I wish I have read the reviews before I saw her. I had experience all of it: unethical billing practice, lack of professional curtesy, unnecessary referrals and diagnostic testing following my annual physical. What tip the point is that she refused to send my records to the surgeon before my elective surgery unless I made another appointment to see her again. I have regular annual physical at this practice and follow up with their recommendations so all my health maintenance is up to date. My last physical was in 7/2021 so I had everything ready for surgical clearance. My surgeons office contacted MOM to transferred records from my last physical. They refused saying I needed to be seen again. My surgery was scheduled for Thursday and they offered me appointment for following week. My surgery was cancelled and I ended up making appointment to speak to Dr. Julian, hoping she realizes her negligence and lack of curtesy had significant impact on my financial and time resources since other means of communications were impossible. When I arrived, front desk office said she is too busy and I have to rescheduled that appointment. I asked for office manager who asked me rudely what else can she do for me and informed me that she has 4 children and her life is busy as well.A week later I received bill for this encounter labeled : charge for missed appointment $150It seems like she will continue to practice this way since there is lack of general medicine practitioner

Once she joined the practice in the UES everything changed. She used to be more patient and thorough, the last few times I have been there I have been brushed up despite my questions and concerns. During my last physical she added something to my exam which she assured me was covered by my insurance, only to find out it wasn’t. I was left with a huge bill. When I brought the issue to their billing department they were rude, dismissive and provided zero help. I even conferenced my insurance who explained how they have billed and coded it incorrectly and they didn’t care. After I was forced to pay for THEIR MISTAKE, they also asked me to come in DURING COVID WHILE I WAS PREGNANT to get a refill of my medication (not a controlled substance). I have since switched doctors. Don’t bother this place just cares about their insurance fraud and not their patients.

Had to cancel my appt after reading how awful these reviews were and right away I was told I’d be charged. I’ve never seen a doctor with this many reviews and all about the same issue.

DO NOT GO TO DR JULIAN. I typically do not write reviews, but I feel an obligation to encourage people to find a different doctor.A few lowlights of my experience:She prescribed an incorrect prescription that also gave me negative side effects. When I went in to check on some issues, she dismissed them even when I insisted that there was a problem. Sure enough, my next doctor immediately validated my concerns and gave me proper care. She repeatedly tried to convince me to order prescriptions through some service I didnt need, and was frustrated when I didnt order through it.She was generally dismissive and rude during our appointments, would basically walk out of the room while I was mid question. Her offices told me that my insurance would cover my appointments/tests, but then charged me more money months later and said I couldnt get new prescriptions until it was sorted out.The final straw was when she changed her policy and required me to come in every THREE months for very standard prescriptions (not controlled substances). She didnt inform me about the change, so I was left without meds/a refill and had to go into her office during COVID. When I gave feedback that this policy seemed unusual and inconvenient, especially since I am in a high risk COVID category, she literally yelled at me about how doctors are losing money and I was ridiculous, clueless, and ignorant, and ended our appointment. As a young black man, I am always extremely careful to be polite and measured any time I am dealing with medical professionals in order to be taken seriously. Her reaction to polite feedback was unprofessional and deeply upsetting. After reporting complaints on these issues to Medical Offices of Manhattan, I never heard back from them. I cant speak to the quality of the other doctors there, but please do not go to Dr. Julian.

Dr Josephine Julian’s office is incredibly unprofessional. Do not go here. I had to beg her to draw my blood because of health issues I was experiencing. It turned out that I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism even though she told me I just needed to “workout more”. I also needed a refill on my medication and she refused to give it to me unless I could come into the office (this is not a controlled substance & I am currently not in NY because of COVID). Her staff is rude and dismissive. Do not go here it sucks.

I had a follow up question about the birth control this doctor prescribed. It was pretty vital — it was a yes or no question about a possible interaction with another medication that could result in unwanted pregnancy. I called the office to ask her a question that would take 2 minutes to reply to; the front desk staff told me it would cost $40 to ask! They kept saying “I guess we can leave a note...maybe.” Is it that hard to say “oh that’s fine” or “let me call in something else?” It’s astounding how some doctors, especially women, perpetuate barriers to reproductive info and care. I can’t afford this $40 2 min conversation—so I guess I’ll just knock on wood and hope I don’t get pregnant. I will never go back to a doctor whose concern with cash eclipses her concern for patient health and access to simple but vital info. I would give zero stars if I could and hope this docror seriously rethinks her approach to care.

I recently went to the Medical Office of Manhattan and had a great experience! The staff was very helpful and the wait time was very short. The office is beautiful and brand new. Dr. Julian is both professional and friendly. I never felt rushed and she really took the time to answer all of my questions. She was extremely patient and thorough, and went over my entire medial history with me. I felt right at ease with Dr. Julian and will definitely be going back to her again.

DO NOT GO HERE. Dr Julian and her office are running an insurance fraud scheme. They suggest unnecessary medical procedures; tell you they are fully covered by your insurance plan and when the insurance company denies the claim, they charge you for all of the excessive and unnecessary procedures. I got conned into a full panel allergy test. I went in for an annual and was asked if I wanted to do an allergy test. I specifically said I only wanted to do it if it was covered by insurance and Dr Julian assured me it would be. Then I got handed a bill for $500 two months later. Doctors are a dime a dozen in NYC; take your business to a reputable office that you can trust. It’s a sad world when your doctors are the ones scamming patients. Trust the reviews people.UPDATE: After this review was posted, I was contacted and received a refund.

They would charge you a so called deposit and never refund the difference between the deposit and what you should actually pay. I called many many times and no one picked up. I also called their billing office and they said they couldnt find my record, which is absurd. I dont know how they manage to keep the office run without being scrutinized.

What a ripped off! My daughter went to see her. she is a primary care physician, a family doctor. but she did the skin test which she didnt explain to my daughter. she just put it on her... and then now she billed her over a $1000 office fee. Her office failed to explain the insurance coverage to their patients. This is very bad. I would stay away from her office.

Similar to many others here, she tried to get expensive tests done that were not covered by insurance, and then charges me for it. She even charged me for a preventative annual!Stay away. It took me months of arguing to get a refund.

Do not waste time and money on her. She doesnt have enough knowledge. She literally googles about diseases in front of patient and tells you what she reads, which you already know. Her prescription was also incorrect. Even pharmacy people laughed at her. Her staffs are also not even nurses. Find a proper doctor, not her! If she causes any damages with any personal or health issue because of her incorrect treatment, it will be a legal issue. Her office also forces you to sign to keep your credit card information. If she anything does with patients personal information, it will be also definitely another legal issue.

Medical Office of Manhattan is the place to go for primary care. Dr Julian is wonderful. Made sure everything was ok. Described the procedure that I would be having done and as to why I would be getting it. She was able to do a ultrasound that same day of my visit which is very convenient. The lab is also located right next door. Awesome visit.

Dr. Josephine Julian recommends multiple EXPENSIVE tests that are not necessary. In the end, she referred me to another specialized facility to run the same test that cost 1/3rd of the price. I am not a medical professional so I NATURALLY listened to the recommendation but looking back, I completely regret agreeing to sonograms that cost about $1K each. Doctors should at least warn you of the ballpark pricing so you can think about it, especially when they recommend the same tests all day long and are fully aware of the retail price of these procedures. Medical offices of Manhattan price gauges, plain and simple (happened more than once might I add).Youre better of going to an office with one doctor you can trust and know he or she will not have you run a million and one tests to just refer you to to do the same thing at ANOTHER facility. Will not be coming back.

The expectation of a primary care provider is when the person is making an appointment to verify that the insurance is in network. Upon scheduling an appointment I was asked what insurance I had and the information for it, the appointment was further scheduled and upon arriving it was then noted that my insurance was not in network. It was a complete waste of time to arrive here not able to be seen because of the insurance not being in network. It was completely a lack of verification on the staff not to inform me when I called that I wasn’t in network saving me time and effort for commuting to this practice.

Doctor Julian is not only caring but knowledgeable. If hes not sure of something he will take the time to ask more questions or do research. He also isnt one to simply write a prescription for the rest of your life. He wants to learn what the symptom root is and not merely cover it up. I will continue going here.

Be careful about this office.Even after you tell them (in writing and face-to-face) to remove you as a patient they will pre-book your annual appointment hoping that you dont notice and miss it. They pre-booked me more than once ignoring my requests and violating my privacy.Dr. Josephine Julian is one non-caring doctor. No manners at all, and she wont see you herself more than once.I think her whole office is just an operation of collecting insurance money.

I wouldnt know what the office is like since ive been trying to contact them since booking my zoc doc appointment to confirm. Since switching from aetna to Medicaid ive noticed that many docs dont take medicaid and you get treated like youre sitting in the very back of an airplane so i always call to confirm. Their mailbox is full and if you call any other number it just rings. My appointment was today, i just got an email from zocdoc saying it was canceled. No reason, no note from the office and no phone call. I tried calling and nothing. Real professional
