I went to Beauty Brands for a haircut and left very unsatisfied. I complained. I received an immediate response from the manager Tammy McGrew. She offered to meet with me right away and not only give me a full refund but offer me another haircut with a different stylist at no charge. She was wonderful to deal with. Very professional and genuinely concerned that I be satisfied with the service. I will definitely be returning.

Its fine. Lots of choices for an old man with VERY curly hair. All the employees are behind the checkout counter. When they are not checking out someone else, theyll help you. Sometimes you wait a long time.

Came here for a eyebrow wax and was pleasantly surprised! They got me in quickly (same day) and the stylist did a wonderful job with my eyebrows. The wax was very gentle on my sensitive skin, and did not leave any redness behind but picked up all the hair.Highly recommend this place!

Everyone here is super sweet. My normal hair person was booked/off for this weekend. I went with Hattie. She is also a wonderful and caring hair person. She is also great. This is the best Beauty Brands that I have ever went to. They understand and are really respectful of everyone.

Aubrey did my highlights on June 29th. She did a wonderful job and was wonderful company at the same time! She kept her work station clean and clutter free. She masked. She used gloves when using product. She showed me color samples due to myself still trying to decide on color. She updated me on the process and always gave me times (examples: We will check on this in 15 minutes. This looks like it could use 10 more minutes). There was a slight correction needed that I didnt even notice, but she did and she corrected it after explaining the situation. It was an easy fix, of course. She was straight up AMAZING!!!I came with my adult daughter on the 30th and she also had highlights done as well as a cut, but with a different stylist (Chris I believe). Her hair looks so beautiful! It seriously screams out SUMMER IS HERE! and we couldnt ask for it to look any better! She had a wonderful experience and also received wonderful service!However, the thing that stood out to us was the way a stylist and manager handled a dramatic, rude, unhappy customer, whom was very nasty to your staff. The attending stylist stayed calm and respectful while trying to talk with the customer and being yelled and laughed over. The manager was also calm and respectful while the customer continued. They tried to explain the process, offered to correct it if the customer was still unhappy after the hair gets dried (blonde didnt look blonde while still wet). Things calmed for the most part after she was told that since she didnt want to continue (dry hair and correct if not happy after drying), that she was not going to be charged and offered to help get her a consult else where. For the record, as her hair started to dry on its own, it was indeed a beautiful blonde.I appraise your patience.I appraise your calmness.I appraise your self control.And I seriously appreciated the stop to the drama we all had to witness.

The store at 119th & Strang Line has employees that understand my numerous allergies. They are knowledgeable in assisting my finding product that wont make me ill or have an allergic reaction.

I had an appointment today with Kristine F. to get my lashes tinted and eyebrows waxed. Its the first time Ive ever had my lashes tinted, and Kristine was amazing! She took incredible care to make sure that all of my lashes were evenly coated and walked me through the whole process as she worked.My brows look better than ever - Im always nervous when I see someone new for an eyebrow wax, but she tailored the shape of my eyebrows to match my face and the waxing was quick and painless. My skin wasnt even red by the time I left.

AWFUL.I went there to get balayage. I already had prexisiting highlights lifted to at least a level 7.The woman MADE MY HAIR ORANGE. And decided that it was fine. “The toner went on darker than I expected”So now I get to walk around with messed up hair for the next week before they can fix it.I went there because my dad died and I needed something to make me feel better. And I left feeling worse. Literally the worst experience ever. I love bleaching and damaging my hair for no reason.

Thank goodness for Beauty Brands and Courtney! I had an appointment at another hair salon and had it canceled after driving over an hour away and was not told about it. After being treated horribly at the other salon I came to Beauty Brands hoping I could possibly get in. Courtney stayed late to do my hair since I was leaving the next day to go have my graduation pictures done in another state. The whole staff made my day and truly made me feel special. I will definitely come back!

I wanted a quality set of products that would protect my hair during a blow dry and flat iron, and keep the frizz down. I also needed a product that I could finish with that would assist in my hair looking smooth/shiny. Im not very knowledgeable on hair products so I inquired with an associate who lead me to the Big Sexy hair product line and said I would need the Prep Me Primer and the Support Me Heat Protection. I asked, if that was all I needed for everything I told her I was looking for -- she said yes. Little did I know the heat protection spray is HAIRSPRAY!! How in the world is hairspray going to make my hair smooth and shiny? These products were for a special occasion and I typically do not shell out this kind of money, but wanted something of quality. I was disappointed with my LONG hair being hair sprayed and flat ironed to a crisp. I brushed it out hoping that would help -- nope - my hair then went all static. I would hope that associates would be knowledgeable in the products they are selling. Now Im out $ on a product I cant use.

Tammy was amazing. I was looking for a couple travel items for my upcoming trip. They were out of both things I was looking for. I asked Tammy for help and she said she could help me out. They were out of my items, but she ended up going to the back and found a gift bag from this past weekend that had a similar item in it. She just gave me the gift bag for free. No purchased required, nothing. That’s amazing customer service.

I visited this place because my clutch went out on my car beside this store in Overland Park. I went in to use bathroom because I had drank 2 mugs of coffee on the trip to the city. I bought some nail polish while inside. The Royal Blue color that I Love.

Had a appointment today with Elizabeth for a haircut. She spent time talking through what i wanted and talked me through everything she did while cutting my hair. She was super friendly and did a amazing job on my hair. Im always nervous about getting my hair cut, especially with someone new. Elizabeth put me at ease and i felt very comfortable letting her work on my hair. Im very happy and would definitely recommend her to everyone i know. Thank you for a great cut.

Just went into the Olathe store to pick up some products that were on sale online. I was rudely informed by the shift manager (which I can’t unfortunately remember her name) that they do not honor online sales! I believe this to be wrong because I have never had problems before. Regardless, don’t anticipate me coming back to this location!

This store is convenient for me to go to. However every time I go into the store never have the product I need. There always out. If this product is is very popular at this location then more should be added to the replenishment. I love the high amplify hairspray. I shouldnt have to go to other locations to get a product that I like.

I went to see the master stylist Kathy. I showed her a picture of a man with longer hair and told her thats what I wanted. It was only slightly shorter than my hair already was and I just needed a slight trim. Instead, she decided to do her own thing with my hair and cut it very short. Its going to take months to grow it out to even be close to the length in the picture I showed her. Dont go here if you want someone you can trust.

Its a beauty salon. I think their a cut above. They carry a full line of hair products, for men and women.

Definitely a bit frustrated. Went in with hair straight for a trim. The stylist never stopped to ask what I was comfortable with she just went in chipping away. A few minutes in I ask how much do I need and she says “I just cut off your length because...” I was frustrated because she never asked or discussed what was needed BEFORE she chopped it off. She stated I had “heat damage” but I knew that wasn’t true, I use heat maybe once a year. When I got home I noticed certain spots were a different length and they were directly next to each other. My hair is literally short now. She just did what she wanted to do without considering the customer service aspect of making sure the client was okay and that she did what I wanted. It’s straight and it’s choppy.I’m normally visit A salon where she does what I ask and checks in before she goes cutting away. She shows my the problem and we discuss and plan. It’s going to take forever to grow back the hair she cut. I went in with below my bra strap and now it’s a few inches below my shoulder. Courtesy and professionalism of discussion and consideration would have went a long way. If I would have known, I could have made my own decision. Will not be back, will wait for an open appointment with the stylist I trust (at another salon).For beauty brands to charge so much for a “cut” it should be better.

I’m grateful BEAUTY BRANDS taking temps at door but if you have a high temp and see it on the thermometer why would you just let that customer and child in , I hope corporate sees this and tells people at door yes if a temp do NOT let in apologize nor whatever don’t just say get what you need I’m just in disbelief that on 119th Street Olathe Location just is Ignorant

I went to Beauty Brands yesterday. This place was busy! Everyone was getting ready forNew Years. It was still easy to find a place to park tho. The quality of service at Beauty Brands at this location is fantastic. I prefer to come to this location.

My hair is really hard to mess up but my stylist did a horrible job on my highlights. I can’t wear my hair in a ponytail because there is a distinct line at the roots right after getting my hair highlighted. And to top it off way way over priced.

I visited the store on 02/01/2020 and my experience was less than stellar. However, General Manager Amber has gone above and beyond to rectify the situation. Amber listened, offered feedback, and took a strong interest in my point of view. GMs like Amber are few and far between. What an amazing experience.

Normally I have an OK experience at this Beauty Brands but today I got my hair trimmed and told her i was growing out my hair and that i just wanted a bit of face framing and Master Stylist Shelley (she was very nice and I really liked her) basically cut a big chunk out of the front of the right side of my face. I wish i could insert a picture because i didn’t notice right away but I got home and it seriously is about 5 inches wide of just a straight up chin length chunk right at the front of my face. the rest of my hair is at my collarbone.

I was at this establishment this evening to buy Christmas gifts. I had over $100 worth of product therefore decided it would be beneficial to split my order to get the free candle for over $30 in purchases. The employee said no only 1 per customer. My son was with me so I said he is the 2nd customer. She again said she was not allowed to do this transaction despite the fact I had 2 people to make the transaction. I walked out of the store and went home and ordered online all my items in 2 transactions and with free shipping. I guess this store doesnt want to make money and lost my future business because of a stubborn sales associate.

This was my first time at this store. Honestly, I forgot that this location even existed. And I work right down the street. The enthusiastic and energetic cashier noticed I was buying a certain mens hair product, and happily scanned a coupon I wasnt even aware existed. The coupon saved me a cool $4.00. All of the staff at this location provided a world class customer experience. Ill definitely be back.

I used to get my hair done here before prices were raised yet again. The salon is good but not stellar, especially for the price. However, if you need a new makeup style, the ladies here are always happy to help. Great place to get a free makeover for your face and find decent makeup at a fairly decent price. Definitely better than any other makeup counter Ive visited.

I’m giving one star because they did work with me on changing my appointment time. However, my daughters hair was horrible! We paid $61 for the “Master” stylist. I would like to know what she’s a master of. I can do hair better than what they did at beauty brands. We will never go there again. It was my daughters first homecoming dance so I treated her to get her hair done. DO NOT GO TO THE OLATHE BEAUTY BRANDS!!! I want my money back!

I always go to this salon to get my hair done. Sara does an amazing job. She is one of the only stylists that actually listens to hair you want your hair cut and makes it happens. Ive brought photos in to places in the past and my hair will end up looking nothing like what I wanted. I can actually trust my hair with Sara and know it will look great after. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 star rating is because it is a little expensive.

My daughter went there tonight and showed Sarah exactly where she wanted her hair cut and Sarah cut an additional 5 inches off. I have had to deal with an extremely upset teenager this evening. Stop being distracted and listen to your clients.

Sarah Jane is like a godsend. She was so sweet and listened to everything I had to say. She does an amazing job with cuts and colors. Julie is an amazing Nail technician. I go to her every time. Kourtney is like a color genius and master at her craft!!! Omg! Love her! .... I have yet to have a bad service here. My brows also love this place as every time I get them waxed, they are perfect. $269 balayage and we struggle to tell the difference between the before and after pictures. Pretty disappointing! And this was from their highest ranked “master expert” stylist...

We went in with a picture of what my daughter wanted, honey blond highlights all over. The picture showed highlights all over, but the technician decided to bleach my daughters hair. When some old highlights showed up, they decided to bleach the bottom half of her hair a second time, completely ruining the bottom half of her hair. It is now full on yellowish bleach blond instead of highlighted honey blond. Next, the technician decides to start cutting off her hair without talking to my daughter about length and ends up cutting over 10” off and the cut is so obviously uneven that I can tell my daughter is upset. When I made a comment about it to the technician, she stated hat my daughters hair “cut itself!” What?!? Sure they offered to try and fix the cut, but at this point my daughter is horrified and doesn’t want her to do anything law to it. I swear, this lady must have never touched a mixed persons hair before and should have been upfront about her inability to do it instead of trying to get it done and sill charging us. My heart is broken because my daughter has been sobbing for the past two hours now and I can’t do anything to fix it. I am mortified with this service and will never step foot in beauty brands again and caution anyone else deciding to go with a major change to go somewhere else!!

Came into Beauty Brands for a bang trim last night & the girl, Jennifer I believe, butchered them. I explained exactly what I wanted & she did the opposite. On top of them being way to short they are extremely crooked but I dont want them fixed bc they will be even shorter. Ive had bangs for about 10 years & have never had such a horrible bang trim. I left in tears. I NEVER complain or write reviews but this girl needs to go back to cosmetology school or work at Great Clips or something!

Been growing out an unfortunate hair situation for the past few years and Im finally just starting to get it back to where I like it. After traveling around the salon from stylist to stylist and having months of kinda blah haircuts (mostly due to the length of my hair), I finally got hooked up with Alan at the Olathe salon. My first haircut with him was okay, he did the best he could with what he was working with. I had choppy layers with bangs and I looked kind of like a low-budget Amelie...The second haircut with Alan however... WOW. The is the first haircut Ive had in almost two years that I didnt secretly hate. He nailed the shape and turned my muppet-like haircut into a sleek bob. It just FEELS and looks healthier and I dont wake up in the morning with super crazy hair. Even my bed head looks good! Will continue visiting Alan, my saving grace stylist at Beauty Brands.

My little sister got her hair done here by Yenny and it looked nothing like the picture and continued to tell her she knows it looks nothing like the picture but it’s fine bc “i get the money anyway”.

I have had my fair share of bad haircuts so Im always leary about trying a new place or stylist. I have utilized several different stylists at Beauty Brands (completely my fault because Im terrible about scheduling in advance) and have not once had an issue or didnt leave happy. It can feel a little expensive if you are on a tight budget but so worth the money. Even if it requires me waiting longer than I would like to (because of needing extra $, not due to any fault of theirs) I refuse to go anywhere else. I highly recommend you try it if you havent already!

I took my daughter to get her haircut- made the appointment and was called about an hour prior and asked to move it to another stylist a little later. That was inconsiderate of beauty brands. Then when my daughter got the haircut the girl asked her if she wanted it curled which as any 10 year old would do - she said yes and I said Ok cause I’m not going to take it away now it was offered. I was Shocked that the curl was more expensive than the cut. By law I should be informed of any extra charge. Then after all that the cashier did not put the service on my account so I can have the points towards my next award. She realized it and I would have had to wait longer for her to fix that. I was so disgusted I just wanted to leave and points may not matter because I am going to try to take my business ( and that if my 4 girls ) someplace else.

They also do a bad color job that only lasts maybe a week, I have never seen a manager walk around and when you call to make an appointment they make it seem to be a problem. I from now on will take my business to the Lawrence location since they actually care about there customers and they do a great color job.
