While this was not my first time at East River Medical Imaging, I had my first mammogram there. The technician who performed my mammogram made me feel comfortable. I also appreciated the cushion on the metal plate. The technician who did the ultrasound was also quite good and the check-in process was efficient. Well done.

This place was so extremely professional, I appreciated how they made me feel like an actual human being, even though I was getting an uncomfortable procedure done, and they took every single COVID precaution. On its own, this place is great, but even better when compared to other options in this field. I went to another imaging place and walked out because they had women sitting in waiting rooms in paper gowns, there were men around, it was awful, so Im really thankful East River is around.Edit: I’ve had the first appointment every time I’ve been there and still had to wait 30-45 minutes

From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable because all the staff treated me wonderfully and were extremely knowledgeable—from the gentleman at the desk to the woman who did my mamogram to Dr Pinals. I was impressed that the technician had reviewed my past test and double-checked some information. Dr Pinals spoke with me to explain why one test wasnt being done. It was a completely thorough test and experience. I had thought about going elsewhere because youre far on the east side, but I will return.

I found the office in neat order and felt welcomed upon arrival. I saw the radiologist right at the time of my appointment. She was warm and kind. She explained everything and made me feel very calm. The doctor came in following my ultrasound to explain the results and the images sent to my primary physician right away. The care and follow through was excellent, especially given the emotional stress of this appointment.

Walking into east river put my mind at ease almost immediately. The well designed space is comforting and the cleanliness is apparent. I was very nervous before I arrived, but the environment itself had a soothing effect.Before I walked in,my anxiety was a 10 out of 10. By the time I left I was relaxed and knew that no matter outcome, I would be okay and they would help me with next steps. Evelyn and Doctor Goldman were both kind, sympathetic, and took the time to explain every strep of the procedure. They worked so well together and the procedure itself was seamless and painless.Thank you so much to entire east river team for taking what was one of the scariest days of my life and helping me get through it safety and a sense of calm. What an amazing team! It is clear that this organizations puts their patients first and that for the time you are in that space, you are the only thing that matters. This is an outlier where patients are often just another number. Excellent service and bedside manner

1. Notified in advance that E 72nd St. behind schedule and would it work to go to E 59th? Amazing!!1a. Took forever on phone to get human being. Receptionist at doctors office could get through so I, patient, had to make arrangements. That is completely unacceptable and BS.1b. Person whom answered phone to make my appointment was so lacking in information and knowledge that out of frustration, I handed my cell to podiatrist Receptionist because I lost patience. NOT ACCEPTABLE and BS.2. Staff at E 59th are amazing and nice!!

From the moment I checked in I was greeted with such an enthusiastic staff that was very supportive and helpful. Jessica the radiologist who did my 3D mammogram was wonderful and made me feel at ease. The same for Linda who did my sonogram.Finally when all my tests were completed then Dr. Lauren Goldman came in to speak with me and go over my entire history and discuss her findings. She was professional, thorough and wonderful at making me feel at ease and explaining my condition.East River Imaging will always be my go to place for radiology!!!

I have visited this site for over 10 years and I can say that I have only had 2 experiences that did not leave much to be desired. I always appreciated the kindness and the gentleness of the technicians that is until my visit in July 2020 and my recent visit. I say this because having a breast examination can be stressful and change the rest of a womans life SO it would be nice if the technician performing the sonogram take a refresher and practice a bedside manner. I did not appreciate Riannas (not sure if this is the correct spelling) nonchalance. Shae asked me to wait near my dressing room. I waited for a while, Shae noticed that I was still waiting and kindly told me that someone would be with me soon. Then 2 minutes later, Rianna passed by me, walked into the waiting area, called my name, then walked in a quick second, she walked back into the examining area. As she did this, I let her name it was me she was looking for, with her back turned, she told me Please give me a minute. Ummm, then why did you call me. Once in the room, I was fumbling with where I would rest my head because the table was long enough. I am 58. After about a few twists and turns, she decided to finally pull out the table. Then when I asked whether I should take off my shoes so that I could put my feet on the table, her response was It doesnt matter to me. That right there put me in a not so relaxed mood. The entire time, I wondered whether this technician was doing a thorough sonogram of my breast. To end this monologue, if it is 5 years later, I do not want this woman to EVER perform a sonogram on me. Understandably staff was low due to Ida, so if this should be the case, then call me and reschedule me. The same for the technician who performed my sonogram last year. She was only kind when the Dr was present.

It was pleasant. All the staff were nice and attentive and explained themselves fully on each procedure that I was having that day. They made me feel comfortable, especially when I had the 3D mammogram screening. My last mammogram, which was performed by a different company, wasn’t a good experience and left me with a lot of pain afterwards. It resulted in waiting 6 years just to have the courage to go get another one again. Thank you everyone for your professionalism.

The appointment process was easy and the person who called to make the appointment was kind. I arrived and felt immediately that health was the most important thing. People were waiting but there was appropriate social distancing. The online checkin was easy and intuitive so that when I arrived at the office I was quickly escorted to a safe seating area. The technician was kind, informative, thoughtful, and respectful. Check-out was also a breeze.

The staff and technicians were lovely and reassuring, however, I asked if the results of the bone density, mammogram and breast sonogram could be transferred to my gynecologist immediately since I had an appointment later that afternoon. Everyone assured me there was no problem since I had a 8:30 appointment and the gynecologist appointment wasnt until 4:00. The results were never received, and it is now 4 days later and no one has received results despite the promises made. Very disappointing because the visit was so pleasant

Honestly, this was my back up place when Weill Cornell was booked…. It will now be my first choice. EVERY single person was warm and welcoming. I had a mammo and ultrasound and lots of nerves and questions. Highly recommend! I also left my previous mammo cd’s by mistake and they were returned by mail in a timely manner along withy results .Can’t say enough great things!

I was early for my mammogram and I was seen right away. The technician was very kind, gentle and respectful. When she saw that I was also scheduled for a bond density test on a different day, she asked whether it would be possible for one of the other technicians to see me while I was there for my mammogram. I was very pleased that they performed both tests on the same day with absolutely no waiting. The bone density technician was also very kind and respectful. I had a great experience.

Almost everything was great. Registering was simple. Nice check-in. The woman at the front desk was very nice. Waiting room was clean and nice; good social distancing too. Overall a nice experience. The nurse/technician who performed the ultrasound seemed mechanically competent.My one complaint with my experience was the way the ultrasound was performed. The whole process took appx. 45 minutes. The nurse/technician who performed the ultrasound never gave me a sense of what was going to happen at any point before it was happening.She merely gave me immediate instructions. Breath. Stop breathing. Roll over on your side. Turn over. Breath. Long breath. Raise your hands above your shoulders. Etc.It made me feel like I was an object that the nurse/technician was testing, not like a human being who was part of the process. It was not an empowering experience. It should be standard protocol to explain to a patient the procedure they will be undergoing, what they should expect, and what will be asked of them.Recommendations for the nurse/technician:(1) Before beginning a procedure, give the patient a sense of WHAT the overall process will entail. Tell them how long it will take, what the different parts of the process will be, and what you will be asking them to do.EXAMPLE: This procedure will last approximately 30-40 minutes. There are two parts: I will move this ultrasound wand around your kidneys, and Ill ask you to roll over and breath in different positions so that I can access all the information we need. To do that.....(2) Give the patient a general sense of WHY you are doing what youre doing. I realize there isnt time to provide a full explanation, but a few brief statements would go a long way. Questions to answer:Why are you rubbing jelly on me?Why are you asking me to turn over?Why are you asking me to breath and stop breathing and raise my hands over my head?

They both communicated clearly about when I would receive results, and they completed the exams in an efficient manner. The whole place is clean, the mammogram and sonagrapher were friendly, professional and efficient. I was in and out in under an hour, by my standards, A+! The only tiny hiccup was the receptionist who felt the need to remind me of the policy that it is the patients responsibility to bring the prescription from my dr. to the appointment. It has been months since I was at my doctors office for my yearly checkup and didnt have the actual prescription anymore. So, this felt like a bit of a scolding upon my arrival, when Id already contacted my doctors office on my way there, to let them know that I didnt have the prescription with me. They assured me all would be fine and to just ask the receptionist to call them upon my arrival. And, well you already know the rest. I thought to myself, Really? Its that much of a problem for you to make a PHONE CALL to my doctors office for them to immediately send the prescription? And, I told her as much. That is, in my opinion, ridiculous! To stress a patient out or feel the need to reprimand us about something that is completed with a 15 second phone call. I mean what else are they there to do? Unless they have many more job duties and tasks that Im not aware of, which may well be the case, it seems so trivial to affect a patients experience during a stressful time in general and especially during this time.Other than that, excellent overall service and experience! This place is fabulous!Thank you!
