They have good doctor, but worse stuff. The stuff are rude and very impatient. I experienced the nurse who keep judge me many times based on the procedure that I have done. The was that she talking to me is like a strict teacher are talking to the students. I feel very uncomfortable, and she is not professional. Other front desk people are careless, seems like they are looking down on people who are not white even they all have colors. Waiting for almost one hour in the crowded environment where is no safe social distancing. Very disappointed.

Doctors are good but waiting over an hour in a busy waiting room during COVID is not acceptable.

I came into Dr. Dinkins office two weeks ago. Ive been struggling to get my prescription for the past two weeks. Ive come in person. Ive made calls. I just keep getting told someone will call me back with the prescription. No one has called me back or sent an email.I mentioned him to a friend. She said they had problems with him and so did her friend. Wish Id read the community board about peoples bad experiences with him before I wasted my time coming here. This is what my friend said:Ive had mixed experiences with Dr. Dinkin, bad experiences with staff. One time his resident left me almost unconscious in an exam room alone for 15 minutes, one time he listened to me and prescribed tinted glasses, and one time he didnt really help. ***** had a not great experience with him, I think she didnt look disabled enough for him to think she had problems.

Zero stars, but had to give One star in order to post.I was called by the office to reschedule my appointment (for an eye infection) because Dr. Lai (pronounced LIE) needed to change his schedule. I was told to come in the following day at 8:30am. When I said I could be there by 8:40am because my childs school was only 5 blocks away from Weill Cornell and had morning dropoff at 8:30am, I was told that wouldnt be possible because they run a very tight ship and need to keep the appointments on time (hilarious in hindsight). Instead I was told to come in at 10:30am. At 10:30am an assistant asked me to remove my contact lenses and wait in the already overcrowded waiting room. After 45 minutes of waiting in a room with no social distancing and many people coughing and sneezing, I asked someone how much longer it would be. I was told I would be next. 15 minutes later (now waiting for an hour) I complained to the front desk that I had been left for an hour, essentially blind without contacts in, and had heard 2 other patients called for Dr. Lai before me even though I had been told I was next. Finally 15 minutes later I was seen, not by Dr. Lai, but by another assistant who asked me the same questions I had already been asked when I arrived. At 12:00pm, Dr. Lai finally showed up, barely glanced at my eye, and said I should try a cold compress and Claritin. I said, Ive never had allergies and this infection has been getting worse for 3 weeks so Im concerned this is orbital cellulitis or something like that. I guess it could be that, he said, although it might be a little worse after 3 weeks. REALLY? He declined to give me any antibiotic eye drops and would only give me a prescription ointment after I complained that I needed something because this was not normal. I will never see this incompetent, dismissive doctor again and immediately made an appointment with a different ophthalmologist at a different hospital.

Similar to someone elses earlier post, I had a terrible experience with Dr. Lai. Zero interest in patient concerns. His personality and demeanor are better suited for a research role that is not patient-facing.

The best doctors but the worst supporting staff. Have to wait up to 1 hour to get through to talk to someone and they disconnected my call. This practice schedule too. many people and then there is another disaster going in the office... The receptionists are so. nasty, disrespectful...Everything is there about money... I wish these doctors work some other place .So upset and disappointed.

Ive been a patient at other well-regarded ophthalmology centers in New York City, but this one is by far the best! Ive been a patient at Weill Cornell Medicine Ophthalmology for about 3 years, and my experience has always been good. The doctors are caring and responsive, ditto for the techs. The desk staff are welcoming and efficient, and the waiting area bright, clean, and spacious. When Ive had tests, the purpose and procedures have been clearly explained to me so that I am always ready and know what to do, which gives validity to the results of the tests. I had surgery with Dr. Levine, and it was fine except for the anesthesiologist, who paid no attention at all to my concerns and fears. I explained the bad reactions I had had in the past, but he wasnt interested. End result was I was sick for 2 weeks following the (minor) surgery and vomited for days. I recommend Weill Cornell Medicine Ophthalmology - but be careful to find an anesthesiologist who is interested in patients.

I would recommend this practice and especially Dr. Erica Oltra. She took a lot of time with me and clearly explained my condition. She consulted other Drs as well. When she performed surgery on my eyes the results were like artistry. So far my results have been more than I expected which makes me totally appreciate this doctor and her skills.

My husband had eye floaters and I accompanied him to this facility. The retina doctor Dr. Gupta is fantastic and very experienced in her field. I actually had some concerns after my husbands treatment. However the patient specialist Andrea and senior manager Jose are very helpful and solved out the problems for us.

I can’t say enough great thing about Dr McMahon and Weill Cornell. They got me in immediately for a follow up appointment for a rental detachment the Dr D’Amico fixed several years prior. When we discussed that cataract I had developed, he brought me right down the hall to Dr McMahon who examined me and gave me very realistic expectations about the results of my cataract surgery. Because I had lasik performed years ago, it would be difficult to pin down exactly which lens to use and getting my vision back to perfect. He prepared me for the possibility of needing glasses. After my third follow up visit this past week, I have 20/15 vision! It was not that good before my surgery! Dr McMahon made me feel very comfortable during the process and described everything to a tee. A few days after the surgery, i noticed some floaters. When i called (on a Sunday), he told me that while this was normal, i still should come in to check it out. He arranged for a doctor to see me on a Sunday to make sure i was ok. Thank you again for giving my vision back!

Bad experience. Waited for nearly one hour in waiting room. Was examined by technician who numbed eyes, tested for tears, examined for glaucoma, and applied dilating drops. Then saw a fellow for retinal exam. Finally, I saw Dr Sippel, rated as Best Doctor, for less than 2 minutes, confirming my eyes are in healthy condition, but never discussing with me my dry eyes/tearing issue. Asked for a prescription but was advised that the mail procedure would take two weeks, as they do not have access to envelope and stamps.

I will suggest that Weill Cornell check better who are your retina specialist and maybe give them some additional training. I had a very bad experience with one of them.

Horrible experience, will never go back. Saw Dr. Lee-Kung, the optometrist. At this practice, you will be charged for your exam based off of the prescription you are given, with no forewarning. Dr. Lee-Kung told me that I would not be receiving contacts that correct for my astigmatism because it is not severe. Then, she preceded to prescribe me contacts for my astigmatism and I was charged for a premium exam. The difference between a premium exam and a normal exam is not the services rendered, but rather the prescription you are given at the end. Maybe its like this at other places too, but I think they are predators.
