I need to warn other patients about my experience because I’m very disappointed and would hate for somebody else to go through the same thing. I had only one visit in which I ended up making my last in result of this. I saw Dr. Ciecierega to get a second opinion on my daughters case. During our visit he wrote up a list of past test results that he had wanted to review from her previous doctor that I had taken her to. As per his request I had sent him over her past tests (which I had already known the results of months prior). About a week after I sent him this information I received a large bill in the mail from Weill Cornell. Confused as to what this was for I had reached out to the number on the bill to get more information. Apparently they charged me to review it. If I was properly informed in the beginning that there was a chance I would be billed for him to review these test results I would have opted out of sending them. Why would I need to pay more money just so somebody can confirm what I had already known. I never asked for a second opinion on that specific test , what I wanted was a second opinion on her overall problem that had been occurring . I’ve been going back and forth for months with their team and wasn’t able to get any help . I had no choice but to pay this bill. I’m very upset the way this whole situation was handled and I do not think that it was fair at all . So as a fellow mother of a child that has plenty of medical bills I just wanted to share my story to warn patients to ask before they suggest to “review” something if it will cost anything before you send them anything . I would hate for somebody else to have to pay more money on something that they shouldn’t have had to pay for .

I wish I could give zero stars. Go elsewhere. While the doc was ok in person, the follow up was not only terrible, but dangerous for my daughters health. They prescribed a medication to be taken 3 times a day, which needed a urinalysis before taking and two weeks after taking to ensure it wasnt affecting her kidney function. The doctor not only didnt follow up to schedule the UA (my daughter has been on this medication for 6 weeks and its not even working), but they failed to fill out the paperwork needed for my daughter to take the medication as prescribed at school despite my FIVE emails requesting this.Additionally, when I requested to have all the records sent to a new provider to actually get my daughter the help she needs, they didnt do it despite having a signed request to do so.

Dr. Ciecierega basically saved my Sons life by having the awareness to send him for a specialized test which detected a rare condition called MALS. It is actually not even a G.I. issue but presents as one! 3 months post surgery and my Son is doing great and pretty much 100%! We are forever grateful for his intelligence and his diligence!!!!THANK YOU DR. CIECIEREGA!!!!!!!!!

Dr.C was so gentile, kind ,and knowledgeable. Our daughter has a very rare syndrome, Peutz Jeghers syndrome, that most doctors know nothing about. She was only a year old and he performed a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy on her with no complications. Most other pediatric Gastroinerologists wanted to do a full colonoscopy on her at 10 months old! She had a prolapsed rectal polyp. He was amazing! I cant thank him enough!
