I had 2 spinal surgeries late in 2017. After almost a year of recovery I was ready to get back to some level of fitness. At 56 years old, I was unprepared for how hard it would be to “start over”. When I found Newport Strength, the coaches (Sarah and Sarah) and I decided that the best plan of action for me was to progress slowly and work within my limits. Thanks to Personal Training AND the Group Fitness classes -which are modified for my skill level-I’m feeling so much stronger! The community at Newport Strength is wonderfully supportive and encouraging. Try Newport Strength. You’ll be happy you did!

I have been working out at Newport Strength for a year now. I’ve gone to many gyms and have tried many different types of workouts. By far Newport Strength is the best!!I was born with a hip problem and within the last couple of years its have given me more and more trouble. The coaches at Newport Strength have worked with me on trying to find what’s best for my hip. If there is something in the workout that I cannot do they will find me something I can do. They always work with me. They not only do cardio but strength work as well.I started out doing PT with Sarah Smith and she really helped me learn what I can with my hip and after about 2/4 months of working with her I finally started doing the group training and I love it. Everyone is nice and we all cheer each other on to do our best. Plus the coaches are awesome!! They always make sure your having fun and doing the workout properly.If your looking for a fun and happy place to workout at I recommend Newport Strength.

A friend and I decided to try out Newport Strength after work today. I had called ahead of time and spoke to Lucy. She was very helpful and let us know we could try our first class for free. When we arrived, we were greeted by Spencer. He gave us the run down the gym and all they offer - group fitness classes and Olympic weight lifting training). I had only packed a workout sweater and he helped me out to a complimentary tank (in exchange for a review). I was very thankful that I didnt have to sweat to death. Our class only had 3 people, and Sarah (trainer) tailored the exercises to my capabilities - Im returning to the gym after a hiatus. The monthly membership is a little steep, but it seems like you get very individualized attention and planning (nutrition and physical therapy included). I will definitely keep this place in mind when deciding on a gym. Thanks guys! I had an awesome experience.

Came to Newport strength looking for motivation to get back to focusing on my health and fitness. Spencer, Sarah, and Chris are extremely friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. I definitely appreciate the personalized guidance while getting my butt kicked! Can’t wait to do another class!

I started going to Newport Strength a little over a year ago. I have been an unmotivated middle-aged exerciser who has relied on trainers and cardio to keep in some type of shape. I was never satisfied with the expense, and not so fantastic results. I was looking for something different and Newport Strength provided exactly what I was looking for, and more. Newport Strength has a unique combination of cross fit classes geared especially for women (although they have Coed classes too), with kind and compassionate trainers, and priced reasonably. Even though I had no idea how to do Cross Fit, both the class members and the Coach were really supportive. Little by little I got better and more coordinated in class. Over the course of the year I also did two four-week Take Down Challenges which is a nutrition program that supplements the work outs. All told, since my start at Newport Strength, I have lost over 25 pounds and went from a size ten to a roomy size six in pants. Oh yeah. I am a lot stronger. No one, is more surprised at these results then I am. The true bonus is that I have found a safe and comfortable place with supportive coaches and friends that encourage me to work harder every single week.

I’ve been working out for years, but needed something more than I was getting from my gym...out looking for the right fit, I found Newport Strength. My body, weight, and overall health has improved drastically since joining! The people are fun, the instructors are very informative, and the classes are always a great mix of strength and cardio!

I want to take the time to recommend Newport Strength only if you are looking for great coaches, committed friends and a place to call your gym.I have to say that my journey has been hard, challenging and yes, fun.When I started, I was not one for group classes or doing burpees. I found myself out of breadth quickly and not able to do the prescribed weight levels. It was hard but I continued to work on my levels and build upon my successes to be able to do the Rx workouts.I found that I enjoyed the group classes, challenging workouts and the thoughtful, instructive and motivating coaches. The start of challenges can make you wonder why you are there and their completion can amaze you that you were able to do so much. The work outs are diverse, modified to appropriate skill, strength and condition levels and they are fun to do with friends.There have been injuries along the way. My coaches have helped me to modify my workouts to return to active routines and my opinion, reduce my recovery time.I am working on personal goals with my coaches. My coaches put together custom programs to develop my technique and overcome weaknesses. They monitor my improvements and celebrate in my successes. My friends are motivating and encouraging during the group workouts.My overall goal of continuing to live a healthy, challenging and fun lifestyle is supported by my team at Newport Strength. Show up and challenge yourself if you are ready for a stronger, healthier you.

My daughter Madison has been coming to Newport Strength for the last 6 months and has participated in the kids weightlifting class. She has learned so much from Chris! She looks forward to coming every week. The coaches, equipment and facility are top notch.

I started going to Newport Strength in January, the lowest point in my life (physically). My only goal was to get stronger. I didnt like to move, exercised now and then, but never put my heart into it. Did that change!Now, after four months, I cant get enough, feel so much stronger, along the way I also lost 20 pounds and a couple of sizes. The trainers are excellent, know exactly how far I should go, are very aware of the perfect form, challenge and support me with passion and knowledge. I also appreciate the great support the women in my group offer to each other. The atmosphere completely lacks competitiveness among us. As I am probably the oldest person (67) in the group and the least performing, I value this.

As an older athlete (56) I so appreciate the small class size and the attention the coaches are able to provide. All of the coaches are excellent at knowing when I need to be pushed and when to slow me down. The reason they can do that is because they take the time to know me. They know my goals and my limitations so I always feel empowered to get the most out of each session while feeling safe that I wont do something foolish and hurt myself. Im excited that I dont see a limit to how far I can go with with my strength and fitness as I approach 60 (and beyond!)

If you are looking for an amazing place to re-tune your body or simply go for it big time this is the place. You can trust you will be coached by the best trainers in the business and I mean that! Every trainer is 100% qualified to re-shape your body and they do it at your pace. No embarrassing moments, no intimidation despite what condition you walk in the door with. Words cant describe the impact this gym and the people in it have had on my life. Ive only been working out here for about 5 months now, but I feel like Ive known these genuine people for years. Chris, Sara, Shalina and Lucy are truly genuine people, and their expertise and knowledge in the sport is incredible. Not only that, they actually make an effort to get to know you on a personal level, create a relationship with you, and actually care about your health and fitness. When I first started, I couldnt even think about sitting in a squat because it hurt too much. Now, Im slowly on my way to going below parallel. I wake up back and hip pain free, Im happier and have more energy throughout the day. Newport Strength is quickly becoming my escape from the every day, as its pretty much the only thing I look forward to on weekdays...besides taco Tuesdays, NOTHING beats taco Tuesdays. Thank you guys for your help and support. I cant wait to see where Ill be at next year.

I dont know how this company does business when interested customers call multiple times over a month and email to join and neither correspondence is returned. I even stopped by on my way to work during a week day to see if I could join in person and no one was there. I had to actually ask the company next door if Fly was even in business because it appeared to not even be in business. How are you going to get new customers with your business practices?

It can be hard to find a spot to train at when traveling and doing your own programming, most places only offer the option to drop in to a class or have very restricted open gym hours, but newport strength had a really nice, spacious and well equiped open gym that they allowed me to use. They have dedicated areas for powerliftig, weightlifting and functional fitness/crossfit. The owners Chris and Sarah are super friendly too.
