I was there in Aug 2021. I had some major surgeries back to back. Physical therapy came in daily and were very nice and understanding….except for one women. My husband was in the room and so was one of the nursing supervisors at the time….this women came in and told me I needed to get up out of bed. She rushed me and I was in so much pain. She refused my husband’s help too. I was on the side of the bed and she let me go and I fell back on the bed and my head bumped the rail. I looked at her crying and said “why did you let me go?” I then explained to her the surgery I had (19 staples on my stomach). She said she had NO idea I had that…. I then told her she should review the patients dx before coming into the room.I hope this doesn’t happen to someone else. She was terrible. After she left the room the nursing supervisor was glad I told her what I did. I was in the hospital for 20 days and after my surgeries I was on a ventilator for 3 days. She treated me terrible. Please make sure they know about the pt before they even go in their room

Absolutely awful. The only good thing they seem to have going for them is the assisting surgeon and the one male nurse who is polite and good at his job. The PA is good as well but the doc is exhausted and it shows. I am here for an infection and irregular heart, abnormal ecg and they are concerned after listening yet no nurse has ever come in to my room to set me up on monitor. Then they take me for ct and ask where’s your ivYeah they said they would do that hours ago and didn’t. So, I had to go back. Then they lots my urine twice. The actual doc was dismissive unlike the Pa who is actually concerned. It’s just a mess! And honestly I was scared I thought about leaving and going elsewhere to be seen

I had my 2nd full knee replacement surgery here on Oct. 4, 2021 by Dr. Kenneth Sands. He is absolutely the best ortho for knees and hips. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Sands and his PA’s. I haven’t had any problems with the completed right knee surgery from 2020 and it’s been wonderful to not have experienced any pain or problems with that knee. The difference between my experience in March 2020 and this year is the new surgical center was now open and I was allowed to go home the same day instead of staying the night as the previous year. I do feel that I had a more restful experience being home in my own bed the night of surger.I arrived at the appointed time this year as a drop off due to Covid, registration had everything ready for me and I was processed quickly and within 5 min of being in the waiting room, my nurse came and got me. While I have embarrassingly forgotten her name, she was so professional, nice, informative and worked quickly non stop for the next hour getting me ready for my 07:00 am surgery. I had forgotten just how much work was involved in this stage of the process. All the docs stopped by to see if I had any questions prior to surgery and I was taken back about 7:05.The entire staff involved in my knee surgery were all so professional and kind while taking wonderful care of me that it put me at immediate ease since I had no family there with me this time.

That was quick, just verified what they had in the computer. It was a short wait to be called for the ultrasound and it was performed professionally. Then I was walked to the room for the CT, placed on the machine, IV started, and I was finished quickly. I was walking to my car before 11:00! ... WOW 👏 great job

On the 2nd of this month I took my wife to the emergency room at this hospital with severe headache, running sinuses, terrible deep cough with ears and nose running. She she also had a fever. The Idiot Dr. Sara Niliuswith her horrible condescending attitude sent us away with the advice to go home and take Acetaminophen! This Dr. did not even order a chest xray. I had the same illness a couple of days later and went to another hospital well known for great care and treatment, and was diagnosed with a bad case of bronchitis. The meds I was prescribed cleared me up quickly.I went online to an online service, and my wife was prescribed the same as me after diagnosis of bronchitis, and feels much better after a couple of days. It is now the 26th and she has suffered all this because of your Quack Dr.She has NO CARE FOR HUMANS. Not fit even for veterinary. His name is Mike Canestrari. And if youve had the pleasure of having him help you with your therapy, you know what I am talking about. I had a total knee replacement and therapy is, to say the least, not easy. However from Mikes cheerful Good Morning to his Hold that position 5 more seconds to his reminder to Keep up your therapy at home. He just makes you feel comfortable . I am a person that has alot of questions and He has the answers or will get them for me and I think that is huge. Whether Im having a good day trying to bend my knee or the pain is so intense that I start to cry, Mike gives me the confidence, I need, to Keep Trying and reassures me that I can do this. He has always been professional, compassionate, and quite frankly... I think Mike is the best. Thank you for helping me.

The staff, paramedics, and nurses were all amazing! Fun fact if the doctor goes home without signing you medical discharge/release you can leave 2 ways. The first is to leave against medical advice. If you choose this way insurance will not pay. So unless money doesnt matter you must stay. 13 hours of my life I will never get back (like a prisoner). Now this time I will never get back but what about my insurance company. Do they get the honor of paying this bill because the doctor went home? How about the cpap that didnt work and so i decided not to sleep. Silly me thinking I would be going home soon.

I called first thing this morning and spoke to a security guard, John. Who told me he would contact the cleaning place off site that took all the laundry. When I called back the female security guard was so rude! She told me oh well, keep better track of your wallet. I still havent had a return call about my wallet. It would be great if this hospital could contact us and let us know about our belongings. Many people visit the hospital and they arent in the right place due to being sick! Looks like I’m forced to give at least one star. Didn’t have a good experience here. I told the hospital my drug allergies, they asked several times and I confirmed several times that I have them. The prescriptions they wrote me indicated no known drug allergies. At least two of the prescriptions I’m allergic to, I’m deadly allergic to these medicines. My husband informed several times that I couldn’t breath, as I went into these episodes of low oxygen and hazy vision about to pass out and they pretty much responded that there was nothing they can do. Do hospitals no longer have a supply of oxygen? How can the wait time be almost 5 hours and there wasn’t many people being seen? For the last 2 to 3 hours of that wait time, no one was in the waiting room. I will never visit this hospital again. I can’t tell you how scared I was when I went into the episodes of not being able to breath. It’s a horrible feeling because you don’t have the strength or the breath to fight for your life. You just sit and let it happen because that’s all you can do. I hope staff never allows another person to go through this again. It’s a horrible feeling.

In fact, bc I’m married to a physician and having worked in the medical field for 25 years, I actually knew more about the treatment options than he did but luckily he put his ego aside (many won’t!) and followed my wishes and I’m fine now. They also didn’t feel the need to tell me what meds they were injecting, just wanted to inject and leave. That may be bc they were in a hurry or something so I had them write them down. Be aware of surprice billing/balance billing from doctors at the ERThis hospital is in network for my insurance and during an ER visit they collected the insurance information (mine is Fed Blue Cross) but they failed to inform me that the dotors working in that facility are out of network for most insurance companies.During a medical emergency the last thing that comes to mind is about someone trying to take advantage of the situation but a week later the big surprice bill shows up from EMBCC Patient Services (third party from TX). They said that they are out of network and they will attempt to file a claim with the insurance with the expectation of the patient to pay the difference from the insurance allowance which is illegal under the currect Florida statues Title XXXVII Chapter 627.Probably the hospital have the information posted in small letters somewhere in the webpage to cover their part but they should inform the patient at check in. Their handling of patients is stelar. They meet you at the front desk. They are with you from there on out. Their concern about infections is epic, first they supply you with soap to clean proir to arrival. They then wipe you down with an antiseptic towel, one for each leg and arm, and its heated for comfort. You get to meet everyone that is involved in your operation. They also supply a document with all the players listed, like you have a program. You definitely get the opinion you count and have their peak intrest. I have one more operation scheduled and looking forward to it, not with dreadful doubts, they tell you everything.

This is a great hospital, me and my son have been here in the past month. We were in and out. Waiting room had maybe 3 pts both times we went. They were great at getting us back immediately when we came in for a high fever in my one year old. Taken care of by all staff honestly no complaints. I’d chose this hospital every time.

About a week ago, I had total robotic knee replacement with Dr. Sands and his staff providing outstanding medical skills and knowledge. Just as important was the pre and post op hospital staff who were empathetic, caring and knowledgable. This is the 2nd surgical procedure that I have had at this facility and, again, I am impressed with the professionalism and people skills of all whom I have met. The staff does a fantastic job in melding the science of medicine with the art of people and communications skills. For me, communication skills are as needed and important as the medical skills.

I just had surgery for kidney stones here yesterday (Dr. Sarasino) & I stayed a night. It was not the first time I have been here. This is the ER I choose to go to when I need ER service. Normally there is no line at night which is nice. The big hospital in town seemed to always have a crowded ER so I go here. It is like a secret. My surgery went well all the nurses and docs were great. There was a bit of a wait / delay for surgery but you can not rush perfection and I would rather them get it right the first time. Anyway the post op I was taken to my hospital room. The nurses there were actually surprisingly quick responding to the call bell.

Rant:I went in for extreme back pain. They said that I had acute exacerbation of a chronic condition. Basically nothing to be fixed or addressed. Shot me with steroids and sent me home. Never saw a doctor, PA, NP, just a nurse and administration.Brought the x ray to another dr who read their x ray and said that I’ve got bone on bone vertebrae and other degenerative disks as well as a possible compression fracture but they can’t be sure without an MRI.Basically this hospital missed the mark. I was literally crying during the x ray due to the positions and the pain in my back. It should have been obvious that SOMETHING is wrong. If they didn’t see it in the x ray maybe they should have looked elsewhere. But apparently it was in the x ray and they missed it. Gave me a note to return to work in 2 days. I could barely get out of bed for 5Edit: went to another doctor. They looked at the hospitals x ray and said likely a fracture on one vertebrae and multiple stage 2 degeneration of disks with one being stage 3.I’m going to get another opinion since the hospital and this dr are so far apart in diagnosis, however the pain I was in makes me lean towards it not being nothing.

Went to ER due severe stomach pain, possible ovarian cyst. Dr. Patel was my ER physician. I have only positive things to say with my thanks. Polite, professional and explained everything in terms I could easily understand. Nurses were awesome, the ultrasound tech was amazing. I would recommend these folks in a nanosecond if you are in need of medical attention. Thank you so much to all the staff. From: Donna Miller

I have never had such a horrible experience at a hospital. My husband went in for a quick surgical procedure at 10 am the hospital only contacted me twice after a very long delay and then said I could pick my husband up in an hour to hour and a half that was around 5 its now almost 7:30. Very poor communication and no customer service and no idea when I will get to take him home

Im very pleased I chose Melbourne Regional as I was being rushed to the ER. I was immediately cared to as I entered the door and given a room right away. The staff was wonderful and attentive. They even got me to smile quite a bit considering my pain. Heather and Emma were great, and the doctor as well. All star team they have there. Thank you.

Lab technician who drew my blood was fantastic. And I had an EKG done at the main hospital it was also a good experience he was very pleasant to work with. The only complaint I have is I was sent to the Cardiology office for my EKG originally and they were very rude and told me they only do patients of these doctors and I need to go somewhere else. They never told me where to go I had to figure it out myself. But registration in the main hospital was awesome and turned a bad experience into a good experience.

I am Rachel’s mother. She is currently at Holmes Regional Medical Center in the ICU and unable to fill this out.I understand your COVID policy regarding no visitors but when I brought my adult daughter to the ED she was incoherent and barely able to walk. I was asked by the security guard to leave. I started to follow her request but came back and tried to explain the situation. Rachel did not want me to leave and I felt uncomfortable leaving her in that condition. The security guard was very nice and told me she had explains the situation to the ED Director and was told absolutely no exceptions. We left.. Rachel had been d/c from Rockledge Medical Center a month prior. We live in Melbourne and knew her nephrologist, urologist and cardiologist also see patients at the Melbourne hospital. She had an appointment with Dr Abouelleil that day, I called the office and was told to take her to the emergency room after I explained her symptoms, mental and physical status.I eventually had to call 911 because she was unresponsive and was taken to HRMC. She was put on emergency dialysis. I was told dialysis was all that could be done for her. We made her a DNR/DNI. She is still alive and has gone through many procedures but it still fighting. Her two sons and the rest of the family is devastated. Before I retired I was an ICU and ER nurse for over 40 years. I knew what was happening and do not use the ED unless it is a true emergency.
