I love Dr. Lodah and Pura! Staff are responsive by email and it’s easy to fill prescriptions. Dr. Lodah has a great approach - he has a way of making you feel optimistic, and he makes plans to actually solve problems that you may have resigned yourself to just living with. I always leave feeling energized. I’ve never had any issues with wait time or logistics. I’d recommend him to everyone.

I would not recommend Pura dermatology, the front desk staff was hostile in their welcome and I felt profiled as a black woman when I was summoned to the front desk to pay my $20 copay prior to my visit. The Drs attendant provided me with a very vague prescription (if you can call it that) which mostly included their own products. The one product that was not theirs did not come with a specific brand recommendation, which is confounding considering how many products there are on the market and how greatly quality varies. The visit itself felt rushed and although Dr. LODHA was pleasant enough, the emphasis seemed to be on selling me their products with little care given to providing me with detailed information on their product recommendations e.g. specifyibg a brand for bakuchiol or letting me know that their pigment corector was incompatible with salycic acid which is the cleanser I use and showed to them. Front desk staff need training on customer service and a better grasp of basic skin care knowledge to be able to answer simple questions or recognize when prescribed products are their own. Overall I would not recommend.

Second time there, it’s been a positive experience. People go out of their way there it seems. Sometimes I’m tough to please. Everything I could say would be positive.

DR. Lodha is great. His staff and the office are a mess. I ordered a face wash, 11 days ago. No tracking, no update so I phone the office. I am promised 2 call backs, nothing. In totality, this leaves a poor taste in my mouth as these products come from this office. You can not simply do your job as a derm and the front office staff, and lab slack on the 50%. That is unacceptable. We live in NYC not small town America, a good derm is a dime a dozen as well as a competent communicative office staff.

Great Doctor, scheduled a month prior to visit and it was definitely worth it. He doesn’t push medication on you and rush you out the door like many doctors do. Takes his time and treats you with the best and most natural way possible. 100% recommend!!

I have been very happy with Dr. Lodha for over four years. Dr. Lodha is very knowledgeable and has greatly helped me with my adult acne and provided some aesthetic procedures. I have been going to Pura Dermatology and seeing Saurabh Lodha for a few years and have yet to leave a review. I guess I’m bad at them. But he deserves the best of reviews I could give. The office itself is always efficient. You ALWAYS feel taken care of. And they are always friendly. Dr. Lodha is the kindest, most patient, and knowledgeable Dermatoligist I’ve ever been to. The results are always fantastic, and I couldn’t recommend this place more. I’m just sorry it took this long to express how I felt.

Ive been seeing Dr. Lodha for 6 years now. Hes a great dermatologist who take the time to listen, asks questions, and wants to make sure Im happy with my results. I recent took my 4 year old daughter to see him and he was able to treat molluscum around her eye. He did a quick shave biopsy and was so good with her. No tears!

Great care! I was recommended Dr Lodha by a friend and I would recommend him as well. The samples of products he gave me really helped with my dermatitis and made it disappear. After I had another flare-up a year later, he was helpful in discussing further steps/an adjusted treatment plan. Was honest about expensive prescriptions and was very helpful in working on a cheaper treatment plan since I am paying out of pocket. Would recommend him to anyone!

I was referred to Dr. Lodha by a colleague years ago and I am SO grateful because he is simply the best in his craft. I chose Pura Dermatology because it was close to my home. I’ve been a patient here for a few years. Everyone in the office is super friendly and helpful. The doctors will let you know what is and is not covered by insurance. I have a family history of skin cancer and the office is great about reminding me to do my bi-annual checks. Any moles I have had removed Dr. Lodha has done a great job and minimal to no scaring. Ive had issues with my skin for quite some time and never got myself to a dermatologist until things got very uncomfortable for me. Not only was Dr. Lodha able to fix the issue I went in for, I also discussed my long term battle with occasional acne / scarring and he was so empathetic and knowldgeable about the matter and invited me to try different medications that tailored to my budget. His staff is professional, kind and welcoming. They wrote down and detailed every single thing discussed during my consultation, offerred pharmaceutical services that offerred better pricing medication and answered every single one of my questions. Please give Pura Dermatology a try as everyone has different skin and different experiences. Dont let one poor review stray you away from having amazing skin! PS: Dr. Lodha is the absolute SWEETEST!

Theres really not much to say about this place other than the reception area is okay. But once you interact with the doctor, you feel like you are talking to a car salesman. he will throw everything at you, including some medical delivery service. He is definitely trying to push his products like others have said and he doesnt really understand skin care.

The appointment felt very rushed, I felt talked at vs talked with. I didn’t feel listened to nor did I feel that my concerns were taken seriously. I wasn’t asked about the products I currently use. I felt that I had to listen and I couldn’t ask questions. It felt that it was assumed that I knew nothing when in reality I had a lot that I wanted to ask and say. I also feel that your hours are very inconvenient for someone with a normal 9-5 M-F schedule.

I’m always pleased with my visits. The doctor and staff work hard to make you feel comfortable. The doctor is knowledgeable, and it feels like he takes time to train his staff. The office is clean, and billing is never an issue. He makes you aware of all of his services and products, but never pushes any of them on you. My favorite thing? They respond to emails! It’s rare to find an office you can communicate with during the day when you’re busy. It’s a win to find someone, using my union insurance, that’s this great.

Front desk is bad about calling back and delivering messages, but the medicinal professionals are all great. Overall very good experience.

Best doctor ever! Knowledgeable, friendly, gentle... all in one!

The first two appointments were fine.But on a third one, I got a really weird experience with Pura Dermatology.1. Their administrative staff didnt send me the bloodwork form on 7/24 as they promised to (there is an email as a proof of this fact.) They sent it only a month later, on 8/27, resulted in:– me having a meaningless appointment on 8/27 just to learn that they forgot to send the form;– me taking an unplanned day off on 8/28 in order to make the urgent bloodwork prior to the scheduled treatment date.2. After I did the bloodwork and notified them about the results being ready (8/31), they didnt answer any of my emails. When I called (on 8/31 and 9/1) the person who was answering the phone lied to me (twice) – promised to call me back the same day and they never did.I was scheduled to start the treatment on 9/1, but as a result of their staff actions (or lack of them), I wasnt able to. Likely, now I have to wait 30 more days to start this process all over again (including the new bloodwork and appointments which arent free.)No one contacted me regarding the next steps or regarding how they are going to fix their mistakes.

This practice exceeded my expectations immensely. Was really nervous to go to a new dermatologist, but mine is really far and it gets tiring traveling to her all the time. I came in with a post-medical issue scar and expected them to just brush it off and say that I’m lucky that’s all I have like another doctor has previously stated. However, they were not only understanding and helpful, but eager to resolve my issue and do it properly and gradually. Can’t wait for the full result.

This place is a rip off! Would give it 0 stars if I could. I went in because I was concerned about small bumps under my eyes. The doctor said he would give it a shot at removing one (I have like 15 in total) and that I should return in 2 weeks to see if the treatment has worked and if so, we can proceed. The treatment lasted for literally 2 seconds. When I came to the follow up appointment, turned out that it did not work at all (which btw I had realized myself) so the doctor told me that we will not proceed further. A couple of days later - I receive the bill: $775 for the treatment that failed by the way and $250 for the follow up appointment.What bothers me the most is the lack of the transparency. I was not aware of the price of the trial treatment and neither I was aware of the price of the follow up appointment. Charging $775 for the failed trial treatment plus $250 for telling me: Sorry it did not work is the ultimate rip off! Dont go to this place

Simply the BEST. I cant recommend Dr. Lodha and staff enough -- courteous, knowledgable, pleasant, hard working, very personable and yes, kind. I have been coming here for years now and plan to do so for a long, long time!!!

Dr Lodha is great, I go to him religiously. He has been very attentive and super helpful every experience I’ve had. My skin and quality of life has improved tremendously since I started as a patient a little over 6 months ago. Manhattan Apothecary (for scripts) has also been a delight. Went in to see Dr. Saurabh Lodha after some light patches on my skin developed.Pros:- Front desk was attentive.- not a long waitCons:Dr’s assistant asked me a few questions and I explained I had a few light patches on my skin that I wanted reviewed. He told me to change into a paper gown & the doctor will be right with me.The doctor comes In and before even saying hello he’s already diagnosed me. He said that what I had was nothing to worry about (I never said I was worried only that I wanted it looked at). I’m in a paper gown and the doctor didn’t once check the spots because he already gave me the name of what it was and decided he didn’t need to check them.Spoke condescendingly about it and that nothing could be done to correct the spots. And that was it. Total of two minutes and I just paid for an appointment that I was given a diagnosis before even getting checked.The dr assistant gave me a piece of paper with the description of what I had. I came home, went on google and the description online had nothing to do with the patches on my skin.
