Best of one of the last “non chain”, independent pharmacies. Proprietor greets you by name, gives you personalized service, and always goes the extra mile to assist you in your medical, personal, etc., needs! His longevity speaks for itself.

Ivan is the BEST pharmacist - a real old school, know and care about your customers kind of man. He called me after surgery to make sure I was ok and to make sure I understood my medications. He makes good OTC recommendations. Everyone in the shop is kind.

Not sure what I did to Ivan, but he doesn’t like me.One time I asked for two medications, he got annoyed and said one at a time. Refusingto look at me.Next time I asked for one, he stepped away 5 feet to retrieve, came back and I asked for the other and then he asked me why I didn’t ask for both at once, all while refusing to look at me again.Short, unpleasant, I tried. Good luck, dude.

Ivan, the pharmacist, deeply knowledgeable, personifies the long term relationships and care that define a neighborhood. His medical advice is excellent, the auxiliary products he sells carefully vetted, hes moral enough not to sell cigarettes(!) In recent years hes added an enticing selection of choice childrens books, puzzles, and stuffed animals. Most of his clients, understandably, remain with him for decades, eschewing the generic drug chains that pop up on every corner.

Ivan is a fabulous pharmacist who will take as much time as you need to review medicines or help you find what products you need.

Neighborhood gem! I adore this place. Old school amazing Pharmacy where they know me when I walk in. Great products on sale including toiletries, home goods, and toys for kids.

My family used to go to a closer pharmacy, but after one experience with Ivan, we permanently switched to him. I quickly figured out why it was such a better place: the man that the store is named after actually works there. My mother had a prescription for low-dose oxycodone (five tablets of 5mg), but our regular pharmacy had an issue with the insurance company or something and didnt fill the prescription. I went to Ivan to see what he could do. He said that we could fill it without going through the insurance company if my mother could not wait. He only charged $11 (the other pharmacy wanted $18) and filled it on the spot.He also has a great selection of educational books and toys and creative art projects for kids. I do all my kid-gift shopping there. I highly recommend shopping for your Toys for Tots there.My only complaint is that if the stated hours are correct, I wish he opened at 8am instead of 9am. He should really go after the pre-work crowd.

Ive gone to Ivan since I was a little girl. Im 28 now and I have traveled from 14th street when I moved out of my moms house and I still travel to ivans now that Im all grown up and living near Columbia. They are always nice, professional and carry the best drug store products. if you forgot what the doctor told you, ivan will know what your medicines are for, have them in stock and make sure you are getting the best generic or brand name medications.i know i sound like an add but it really worried me that someone posted a negative review for him, he doesnt deserve that. I really envy anyone living walking distance to him, i dont believe anyone could have a bad experience there but if they did it must have been a mistake.

I have served as a physician on the upper West Side of Manhattan since 1987, during that time most of my patient used Ivans Pharmacy. He was extremely friendly, cooperative and helpful. His customers including myself continued to use his service even though he could not accept their insurance. My 98 year old father continued to use Ivans services even though he lived in New Jersey. I have continued to use and to refer to Ivan even after my retirement, and move to Panama City Panama. I can think of customers who come back to Ivan from as far away as Hawaii. Ivan the pharmacist refused to fill my prescription because he said he wouldnt make enough money on it. I have never patronized him since plus I think this must be unethical our maybe illegal.

Good service but doesnt open on time. Had to wait several times and up to 20mn in the morning for the pharmacy to open.

Nice, knowledgeable people and great prices keep Ivan in business as faceless chain drugstores threaten to take over the neighborhood.
