Canyon Vista Recovery Center is an amazing facility with extremely caring and knowledgeable staff. Canyon Vista is a well structured recovery program with a lot of fun activities to do in your free time! The facilities and rooms are cleaned every morning by staff and are very well maintained. When I came to Canyon Vista to change my life and get sober I was greeted with comfort and hospitality. The nurses and staff really do fully care about you and your recovery...they help make your stay through detox/residential feel less like youre at a rehab and more so like youre at home. I would recommend Canyon Vista Recovery Center to anyone and everyone.... they gave me my life back and I am forever grateful.

I had a great experience at Canyon Vista. This was a terrible time in my life and everyone was great. The staff really cared. They gave us tough love at the right time and compassion at other times. Ive never seen a CEO so engaged and passionate about helping people. And the nurses and techs were always available. I know I can make my life better because of Canyon Vista!

Canyon Vista changed my life and saved it as well. I was a hopeless heroin addict and I wouldnt be clean today without them. The staff and doctors truly care and are invested in your recovery. They also have a great after care and alumni groups that I still attend even after 3 years.

Canyon Vista has taught me how to be accountable and about acceptance. Ive learned about addiction and whats behind it.. They did me justice by giving me the tools to go out in this fkd up world and live my best life-sober! While my stay all was cool the care given by nurses, BHTS, therapists and of course Peggy director that made it cool for our activities and seeds lol. Real talk they did the best they could to now what is progressing. As long as we understand they are there for our recovery.

I had a great experience at this facility. I did the detox and residential. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and involved with every aspect of my recovery while i was there. I learned so many things and they made it easy for me to get completely engaged with my addiction/recovery. I would suggest this facility to anyone looking for help with their substance abuse issues so you can start on a good path toward your recovery and a better life.

This place saved my life. The staff, the counselors, and the residents are some of the most amazing people I have ever met. They helped me find an out patient center before I left to make sure I wouldn’t skip a beat in my recovery. I’m grateful for my time there and would strongly recommend this to anyone looking to recover from their addiction.

My boyfriend left Canyon Vista Recovery Center after 3 days of detox. The medical staff informed him that he was medically safe to leave, but it would be against medical advice. Four days after he left, he realized he needed treatment and could not manage his addiction on his own.He made the necessary arrangements with his family and employer to take a leave of absence (+30 days) and attempted to check back into their program. He called to arrange his return, but was denied because he left against medical advice. Unbelievable. I spoke to Greg, the Clinical Director, for over twenty-minutes attempting to change his mind pleading for help. I could hardly stomach his lack of empathy and compassion. Greg mentioned he did not want to hurt the integrity of their facility by readmitting my boyfriend.I am not sure if Greg knows the meaning of integrity but I do know that charging $7500 for a three day stay, doping my BF up on Lorazepam and Trazodone and then denying care in a crisis situation is NOT integrity its UNETHICAL.Think twice before you place your loved one or yourself in this facility. You can get help. There are resources out there. Dont make the same mistake we did.

I was an employee here, the new leadership is not focused on quality care, instead they are focused on increasing the amount of patients without having the appropriate staff to care for these patients. Additionally, after being guaranteed by the CEO I would receive all PTO and pay due to me, it was later not paid and I was informed their policy is not to pay any accrued PTO. This policy is not listed anywhere in the employee handbook.People are routinely admitted without a thorough background check making it hard for staff and unsafe for that person and others.Other options exist with quality leadership who ensure appropriate staffing exists. Be wise in making your choice whether you wish to work here or receive treatment.

I went to Canyon Vista because I was truly hopeless and in a very dark place in my life. The staff at CV taught me the coping skills I needed to find happiness again. Im forever grateful for the opportunity. Im almost a year clean and sober now and happier than ever. For me, Canyon Vista is where all the magic happened. To the staff, I love you all and thank you so ver much. Especially Richard who did not give up on me when I expressed how desperately I needed help. It took me 3 days to get there but I made it!!!!

I was a patient at Canyon Vista Recovery Center and i had an amazing time there. The other patients were great to be around and made me feel like i was apart of a family. We all motivated each other and made a tight bond with each and everyone there. The bonds i made with the other patients are going to last forever. Also the staff here were really professional. Anytime i needed help they were right there to guide me through any questions that needed answering. The counselors were a really big help with my stay, they all had great personalitys and were really easy to talk to. I learned a lot of new coping skills that I will be able to use in my everyday life. All in all this was a great experience and step forward in my recovery. I recommend it to anyone having troubles in their life to give Canyon Vista a call and give them a shot to help you take that big step to a new life. I hope to meet any new comers and talk with you guys about any questions or problems you may have.

***Update*** My husband was at Canyon Vista Phoenix for a month. They put him on a plane as soon as insurance was cancelled. Never did any family counseling or tried to contact me. His counselor called me finally a week after my post below ( despite leaving messages with the clinical director etc, never heard from administration, because they DO NOT CARE.) The one and only time I talked to my husbands counselor after a week of trying to get a hold of him, so he could tell my husband about his termination as I was advised, he wasnt concerned at all he thought he didnt have a job. Seems to be an indication of how little anyone knows at this recovery center. AKA They treat family and residents like they are in jail. The people at this center do not care about the families or what happens when a person leaves. They didnt even do any after care coordination despite giving them our counselors information at home. It is inconceivable that a center would not return someones calls during a 30 day stent and just put someone on a plane home and just never call their family back after many many attempts and messages. TERRIBLE. They should not be in business!**Original post** Do not send your loved one here. My husband was terminated from his job while at the center and I was unable to tell him. I spent countless hours calling corporate and calling the center directly to get in contact with his therapist. On the initial call to corporate they were overly concerned about his coverage since he was terminated as opposed to delivering him important information in a therapeutic setting (as I was advised).A week after his termination and my stress, I was elated to get a scheduled phone call from the therapist. They didnt call. In fact, my husbands therapist lied to him, and said they left me a detailed message. They never left a message. I called corporate again, and was told they dont handle complaints.Furthermore, my husband told me when he initially arrived that he has had to constantly advocate for himself. Thankfully we are both well-educated and well-versed in navigating systems otherwise people would get lost in this horrific system. In fact I sent him stuff from Amazon that workers didnt give him until I verified tracking numbers.Do NOT send a loved one here. They dont care about people. I have my Masters in Social Work and have worked with countless therapists, court systems, hospitals etc. With more than 15 years in the field I find their treatment and lies in this situation appalling. DO NOT SEND ANYONE HERE.

This place is terrible. My counselor gossiped to me about other clients during the rare times I got a 1 on 1 session or used me as a therapist for her stress relief and venting. The staff is unprofessional except for a few. Felt like a huge waste of time. All of the lessons are downloaded from some therapist guide website, which we would read word for word then end group. The location is smack in the middle of trap houses. Felt worse about myself and my outlook on sobriety was grim after leaving. Congratulations to anyone who stayed sober after graduation. I’m sober for a year now thanks to Promises Scottsdale.

This place honestly changed my life. I went from being in prison to my last birthday to now being able to have a first sober one, the staff always accommodates to any concerns we had while I stayed there which honestly got to be impressive, they even got us new tv’s that had YouTube which was dope haha, the rules are simple and straight forwards and honestly pretty lenient to an extent compared to other facilitys but they remain in such a way that still offers a very safe environment of growth for the people who are willing to do the work, I recommend canyon vista to anybody who needs help cause this is the only place that offered me hope when I needed it most ❤️ For all the staff reading this I have much love for you all, each and every one of you guys helped change my perspective on life and I can only repay you guys with staying sober and living happily, much love

Canyon Vista is a wonderful place. My wife who was struggling and needed a structured environment with loving people thrived here. My wife had been to treatment before years ago, and her experience with the therapists was phenomenal. Karen helped her uncover some things she had never worked on before, and my wife learned so many things about herself. The entire team is full of compassion,. and love. They where attentive to my questions, and provided the support myself, and my children needed in this tough time. The grounds could use a little updating- but its very minor, and it is a safe, clean comfortable place from everything I have seen. Thank you to the team at Canyon Vista for helping my wife get back on the track of Recovery. Ive never seen her like she is today- even when she was sober before. She is really a new woman. Thank you for everything.

I checked my kid into this facility and all seemed to be right. Then out of nowhere they were MIA. Come to find out safety was an issue and drugs were being pedaled through there and they had relapsed while in this facility. On top of that they were eaten alive by bed bugs. Awesome! They accepted insurance; however, never told me they were charging me for scripts (I have RX coverage but they never mentioned meds so I didnt share this info). I later learned they had my kid on 5 different medications. To say it was rather alarming would be an understatement. Their website advertises things like a pool and service animals neither of which are available/or an option. Ummmm how do you say you have a pool and there is nowhere to even put a pool?! How do they claim to be drug free and a safe environment while the patients are relapsing right under their noses? They are left in a house alone with the other patients and only come to check on them hourly? Um so many things can go wrong in an hour. There arent any cameras are other safety measures in place. This is questionable...While I realize the relapse was a choice it should have never been one inside the facility. And bed bugs?! Really?! We pay these facilities a ton of money, they should be able to keep the facilities free of drugs and bed bugs. SUPER disappointed in this facility and that is putting it mildly. Transparency is definetely not their strong suit.

Son was accepted after extensive assessment. Facility had utility issues and he was relocated in not an agreed room arrangement but in a room with multiple patients causing extreme anxiety. Not the program we expected. The original agreed cost was $10k for 30 days. They had my Son, who is a 28 year old addict in need of help sign a contract his parents paid for in advance. He was discharged after just two weeks and sent to a mental facility for evaluation which coat us another $1500 that was a separate charge by that facility. Canyon was not willing to reimburse a dime. After 2 weeks of requesting a copy of the contract, we finally got it with obvious changed made to it after the fact. Instead of 10k for the 30 day, they instead, came up with an extremely inflated cost of $2000 a day amounting to a $60k a month cost. How ignorant do they think people are to agree to that amount and then offer a one time up front 10k payment for the 30 day stay. WHAT A SCAM. Its obvious the d drug and alcohol rehabilitation industry needs more government over sight. Word to the wise; buyer beware.

I was in this place for less than 2 weeks, I found that the place wasnt giving me the tools I needed. Canyon vista really did bring me to a place of acceptance for step meetings but the downtime there is brutal, there didnt seem to be much guidance. I was given a lock to a private area for my stuff, that didnt work. For the amount of money they are charging and the amount of people there it didnt add up, facilities were janky, my roommate had a mattress that was soiled with urine and at a point I felt I was there for them to get money. There is only one phone that can be used for everyone there

Called, they said they would call me back. Never called me, I called again, they said they would have someone call me. Just so I could give them insurance information to SEE if my loved one was eligible. Someone finally called me. I was in a work meeting, so they left a message. Called her back, awhile later she texts me, but for the wrong person. I texted her that it was me and that I had called her and wanted more info about the program. She never responded. I have yet to receive a call. Will definitely not waste my time with them anymore. When you need to get a loved one in to a treatment asap, I HOPE they get you what you need. From a desperate family for help, this is not okay.

Helpful if you accept AA 12 steps as ONLY source of recovery. Total waste of my familys $15,000. Printed daily program schedule seldom followed; mostly consisted of reading AA Big Book & written homework.Security a real problem; easy access to campus via unlocked gate.2 male antagonists dared to enter my female only housing unit looking for me (a Canyon Vista patient & another AA meeting attendee who stalked me at on & off campus meetings). Extremely unsettling despite reassurances from Canyon Vista personnel such unauthorized intrusions were unacceptable & wouldnt be tolerated in future.Luckily, caring rehab males & females, aware of my dilemna, protected me.Doubt my review will be published but many kudos to therapist, Matt. Quickly understood me, my long-term depresssion & post traumatic stress syndrome, as did my assigned psychiatrist.UPDATE: Despite my prior critical remarks, I found my true self again & renewed my leadership skills because of opportunities provided by Canyon Vista.

I came to WINR in March of 2012, 2 weeks off heroin. I went to the 4 month side and took part in lessons and classes during the day and community meetings at night. This place saved my life. I am now over 4 years clean, I sponsor other ladies at WINR and am so grateful for everything I learned here. The classes are insightful, educational and intriguing and really help us to understand ourselves, help us to return to who we were and to rebuild relationships. I have made friends here that Im still in touch with and involved in each others lives. WINR is an amazing place to get a new start in recovery.

When i went into the program I was 19 years old. I completed 8 months at WINR and I can say that there is a good chance that I wouldnt be sober today if I did not do this program. WINR has helped me in many ways. When I got here I only knew how to be a hopeless homeless junkie that had no life skills. The tools this program has given me is unbelievable. While being a resident at WINR I got a job, kept it the whole time I was in the program, and for a while after I graduated too - until I was presented with an opportunity to work at a treatment center. I learned how to face my problems head on and tackle them with grace and success. I know now that I was living a miserable life because I didnt know how else to live. I am eternally grateful for WINR showing me how to life a free, sober life, having more fun then I have ever had in my whole life. I am now in a sober living home, taking care of my financial debt and facing my problems SOBER and as soon as I get all that taken care of I will be getting my own place. None of this would be possible if it wasnt for this program and of course, my Higher Power. LOVE.

I did a tour here as I was seeking treatment and it was unbelievable just seeing the lack of care and positive energy. The tour guide wasnt as empathetic for the people there and for me coming a patient. I couldnt get my questions answered without it spiraling to a 20 minute response and forgetting what my question was. I also never received a call back with setting anything up or my questions being answered further. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH ON TREATMENT CENTERS. Im glad I did; Ive had only heard bad experiences from past clients at the current treatment center Im at.
