Considering cardiology is such an important and delicate specialty in which good communication, caring and follow up is needed, this office completely lacks the necessary qualifications in patient care. Appointment wait time is at a minimum of 3 hrs per visit plus the drive time, and I have had to wait up to 4 hrs. They will not see you if you are past 15 minutes late but they will see no issue in sitting you in a crowded waiting room in Covid time for HOURS. There is a charge for missed appointments as well. There is a chance you will be seen by the nurse practitioner when paying the copay rate to see an specialist. The office service is provided by what seems inexperienced young personnel who provide an extremely segmentent customer service experience for the patient. If you leave a message for the doctor, you may get a call back several days later or none at all. They raffle $100.00 a month for 5 star reviews on google which I find very unprofessional; as those reviews come out of a monetary interest and not a real desire to express a true satisfaction with the medical services.Do yourself a favor and find yourself a cardiologist with an office truly focused on your health, well being and patient satisfaction.

Tried to make an appt but I was rejected because they didn’t do all my previous test at their office, supposedly.The office manager made the decision to reject me as a new patient because they don’t do second opinion, I never called and I never said that I was looking for a second opinion, I was looking for new Cardiology and they told me that they don’t take patient from another office. Their elderly patient (my grandmother) keeps being pushed a medication that she is having adverse reactions to, and the doctors or admin could care less. The patient is having severe side effects, and the admin only cares about whether the patient has a Telehealth referral which is not a real thing. If you want to be treated like a number and not a person, or visit a doctors office that is only in it for the money, go visit Dr. Abellas office. Good luck to your patients, they clearly need it.Upon further review, the owner continues to respond to reviews in an unprofessional manner. I have been suffering from palpitations for the last three weeks. I had an echo done on January 12, 2021 that was ordered by my pulmonologist, not for the palpitations but rather for shortness of breath. My appointment was denied by one of your staff who stated that if I had any studies done else where you would not be able to accept me as a patient. Can you kindly explain why? See I worked for him over 20 years ago and at first I thought wow this guy is strick not gonna lie. But as time went by I got to see the devotion that he put in his profession and the dedication towards each patient and I realized why he seemed to be so strick. He really cares about his patients. He is highly respected in his office and in the hospital. The reason why he will not accept other testing is because he knows what he is doing and when you put your health in his hands trust me he will do everything that he can to make sure that your health is top priority. So please dont get offended because you miss or cancel your appts then wonder why you are dismissed from his services. He takes his profession very serious and expects that you take your health just as serious too.You expect the best from him and he expects your full co-operation in your treatment. This is nothing new thisHas always been his priority. YOU. So if you can sit in a beauty parlour for 1 to 2 hours to get your hair done then you can wait a bit in his waiting room. Once you are in that room his attention is totally on you no matter how long it takes. So please analyze the reality of the situation. I had been looking for a cardiologist for my mother for quite some time. Yet, I couldnt seem to find one that met all of her needs. His office staff was professional and kind. As for Dr.Abella and his nurse practitioner Maria Tamayo, they went above and beyond for my mothers cardiac health concerns. They both dedicated their time to her. They asked her questions, and went over ALL her medical history. Most importantly, she never felt rushed (extremely important as a new patient). All examinations needed to be done were sent to her. My upmost favorite part of the visit was the attention to explanation that Dr.Abella and Nurse practitioner Maria Tamayo gave to my mother. I truly appreciate the time dedicated. The worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor! on the first visit the doctor had a really bad attitude and I decided not to go back, but two years later my primary told me to go again. On the second visit I remembered why I didn’t want to go back because he still had the same attitude but because I needed some tests done I decided to stay. I made the 3 appointments in mid February and specifically told them I would be flying out of town for these visits, they waited 6weeks on a Friday around closing time to leave a message that they had to reschedule. ( when I had already spoken a week ago and confirmed the appointment )of course I called back to see why I had to reschedule but no answer obviously. Long story short all my appointments canceled 3 test had not been approved I’m guessing because they never followed up with the insurance bcuz it only takes up to 3 weeks. Spoke with the manager Valery and basically if i would’ve told her I was flying in she would’ve done a better job. I was so upset I said I was not goin back again! But if I went to another doctor it was going to take a long time to start over so I called back and I asked if I could schedule the appointments for late April I get the appointment and three weeks later I call to confirm and and Valery tells me I’m not in the system and there’s no appointments for me. What a waist of time, money and energy they have no consideration at all ! FYI the only reason why they have any good reviews is because they do a raffle for whoever is stupid enough to waist there time to leave one.Lol they have the nerves to say that I missed my appts and I don’t answer there calls when in fact i had to call a week before 3 times to confirm my appointments because I flew from another state ! Just for my appts to then arrive and be told that I had to reschedule a month later because they never followed up with the insurance in 6 weeks so yes I had every right to get upset and say they’re unprofessional n inconsiderate of ppls time after being told if I had only known that if you were flying in I would’ve checked! I am very great-full to Dr. Abella and his staff, for giving me the opportunity to walk and sit without feeling pain. For over ten years, I put up with pain in my left leg, that I thought was just the product of aging. Having met Dr. Abella, he examined me and found I needed three veins closed off, with a process called vein ablation.Dr Abella performed the vein ablation procedure, and I felt relief from the pain almost immediately. Less than a week after the procedure, I can stand, walk and sit without being in pain.The entire procedure lasted one hour and done in his office. I have been visiting Abella Heart for Ablation treatments since late November. At the beginning of my treaments I was nervous and insecure about the outcome of my doctors visits, but suddenly my worry and fear disappeared when I encountered Dr. Abella. I was impressed by his professionalism, his bedside manners, sanitized surroundings and his selected staff members. He treated me with professional courtesy and compassion. He is a high caliber doctor. Shakira, the receptionist,is the best. She welcomes me with a smile and warm greetings that makes me forget that I am going to receive venous ablation treatments. Anaria and Stefanny have helped me during the process and I feel very comfortable with their knowledge and humanitarian gestures. One day, I forgot my varicose stockings and Anaria helped me without hesitation. I was so touched!!! Priscilla contacted my insurance company and after a long debate she saved me some money that in todays financial crisis was very helpful. Mercedes and Joanne have dealt with me adjusting my appointments various times to accomodate my schedule for which I am very grateful and I am very impressed with their patience and kindness. Maria Tamayo has helped me calm down my anxiety through her explanations regarding my treatments and Cindy helped me with the vascular studies. Today I went for one of the treatments and there was a truly exquisite Christmas tree in the office decorated by Shakira with beautiful Victorian/Vintage ornaments. This Christmas tree brought me to the Nostalgic Old Christmas World when doctors really cared about their patients and thats exactly how I felt in the office. I felt the care, compassion and empathy they have for their patients. I am giving one star because there isn’t a zero star. The office staff is rude and unprofessional. During the first visit, the doctor prescribed a series of tests that his primary care completed at his annual check-up. However, when my husband told the staff about his concern about repeating the same tests completed at the primary care office, the office staff became very angry and informed my husband that Dr. Abella wouldnt be seeing him anymore. My husband was never against the doctors recommendations; his only concern was insurance coverage. The office still tried to make him sign a form that says that he was refusing treatment. Furthermore, the office team scheduled a series of appointments and canceled them without further notice, and make him drive to Kendal.This office staff needs to be taught kindness, respect, empathy, compassion and most of all professionalism toward their patients. This experience makes one think that they are only interested in ordering expensive tests to bill the insurance carrier instead of the well being of the patient being their primary concern.

I had an appointment yesterday because of my veins and legs feeling heavy. I arrived early and was informed I had to pay a co-pay of $130! I just returned from a Europe vacation and didn’t expect that huge co-pay. In addition the staff had my insurance info from the time the appointment was scheduled. Why didn’t they inform me before making me go to my appointment and not be seen?I have Cigna Open Access so my co-pay can fluctuate and all my other doctors that take my insurance, bill the insurance and bill me whatever the insurance doesn’t cover. In the past I have paid money up front to other doctors and it’s always a mission to get it refunded after they over charge in advance instead of the contracted rate.My daughter had her viens done and Dr Abella did an excellent job so that is the reason I chose to see him and get evaluated . So very disappointed that his staff did not offer any alternative option! Also I received a call today stating I missed my appointment which I didn’t since that is when I was told I was being charged $130 BEFORE being seen.

Great doctor. Horrible staff. My mother went in to do vein treatment and his staff treated her very rough and unprofessional. Doctors assistants were extremely rough and prepped her on the wrong side. My mother being a nurse knows how important it is to treat patients with care, was completely appalled. She loves him as a doctor but said she won’t go back due to his staff and how bad they were with her.

Dr. Abella is one if not the most personable, understanding and just a genuine doctor. You really feel a connection with him. Real interest in your health. He is my mothers cardiologist and I cant start to tell you how I am so honored to have him serve my biggest love my mom. He is very honest and a pleasure to talk to. Unlike all the other doctors and specialist we have dealt with in the recent months, they turn this profession into a business. Not Dr. Abella! Joana his NP is the sweetest, goes one by one on what meds you are taking. What meds interfere with other meds you take, Just again very knowledgeable. They are a great team! The office is very clean, nice and modern. The front desk girls Dianet & Janessa are very helpful. I highly recommend this Doctor.

The people that work with the Dr. are fantastic They take the time to make sure you understand the pluses and minuses of what could be unhealthy for you and leed you down the right road. They also have a sense of humor which takes the edge off a nervous patient.I have never been so re-laxed with everyone inthe office. I am a REAL hard patient to deal with but I will follow the rules and take the prescribed medicines.From 1 to 10 I rate the Dr. and his staff as 10+. A very arrogant and rude Doctor ... The worst I have ever seen!!I overheard his comments about us to the receptionist and we left his Office to never return again!!We got to know what he really thinks of his patients and let me tell you he is not a caring and understanding Doctor at all!!!It took them 2 YEARS to reply to my comment ... and they lied!! ... HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!

Toda mi vida e sido hospital administrador. Nunca en mi vida e experimentado un animal no se puede decir porque para mi los animales son sagrados es una bestia, no tiene educación ninguna a mi esposo lo mordió un perro y lo mandaron desde August a ver un Hand surgeon yo me pase 3 semanas llamando para un referral y me dijeron que la nurse practitioner tenía que verlo. Ella lo vio la semana antes de la visita de ayer y dijo la mano está inflamada pero no está negra. Fuimos a la oficina porque la nurse nos dijo que el procedimiento se podía hacer en la oficina porque el pertenece a un Elite program. Bueno cuando el entro a ver la mano de mi esposo enseguida dijo que lo refirieran a un hand surgeon algo que se estaba pidiendo hacia 3 semanas que 5 Doctores de emergencia lo habían referido. Pero el no quiso hacer el referido. Por primera vez me comuniqué con el seguro y les expliqué todo se puso una investigación. Ayer ese monstruo nos trató como si fuéramos perros el corazón de mi esposo trabaja 35 % y el tiene su poco de dementia después de tener 4 infartos y estar en coma 8 meses. El no le importo que mi esposo llego con la presión alta. Le pide a la muchacha que me estaba haciendo el referral que si me podía llamar a alguien para volver a tomarle la presión me dijeron que todas estaban ocupadas. Me fui y llame a mi abogado para que oyera todo lo que había pasado en la oficina que lo grave.

One of the worst experiences of my life !!! More than two months ago I went to do a heart exam and paid for it. Before starting the exam, the machine broke down and they couldnt do it for me. After the bad experience, I did not want to take the exam with them again, and I asked them to return my money and they refuse to do so. Every time I call, they hang up the phone and tell me lies and to this day I have still not received the money I paid for an exam that they could not do.

Tremendous attentions in the center, Super nice Shakira, attends everyone with great affection and is always in a good mood. Excellent attention with all the staff I recommend it 100%. Dr Abella, very kind, answers your questions. My wife and I super happy with the center.
