Dealt with online service from 233 Spring Street, 6th Floor East, New York City, NY 10013. Great concept and sample products seem to be decent quality. Their systems, procedures and requirements are not designed for the customer. I canceled my order. You can not do business unless you share your camera access with the company or travel to an optician for a PD measurement. This PD measure can be done at home as advertised by EYEBUYDIRECT and others. Vendors who use the take it, or leave it approach just dont get it. Ill buy elsewhere.

Warby Parker is hit or miss. When they get it right, its fine. Thankfully, the exchange program is generous. For progressive lenses, I ordered mine online. Upon receiving it, it was all out of whack. Optician at grand central said that I should always get progressives measured. Well, thats fine and all, but that was never mentioned when you order online. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing a lot of the times. Some of the associates here are quite helpful, and some, not so much. Like I said, consistency at WB is till somewhat lacking across the board.

I couldn’t understand why the ratings were so low for this location until I visited it. I just wanted to get my WP glasses tightened because the screw is a little loose. They told me they won’t have a staff member present for another hour. This is NYC people got places to be, therefore I didn’t get my glasses tightened. I haven’t had this issue at any other location. I think it stems from the fact that it’s a tiny little location with only a few staff members working. The staff were nice and helpful but if I can’t just walk in to get my glasses tightened then the location needs to make some changes. My recommendation is if you need to go to WP try to go to a bigger location not this one.

I had a very good experience in the store with a very personable manager who helped me choose two pairs of glasses. Unfortunately things went downhill from there. I was assured that the store would contact my eye doctor for the prescription; sure enough, I got a call from the doctor that week asking me if they should send in the prescription. A week and several emails/phone calls later, WP still claimed not to have received it. I received an email from them saying the doctor didnt have a prescription on file, which is simply untrue. After a frustrating phone call with a team member who rather unhelpfully suggested I physically go to the doctors office to get a written prescription and drop it off (easily a half-days undertaking), I called the doctors office and asked them to send the prescription to the fax number provided again. Four days later, WP still claimed they had not received it. At that point I canceled my order.Granted, its unclear whos at fault—the WP store or my eye doctor—but if theyre going to promise the ability to handle processing prescriptions, it seems to me they need to devise a workable approach to that instead of attempting to shift the burden to the customer. I can also say my customer service experience on the phone was sub-par, at least with the first 2 out of 3 representatives that I spoke to. I find it frustrating that your call is routed to a central office and you cant talk to a representative at the actual store where you purchased the glasses. Clearly something is getting lost in communication.

I own three pairs of Warby Parker items, and I love them all. Every time I come into this location, the staff is super friendly and attentive. Its a busy spot, but they handle it well. Ive recommended service to friends and family, and theyve experienced the same. Love the location and the company!

I was told the glasses would be shipped within 10 days of my order. They were shipped 18 days after my order. I was told that they would expedite the shipment because of the delay. They then refused to expedite shipment. The eyeglasses are now unaccounted for somewhere with USPS. A Warby Parker representative told me that they will replace the glasses if lost, but they also told me theyd expedite shipping through UPS. I anticipate it will be hours on multiple phone calls for them to honor the replacement. I thought Warby Parker had a good reputation, but I dont see how that would happen given how hard they struggle with the basics.

Researched the glasses before I arrived at the store. Showed them a list of what I wanted to see and when I made my decision, it took less than 10 minutes to measure and enter my order. Order arrived at home in the time frame they said it would. Excellent experience and also, love the fact that there are no glass counters here. You are free to try as you please. Modern looking store is also a plus.

Worst counter service!! I visit this grand central location to pick up my glasses and a guy who took care of me was nightmare. He supposed to adjust the frame to fit my head. We go back and forth to adjust the frame and he seemed careless. He gave me a attitude that I’m asking him too much even glasses doesn’t fit perfectly. I felt disrespected and he made his own judgement that it looks perfect. Now my glasses isn’t fit right and I’ll return it anyway. Great product $ fair price however, Warby Parker, you guys need to train your employees specially who work at the counter. I felt that I already paid the glasses and after that you don’t even care if it fits to me or not.Thank you. I’ll ask for refund and not coming back anymore :(

Place is clean and the selection is on par with the other Warby Parker stores Ive visited. Service was pretty poor, though. I wanted to ask the staff about options for high prescriptions, since I was concerned about the lenses fitting properly. The first person I talked to kept turning away and interrupting our conversation to welcome other guests who were walking into the store, even though I clearly had more questions. I tried talking to someone else, but he also gave similarly terse responses. The store wasnt even that busy at the time. What I wanted was some firsthand account of fitting frames with high prescriptions. I assume these people have been working there for a while, and have seen how well/poorly the frames work with prescriptions over -8. How thick would the lenses be? Do they fit inside the frames I was interested in? Which frames would they suggest? Have other customers run into difficulties with this?Instead of offering me any personalized advice, they just brushed off my concerns by saying that there is a 30-day refund period if I wasnt happy. While the safety net is nice, I would rather get enough information to make the right purchase the first time around. The staff at this store either dont know this information, or dont care enough to help me out. I guess Ill check out the SoHo stores to see if they have better service...

Staff is great and very helpful. The problem is the product quality. Less than a year out owning my Gilbert framed readers and the lenses have so many micro-scratches and random mottling that they are fogged almost in the middle. They were strangely difficult to keep clean from the beginning. Thankfully these were only readers, so not a major investment, but still disappointed. My 4 year old Duane Reade cheap-o readers that I basically toss on the desk and throw in my backpack, are virtually scratch free and in great shape. Definitely a problem with WP lens quality.

Dont buy at Warby if you have a high prescription for your glasses- they have serious quality control issues cutting and fitting high prescription lenses (loose lenses, improperly cut, etc). If you have a really low prescription warby could be great for you but otherwise i suggest you look elsewhere or buy the frame only and get lenses at a more professional shop with real eye doctors.

So we ordered two pairs of glasses. One of them arrived so woefully out of shape that when you put it on one side was 3 inches higher than the other. How anyone could have mailed this out to a customer, I dont know. Anyway, today I trudged through the snow to bring it to the store at Grand Central, which is open till 8 p.m. according to the website. When I got there at 5:15 I was told that they were closed even though I saw several customers inside. They refused to take my glasses and adjust them and told me I should come back tomorrow. Of course, they couldnt tell me if they would even be open tomorrow but suggested that I plan on trudging through the snow to find out anyway. Why I couldnt leave the glasses there and have them adjusted when the optician arrived, I dont know. They refuse to do this. The product aside, Warby Parker exhibits some of the worst customer service imaginable!

I attempted this place two times, one where they said nobody was there for my eye exam after I had called and asked prior to wasting my time going all the way there and was told yes, we do eye exams. Then I attempted a second time for my boyfriend went to set up an appointment for him for his eye exam and new glasses and the guy said we never did eye exams here, they need to get it together. They look like all they do is hang out and they’re not too welcoming to their customers, the staff looks clueless when you ask a question

Incredibly seamless process of selecting, buying, and shipping glasses. Showroom had a great selection, and once I picked out a frame on my own, one of the salesmen (Sabeen, I believe) helped me finalize the purchase right from his iPad. I selected regular shipping, but got my pair much earlier than expected!Arguably one of the best retail experiences Ive ever been through.

Just went to this grand central store to adjust my new glasses! This tall black woman was so harsh to my glasses, I just felt that she was almost going to break it in the next second. When I got home and put my glasses on a flat table, the two arms are not even balanced!!! One side of it is so much higher than the other, causing so much discomfort after I wear them for a while. Wish I could attach a picture of it. A bad experience on holiday season.A good quality eye glasses company, but you should really hire someone that is professional in adjusting the eye glasses! Btw, she also just leaned to the side and seems like in a bad mood of talking, not friendly. She nearly ruined my glasses, now I just don’t feel like putting it on after seeing what she does to it.

Three for the initial experience but the story gets better read to the end!!! I would like to start this off by saying that my wife and other family members wear Warby and love the glasses. Finding out that I now have to start wearing glasses was a surprise, but I figured hey Warby Parker has got me covered. I dont think I have been proven wrong like this in some time. The fact is that I am a larger man with a Large head, this is true when it comes to hats and sunglasses period. My first visit to the GCS store I was greeted but not helped in any way. and when the employees that did try to help noticed that my selection would be a challenge they all seemed to just walk away. A selection was made and the glasses were not the right fit when they arrived. I was planning to return them and write off WP all together. In comes Tyler. He was polite, intelligent, and very caring. I walked around the store angry because the girl at the front listened to my concerns of reselecting and kind of just shrugged me off with the generic well these are the sizes we have. try some more on and maybe you will like something else. This angered my wife and I because we are looking for professional help and we were just passed along. Spoke to 2 other associates inside of the store tried on 4-5 pairs with each of them and it seemed like I was a simple waste of time to them. Tyler, on the other hand, talked things over with me and my wife and was able to creatively suggest we try the sunglasses frames and request they be made into glasses! A Brilliant idea! After speaking to 5 associates total in 3 visits TYLER was the ONLY one creative enough to think outside the box, and apparently the only one that knew that Barkley Wides are the only large frame the company carries. The reason for this review is to recommend that Tyler is recognized for his outstanding work. I work in the city and will stop by to check that he was. I hope to hear some positives from your company about employees like Tyler.P.S. Thanks to this experience I am actually ordering 2 more pairs of these glasses one sunglass one transitional and these with the plain old prescription.

Every single pair of glasses here had plastic frames. Waste of my time going here, as I have no interest in plastic frames, and if you want metal frames too you should look elsewhere. Also, very poor selection for big & tall. Even though I did not want plastic frames, I tried a few, and none were even close to being big enough for someone with a large head (and yes, I tried the ones labeled wide).

Ive used Warby Parker now for my last three pairs of glasses and one pair of sunglasses. I love the try on at home feature. I recently moved from single vision to progressive lenses and was shocked by how much the glasses cost in the store for a product that was subpar. I was getting quotes of upwards of 750 bucks for my lenses with the transition feature and frames. AFTER insurance! I had previously had a pair of sunglasses from WP that i loved and really wanted them as my regular glasses. I spoke with someone online at WP and all she could say to me was yes. the sunglass frames were available as progressives with the photochromic lenses. the price was $395 before insurance (which i had to mail in because WP is considered out of network). I needed to go into the store to actually try the frames on and order them because it was a special request. But she assured me I could get any frame I wanted with any lenses (as long as the frames could hold the thickness of the lenses). She really wanted me to be a happy customer and understood that glasses are something you wear daily and you should love them. The salesperson at the store could not have been better! I wanted to see what the sunglasses looked like without the tinted lenses; she popped the lenses right out and helped me decide which color looked best. She measured me right there, took my prescription and voila the order was complete. She also wanted me to be a satisfied customer and you could tell she stood behind the product. The only downside was it took two weeks to get my glasses because they were a special order. However the tracking system for the delivery is accurate and they send you text messages if you want. All in all WP made me very very happy. I was bummed i was going to have to break the bank for glasses i wasnt in love with. But with WP, i got an awesome pair of glasses that i custom made for a reasonable price. Well done! I cant recommend them enough!!!
