Dr. Alexander Veloso and his assistant Jenny Ruiz took great care of my husband! My husband needed to quickly be referred for surgery and additional care and they assisted us in getting this done quickly. Both Dr. Veloso and Jenny treated us like family. We are forever grateful for their kindness, caring and medical expertise! Jenny is now a close friend to us too. God Bless them both!

Service is terrible. Receptionists are rude. The doctors on the other hand are OK at best. I was very surprised.

I called for an appt, waited 20m on hold and when they answered the girl said “doctors office how can I help you” and hung up. I’m 100% sure she does this all day long and then tells people or the doctor that the calls drop. The reviews are true about being hung up on.

Appointment was at 7, got here at 6:45, its now 10. Im still sitting here. If i wouldn’t have paid already i wouldve been left.

Could not even set an appointment. The automated answering service puts you through a loop. It begins with the initial message where I select 2 if youre a patient to be told that I will be placed in line and that all calls are answered in the order received. Moments after that message I am back to the welcome message. Bad service before getting through the front door. If you have time to waste, call them to set an appointment.

Wonderful experience. Excellent patient care. Dr. Nieves was thorough in her explanation. The office staff were professional and efficient.

Just trying to make appointment and I can’t get through it is the worst I don’t know how anybody have close to 5 start when the 1rst step they suck at it.

Alexander Veloso MD’s office is astounding. Dr. Veloso really took the time to explain my son`s diagnosis and future treatment plans. He was very professional and made us feel completely at ease. He advised us that we could reach him at any time with any questions or concerns. We had seen many doctors, and no one was able to correctly diagnose my son until now. I cannot put into words my gratitude for Dr. Veloso and of course his nurse, Jenny; who was an absolute delight and went above and beyond. She was able to aid with the disbursement of the medication from the pharmacy and scheduled dates for upcoming labs and exams that I was having difficulty obtaining. From a mother that was worried about her son, I am forever indebted for the attention, integrity, and care that we have received from Dr. Veloso and his staff.

I am very unhappy on how I was treated in this office recently. The girls in the front desk are great, but don’t waist your time having a consult with the nurse practitioner- Luz Marin. She is rude, doesn’t listen to your needs, and instead of recommending something else or trying to help you find a solution, in my situation asked me very rudely “what do you want me to do?” She’s the healthcare provider, she should try to help me verses being rude and making me feel helpless with my health problems. She was also aware there was a shortage on certain medications she prescribed me, yet she sent it to the pharmacy anyways expecting me to go around Miami trying to find the medication at other pharmacies. Then gave me a choice to go back again to their office to pick up another prescription to further waste my time.....Healthcare providers that care about your health or wellbeing do not provide this type of service to their patients.

I dont know about doctors. I am sure they are good but the management and service is horrible. I came with my mom to go over her results. Like other reviewers they have her appointment by phone and didnt put on their schedule. We have been here for over 2 hours and they cant accommodate and tell her she needs to be patient. This place is a madhouse filled with angry patients waiting to get inSo disrespectful to peoples time. Most of these patients waiting are older and probably dont know about online reviews. Wish I could video tape this madness. Crazy. If it wasnt because I have been here already for 2 hours and she needs to go over her problem options I would of given the front staff the finger and found her a better doctor option. But at her age she cant deal with that stress and needs to address her problem urgently. So if you bare a new patient or have no serious problem find yourself an office that cares and respects their clients.

We dealt with Dr Andrade. Wonderful doctor. My mother had an unfortunate diagnosis but Dr Andrade stayed on top of all of the backup lab work. He took calls at 8 and 9pm. I cannot speak highly enough about him as a doctor and a compassionate human being

I went there for my first time and my experience was excellent ...Dr Velozo was great he took care of me with professionalism he referred me to the right surgeon and I was very pleased with their staff very nice & friendly service..especially Jenny R. she was magnificent she went out of her way to make sure I had all my antibiotics..my insurance coverage in order .. she followed up with my health 100 percent..she’s a truly remarkable & a very professional lady!!! I strongly recommend Gastro-Med to everyone to go there !!!

I have been coming to Dr. Alex Veloso office for over 2 years and can say the people in this establishment has made my appointments smooth as can be. Not only had he helped me discover my issues but has been very responsive to any question I may have above all Jenny, one of the nurses there has truly gone above and beyond to assist me with any questions or concerns I ever had. Dr. Andrade was great! He is very knowledgeable and took his time with me. Nurse practitioner asked many questions about medical history and was courteous. Would definitely recommend this practice/doctor to anyone.

I went thinking my appointment had been scheduled for 10/10/18. As it turned out, the appointment had never been confirmed. The office, however, was very accommodating. They were able to fit me in. Dr Veloso was a delight. He explained the procedure and what I would expect afterwards. He answered all my questions without hesitation. The staff was awesome. Super friendly and always happy to help. I scheduled my procedure without incident. All in all this place is amazing.

Very professional attention from Dr Andrade and his staff

While the Drs are super nice, THE OFFICE has no clue what they are doing, do not care about patients, do not call back, and have no idea how to bill to your insurance. Which i could give more starts for the Doctor but unfortunately, the office sucks. This office needs new management in order to run more proficiently and hire employees that actually care about the patients.

Dr. Alexander Valoso was wonderful same as the staff. I didn’t have to wait a long time there.

This cannot be a real business, someone picked up laughing put me on hold and never came back. I called back and was number 9 in the queue and randomly call was disconnected. Im reporting this to the bbb for bad business practices.

Dr. Veloso is amazing, as well as the staff there. His nurse, Janie, was also great. They were very helpful, answered my questions and were not in a rush to run to the next patient (as I have experienced with other doctors). Im rating a 4 because the waiting room is FULL of people and seems really unorganized - almost like being at the DMV. I had to wait 45 min. to be seen, but once back in the exam room, the experience was exceptional.

Updated review (from a 3 star to 1 star review)Im trying to pay a bill and have to wait 30 min to talk to someone on the phone. Once they take my call, they transfer me to the billing department which was an invalid number so I had to call again and wait another 25 min to get my call answered. Gastromed doesnt have an online way to book appointments at the coral gables address with Dr. Andrade. There is no other way to get a hold of Gastromed, so you need to carve out at least an hour of your day for any needs. I cant wait to pay this bill and never go back. Every time Ive gone, it takes a minimum of 1 hour to get seen--this is with an appointment. This place has horrible customer service.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The doctor was professional and knowledgeable. Very keen on finding the best solution. Only challenge is long wait time in the office. Don’t schedule your appointment online—I did so and when I arrived they had a different appointment on their paper than the confirmations I had been receiving. They addressed it after I waited for an hour, but they really did look into it to improve processes. It was nice to know they were fixing the issue but I still waiting a full hour to be seen.

The receptionist deserves to be FIRED all she does is pick up, put you on mute, hang up or transfer you to someone voicemail that never calls back. Worst service ever for a new patient referred by Jackson South. I already complained to them for referring this terrible doctors office.

This place is seriously a joke! Been waiting for over an hour to be called in and still waiting. I don’t know why they are so stricked with appointments if your appointment time passes and you’ll probably be waiting for over 2 hours or more to see a doctor at this place. HIGHLY recommend this clinic to all GI patients. Staff and doctors are humane, humble and professional.

It took me two months to get an appt. Dr Andrade seemed to be a good Dr, but the place looked run down! The consultation office was smaller than my bathroom and filtier, the examing table was ripped up, the Dr was standing up for the five minute consultation, the Dr said he did ten colonoscopies today it was only 12:30 pm and the floors looked stained. Hello, they want to do a colonoscopy in this place on the first floor? I felt insulted. You do not know if they have lunch in the center or if they have rodents in there. Most likely you will not be able yo sue if you get an infection in the rat place. I will go to the hospital and get let my insurance pay to get it done safely. Now I need to wait another two months for another g.i appt with my colon pain and upset colon problems. No I would not recommend this place to no one on what so ever.

Dr. Christian Andrade has been my Doctor for over a year. During every visit he has been attentive, explaining things with great detail and the treatment has been successful. The staff treated me with respect and was very patient during every visit. I am satisfied with Dr. Andrade. I would definitely recommend Dr. Andrade to family and friends.

Rating based on office handling, did not see doctor.Online website does not communicate with the physical office. I made an appointment almost 2 weeks ago. I received four confirmation emails regarding same and a text message reminder. Went before my appointment time and after waiting almost 25 - 30 mins, I was informed that there was no record of my appointment. After the front end intake specialist was unable to locate my appointment she guided me to a second individual. After explaining my situation and showing the emails and text message, they began try to see what exactly happened and see if they could squeeze me in. As I had overheard there being multiple individuals with the same appointment time as me, I left.The individuals were all polite which made the situation a touch less aggravating; however, taking time off work to go after numerous confirmations regarding my appointment, it is really unacceptable.

5 years ago I had the joy of being cared for in this place by Dr Alexander Velozo and his assistant Jenny Ruiz. From the first moment Jenny called me in, I felt like I was in the right place. I was not wrong: Jenny was a set of kindness and professionalism. He treated me with a familiarity that made me lose my fear. And when Dr. Alexander Velozo saw me, I felt the same because he was a waste of good treatment, knowledge and professionalism. Besides that they both had perfect medical ethics. Now, 5 years later I had another problem and I wanted to be treated at the same place, GastroMed and I was again treated by Dr Alexander Velozo and his assistant Jenny Ruiz. Both he and she recognized me and needless to say, the affection that Jenny showed when she saw me again. He treated me like family without neglecting his professionalism and seriousness in his work. In the same way, I was treated by the Doctor, who listened carefully to my problems and explained everything related to my problem with the same kindness and professionalism as 5 years ago. The telephone service is very bad, also after 6 months of doing a gastrocopy exam, they sent me a bill for something that my insurance had not paid, I called, I paid and the confirmation number they gave me was the name of the person who performed collection. Two months later they transferred me to Colletion because my card had not passed. At that time I did not remember the name of the person who charged me. I went to the Website of the Collection CIB company and paid again so as not to affect my credit record. What a pity that having such good doctors, fall into those bad administrative practices. Dr. Angel Veloso is an excellent doctor and human being as well as Jeny his assistant but the delays to enter are up to three hours and now they have a supreme unpleasant mind at the arrival window and speaks to one very badly with a bad face and very, very bad attitude should get out of there

Dr. Veloso Alexander a great doctor, very friendly and affectionate, explains everything in detail, but the customer service is Terrible, you get tired of calling and do not attend to you, I am upset with this situation, and if they take the call they put you on hold and you have to hang up because nobody ever comes out, its a shame, I think they could have better attention, because of us the patients that depend on them.

Horrible service and appointment control. Every time we came it was at Least 3 hours of waiting. They had my 91yo grandma waiting from 9am until 1 pm even after I asked to give us an appointment where it wont be as busy. Horrible horrible place, would not come ever again, there are great doctors and much better services in other places.PS: I wouldnt doubt if they buy reviews to increase ratings since from personal experience everyone waiting have been complaining non-stop without any help.The worst place I have been. They have no control over appointments and the service is horrible. Every time I come there is a minimum 3 hour wait. The last see my grandmother held 91 years waiting from 9am till 1pm. I would not be back, this is the last time. There is better service and good doctors in other places.PS: I dont doubt if they buy reviews to raise their rating. Speaking of my own experience, whenever Im here, people dont stop complaining about the delay and lack of help.

It takes a bit, but its worth it. Especially now in these times that it is difficult to find good doctors.I like the fact that Dr. Veloso took the time to answer my questions and his work to help me find a good treatment to dispel my symptoms.

The doctors are not bad but the service and efficiency of the place leaves a lot to be desired. When you go to do a procedure you have to go 1 day without eating this perfect only that the day of the appointment even if you arrive before your time to expedite they leave you two and three hours waiting or that your appointment is useless if it is not done at the indicated time and you are hungry, you want to vomit and pain in your stomach if you have gastritis due toThe waiting and fasting so great that you have, I consider a lack of respect to the passenger since in the same way the service is not free, you pay for what they make you the price they have, it is not that they give it to you to have so bad service and being so inefficient I hope they improve because they are not the only ones who perform this procedure in the future I hope I do not need to go to another place if what is left over are good gastroenterologists in Miami of those abound, I hope you read this and drink.
