Im surprised that I never knew this place existed in the middle of K-town!Very relaxing atmosphere and calm music playing in the background. The rice punch was much better than what youd get in a can, and the entire experience was very similar to what you would get in Korea!I visited earlier in the day, and the place was pretty empty. I left feeling well-rested. :) Highly recommended.

Came here on a Wednesday morning, nice and quite with soothing music, we were greeted with a warm welcome. There are 4 types of saunas but one is just a warmer open room. Spacious common area and wonderful drinks and food!!

This is a very clean and small sauna compared to the others in NJ and Queens. Best thing is convenience. Bad thing is that it is lacking key features of other saunas, but mostly is due to bad used of space. Note to owner: key changes will make this a great place and probably increased your business. The price is $50 if you walk in and $34 if you buy on Groupon (if they still have it listed). Note that if you stay past 12AM they will charge you an overnight fee. Kind of steep compared to other saunas that have way more amenities and technically are half the price specially with king spa having a shuttle just around the corner. The entrance is on the 4th floor and where the wet men area is. On the third floor you have the co-ed saunas and cafeteria and sleeping areas. My biggest issues while I visited was that the wet area has a tiny cold tub that isn’t cold at all. They have a steam sauna that is good size. Overall they have three pools; hot , warm and cold. The hot and warm pools are good size as well, but the cold is not a pool as it is smaller than a bathtub and only one person can barely fit in. The water there is lukewarm at best and really doesn’t cool you off at all. They have more space in the wet area, but it is used by a massage room that holds two people and an additional non working shower space. This is a good example of wasted space. I wish they would make the cold tub bigger and also colder. The space is there is just being waste and this I would say is like 1/3 the area just not being used. Don’t see a reason for a two person massage area and even when I go to other saunas I have never seen two guys being massaged/scrubbed at the same time (unless they are catering to couples lol)On the third floor you have the main saunas the Clay, salt and I believe the stone/jewel one. They are spacious and very nice. Would be nicer to have a timer/clock on each sauna. One issue is that on the 2 floor there is some sort of bar/club that plays loud music. I was there at 6PM and you couldn’t relax since you can hear the music and the noise from people downstairs. I can’t imagine staying overnight with the loud neighbors below. The third floor is nice and spacious, but in my opinion is not utilized well. They should consider maybe adding an ice sauna and infrared sauna. If they did this will be my go to place instead of the other saunas like king spa and definitely worth the price.

So, ok. To summarize, I was disappointed with the K-Town Sauna. Heres what to expect~The Sauna is located in Koreatown sandwiched between a throng of K-BBQ, karaoke joints, and asian super markets. Its a 10 minute walk from Penn Station, and an even shorter walk from the nearby metro stations. On my first pass down the Korean section of 32nd street, I could not find the Sauna. On my second pass I noticed the sign is placed on the 3rd and 4th floor far above street level. The Sauna can be access by entering a nondescript building (with 22 above the doorway) and taking the elevator to the 4th floor.Admission was discounted to $40 (normally $50), and the receptionist handed me a standard K-sauna wardrobe (shirt and shorts), a small towel, a big towel, and a locker number. Around the corner an attendant showed me my shoe locker and escorted me to my clothes locker. His instructions were to leave everything inside except the towels and outfit. The previous K-saunas Ive visited have unlimited numbers of towels, but I guess here you get only 1.Wearing my outfit, I found my way downstairs to the jimjilbang area. There were several tables and chairs, a dark sleeping area, and 3 hot room saunas (145 F, 155 F, 165 F). I spent some time in each hot room until I was sufficiently sweaty, and then quenched my thirst with free water. There are some couches and recliner chairs which I surveyed, and I could see myself taking a nap in the sleeping area if I had more time. Food service was also available.I next went back upstairs to experience the wet portion. In addition to the shoe locker and clothes locker, you also get a cubby right outside the bathing area to put your towel. Inside the bathing area are several showers, 2 pools (95 F and 104 F), and a steam room. The larger of the 2 pools (95 F) was surprisingly small and had a maximum occupancy of 5 people with a depth of 2 ft. The smaller 104 F pool had an occupancy of only 2 or 3 people. The size of the pools was by far the most disappointing part of K-Town Sauna. I was afraid of accidentally toe-touching the other sauna goers. There was a third pool (tentatively described as 85 F) which was empty and appeared to have algae residue around the former waterline. I spent some time in the 95 F pool but I didnt have the chance to experience the hotter one because it was full. I showered, dried off, and applied some complementary lotion. I spent a little more time in the sleeping area then left.Comparing K-Town Sauna with other K-saunas Ive been to (Wi Spa in LA, Spaland in Busan), I was surprised that the admission price was so high considering the small pools and lack of amenities. I also took notice of the Party Pool area which was closed due to Health and Mental Hygiene. The sauna itself is clearly squeezed for space, which probably limits the pool sizes and amenity options, but for 40$ you expect something grander (considering both Wi Spa and Spaland are $25!).I would say this is not the best K-sauna. If youre in the area go ahead and give it a try, just dont set your expectations high!Additional packages (body scrub, shampoo, tissue massage) were available for a fee.

I went to there in January as I was traveling in New York. When I entered the elder couple was in the reception and guided me to use the locker and I felt welcome. The water temperature in this sauna is quite comfortable have to say, though the facility is simple. But when I was ready to leave after staying for around 2 hours the receptionist changed to be a young man in a formal dress, and I was curious and asked him if re-entry is allowed (like within one session of limited time). I didnt intend do it this time as I needed to catch my flight but probably I may consider next time. I started May I know... And unbelievable the man just shouted NO! Seems like I asked a weird question and I felt so embarrassed and offended, you know some saunas in Asia allows this way. Why couldnt this man just say Sorry we dont allow in a polite way?Especially when I was sitting on the chair and putting on my shoes I saw this man greeted two white men entering the sauna in a good manner. I am an Asian and how I was feeling is really unpleasant.

I came with my boyfriend the other day and both of us were very pleased with the facility. It was very clean and the staff were all very welcoming and sweet. My boyfriend really loved the steam sauna. He said he could feel his pores open up. He enjoyed the body scrub&massage package with the cucumber mask. I really enjoyed the body scrub and massage package with the collagen mask. The food was great as well. I will definitely be stopping by again very soon.

A great place to hang out or be relaxed. I like this place. Its quiet, peaceful, and spacious. If you need a plavce to read books or focus on some work, this place is highly recommended. Its pretty hard to find a place like this in Manhattan. Starbucks or coffee shops in Manhattan are always crowded and noisy nowadays. They have food and drinks, and saunas as well.

Great experience for my first time going to a sauna in the city. Very clean and staffs were very friendly! Can’t believe a sauna like this is in the heart of Ktown! Staff explain to me that it’s a soft opening for another 2-3 weeks with the hot tube not available for use either. But well worth it cause I did the package deal that includes body scrub which I never had and my skin feels like a baby’s butt! Amazing! Also the massage was perfect without them hurting me.

Where else can you go at 10:00pm and feel as if you have slipped into another world. The setting is very tranquil and the services (massages, body scrub, etc.) are amazing. If you become too relaxed, they have a sleeping area. There are several sauna rooms and an eating area. Despite the restaurants and Karaoke bars in the building, this two floor space is very serene. Space is very clean and they provide lotions, skin toner, and shampoo as a courtesy.

I have no idea what changed after the reopening, didn’t see any changes besides more signs on all of their walls. I felt very uncomfortable with 2 of the male attendants constantly checking the shower area and sauna. It’s uncomfortable enough to be force nude to enter the area but to be under surveillance just made it worse. The staff are polite and the amenities are well kept. The price is reasonable.

The sauna is great overall with awesome amenities. The facility is very clean, fresh and new. Convinient Manhattan location. Its quiet and cozy and despite the fact that we came on Saturday it was not crowded at all. Serenity and peaceful space in the heart of New York. Unfortunately, I have to give 1 star because the personnel lacking customer service and professional skills. At our arrival the lady at front desk wasnt welcoming. I dont remember her greeting us or smiling. She rudely questioned our discount offer and showed her unhappiness that she can not charge us the higher price and would have to grant the 50% discount that we received via text message. Another reason for my low rating is that foot massage was a complete waste. The massage lady was just slightly touching and only gliding without pressing, absolutely no massage therapy skills. Terrible. Next reason for 1 star is that when I requested my shirt to be changed because mine was stink that same lady from front desk was extremely rude again. She showed how annoyed she was with my request and replied that they wash their uniform every day and continued doing what she was doing. I was shocked. I asked again if she still can exchange my shirt and only after my second insisting attempt she abruptly asked me what size. I said :medium but she angrily responded that she doesnt have medium and thrown a large to me. I unrolled the set, told her that she can have the shorts because I only need the top. The woman was mad as hell that I dare bother her and ask for a another uniform shirt because I dont like how mine smelled. Unbelievable, totally disgusting experience. Also, men and women locker rooms need extra arrow signs on the wall opposite the stairs and men one need one more right in front of the final entry door to men area. This is all I have to say. Unfortunately, we probably wont be back due to low customer service and lack of skilled massage therapists.

My boyfriend called it the oasis in middle of concrete jungle, and I called it my hometown. It did exactly look like the spa/jjimjilbang I went in childhood in South Korea - I am an immigrant from Korea in my 20’s. There is a communal shower area with hot tub as separated by physical gender where offers body scrub as comedian Conan O’Brien and Steven Yuen experienced on TBS, and steam sauna on 4th floor. After quick shower in gender separated areas to wash off body oil or dust from outside, my boyfriend and I walked down 3rd floor where three “dry” hot rooms - temp between 142 - 160 degree - communal entertainment with TV and comfy chairs, food court, massage and aroma therapy, and gender separated sleeping area.Because the facility fully noise proofing from busy ‪32nd street‬, we were able to enjoy reading our books and quick nap in order to detoxicate from holiday hangovers and tiredness by sweating out in dry hot rooms and relaxing for 5 hours with only general admission! It may not be as you expect outdoor jacuzzi or warm swimming poor, but very casual atmosphere and decent Korean drink and food - Sikhye and others - it was perfect as easygoing date location for couples or as family and friends going out place (food service will be charged separately when you leave from the facility) Though it would be not great for people who are extremely concern being naked front of strangers to shower or hot tub, or who doesn’t like to follow spa rules to keep hygiene for others like no personal swimming suit or clothes in hot tub, or have hard time to separate from their phone on hot tub - No phone please in shower place, or are uncomfortable with “communal” space! Also, their customer service was present and efficient, especially with Manager Brian when there was an issue raised.I definitely go back when I have stressful day or when I miss home. I highly recommend to all my friends who I care.

I rate a 3 just because its small inside the sauna area they only have 3 tubs hot warm and cold and also the steam sauna what is missing is the dry sauna. Its nice and clean environment I give them that. I wish they could have more sauna activities like the bade pool with the water jet massager. Now as far as the coed room its nice and clean too however normally it suppose to have 6 sauna rooms. They dont have the cold sauna. They only have 3 plus the resting room.

Ive been looking for a spot in NY that has the quintessential jimjilbang atmosphere, and the newly opened K-Town Sauna is just the ticket! A small, well chosen, well kept number of baths and sauna rooms, a reasonably priced and excellent scrub/massage, a lovely red clay sleeping, and very tasty snacks. Smaller and nicer than Spa Castle or Fountain of Youth, also way easier to get to than Flushing. Ill be back. Only complaint, which is the same of all jimjilbangs, is that the largest size of shorts is way too small - please offer some bigger shorts.

I cant say how they food was because another customer had to help me find someone because it was ghost town. When we got ahold of a staff member, they said no food because the cook was sleep! At 530pm on a Wednesday at a 24 hour spa?! Additionally, they didnt offer many beauty products post sauna (lotion, cream, toothpaste etc) I will say the actual space is neat and clean and the scrub is PHENOMENAL. I guess Jeju in Atlanta has me spoiled but in my opinion, K-Town was okay at best.

First time to NYC from Nashville. I am not new to the Korean Sauna scene. I have been to King Spa and Spa Castle in DFW as well as Jeju in Atlanta. I pre purchased admission off their website. I got in on a Monday afternoon, got to the spa and the doorman told me they where closed. I went to King Spa for the night, called K-Town on Tuesday and they told me they where open from 12-Midnight. I asked them about 24/7, which was listed as hours. Their response was, not today. I ended up spending another night at King Spa and 4 hours Wednesday evening at K-Town. It was a ghost town which was nice!! Only one whirlpool had water in it, though the jets did not work. They gave you 1 towel and had an attitude when I asked where the smoking area was, No smoking, this is a health spa. He quoted NYC regulations and told me I wasnt allowed to go downstairs to smoke outside, I raised enough hell he finally let me. What kind of jjimjilbang, tells you, you cannot even go out to smoke?
