I called to figure out how to go about rectifying a glitch on their website that did not allow me to pay for my son to attend their summer camp. The executive director of the YMCA had a very nasty attitude & condescending demeanor for no reason when the problem was admittedly no fault of my own. If thats how the head of management carries herself with adults, you could only imagine how she interacts with the children & how that encourages the employees she oversees to conduct themselves carelessly. I would think twice before paying $1,500 just for one month of summer camp when its managed by a woman with 0 sense of home training to conduct herself professionally & respectfully within a conversation with another adult.

Watch out for the YMCA. Its costly, and they have terrible cancellation policies. For example, I received an automatic renewal notice that said Id have to submit my cancellation request in writing 15 days before the draw date. The letter was dated only 9 days before the draw date. Great news, though--I can continue to work out for 40 more days because I cant really cancel until the following month. That would be great if the childcare was any good at all, but its just not. Half the time I show up when it opens and its already filled to capacity.

I was vacationing and seen they had decent priced rooms close to a area i could easy to n from while i was here. When i went to check in which was very late due to my flight i was told i couldn’t be checked in and i wouldn’t be able to stay on the property. They were very rude about it even before they realize i was getting i room i asked for a bathroom n i was told they were closed .. but yeah i am not from here so being out by myself as a woman tourist in the middle of NEW YORK AT 1 in the morning isn’t the brightest idea. So yeah wouldn’t recommend for tourist.

The hotel was OK. It was cheap, by the metro, and I also liked how it has saunas. Although the AC in our room barely worked and it was difficult just trying to sleep. The area was okay, a few blocks away from Central Park. Although there’s a lot of black people in this area that stare at you for being white or a tourist. Just know your street smarts, don’t talk to shady people and you’ll be fine. Would recommend for people that plan on staying a week, on a budget. Just know it’s very basic and minimal.

Great stay with friendly staff. The rooms are small, but the bunk beds were neat and the room was clean. There are shared bathrooms, but those are clean as well. The key cards, however, worked whenever they wanted to, so that may be something that can be addressed. Otherwise great stay!

Being right on top of JR Tokyo station, its a convenient 60min ride by the Narita Express from the airport. The people at the fitness center kept that place spotless. But, what really set the hotel apart was the unbelievable service. Nothing wrong with the hotel, just missing any WOW factor.

Do not stay here!! No power in the electrical outlets + no one at the front desk. When I arrived around 10:20pm on a Friday, I waited at the front desk for 20 minutes but no one showed up. I went to the security guard and she said that the front-desk employee would still be on break for another 15min. What?!Also, there was no power in the electrical outlets in my room! Either night! Unbelievable. And, I was going to a Saturday all-day event and so went out at 7:40am and the front desk was closed, so I was unable to tell anyone. Thats not that early, so theres really no excuse for the desk to be closed then.Additionally, if you like to satisfy the human desire of thirst, too bad. They offered no options for drinking water. I went down to the front desk and asked where I could find a cup for tap water and they told me Id have to go to the corner store to buy a cup. Are you kidding me?!

I didnt want to spend much money to sleep for a few hours and go out visiting NYC so opted for a place I could sleep, have a shower and go out. The staff were super amazing and nice. Yes the room was tiny, the tv was old, and the bed was small but it did the job and was a 1/4 the cost of staying in a hotel. The washrooms are shared but you get the washroom to yourself and can shower and change and it has locks. Very close to the subway.

Let me start by saying the staff were super friendly and I have no complaints about them whatsoever. However, this is by far the worst accommodation we have stayed in. The rooms are practically open to the outside, so are very noisy. The bunk beds are old, bent and broken in places. The wifi did not reach our room. Stay here if you absolutely have to, otherwise avoid.

While this place is a great addition to the neighborhood and a very positive influence on the children in the area, I feel that they could do something to change their appearance and perhaps make more of an impact in the area. Im not sure if they hold many events but they could make major impacts with helping the community to reconnect, particularly one that has issues with violence and other negative influences.

I walked in today, June 9th at 9:55am, and my presence was completely ignored due to a little gossiping session the front workers were having. I asked for information for summer camp, the young man gave me the papers and wandered off back to another conversation. When I asked about pricing, he had a straight attitude, took the papers from myHand and just shifted them back as if it was a bother to clear up my question, very unprofessional environment.

Price quality pretty good. You should not expect much comfort for a price of less than 200 euros for 5 nights. If you really look at the quality of sleeping comfort, it was downright bad. Shaky bunk beds dropped by. If you turned on the bunk bed at the top, the bed shook up and down and it looked like the bed spiral broke. It was very hot in a very small room. No water supply in the room. Everything on the walls / sockets full painted with a thick layer of paint. It smelled there. I didnt really like it. If you leave things on the bed, they will not make your bed. Cushions worthless bad. Communal showers in the corridor were fairly clean. 3 showers that were not all hot. One was just cold. The area was damp. The not fully enclosed toilets were dirty. The doors did not close properly. Are located in the same rooms as the showers. Smelly. Water around the pot. At the reception they were not really friendly and helpful. If you only have a student budget and sleep for a few nights and expect no more than it is good to do.
