Rolled in yesterday. Got a large pull thru site. Beautiful campgrounds! Well kept, clean, leaves are changing. Several tornado shelters around camp. Met some other people here pheasant hunting too. Large wind turbine and it never stops! So yes its always windy here. They even have a Tesla charger for electric vehicles!

We loved our short stay here. The park is big and beautifully covered with large tree- shade, shade, shade! The kids loved the pool and the mini golf. Momma was thankful for the cute laundry room and beautifully done bathroom/showers (all very clean)Only bummer for us was the smoking when you enter the office or need a mini golf ball/club. Its the smoking section of the park.We would stay here again and recommend to ppl passing through

Clean and very QUIET! Away from main highway, and little traffic on nearby road. Owner is a fantastic guy and 2A supporter. Bathrooms/showers are outstanding. I am a remote worker, and he let me stay as long as I needed for work. We prepared trailer to move if other campers showed up. Really appreciative for that service. Great price, awesome park. Visit the corn palace which is only 15 mintes away. Will stay again.

Great overnight! Host was helpful. It was busy but not too loud. Lots of trees. Bathrooms/showers were really clean and lots of colorful sinks. Showers were actually super tall. Road is nearby but the sound blends in with kids playing mini golf. Overall one of the best KOA experiences ever.

Its a KOA. Bathrooms were relatively clean and the showers had hot water. I enjoyed the rain shower heads in the shower. The downside. This KOA does not seem to pay much mind to the tent campers or tent camp area. There is nothing clearly marked. Several of the sites do not have fire pits and half of those are missing tables. The tent sites that do not have tables or fire pits appear to double as the dog walking area. And yes, thats where the RV campers walk their pets. Absolutely disgusting if you think about it. But, alas, no one will and Im sure this wont change. If you are an RV camper, this place is for you!If you are a tent camper, always keep your shoes on and try not to think about it.

We have traveled all across the country and stayed in many campgrounds, many of them KOAs. This is one of the best ones we have stayed at. We were coming through the area and only needed one night. The staff were friendly and the grounds were well kept. My daughter enjoyed the pool and our dog enjoyed the dog park. The showers were very nice and clean. I noticed that they also had a laundry room which is very helpful. Would highly recommend this place and would use them again if we are in the area.

Kids had an absolute ball! We pulled in at 8, and went swimming in the pretty warm outdoor pool, until dark. Then, they had a blast swinging on the porch swing. The staff was genuine and sweet, we sire have missed that good ol Midwest kindness!!! Cabins were exceptionally clean and well maintained, the bathroom as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This place is mostly quiet and spotless. The bathrooms are really clean and probably be nicest bathrooms Ive ever seen at a RV Park. The KOA is outside of town but near enough to have access to all the services you may need. All of the spots are in the shade of a bunch of giant trees. The staff has been around for 16 years and there is free coffee in the morning. Easily one of my favorite KOAs.

When we embark on a journey out west, this KOA is always our first stop. This KOA is very well kept and is quite beautiful. The bathrooms, grounds, and facilities are all immaculate. It is very busy, and one feels a sense of security when staying there because of it. We stayed in the cabin rental for a night. The cabin had air conditioning and was quite enjoyable. The only problem I had was the spiders in our cabin. I spent a good half hour destroying them. The only food nearby is about half an hour away. We ordered pizza from the only pizza joint in town and had it delivered, it was great! The owner of the camp ground really knows what he’s doing. You can find him constantly busy, fixing up the place. The location is perfect for heading out West, as the highway leads straight to the badlands and black hills. I’ll be staying here every time I go out west from now on!

We were very impressed with the service received here! The park is well kept and easily accessible from the interstate - very big rig friendly. Nice park on the outskirts of Mitchell SD and on a bluff above the James River. Mitchell has many amenities and the famous Corn Palace. Camp hosts Jerry & Jim were there to greet and guide us to our site. Campground is equipped with small concrete storm shelters with heavy steel doors... a nice safety measure to have when tornadoes pop up with little notice!

Nice little spot. We booked a one night stay about 5-6 hours before we arrived. Jim was more than accommodating. Upon arrival, we were guided to our site and he also guided us in. Those little things go a long way with us. Friendly staff, nice pool, doggy area and a couple dog walk areas. Plenty of shade and sun. Nice little store. The bathrooms...WOW! Rain shower heads, shelf for toiletries, corner seat, pre shower area with hooks and a bench, and the decor and cleanliness was beyond what I have come to expect from a KOA. Great job Mitchell KOA! Thanks for hosting us for the night. If we pass through again, we will definitely be back!

Stayed in C2... probably the worst site in the campground. They didnt monitor or enforce the parking signs or regulations so when we came through it was unbelievably tight. There were ppl parked in the middle of the road in the grassy area along the exit road in front of the no parking signs. I had to ask someone to move their truck that was parked out in the middle of the road so we could even get to our spot. The hookups were at the very front of the site and none of our hoses or electric cords would reach until we pulled the camper basically into the road, unhooked the truck and parked it behind the camper for the one night we were staying there. No sewer hook ups at site. I was extremely dissapointed for the cost of the site. Everyone was packed in there like sardines.

What a difference a year makes.Would not use online reservations if you want accuracy. Not sure what happened to Jim the receptionist in the office who checked us in/who states he is the only person who works here, but the attitude and poor customer service is terrible. Power outages in the park and when contacted he denied electrical issue even though our entire C row of RVs woke up to no power. Jim didnt even offer to check it out. His response was I dont know what to tell you. Started our stay finding out he failed to read our information on the original reservation and sarcastically blamed us for his inability to navigate his online reservations. Not sure we would come here again.
