I had an umbilical hernia repair done a little over three weeks ago, and I was astounded by how seamless the recovery was. I only ever needed to use opioid painkillers once, the very night after the surgery, and it was only at the direction of hospital staff. A certain amount of soreness set in on the second day, but again, Dr. Harris expertise and techniques are such that by the third and fourth day, it was almost forgettable that I had even gone in for surgery. Dr. Harris takes time to field any questions you may have regarding your hernia, the surgery and recovery outlook. He is kind, caring and has an obvious interest in the best outcome for his patients. If I were to be given the choice between California Hernia Specialists, and going somewhere else, I would 100% choose Dr. Harris all over again. Dr. Todd Harris is an excellent MD and the experience I had was top notch. I had a bilateral inguinal hernia and originally I had been referred by my primary care physician to a different surgeon. For multiple reasons I decided to go elswhere and did my own research where I found Dr. Todd Harris with California Hernia Specialists. My initial appointment with Dr. Harris was about two weeks from when I first contacted his office. At my initial consultation I had almost no wait time and upon meeting Dr. Harris I found him to be very pleasant and professional. The consultation was relatively quick (I wasnt expecting a lengthy one) and he described to me what would be done and answered all of my questions. The staff at Dr. Harris office looked into my insurance and advised me of costs within a couple/few days. To my surprise it turned out, in my particular case, that going out of network was actually more cost effective by about 40%. Not sure of all the details why but some of it had to do that I have an HSA PPO so I definitely saved some dollars there...a big thank you for that one! Less than two weeks later I had my procedure done laparoscopically at Prime Surgical Center in Newport Beach and the facilities and staff are absoulutely outstanding. Dr. Harris performed the procedure in a little less than an hour. My recovery was fast with no significant pain. What I felt was more like bloated, gas discomfort so I didnt take any pain killers (not even a Tylenol). However, if I coughed or sneezed, well thats another story. All I had was the expected swelling/bruising for several days afterward. At week three I had my follow-up with Dr. Harris where everything went well and was given a detailed summary of what he did during the procedure. Its been five weeks since the surgery and everything is great and has healed-up nicely.I highly recommend Dr. Harris, his staff and the staff at Prime Surgical Center in Newport Beach. Dr Harris has been the best. This is my second hernia surgery (first one was with a different Dr.) and my healing time has seriously been cut in half compared to my first operation. Dr Harris is a true specialist of his work. Only thing is they’re office quoted me wrong for my surgery and and underquoted me about 400 dollars and I got a random bill in the mail from them and upon calling there was “nothing they could do”....

Hernia surgery is both sensitive and scary at first. My wife and I visited 3 different doctors and unanimously Dr Harris office was by far the best. Best in cleanliness, friendliness and expertise. I am 3 weeks post surgery ops and my recovery is 100% on track. Was just cleared by the Doc to return to exercise and sports within moderation this week. I used a lot of Ice (frozen) post Ops regiliously every 2-4 hours for the 1st week and every 4 hrs for the first week. Did nothing strenuous for the 1st two weeks - nothing! And used No pain medication during the recovery. Dr Harris was a master at mending my Hernia at this stage in recovery.

I was fortunate to have Dr. Harris as my Hernia surgeon. He walked me through the process in our first meeting and at hospital his bedside manner was great. Absolute Professionals from the beginning of the process to the end! I actually traveled all the way from North Dakota to have my hernia repaired by Dr. Harris. I am 28 yrs old and had a right inguinal hernia about the size of a golf ball for roughly 3 years. Doctor Todd Harris opted to repair the hernia via the laparoscopic method and I am so glad we decided to go that route. I had mild pain and swelling for about 5 -7 days, but after two weeks I felt pretty much normal. I am absolutely amazed at how fast my body healed up and recovered from surgey. I had a left inguinal Hernia repair performed by doctor Todd Harris at the Memorial Care surgical center at Orange Coast.The staff at doctor Harriss office and at the surgical center were extremely courteous and were great communicators.My treatment as a patient at the surgery center was five stars. I was seen with only a ten minute wait and I felt totally comfortable with getting all of the presurgical paperwork and checking of vitals and weight and height.I was seen by doctor Harris before the procedure started and was also seen by the Anesthesiologist.My procedure went without any problem. I had zero pain when I woke up and zero pain the entire day. I had little pain postoperative and only had to take a half a pain pill four times.My recovery has been fast and excellent!! I am very satisfied with my recovery and was able to go back to the gym for light workouts eight days after the procedure!! This was a concern as I am very active and did not want to take a three week break from working out.If you are considering having a hernia repair I highly recommend Todd Harris!! He did use a mesh to repair the hernia. I was concerned about the mesh repair as this has gotten some bad press. I have no issues or concerns about the mesh that doctor Harris uses and three weeks postop I feel great.I give doctor Todd Harris his staff and the staff at the surgery center FIVE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!Thank you doctor Harris and your team!!Scott Abelson

Scheduled an appt. for my husband to go in for a consultation. I reviewed with the woman on the phone everything about our insurance, group ID # and everything, she assured me our insurance was excepted there and to come in. So he drove down during the middle of his work day and was told onsite that they dont take the insurance or that our deductible was so much and he needed to pay $250 for them to see him for the consultation. And then gave him a BS excuse as to way they could not call me back and let me know this, BEFORE HE DROVE TO NEWPORT. Be careful sounds like they are not very organized.Next day update - I received a call from Dr. Harris directly. This assures me that he does indeed care for the way the business is ran. Good Job Dr. on the follow up! I changed my review from one to three stars just for the call alone.

I went in for a LHR to be done laparascopicly and received an open hernia repair. Hernia was mild. An ugly 5 scar. Staff were friendly.

Really bad experience. I called for appointment, and the lady said you cant have an appointment as your insurance is not covered by us. I was ready to pay appointment fees by the way. And the lady on the call was also rude to me.

Excellent staff a very humane treatment and the price for which we do not have Insurance is what they say to one there are no hidden charges, Dr Harris and all the staff thank you very much.
