I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Melnick. Because I was born without a thyroid gland, I’ve had symptoms my whole life. He is the first doctor in 29 years to look at my life and my symptoms, not just the numbers from blood work. For the first time, I have energy and feel like a normal human!

After seeing several doctors and endocrinologists, I got worse and worse, but one decided to put me on armour thyroid which helped a little. However, what I didn’t know at the time was that although I finally had the right medication I was grotesquely under dosed (by 270mg). I decided my last stop would be Dr. Melnick. I honestly had no hope that anyone could fix this and help me feel like a human. I thought my first visit would be the same as all the other doctors that failed me. I was pleasantly surprised. He took one look at me and could see how sick I was. By this point I was so sick that I decided it wasn’t worth living with such a poor quality of life, but Dr. Melnick changed that thinking on my very first visit. After meeting him I instinctually knew he could help and would help. Dr. Melnick was amazing. He immediately increased my dosage and began working with me increasing my dose based on my symptoms, until we achieved my optimal dosage. He did not dose solely by lab results. That, in itself, is amazing. The change in how I feel is mind blowing. The change in my energy levels is wonderful. The brain fog has lifted and my brain actually works, my bones are strong and my hair has grown back, including body hair. My nails are strong again. I actually feel rested after sleeping only seven hours. And I can wake up and actually function. No more sitting around for five hours trying to wake up. I have lost 80 pounds and there is no longer any edema. My blood pressure is once again normal. I feel like myself again. It took six months for Dr. Melnick to find my optimal dose, and about a year of being on my optimal dose to heal all the damage years of poorly treated hypothyroidism has done to my body. I must say Dr. Melnick saved my life, he gave me back my quality of life. I love his patience and understanding as well as the fact that he listens and cares how you are doing. I cannot thank Dr. Melnick enough for without his expertise, I surely would have committed suicide because I had no quality of life due to grotesquely under treated hypothyroidism. I have a long history of Hashimoto’s (an autoimmune thyroid condition) and it wasn’t until I met Dr Melnick that I felt truly heard and understood. He is very knowledgeable and a truly caring Dr. I’m so grateful to have met him, and after so many years of feeling sick, I can now say I feel well, stable and so happy because I’m pregnant.

Terrible, rude staff. Dr. Melnick is nice but his staff is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. You get diagnosed with a thyroid problem, then even in a pandemic you are forced to make appointments to renew your prescription, which is apparently a lifelong commitment. So unless you pay for these constant visits you cant get your medication renewed. That seems like a bit of a racket to me.

I have been seeing Dr Melnick for several years for thyroid disease and o have yet to find any other doctor who “listens” to me and what my body is saying. He stays on top of all blood work, while at the same time, paying attention to your individual symptoms. My thyroid was removed due to papillary thyroid cancer. Since that time, I gained 100 lbs, had sleep disturbances, extreme thyroid fatigue, my body temp would sometimes be as low as 95.8, my feet and hands were always cold, I was losing my sense of smell and taste, my skin was dry and flaky, the brain fog was problematic, since I am a teacher. I feel very luck to have found Dr. Melnick. I have been seeing Dr. Melnick for about 4 years after having a partial thyroidectomy. He was able to determine what I needed based off of my blood work and how I felt. The appointments are always very late

I am so very thankful for finding Dr. Melnick - what a blessing! I have tele-sessions with him by phone since I live so far away. He ordered my blood tests, got the results, and then consults with me - he is always on time. He is compassionate, truly listens, and has helped me with my thyroid problems of Hashimotos when NO other doctor had. He takes action, makes his recommendations, and supports my learning. I am finally feeling better - I had been in so much pain from inflammation that I couldnt figure out, even with my life-long passion of health. With the natural thyroid medication and following his advice I have more energy than Ive had in years, and am even beginning to lose weight once again. I cant begin to say how very hopeful I now am because of this man and his knowledge of the thyroid. For me, he is a lifesaver. Updating to 1 star.I was reprimanded for being 20 minutes late once, even though, I consistently wait 45-60 minutes every single time I am there. He is overbooked and thus, doesnt give as much attentive care to each and every single patient.I came to several appointments, waited for 45 and had to leave back to work because who has 2 hours to spare in the middle of the day?! I’ve never experienced anything like this before in any other office. Since I had to keep rescheduling appointments at some point they refused to refill my medication unless I came in OR had a virtual visit with him for $200 out of pocket.

I have gone to Dr Melnick for around 4 years now.

My story with Dr. Melnick starts more that two years ago. He consulted with me about my primary health issue of ulcerative colitis. I had suffered with it for 15-20 years. The tests he ordered showed I had chronic thyroid disease and hypothyroidism.I began a daily dose of thyroid medication and this has been a life-changer for me. No more episodes of UC. No more fear of eating the wrong food that will trigger an episode.If you have seen something on TV or read an article about the importance of good thyroid function, I recommend a consultation with Dr. Melnick. With testing, he can get a true picture of your thyroid function.The quality of my life is so much better because of Dr. Melnick, and I cant thank him enough for that gift.

Be prepared to wait at least an hour every time you come for a visit. Although Dr. Melnick shows concern for his patients wellbeing, his office shows no respect for their time. I had an appointment today at 5PM. I showed up on time. It is now 6PM and I still have not been seen. There are two people ahead of me still! Someone who has an appointment schedule after me (5:30) was seen before me because she showed up 1 minute before me. It’s very frustrating as I visit the doctor every 3 months and experience the same thing every time no matter what time of day I come.

After seeing several GYN, I was finally treated properly by Advanced Fertility Services. The staff are awesome and friendly. The doctor has the best bed side manner that i have ever experienced. I highly recommend this place to all women!!

I went there in the Mid 90s to do IVF. I was told I had 21 good eggs, however when my eggs were fertilized, I was told it was 12. When I did the IVF procedure the first time while I was pre-drugged, papers were brought in for me to sign. I feel like my eggs where stolen. Has anyone else experienced this? Its been over 20 years and I feel like Ive been robbed.

Please be aware. Although I am grateful that Dr. Melnick took my subclinical thyroid condition seriously, he kept increasing my dose to astronomical rates instead of looking further into why my thyroid was still so low. I wound up hospitalized with a tsh of 0.01 and toxic t3 levels from his dose. Turns out several underlying gut infections were majorly contributing to my thyroid condition. Instead of being on 4 grains of armour Im now on 1/4 of a grain plus 88 levothyroxine. This seems to be better for me. He does care but proceed with caution.

THE SERVICES AT THE CLINIC ARE GOOD; HOWEVER THE INFORMATION AT THE CLINIC AND OVER PHONE ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. STAFF MEMBERS NEED TO BE AWARE OF THE PROCEDURES OF THE CLINIC BEFORE GIVING WRONG INFORMATION TO PATIENTS. SO PLEASE PREPARE YOURSELF IF YOU GET OVER CHARGED OR GIVEN WRONG INFORMATION. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

Dr. Hugh Melnick met me as a human being, not merely a collection of complaints, symptoms and blood results. His compassion was apparent when, due to pain, I had trouble bending to pick up my bag, and picked it up for me with some kind words. Dr. Melnick was the only doctor who correctly diagnosed my hypothyroidism. I’d tried numerous other doctors, including a holistic health physician; but despite my obvious suffering, they always read my blood levels as in the normal range and did nothing for me. I’ve had untreated hypothyroidism for close to three decades! Due to his experience and expertise, Dr. Melnick instantly recognized my suffering when he read my answers to his very detailed symptom questionnaire. He backed up his diagnosis with extensive blood testing; and began treatment immediately. My symptoms were: exhaustion from doing very little; aches and pains; no “get up and go;” no energy to do anything; foot cramps; weight gain and depression. Within about a week and a half to two weeks, after starting Dr. Melnick’s prescription of Armour Thyroid, the aches and pains were gone, I was more alert, starting to walk a lot more. After 5 weeks, I’d lost 8 pounds and began a massive decluttering of my apartment. But mainly, I began to feel joy at just being alive, because my body was finally receiving what it needed. I was a patient of Dr. Vasilios Goudas as a recommendation of a doctor friend. We asked her for the best and he was recommended. Me and my husband trusted the doctor and his office staff during our process of getting pregnant. I was of the age of over 40 at the time so you know the success rate was told to me as almost non existent but we still try with the traditional process of insemenation with no luck. Than I was sat down with Dr. Goudas and was told I would never get pregnant with my own egg to consider a donor egg as it’s my only opprontunity of having a child. As he tears pour form my face I told the doctor NO! Well to make a long journey very short I am sitting here with my biological two month old daughter. This review is not to bash this clinic or doctor but to give hope to any woman that traditional insemenation or ivf may not be your way of getting pregnant so do not settle for one doctor opinion and explore other avenues. My Dearest Dr . Melnik . You are G-Ds sent. Over 23 years of  thyroid issues and then having  thyroidectomy from papillary cancer. And never feeling the way a human being deserves and should feel .You gave me my life back . You are truly a concerned endo and now also treating my entire  family as well. SYPMTMS first and labs last. Is your moto. MUSIC TO MY EARS. You are a breath of fresh air when you tell me you are NOT concerned with TSH. When all the years of my medical care I kept hearing you are fine your TSH levels are perfect. They would only test FT4 and TSH. I never heard of FT3, RT3 and all the other lab work that are markers for thyroid well being that you test.  No. I was not fine. Having constant heart palpitations, high blood pressure, weight gain, hot flashes, feeling always edgy, no energy, brain fog, muscle cramping, joint pain, insomnia, crying for no reason . No I dont call that being fine. Treating TSH and lab paper is not Dr Melnicks way. His first question after a warm hand shake and warm smile  after you enter his office is HOW ARE YOU DOING AND FEELING? He listens intently to all my symptoms and comes up with protocols and together we come to a decision to treat me optimally. Yes Dr Melnick involves me in decision making. My only regret that I have, is that I didnt have Dr Melnick twenty three years ago to  treat me. I would have not had to go through tough and hard times that I did. I could only DREAM of an endo like Dr Melnick and now my dream has come true.
