I have had my hair cut by John a few times now and I always leave feeling amazing. The first time, he did a great job with a cut and color that was exactly what I was looking for. Recently, I was just searching for a new look and needed something fresh that would gain me some confidence. I told him what I was thinking and some of my worries, and he knew exactly what to do. I trust him 100% and sure enough I absolutely love it! He is caring, professional, patient, and takes his time. Truly amazing!!!

My first time at the salon and everyone was nice. I was assigned with Sasha. While she seemed to be taking her time to understand what I had in mind, at the end, she did with what she herself had in mind. I ended up with very dark hair that I did not want in the first place. She would advocate for the outcome as “dark hair is not boring” and “it is fall, and dark hair is appropriate”. I even showed her a picture that I liked, and she said she doesn’t like it. She seemed to be more interested in executing her own taste and opinion rather than listening to what the client is asking and trying to make that happen. As for the haircut, I asked for trimming the ends, but it was not done carefully as I was left with hair that still had split ends. Overall, I was not happy with the outcome.

Now my go-to for my hair. Jen does an amazing job with color and cut. Highly recommend!

I just got my haircut with Sean and he did such an amazing job! My hair was very dry and lifeless so I told him I wanted layers and he did exactly that and more! I didn’t even expect him to style my hair the way that he did so that was also a bonus. I also got so many compliments on my hair. I can’t wait to go back next week for a partial balayage and see what he does with my hair 😻 everyone was also very kind. Thank you so much Sean!

I went 2 months ago to get my hair cut and dyed before my wedding. Big mistake. I booked an appointment online. I arrived early and they said their booking system didn’t have my appointment on record. I showed them my confirmation email and they apologized and said their booking system is prone to glitches. This wasn’t a big deal and i know these things happen so I wasn’t upset nor did I factor this into my star score for this review. The front desk lady said someone can help me one hour after my initial scheduled appointment time. I patiently waited. Then after waiting 1 hour she said they won’t be able to take me for any other hour. I asked if there’s a better time to come back and she said to come back in the evening, which I did.The guy who did my hair was very arrogant. I asked him to match my hair to the blonde hair extensions I brought in and was going to wear on my wedding and he literally made them white not blonde but WHITE. He then said he didn’t have time to cut or wash my hair since he has other clients. He was also pressuring me to spend $55 dollars on a 1 tblspn of olaplex no. 3 hair treatment when you can literally buy an entire bottle on Amazon for $25. I get it, salons need to up charge but my hairstylist was laying the pressure on thick and even shook his head when I rejected the olaplex for the umpteenth time. I talked to other hair stylists expressing that this was not what I wanted in fact it was polar opposite because I warned him not to make it too white. They just brushed me off and when I persisted they finally put toner in my hair. It still didn’t match but it was better and I just wanted to get out of there. As I was leaving, my original hair stylist criticized my previous hair and I thought to myself (Um it was way better than what you did.)It’s a shame because it’s so close to where I live but I def won’t come back here. I would like to mention that there may have been a language barrier with my original stylist but I felt like he didn’t care about what I wanted and just wanted me to spend the most amount possible. He was frustrating to work with because the quality of work didn’t match his inflated self image.

Lucky styled my hair today and i absolutely love my haircut! i came in for a consultation as im growing out a pixie cut and was having trouble figuring out what to do as it grows. lucky gave me a trim and made it overall so much more even- so caring and kind in the process! the only reason i took off a star is because it was 80 dollars and while i know that i am a woman i do have a length similar to men’s hair and i feel like that should be what was charged given how short my hair is. this is out of lucky’s control entirely. thank you again! 💗

Came here for a haircut and style. My stylist was late and she didn’t know how to curl hair. I showed her a picture from their own Yelp page. Normal loose curls. But she severely curled just the bottom half of my hair all around. It was really odd and she took a long time trying to fix it. It felt very unprofessional. I would not recommend at all. I think her name was Gina.

I booked with Shawn and could not be happier with my new haircut! He was kind and took his time with my long hair. Nicky was also so sweet and I was so relaxed while she washed my hair. I am obsessed with my new cut and will definitely come back to see Shawn again! The whole salon was beautiful and sparkling clean!

Ive gone twice now, and as a gentleman with long hair, they do an amazing job. Haircut is great, conversion is good, and the prices are fair. Definitely coming back for another trim in a few months.

I called and made an appointment for a mens haircut and accent highlights. Online it says $59 for accent, and $36 for mens cut (prices vary upon length and texture). As a man with short hair, of course my highlights would be closer to the $59, right? When I went to pay, the total was over $215 dollars. They explained that the highlights arent calculated by length (like the website says) but the amount of foils they use. Shame on me for not confirming their online prices in person, but really? Charging over double for a man with short hair? The only reason I am giving it two stars instead of one is because my hairdresser really did a great job. But beware - prices are not transparent!!

I have some difficult hair to cut as well, so I was hesitant what the outcome would be. Happy to say Ive been getting compliments on the style for the last few weeks and its easy to style and make it look as good as when I left the salon! Great cuts at a good price.....cant beat that!

A wonderful, clean salon with expert stylists. Stylist and Co-Owner Valentino is absolutely the best. I have had my hair cut, colored (single process and also highlights in the summer) and styled beautifully here during every visit over the years. Having been a client of Manhattans most upscale salons, I would not hesitate to say that Valentino & Jet is on par in its quality and professionalism. Highly Recommended.

This was my first time visiting the salon and I can say it wont be my last. It was very clean, spacious and everyone there was polite. I only went in for a cut and style but my stylist Maria did exactly what I asked of her, during my consultation, I showed her a picture of a previous cut and style and she was happy to make sure I got what I needed. Sean washed my hair, he was really gentle and funny. And the price for my haircut and style was very reasonable, with tax I paid $74 and I have very long hair. I really enjoyed Maria and Sean, I made sure to tip him for the wash and I usually only tip my stylist $15 but I loved Maria and gave $25. I wish I had a picture of my cut/style but I got a quick one with Maria while it was in motion. Definitely give them a try.

I had a super easy time booking an appointment online and they have great hours.Jennifer was amazing and I would highly recommend her - a great and talented stylist who explained everything very thoroughly and was fun to spend an hour with. I had a photoshoot for my headshots the next day so I was nervous how my color would turn out, but it was phenomenal. Great experience all the way around. She is very friendly and made me feel at home. Lovely conversation and the complementary glass of wine was the cherry on top. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. She was fabulous and I left extremely happy.

Wonderful salon with excellent skills. Valentino has cut my hair for four years. He always listens... does what I want him to do but suggests things when he has an idea. The salon is clean and furnished nicely and all of the staff are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Love, Love, Love!!!! Went in with a Lifebooker for a single process and blowout. I also discussed the possibility of lightning my black dyed hair which made me very unhappy. I met with Valentino & Jet, they both suggested I do the single process to cover my roots, add 1/2 head of red highlights and then a toner to achieve the color I wanted for the highlight. I cannot tell you, the end result put a huge smile on my face. I was very happy and my husband also told me my hair looks beautiful. I have been a client of Jets for nearly 10 years. His new hair salon with his business partner, Valentino, allows them to run a hair salon like all hair salons should be run. Clean, efficient, friendly and most importantly a great haircut at reasonable prices. In fact, my wife is a new client of Jets and was shocked on how much money she saved on a dye and cut. As long as Jet is working in NYC, I will be getting my haircuts with him.

I had requested for an updo for a friend’s wedding. My artist gave me a look which was more of a half-baked half updo. Not to mention she curled my hair on one side and likely got tired so was ready to leave it at that. I had to remind her to finish the curling. She also struggled to pin up the side braid a few times, after which she sloppily pinned it up in a way that would hold the braid temporarily so she could finish the job. The braid came out the moment I walked out of the saloon and was a pain to manage all through the party. The staff kept walking by and telling how great my hair looked and I didn’t know what they were talking about. I wonder whether they do that to each customer who gets one of their less trained artists?

Better priced and I got a good haircut with not a lot of guidance. Alex was skillet and pleasant.
