Last week I visited Deja Vous for the first time and was so content with an experience!My natural hair color is pretty dark yet I like to be a blondie (such a rare request! :)) In my case bleaching takes a long time and puts the hair at stake if something goes wrong. Thus, whenever I have to switch to a new hairstylist for some reasons, Im getting pretty uneasy.When I came to the salon, the stylist (her name was Mala) started from a conversation. She was attentively listening to my concerns, then we discussed what would be the best option for the type and the condition of my hair, and how much did it cost. So, by the moment we started the bleaching, Ive already felt quite comfortable. Mala was very hospitable, tactful and professional. Ill definitely come back to the Deja Vous because loved the results and I found the team super friendly and skillful. As for the price, its pretty affordable, especially considering the location.

Had a great experience at this salon! I called in the morning for a same-day appointment and was accommodated. I was greeted quickly upon arrival and met with Lucky. Consultation for coloring was on-point; I feel like she really understood that I needed a change but wanted something more natural. We went with a brown balayage to compliment the natural chestnut like brown hues I have in my dark, brown hair. Had an awesome hair wash (very relaxing) and coloring process was quick and painless. Cut and blow out were beautiful. I will be returning for my graduation blow-out. Loved my hair cut and Lucky was awesome and knowledgeable.

Alex is a wiz with a reasonable price. I came in for my first cut and could not be more pleased. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great service. The head massage was a welcome bonus.

Molly listened to what I wanted, how my last cut (at another salon) did not go well, and fixed what needed to be fixed. She was so nice and Im so much happier! The place was very clean and everyone was very kind and considerate.

Andrew Jae is honestly the best stylist Ive ever had. I went from jet black hair to silver and Andrew was so patient, always keeping the health of my hair in mind. Hes the best.

Very professional, and experienced stylists, colorist which is what one expects from a beauty hair salon. You can trust everyone in the salon as they work well together, and know that they are doing. You never leave disappointed and they make sure of that. I have done color, highlights, straightening, cut, trim, a quick wash and dry and have always left feeling fabulous! Oh and they only use the very best hair products, for color etc... they also sell hair products. As soon as you walk in the door you are acknowledged and taken cared of. The most amazing service I’ve received in years, first off, everyone in there is welcoming, the service is beyond amazing and they accommodate you so well, and work around your schedule. However, Lucky who has been cutting and coloring my hair is an ANGEL sent from heaven specifically to treat my hair. I started going to Deja Vous about a year ago. I live in Staten Island and had gone to quite a few reputable salons in my area but was not getting the optimum results I was hoping for with my hair color. I require color every 4 weeks to cover my grays. Since I work in NYC someone referred me to Ricky at Deja Vous, I was hesitant but went anyway. He corrected the various shades of browns I ended up with from the prior salons. He got it right, I ended up with the brown shiny look that I wanted which was my natural color from when I was younger but richer( I am now in my 50s). I only like a trim but he is always able to give me a great shape for my long hair without taking off more than a dusting. And I greatly appreciate that. My hair is naturally curly and frizzy and thinner than it used to be. Ricky handles my aging hair with care while achieving a smooth full blow out that lasts, without overdoing products, hence no more product build up. I would highly recommend Ricky. He is so personable and pleasant to be around. One other great thing I am not spending hours or my days off in a salon. His hours are so convenient he starts real early and is there late so before and after work are options. While in the salon I see the other work he does young girls and woman and he is so good with highlights and other color options.

What can I say about Avi besides Fantastic hair artist, stylist and perfectionist! Did my hair extensions (fusion) and absolute Hair Doctor!!!! Highly recommend him and the salon. He is a total package for hair and very charming. Great salon, super friendly, he is my Hair Doctor from now on. He does my moms color and hair cut and I will definitely be using him for my color next time. Btw they have a HUGE selection of top brand hair merchandise. 5 star

They work with within reason.The entire staff are great. Very knowledgeable. I usually go to see Alex (the owner); I have been going to see him for almost 10 years. He is quick and efficient in the timing for cutting my hair. The prices are reasonable and they are great for all times of hair. My hair is textured. It is rare to find a salon that can accomodate textured thick (black) hair as well as fine hair. They will make sure you are happy with what you are requesting from them. I am very picky about my hair and they are amazingly patient. Everytime I come here; it feels like they are a family.

Ive been going to Deja Vous for over ten years and absolutely love them. Everyone on the staff is a complete pleasure to deal with and great with hair. My old job was a few doors down from Deja Vous, and when I left the area to work further downtown, I have let my hair go untrimmed longer than I like rather than have another set of stylists touch it, preferring to wait until I can find time to make a trip to the old neighborhood. Eli and Alex are simply amazing and I have never once in all the years coming here have had anything less than loving the final results of their work and feeling beautiful afterwards. Btw, the salon caters to both men and women; the guys can get an excellent cut, Im told by old friends and colleagues in the area. I worry how I could ever replace them if I left New York ;)

Sincerely bad service.Alex, my so called stylist cut my hair for literally 2 minutes and said its finished. I guess its bc he found that Im only in the city for a visit and have no room of upselling. After hes finished, I was left to go with my hair still wet so that I have to find a dryer and dry it myself!This is the most horrendous service Ive ever received. I have to give Avi a SOLID five stars. I am type-A, extremely particular, and not afraid to say what I want and do not want. Avi listened to exactly what I wanted and explained few options that would make me happy while peppering in his professional opinion. In the end I trusted him enough to sit back and let him do what he believed was right. My hair looks PERFECT. I will now never trust anyone other than Avi. This salon gets all stars for the excellence that is associated with everyone at this store. Avi is great at his job. He did my hair straightening and was excellent at it. My hair is soft, smooth and silky. This is the first time in past several years that my hair is not dry and split after a hair straightening treatment. Kudos to Avi. A week later I went to get my long ends cut and Avi the expert again did a great job. Wonder if his scissors are unique or his hands but he cut my hair to the right extent such that they didnt appear too short. Thanks for everything. Deja Vous is absolutely one of the best salons in NYC. The management and staff are all creative, thorough in their work, trendy, friendly and upbeat. I came to the salon for a consultation. Met with Eli and told him I wanted a new fresh and sexy style. He instantly had an idea of a double process color (base and highlights) and a fresh cut. It was the best style Ive ever had! I constantly receive compliments on my beautifully colored, and always fresh looking cut. A year later (after faithfully returning to Eli), I decided to spice up my style.
