*edit* It’s now been 10 days since my procedure and I’m updating this review and adding stars because dr Atallah’s office has made every effort to take care of me and get me what I needed once my issues were finally brought to their attention. As upset as I was about the anesthesia and then falling through the cracks over the weekend, I understand those were mistakes and appreciate them making things right. My wound is healing nicely and although I had some bad experiences, I feel like doctor Atallah did an excellent job of fixing me and i would still recommend him. I left the original review because, well, it all happened. I don’t think mine was an average experience, but it was still what I experienced.*original*Let me start by saying the anesthesiologist should be fired!! It was supposed to be general anesthesia but I wasn’t completely under, just enough that I was delirious and couldn’t move or speak to get anyone’s attention. I was stuck there staring at the ceiling tiles while the procedure was performed and I could feel a burning pain that I later realized was from the cauterizing scalpel. It was like one of those “I was awake for surgery” horror stories you see on TV. But it doesn’t end there.I was sent home with only a day and a half worth of pain meds and told you call the office if I need more. I started calling the number I was given at 9:30 this morning and no one answered, the answering machine went to a web-based text message system that claimed to get faster responses but no one ever responded. Finally I called the surgical center and got transferred to Dr Atallah’s office that way, I was transferred to a PA who took a message and said Dr Atallah would be calling me back, that was 4 hours ago. I’ve now spent 7 hours in pain trying to get ahold of the doctor, the pharmacy closes in two hours so it doesn’t look like I’m sleeping tonight.

Dr. Atallah has been an amazing doctor...THE BEST! My first encounter with him was 9 years ago when I had intestinal problems during chemo treatments for Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was so compassionate and ensured me that together we would get through my last two rounds of chemo. We did and I was forever grateful.Fast forward 9 years and I was diagnosed with colon cancer. The only doctor I wanted to help me was Dr. Atallah. He was again so compassionate, listened to my concerns and basically, held my hand throughout the entire surgical process. He came to the hospital everyday to check on me and ensure that I was doing well, even during the COVID-19 Pandemic! When I was asked by the medical personnel at the hospital who my doctor was, I would say,“Dr. Sam Atallah” and they would always come back with, “ He’s the best!”He IS simply - THE BEST!Thank you so much, Dr Atallah! We’ll get through this next chemo treatment, too.Once again, I am grateful for you!

Dr. Atallah is absolutely brilliant surgeon and a kind human being. I was so grateful to be referred to him by a horrible doctor that gave up on me. On my first visit, he assured me everything was going to be just fine and he would take care of me. He walked me through my whole surgical process and recovery process. He made me honestly feel my health was his top priority. I am young, stage iv SURVIVOR because of him. I am not a friend or family, but forever thankful. I never had to endure the stoma process or had the zipper scare, both so common with my recovery. Im so proud of my scare, or lack-there-of. (about half the size of my pinky nail!) I hope to be a long-time patient of Dr. Atallah, as he is one of VERY few medical professionals I have faith in. It means a lot to me and my recovery when other doctors review my medical history and are pleasantly surprised to see I am a patient of Dr. Atallah. Ive had nurses tell me, The man walks on water! Be patient as Dr. Atallah has A LOT of faithful patients that only want to be seen by him. Sometimes getting an appointment is frustrating, but well worth the wait. You will be in great care.

I have hemorrhoid surgery. I read and believe dr Atallah is a good doctor. I know him as in and out real quick to see patient. Waiting time is at least one hour. His office staff are horrible, all are robots, careless, after surgery I cannot talk to nobody only robots answering machine . everything are on paper “NO TALK” just read and sign. But that instruction is for general not apply to my surgery, I had to asked then she crossed them out , saying not apply to you. ☹️After surgery, I went home had complicated. I admitted to ER, and follow up with my dr in 24 hr, next day I called to office. His nurse Janet told me he had no opening till next 7days. And she will call me back . I waited and left many messages that I need to go in. Only voice message No call back . I admitted to ER again. The 3rd time I admitted to ER , don’t bother to call his robots. Now I need to fill out FML for my work, the lady in his HR name Meera filled out the date was not clear, the number written very confusing 24 look Like 21 my company want her to resend to confirm . Here go again, I called , transfer, left message to robot, called again, sent email directly to Meera. No answer.I believe that we have many good doctors out there as well . Not as careless as dr Atallah office. And he/she will organize his office and training his staff better so you can rest releases after hard time you just went through

Dr. Atallah is an excellent doctor/surgeon. He cares about his patients beyond what the average doctor would. My husband had colon cancer. Dr. Atallah was assigned to him during his stay at Winter Park Hospital Advent Health off of Lakemont Avenue. We truly believe he was/is a gift from God. When you contact him for ANYTHING, he is quick to respond. He is an extremely skilled doctor who puts his patients first - you feel special and he truly cares about you and the work he does. I wouldn’t think twice about referring him to anyone and I know my husband feels the same way. I highly recommend him and if I could give a 10 star review, I would. He always sits down with me, comforts me and assures me that he will take good care of me and he has! I have never had a doctor treat me with such dignity and warmth. Just look at his credentials, his education, his experiences. This surgeon is motivated, he puts in an enormous amount of time into cancer researching and innovative technology and minimally invasive surgery (he thinks it through before putting you under the knife needlessly). Dr. Atallah thank you for your long hours, your ongoing researching and the stresses your endure. Be rest assured you are so appreciated by all your patients and we feel blessed. Dr Sam Atallah saved my life! I had been hospitalized for about 5 months following surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in south Florida. I finally made it closer to home in Central Florida and was at Florida Hospital in Winter Park, no longer able to walk or even stand on my own and just waiting to die when he walked into my room. I remember thinking, Who is this little man with long hair? Lol! I came to see that face as the most handsome in the world! And the admiration and love I still feel for him today is as much for his genuine kindness and compassion as it is for his incredible skills as a surgeon. He never gave up on me, even though I had given up on myself. It took time, more surgeries and a few years of TPN but 10 years later I am still alive and have a good quality of life.I had gone to a world famous Colo-rectal surgeon to have a colectomy due to ulcerative colitis out of control. My complications were not addressed timely in south Florida, and 3 weeks after total colectomy, I was taken to emergency surgery to have a complete gastrectomy. I was in ICU for many weeks and many of those weeks were NPO. I came very close to dying and was in a coma on a ventilator at one point. Getting to central Florida, and Dr Atallah, made all the difference. I only regret was that I did not know about him before I went to the Cleveland Clinic; I have no doubts that I would have had a much easier recovery. I made sure that the surgeon in Lake County who referred me to the Cleveland Clinic surgeon learned about my experience. If you are facing a life-altering surgery, be sure that your surgeon has more than experience doing the surgery; make sure you are comfortable with surgeons communication skills and bedside manner. And finally, do let your fear of living with an Ostomy cause you to live in pain and misery. You will adjust to the Ostomy, I promise, and you will remember how great it is to live without being sick.I really would take a bullet for Dr Atallah!

Worst pain ever. Did surgery on me and sent me home with a pain prescription for Darvocet- which was no longer in use. His surgery made my original problem worse-I had to have a second surgery with another doctor to fix what Atalah did.

My son is only 21 years. Was this a bad practice? Suddenly few days ago (January 2017), we got a letter stating Dr Atallah is leaving the practice. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in Dec of 2011. I saw a few surgeons that wanted to do open surgery to get at least 12 lymph nodes but Dr Atallah was able to perform a laparoscopic colon resection on me. He was able to do half of the surgery robotically. He removed all of my tumor as well as 34 lymph nodes which were all cancer free. I had three small incisions on my stomach about one cm each and one incision about one inch through my belly button. I was back on my feet two days after surgery and had no more pain after about two weeks. My tumor was in my splenic flexture and I did not need a colostomy bag. Since then I only go see him for my colonoscopies every couple years even though it’s a routine procedure. I couldn’t recommend or thank Dr Atallah enough!

I was referred to Dr Atallah back in 2013 after a routine colonoscopy found colorectal cancer. On my first appointment, he explained in detail, everything that was happening to me and drew diagrams in detail to explain what would need to be done to correct the situation. My tumor was located in an area that could be operated on without having any Chemo or Radiation at first. We made an appointment for surgery and of course, everything turned out 150% perfect and I was told by one of his fellows that the surgery went well with no problems and that they did not find anything out of margin.Speaking of Fellows, there is a waiting list of Medical Doctors that want to finish their Fellowship with Dr Atallah. He offers this program and the training that goes along with it. These MDs have nothing but the highest respect for his medical knowledge as well !Dr Atallah is one of the inventors of TAMIS which is a proceedure for minimum Invasive Surgery and travels worldwide giving clinics and conventions on this subject and also the use of Robotics in this area of medicine.I just want to mention that I have read all of the reviews here and it appears that a couple of people have left some nasty remarks about him. I dont think that these people have ever had an appointment with him! They are doing this just to be nasty! Just look at the names that they are using as patients.
