What just happened to me? I went in for an MRI on my brain. Without any education on what an MRI is, I went figuring this would be like a moment in a tanning bed. Boy was I wrong. I had no idea that an IV was being used, no idea really what was in that IV, (and no one told me) and no idea that I was going to walk away 25 minutes later so shook up I couldnt function the rest of my day. While the staff here is polite, I think that maybe there should be some instructions given before someone does one of these. There was no panic button once your inside, (and no one gave me one) so I was left to scream and flail to get someone to pull me out, 25 min after going in when the IV stuff caused me to feel nauseous) . I just wanted to vomit. The rest of my day was spent trying to find a way to curb the acid in my stomach, and the aches in my shoulders. ( I have frozen shoulder, which they want another MRI for) I didnt sleep well last night, and the pain in my shoulders today tops all the days Ive had this. My tinnitus in my ear is just on high volume after this experience, and this experience was supposed to show whats going on in my ear. I doubt youll get me back. There is such a thing as an open MRI, and most folks Ive spoken with told me they had a panic button, and a lengthy conversation before doing one of these. I still feel traumatized this morning, and hoping later today I can actually keep food from turning into acid in my stomach. I felt like a rat in a cage, being shuffled thru quickly so the next patient could be the next rat.

Security is very rude and needs to be trained. If the security company is contracted, the hospital should seek another company.
