hospital, but for now, I will just list the most horrifying example. My mom paged the hospital nurse one night because she could not breath, the nurse showed up over an hour later... My mother could not breath and did not get help for over an hour, let that sink in. Unfortunately, she died a few days later.

The ER doctors, as well as Dr Nadjafi, the surgeon, Dr.Knight, anesthesiologist, David, a nurse in ER. Miami Vice, the cool guy that got us in quickly. A wonderful woman ( I wish I could remember her name) outside the surgery department who gave me a warm blanket. I arrived in shorts from a water park and didn’t know I would be there for 2 days ! Oh wow…we are Canadian Citizens vacationing in Florida and my husband was rushed to this hospital for dehydration. I, of course, showed up there to be with him while they ran tests to ensure there were no other health issues. While waiting in the room with my husband, I overhead the medical staff on duty poke fun at other sick patients on the ward. When the nurse, Paul came to take my husbands blood, he didn’t even wear rubber gloves and was acting very inappropriately. We can only imagine how much this will all cost once we receive the bill. I am thankful that we have health benefits that cover travel emergencies. I have also gained a whole new appreciation for our Canadian healthcare system and will never take it for granted again. Never in a Canadian hospital, would you find medical staff speaking of patients in that manner. It was unprofessional, period.

I use to go here for top tier care but the doctor insulted me and my child. The PA told me I should go to Arnold Palmer if I want proper care for my 13 year old son. The doctor told me I wouldnt understand medical terms so she used elementary words that wasnt clear. Being that my sister is a manager there and my best friend a nurse practitioner I definitely comprehend the term pneumonia... I ask to view the x-ray she told me she dont know if thats possible and walk away from me and told her staff she refuses to speak to me. I was a very kind and concerned mother. Dr. Kendra L. Amico will never have the opportunity to treat my son again. So sad that during a time like this I had to deal with someone with zero empathy and terrible bedside manners. Btw there was only 10 percent of the parking lot full so rushing to the next room was not the issue. There was no wait. Her assistant actually apologized to me for having to be treated so poorly since she was a mother also. I would like to think it wasnt because Im black but the extreme poor treatment and insults lead me to believe that was the case.

My dad just came out of the ER yesterday 9/1/21 and needed to do a follow up care today 9/2/21. The referral doctor they gave him did not accept his insurance and his expected to pay up to $400 depending on what this doctor is going to do. I called the ER today and was just passed on to the next department and transferred to another department to only leave a message. When checking on his insurance they are so many ENT doctors in his network that would accept his insurance. What’s frustrating is when you call each of the in network doctor they can’t fit him in 2 weeks out unless they have a referral if not he will be treated as a normal patient scheduling an appointment. Why would you guys refer my dad to a specialist who doesn’t accept his insurance? Or is this a normal practice (screw the in network doctor and give him whoever we have agreements with)? I’m sure the first thing you guys ask when a person goes in the ER “DO THEY HAVE INSURANCE?” Don’t worry I know you guys care about money over people but when you guys paid the least thing you guys can do is do it right.

I want to acknowledge a wonderful young man by the name of Adrian Jason Magsakay! I had badly injured my foot to an unknown extent and drove myself to the emergency room. Upon arrival, I honestly was confused by the pick-up/drop off sign and assumed I couldn’t park in the lot. I parked in the visitors garage and attempted to walk to the emergency room from there. A Security Guard passed me as I was limping through the garage with a wrap on my foot and a cane to support me. This caring man was on his way out to his car and saw me struggling through the garage. Adrian saw my struggle and immediately approached me and asked if there was anything he could help me with. I told him where I was trying to go and about my concerning injury. Without hesitation he offered his services, made sure I was in a comfortable position to await his return as he swiftly attempted to retrieve a wheelchair. He literally ran to the main entrance from the garage to alert Security of my mistake and attempted to provide me an escort. He was informed to have me repark my vehicle in the lot I mistakenly thought I couldn’t park at initially. Adrian then escorted me to my vehicle on foot, made sure I made it there safe and instructed me to the proper route. I can’t explain how appreciative I am of his gesture. He made this painful ordeal positive by anticipating my needs and going above and beyond to help me. THANK YOU ADRIAN! Thank you Orlando Health for having him on board to ensure the health and safety of so many others that inevitably follow me.UPDATE: Confirmed fracture🤕

These “charge nurses” are rude and have absolutely no bed side manner. They seem to not care of putting COVID patients next to people without COVID, and we wonder why it’s spreading. It’s spreading due to unprofessional hospitals like this! People coughing without a mask on everywhere & no one says anything about the mask policy. They are supposed to wear a mask until they get to a room, don’t expect not to be subject to COVID when going here. They don’t even sanitize after customers get up from seats they were coughing all over seriously unprofessional.

The girl who swabbed me for COVID went UP (not BACK like she’s supposed to) so deep, I started leaking a clear fluid (probably spinal fluid) that wouldn’t stop for hours. She did not care about my comfort and seemed completely emotionless about the pain she caused me, didn’t even reply to me when I tried to make jokes about it, just stone cold silent. The doctor finally came in hours later after I had fallen asleep and prescribed me a cough medication that does not treat bronchitis (this was confirmed later to me by a different doctor in a different hospital). Nothing else was prescribed and I felt tossed to the side.

Our fantastic health care workers. My entire family ended up in the Dr Phillips ER this week, on different days and times, with Covid. We are local. We all had very different and very similar experiences. Our symptoms were allDifferent , so treatment was different, etc.Our wait times were very different. One of us waited almost 18 hours in the ER for a room on the Covid floor. (The down side was that her little room didn’t seem to have good ac. Hospital maintenance needs to check on that. )The other two arrived were seen and treated and released in about 6 to 7 hours from time of arrival to discharge from the ER.I was moved to a room after about 12 hours. Also, on the day I was there all 30 Er rooms inside were full and there was never less that 30 people in the lobby waiting area. And the hospital was full!Keep in mind, you are walking into an emergency department right in the middle of the tourist area. (Hopefully Disney’s Advent building willGrab some of these people. )We all saw tourist that had NO symptoms show up with positive Covid test ! Why? There is no treatment if you are Asymptomatic or not sick yet?We saw people who chose to come to the ER Arguing and harassing the staff. The woman I was next to insisted her name was spelled wrong and she had to get her id out of the car. She was shouting at the staff. They told her she could not leave the building with the iv in. One of the nurses stepped in and said he would take her to her car with a security guard to get her id. Wow, above and beyond by him for sure! They could not find it…. Surprise surprise. ( she was trying to get pain medicine) then she accused him of stealing $5000! In cash from her!!! Then he said, get security, they have a tape of everything you carried in we will review the tape. Again surprise surprise she found it. No one saw it but she found it. No need for security.A little bit later she said she had to go to the restroom. They showed her where it was and said she was welcome to go. She never attempted to go and chose to set there and wet her bed and then ask for clean pants and underwear!!! What ??? This is not kindergarten. They finally gave her morphine so she napped, but as soon as she woke up she was screaming about her name being spelled wrong.I do feel bad for people that have addictions. But keep in mind the staff sees the lie from a mile away. They were so nice to her and she wasted so much of their time that was taken fromOther patients. My thought on people that argue with the staff and doctors is they need to be sent back out to the parking lot to think about their choice and come back in with a better attitude!! ( I know the hospital can’t do that but still! )Every staff person, nurse and doctors that we talked to treated us with great respect, patients and kindness! You get what you give.Even after I was admitted the guy next to me had Covid too. He argued that it was not real, refused to follow instructions and refused to take his meds!?! Why!!! Why!!! Did you come into the hospital then waste their time? I do not understand. They had nurse managers working the shifts with the staff because they were so short handed! Again, above and beyond, to be sure we were well.Covid has dramatically change the face of health care forever. These fantastic healthcare workers need to be treated as such! People with real lives, families, feelings and trying to help you heal.Speaking of healing, the food is really not conducive to physical healing. Yucky. But, it is a hospital! Bring snacks, bring a comfort blanket and pillow from home. Bring a family advocate to stay with you or visit to help you so the staff can attend to those that really are alone or can’t get to the bathroom without help.Thank you Orlando Health and Dr Philips for helping my family on the road to recovery. I have been a patient a little too much this year with Orlando Health but it has been a great experience all the way around.

My mother was seen on June 17, 2021, at the Dr. Phillips branch of Orlando Health. She had fallen at a resort close by and was transported by ambulance. She was admitted and released within just a few hours. We were told everything was thoroughly x rayed and scanned and the only issue was a fractured left humerus bone. She was in terrible pain and we kept asking about her right elbow and if that was ok? The elbow was very swollen and causing lots of discomfort. We continued to be told the elbow is fine it is just badly bruised from the impact of the fall. We are directed to follow up with an orthopedic and they felt certain the humerus would heal on its own in time. We then left the ER with a sling and pain meds for discomfort. The following week after pulling teeth for a referral to see an orthopedic, we see an orthopedic who read the images from Dr. Phillips, and he agrees that the humerus bone should heal on its own. My mother then says to him, can you look at my elbow, I’m in terrible pain in my right elbow. The orthopedic says to her, did they X-ray your right elbow? My mother says I’m not sure if they did, they said they took images all over me. He said well I don’t see any of your elbow in your chart. He was very suspicious of the appearance of her elbow so he took images of her elbow himself. The orthopedic then determined that the right elbow underneath had a broken ulna that basically was shattered and dislocated causing her so much pain. He indicated that this fracture should not of been missed. Unfortunately, the elbow was not his area of expertise and told us he was sorry but he could not fix her elbow and we would need to be referred to a different orthopedic that deals with trauma of the hand, wrist, and elbow areas. He was very kind and help wrap her arm for more comfort. He said Dr. Phillips hospital should not of missed this injury if they scanned all over. So because it was the weekend, I had to call Monday and request another referral to be seen by a different orthopedic for her injured elbow. I get in the following Friday, one week later, which is now 2 weeks post injury to see a second orthopedic. She sees the second orthopedic and he agrees that the elbow is messed up and needs surgery right away. He too says that Dr. Phillips Orlando Health should not of missed this injury diagnosis. He indicated he could fix this and should do it ASAP . He said injuries like this should be repaired as soon as they are found to insure proper healing. We left there on July 2 awaiting his office to schedule the surgery. On July 3rd, I called and spoke with a charge nurse about this situation and why it was missed. She later returned my call and said we apologize for the mishap and we are turning this over to risk management to research. Someone will reach out to you as soon as possible. Well it’s July 8th and I’ve still heard nothing from risk management at Dr. Phillips. Better yet, my mom still has not had surgery to repair her elbow. This is all due to the lack of the ER at Dr. Philips not finding her injury when she was taken there by ambulance in the first place. I do not recommend this hospital for any emergency care of any kind. I am extremely disappointed in the care and communication by the hospital. My mom has had to endure pain and unnecessary suffering due to this injury being overlooked. Our health care is unfortunately not at all what it used to be. The level of care is unacceptable and no one should have to wait this long to repair a fractured dislocated elbow.

I was told about 10 years ago I needed neck surgery however, I was very scared. The Surgery in my lower back went well with Dr. Paul Park at U of M in Michigan but they did not mess with my spinal cord. So, being fairly new here in Florida I needed help and Orlando Health was the right place to find it. Dr. Barry Kaplan was the right doctor for me and very well respected by the medical community here in Central Fl. His PA Hanna was extremely down to earth knew exactly what I needed before and after the surgery. The hospital staff and nurses were all angels and made me feel like I was their only patient. I will not hesitate to return to Orlando Health if needed. You can trust their system.

Thank you everyone at Orlando Health for everything, since my day one when I was admitted, prior and before my surgery until I got discharged. All professionals were really helpful, all nurses and assistants are knowledgeable and they were there for me anytime. I’m at home now and so grateful for the whole team that were in my case, the surgeon, the team were amazing. I’ll be forever grateful.

This Orlando Health billing department should never request money without first providing a statement in advance and then the Bill collector should be kind not demanding to pay now or else. Intimidation is what scammers try. Hospital billing departments should be kind humans who are reasonable and non-threatening.The nurses are fantastic! The billing dept. demanding a deposit or threatening to cancel a surgery is not acceptable.

Waited eight hours and nobody saw me. other people who came in later than me were seen immediately and released immediately.I waited EIGHT HOURS in the waiting room for someone to see me, then left when i was not acknowledged. A friend of mine told me this hospital is bad because they’re known to be slow paced.

My fiancé was brought in while on vacation due to some complications from a tonsillectomy (bleeding). We arrived at the ER and I was told to check in with security and they would let me know where she was at after. I checked in and wasnt notified until approximately an hour and a half later.Once I got back there, the nurse was nice. It took them 5 hours to say they were going to check if there was anymore bleeding other than where her scars were. They also said they were keeping her overnight. I find out one doctor said she was ok to go home and another said he wanted to keep her overnight. She stayed over night and I went in to a her in the morning. She wasnt given breakfast and had to call multiple times to keep asking to get her food. Im typing this as we sit here still waiting for her to get food. She has asked for something to help with the pain in her throat and nothing. That was an hour ago and 4 more calls to add to it.Also they told us she would be discharged in the morning around 7 or 8. Then we were told the doctor needed to see her before he discharged her. Apparently the doctor doesnt have a set time and only comes up when she feels like it. We also have a flight we need to catch but they dont seem to care if it is missed or not. She doesnt want to stay any longer because it has been a bad experience. When the doctor finally came in, we both realized she was walking around on the floor for awhile and the nurse kept saying he had not seen her yet and would page her. We come from a small town and the service there is exceptional. I would think a larger hospital would have more hands available and be better. If we ever have to visit a hospital when we come back for another vacation, IM NOT COMING HERE.

From start to finish my experience for my surgery at Dr. Phillips hospital was an overall successful experience I would recommend them to everybody I know. Dr.Warrell is one of the greatest doctors I’ve had the experience toDeal with. The preop and postop nurses we’re very very good I would let them treat anybody in my family if I ever need surgery again in the future and Dr. Phillips hospital is one of my choices I would pick it over any other. Overall I can’t say enough about how great the overall experience was I was nervous In the beginning and they made everything very easy and smooth which I appreciate immensely. Thank you to all the staff at Dr. Phillips hospital.

As far as the nursing, tech and room staff goes--they were first class. No questions went unanswered, no concern went untreated, very professional. The dietary group was also excellent. Meals were good and the one meal I didnt like they replaced with something I could eat. The doctors…well, there was some confusion there and I finally left against advice so my primary care physician could give me better information. But overall, a wonderful hospital.

The WORST hospital ever been in and visited.. I work as a nurse personally and in here theres alot of HIPAA violations. They love to mix up test results, speak about patients outside of the rooms etc. They take their sweet time dealing with a patient. You could call for a nurse due to an emergency and they think its funny and appropriate to come into the room 30 minutes- an hour later. They treated me as if i was not human. Hopefully they fix this with whoever is currently at the hospital and whoever new comes in.. This is RIDICULOUS.

I went to there stand alone ED and was transferred to Dr. Phillips, I received exceptional care from all the nurses & Dr’s. The nurses and doctors were very attentive to my special needs, they made sure I understand everything that was happening to me & answered all my questions. They also, made sure my family’s questions were answered and that they were comfortable with the care I was getting. I recommend this hospital to anyone.

I was having a great experience until I came across Dr Diane Hernandez is unfeeling and uncaring. Its one thing to dismiss your patients and their concerns its another ro dismiss the nurse that is trying to help themThis waiting otherwise would have been a 5 the nurses and everyone else was amazing. Makes me sad that this turned into a horrible experience.

I had heart cath done on May 12th by Dr. Mark Steiner. Should you have issues with your heart I highly recommend going to Dr. Steiner! Hes simply the best. If youre looking for a cardiologist, I highly recommend Dr. Sanjeev Shroff. He makes me feel comfortable and actually listens to what I have to say!!

Probably the oldest hospital in the Orlando Health system. Nobody really checked on my mother after they put her in a room. Called and was told it was no issue visiting her. I show up and they now say no visitors after 9pm even though website says 24 hours. They can’t even keep a website up to date… not who I would trust for my care.

The radiology clerk on the second floor instructed me that I may need to reschedule because my date of birth was in accurate on the referral. This made me quite nervous and delayed my preparations that were required for the test. The technician came out and said everything was fine. It would be beneficial not to tell the patient false information until it is verified. Otherwise the technician were excellent in every capacity.
