Absolutely my favorite place to go. This location has a great community and the staff is really friendly. The coaches really care about training you and showing the right format. I am always pumped to go and recommend all my client to this location.

I recently went through a challenge in scheduling a freeze on my account due to an injury. I was able to get in touch with the Studio Manager Giuseppe. He was able to hear my POV right away. Cut right to the chase and help me accomplish the accommodations I needed. This was a unique situation and he knew exactly how to make me feel like a valued customer. Thank you!

I went to OTF 2x a week for about 8 years, pausing during 2020. Like a lot of people, I felt like my body aged 10 years in 2020. Once I was fully vaccinated, I restarted and became even more loyal. It took just 2-3 classes to go back to feeling my normal, youthful body. I’m definitely committed for life - I never want to go back to feeling so achy, inflexible, and old!BTW, I just started working out with a mask bc of Delta. It is NOT the big deal I thought it would be!

Be wary or newly created accounts with no profile pictures… The previous 1 star review is a sad and disgruntled ex-employee. Her work ethics were terrible and she was professionally let go. I’ve never had a problem with Orange Fitness and the new management seem wonderful.

Sadly Orange Theory Astor Place has not been the same since new management has taken over this year. Regional Manager is incredibly sexist and manipulative and has driven away ALL of the original staff from this location and the clients/family we loved.

Orange Theory Astor Place is AMAZING. The great orange theory workout is at the core but that is just the base. The facility is kept in tip top shape, the entire team is super friendly and helpful and the community at the studio is great. Run, jog or power-walk over there now and sign-up, you will be glad you did.

Orange Theory ~ one of the best workouts in the city! Grew up being an athlete and then well, life happens ... LOVE that when I walk out of the gym, I feel stronger (and happier) - no doubt, it’s HARD, but 100% worth it! If you’re on the fence, def give it a go! Staff and instructors are lovely as well - no judgements at all here!

I love this studio! The manager, Jordan, makes sure that all guests are happy, comfortable, and getting the most out of their experience. I am not shy to provide feedback on what it has been like to work out at Orange Theory Astor place, and Jordan makes himself available to listen. The workouts are thorough and efficient, and can easily be adapted. Sometimes I dont feel up to running, and there are always other options that still make me feel like my time was used well.

I preregistered for a class here at 1:45 and had a confirmation to prove it. When I arrived, the man at the front desk informed me I didn’t have a reservation and that I also needed to be there 30 minutes earlier since it was my first class. Keep in mind this was in the fine print at the bottom of an email. The employees informed me they couldn’t do refunds at the store and told me to call customer service. I did, and the guy at the front desk proceeded to ANSWER THE PHONE. Both of the workers were so incredibly rude to us and never apologized once. I will never be returning.

Today was my first day at Orangetheroy! I have not worked out in 4 years and for a person like me there wasn’t a dull moment. Fast paced, feels like a serious workout but every moment is infused with vigor and fun. I highly recommend this workout, to those who want to find out where their hearts lie.

After receiving calls from Orange Theory for months to trial it, I decided to goto the Astor place location today. I called earlier in the week to ask whether the tornado or a standard class was better for the first time and then I called again this morning to confirm I would come in today to trial and which class had space. I was told to create an account online but nothing else. At no point did anyone say by the way, you need to arrive 30 mins before the class starts to meet the instructor and learn how to use equipment. I arrived 10 mins before class to allow for any need to knows as I had researched on reddit/asked friends about the class and knew there would be a little learning with the arm band/apple watch before my first class. HOWEVER, I was rudely told, sorry, you cant attend, you need 30 mins. I tried to ask if we could do some now, before class and the rest after and they wouldnt even try to accommodate me. I also explaining that I do Barrys, crossfit, Peloton, GRIT etc regularly so am used to treadmill/HIIT workouts and they couldnt have been less interested. What annoys me the most is that at no point did anyone in my repeated calls and discussions with them say you need to be there 30 mins early. What a waste of my time! Why bother calling and talking to me on the phone so many times and not stating the obvious? worst customer experience i have ever had when trying a new workout!

I love OTF! And this facility is really nice (and new). The instructors are great and the staff incredibly friendly. The only reason I give it a 4-star rating is because the bathrooms and shower rooms are not very functional for changing. There should be a stool or bench in the shower room and bathroom so you can get dressed or have a place to put things (other than the floor or on top of the trash can). There is a single hook on the back of the doors, and some of the functionality issues could be solved with adding a few more hooks. Seems like simple fixes and I hope they solve them relatively soon.

I would give 0 star if it is an optionThis place is a SCAM. Be aware when you sign up! They will make it really hard for you to cancel the membership. Their trick is to use vague languages in the fine prints on the contract and interpret them arbitrarily. For one example, the fine print says the cancellation must be submitted in writing..but the front desk told me that I need to personally present to cancel...while the reason I wanted to cancel is that I was traveling for a long period of time. By the time I was back to the city and was present in their office, I needed to pay another month forward, because they wanted 30 days of notice.During this process, the management and front desk were as unhelpful as possible..in an ironically polite tone. But the truth is that they made numerous empty promises for following up and never returned my email inquiries. Now that I finally cancelled the membership, I am still getting harassment emails 2-3 times a week from orangetheory saying that I still owe membership fee for the incoming month!I just called the manager to complain about the emails, who again politely wished me happy holidays and said he will follow up... what a joke!

Bought a class online but was denied access to class because supposedly I needed a 15 min instruction prior to my first class. When I questioned why I wasn’t told that upon purchase of my ticket, the person told me “sorry” and “we don’t tell people about that on online purchases”. Lost the class and Uber money.

I am a full time career Stuntwoman and life long high level athlete. Orange Theory Astor Place in New York City has the WORST unwelcome nickel and dime you attitude I have ever experienced from a fitness studio.I booked my trail class then received an email asking to call to schedule a class, which I did. On the phone the employee asked if I had ever taken an Orange Theory class, and I said yes in Los Angeles 2 weeks ago. She then informed me the class would be $20 for the trail. That was ok by me, so I scheduled my class for 5:15 PM that day. However when I arrive, on time, I was encountered by an unwelcome cold employee who obviously hates her career. This employee said it would be another $5.00 for the heart rate monitor. I was fine with that extra charge even though the Los Angeles studio did not charge for this. I began to feel a little nickel and dimed at this point since this was not stated when the price was quoted on the phone but I let that go. The employee asked if Id taken an Orange Theory class, which I said yes 2 weeks ago in LA, and then she told me again that since I took a class in LA it would be an additional $5 for the heart rate monitor on top of the $20 trail class, $25 total. I agreed. After I filled out the paperwork she informed me to go downstairs to get changed and get set up with my heart rate monitor. Ten minutes before the class started I ran back upstairs to send a quick text and the same woman says oh actually the class is going to be $35 today. She went onto say because I took a class in Los Angeles she was changing my originally quoted price. The problem I have is I was very clear on the original phone call that I had taken a class in LA and then again when I arrived. Changing the price TWICE and 10 minutes before class after Ive already checked in feels completely wrong. It felt like a bat and switch or used car salesmen tactic. I argued my case politely that this should have been told to me on the original phone call or when I checked in! Then this employee calls her boss and tries to whisper into the phone that Ive already taken a class in Brooklyn and LA! I shout excuse me I have not taken a class in Brooklyn! She hangs up and I ask her why are you telling your boss Ive taken a class in Brooklyn and LA? She rolls her eyes saying this is our policy. This employee was rude and acted like Im going around Orange Theory classes trying to get a discounted class! I tell her this is their fault as I was very clear from the start and dont appreciate her acting like Im a cheap individual trying to get a discounted workout. As a woman who makes her career from my athleticism I am very serious about my workout regimen. I dont think its unreasonable to be unhappy with THEIR lack of communication and simply wanting to try out a studio before signing up monthly.Regardless of price my bad taste stems from this employee making my first time at this studio feel unwelcome and definitely not a fun environment where I want to spend 1,000s of dollars to workout. I will never go back nor EVER recommend this studio. Being warm, friendly, welcoming and apologizing for THEIR miscommunication goes a long way; something that employee still needs to learn. Those qualities in life get you a lot more than being a disgruntled employee.
