Dr. Eng is very polite and has great bedside manners. He was very straightforward and seemed to know what he was talking about. If anyone asks who the best gastroenterologist is, I would gladly say Dr. Eng.

Friendly doc. thorough. Good bed side manner. Since I am also a Healthcare practitioner. re other reviews, the doctor does not choose how much to charge, the bill code and charge is set by the county and state not the doctor, so the charge to your insurance would be the same wherever you go.

A fairly good doctor with shady admin people and practice. Although I met all my deductibles and colonoscopy was covered 100% by my insurance, I was asked to pay upfront, close to $900, which was promised to be refunded once they verify my insurance. I saw about $25000.00 billed to my insurance later. I did not get refund for the upfront payment and they got all the payment from my insurance.

Without a doubt, the worst front staff of any doctor I’ve ever visited. Unresponsive, crabby, but most importantly, no follow through. The doc seemed like a nice guy, even though he gave me some sketchy info, but he is badly represented by the appt maker. She’s a hefty woman with a mean streak.Going to find another doc. Later

Unkind, lack of social skills, maybe could be a good doctor, i wont ever go back there. The guy has an aggressive approach, clueless.

I agree with the other comment that the doctor is okay, but I was asked to do 3 different exams, and even though my insurance covered much of them I got hefty bill (even with a 6 digit salary income). As the other comment says if you dont worry about the budget this place is ok, otherwise research a better place.I learned that clinics where the rent is high, Upper East Side, Chelsea/Flatiron, doctors try to charge you more with the same treatment (even within Manhattan). I usually check two or more places for the same treatment to find out less greedy doctors office because with the same treatment they ask for different price to the insurance company. ( I couldnt do it this time due to time limitation.) Also, usually the receptionist does not fully understand your insurance and its okay for them to charge you more later when the information you were told is actually not true, so please do not rely on what the receptionist tell you and read your contract with the insurance company.

The office itself is clean and my gastro exam went without any incidents. But the reception lied to me that the cost with insurance would be $0, when in a few months Ive got two bills at the amount of more then $800(!). One bill came 8 month later. Back then I was pressured to do even more exams, but fortunately I refused. The Dr. must be getting excessive kickbacks from the labs.If you dont worry about the budget this place is ok, otherwise research a better place.
