We had a video conference. He was on time, and although it was my first time meeting him, he made me feel at ease. He addressed any concerns I had and took time with me, I didnt feel rushed. He had his staff contact me immediately to make the necessary arrangements for my next visit and procedure. My only issue was not so much with the doctor, but with the staff that contacted me. I was on my way out when they reached me, they said they would try again the next day and havent gotten back to me, to arrange for a time for my procedure.

Myself and my family had been seen him about 2 decades, he first detected my mother ‘s liver cancer and about 7 years later he detected breast cancer while she was seeing him for her stomach regular procedures. My mother owes him a lot. Thank you doctor Maltz. He’s a true gentleman and true doctorI wish all doctors are like doctor Maltz.

Met for the first time with Dr. Maltz via telehealth. Was impressed by the thoroughness of his questions. He’s the first gastroenterologist to take my symptoms seriously.

I searched for the best gastroenterologist for me for over 20 years before I found Dr. Maltz. He responds quickly and thoroughly to any questions I have. Im a complicated case and he has reached out for second opinions just to make sure hes doing the best he can for me. Would recommend Dr. Maltz to family and friends.

I saw this MD last year in December due to gastrointestinal problems I had endured for about five months. He did the straight forward tests and gave me an in-depth examination and took a detailed history. After undergoing a colonoscopy he gave me the findings which was mild UC. He was very honest and explained to me that medically there is no know cause of actual treatment or diet known to treat my condition. But he explained that if I wanted he could give me a medication that would reduce or just treat my symptoms. He was honest, truthful and professional- plus he has a great sense of humor. Honesty is a rare commodity in this world.

Went to the city in search of help for a problem that had local specialists stumped. My assumption was going to see a GI at Cornell who listed 2nd opinions as a specialty would be helpful. I brought scans of several previous diagnostic procedures. Immediately Dr. Maltz took a position of prove to me you have a problem. Next it was, None of these reports indicate anything is wrong. And finally, You look healthy to me. He would not look at any of the scans (I dont read those). Considering the evaluation of scans are now outsourced all over the world and no one has any idea if the person that creates the report is engaged or qualified, why wouldnt you take the time to look? In the end, he dismissed my situation completely, said after so many tests, I have become consumed with being ill and Im influenced by the various, immaterial findings. Incredible. Retire Dr. Maltz - you already have.

The worst dr Ive ever had, dismissive, did not examine properly, kept joking and not really addressing the problem correctly or paying attention. Had to go to another dr instead and could not believe the difference.

AVOID AT ALL COST. At my initial office appointment, Dr Maltz seemed engaged and fairly competent. We scheduled a colonoscopy based on my symptoms and my age. At the moment of the procedure, while I am on the operating/procedural table Dr Malz entered the room and expressed he had no idea who I was, why I was there, he had not looked at my case file or brought it with him. I was stunned. I had an anesthesiologist and attending nurse in the room who looked just as shocked as I felt and embarrassed. He then informed me he would stipulate a specific symptom so my insurance would approve it because of my age. ?????!!!!! I was caught off guard so greatly. I already had an IV in my arm and I had just gone through 2 awful days of prep for the procedure. After the colonoscopy, he came in to speak with me with his outdoor coat. He was in a hurry, rapidly asked how I was doing, showed me four photos WHICH MEAN NOTHING when he’s rushing through without explanation only to say there was nothing wrong. But I still have the horrendous, unlivable symptoms. To which he replied, Its probably IBS. Ill see you in two weeks I am angry, disappointed, humiliated. Why even bother showing up for the procedure? Why take someone on as a patient? And Im disappointed in Weil -- why would they have this man on staff. I would highly recommend finding someone else. There have been no follow up calls from either him or his office. One might argue it is incumbent upon the patient to follow up, but who would want to after this inept, unprofessional experience. Now after a month has passed getting in to see him and finally getting the procedure, I have to start at square one.
